1. Did they vote in the general elections? 2. Do they have a political representative at Local, State and Federal level? 3. Has Boko Haram invaded this area? |

joywendy: The Chess in Slums Initiative is a Non- profit organization aimed at using the noble game of chess to help youngsters in slum communities realize their full potential by integrating principles of the game with management of daily challenges in life, enhancing abstract thinking, creativity and innovation.
This initiative was founded by National Master Tunde Onakoya, a passionate chess player/coach who strongly believes that chess can be wielded as a powerful tool to change the world.
He says the game changed his life and he is trying to use it to help the children in the slums as he also came from there.
Recently, He did a short documentary with BBC Africa about the purpose of the Initiative and how it has improved the lives of some of the children there. Some of the children have even gotten scholarships to study. Most of their scholarships came from social media, with some users asking how they can contribute to the project.
This short documentary have gone viral over a space of a few days, with Popular online platforms like Bellanaija writing a short piece on the documentary Here is the link to the documentary by BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-47499618 awesome |

I noticed that whenever there is thunderstorm at night the light goes off but would be restored that same night but of recent things had changed. What do you think would be responsible for delay? Why would the disco comp take longer time to restore rather what it use to be? 1. Human decision. 2. Faults. |

Izeb4040: Nice one...
Also, length of span (distance from one pole to the next), the number of poles before an "H" pole and size of conductor.
Another easy way is: 11kv line has 1 disc insulator on each of the 3 phases, 33kv line has 3 disc insulators on each of the 3 phases, 132kv line has 12 disc insulators on each of the 3 phases, etc...
*The disc insulators are either dark brown or light green or white. They are always at the point where the lines are stringed to the poles. NEPA man looool. I believe span is dependent on if the line is in passing through a resident or non-resident areas. Shorter span for resident areas while longer span for non-resident. Conductor size by standard is 150mm2. Disc insulators as you described are very correct but at the beginning of 11kV and 33kV feeders there could be 2 insulators and 4 insulators respectively. 330kV seems to be 30 - 35 insulators. Nice one. |

ikorodureporta: Did you know...... Great information, but this not in line with the Transmission and Distribution system in Nigeria. Transmission - 330kV and 132kV Distribution - 33kV, 11kV and 0.415kV The differentiators includes height of tower (pole), number (type) of insulators, separating distance between the phases, etc. The greater the voltage the higher the height, the more number of insulators and the longer the separating distance. |

muykem: You see mentality of average igbo man. We are praising north especially Kano for always seeing beyond political party. No political maturity, always emotion and ego. Sorry mate, Rochas Okorocha is a failure, Buhari is a failure. I don't think Igbo people will like to vote APC if they will not produce credible candidates. Another classical example is in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states. Amaechi worked well while in government and I use to love him until he disrespected GEJ, disrespecting a senior is terrible line to tow. Also, aligning with failure (Buhari), then using the military(mostly northerners) to intimidate and kill Rivers people will never go well with the masses. Akpabio threaten war on his people, and he received the booth. As you can see, the eyes of the masses are now open. Let APC remove the tribalism and hatred embedded in it, then we can talk. BTW, I will support Fashola any day, Oshomole any day; these are the people in APC we should prop up. |

Politics › Re: Nigeria To Consider Reducing Oil Output For Higher Prices – Buhari by saintneo(m): 5:09am On Feb 21, 2019 |
He said he will use the military during the 2015 elections. Nwaforj44: President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday pledged the cooperation of Nigeria to the effort to reduce oil output in order to attract higher prices in the global market.
Speaking at an audience with Mr Ahmad Qattan, Minister of State for African Affairs and Special Envoy of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and King of Saudi Arabia, at the State House, Abuja, President Buhari said as a responsible member of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Nigeria was willing to go along with the Saudi initiative in limiting output so that prices would go up.
The President, in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Garba Shehu, said output cuts had always been difficult for Nigeria considering the country’s peculiar circumstances of large population, huge expanse of land and state of under-development, adding, “I wish we can produce more.”
He, however, said: “I have listened carefully to the message. I will speak with the Minister of State Petroleum. I will call for the latest production figures. I know that it is in our interest to listen. We will cooperate.”
President Buhari explained that higher oil prices will make both nations stronger and their citizens more prosperous.
He commended King Salman for his leadership in global oil matters, assuring that Nigeria will continue to accord respect to the Kingdom in that regard.
The Special Envoy said he had brought special greetings from King Salman and the Crown Prince, and expressed their best wishes for Nigeria as the country goes into general elections.
Mr Qattan said the important reason for which King Salman sent him was to make a request to President Buhari to ensure Nigeria’s compliance with quotas assigned in January by exiting previous exemption from output cuts.
He said his country had reduced its own output by 1.4 million barrels per day to ensure that prices went up, stressing however, that Saudi Arabia alone cannot bring stability to the oil market and shore up prices.
The Special Envoy called for greater adherence to production cuts by Nigeria and hoped that he would take a positive message back home.
