Nice One Apple !!! Luv the plastic part. LOL !!! |
MTN Wahala |
Am inclined to agree more with Coogar on this one. Am not one to obsess over the high resolution or pixel density but the overall consumer experience with the device. IOS5 with the Retina display is a more fluid experience for me. The colors and clarity of text is just sharp and clear. The Samsung Galaxy S3 (ICS) also has a good screen but the Iphone Retina just does it for me. Maybe the implementation of Project Butter on Jelly Bean will give it an added advantage. |
The Galaxy S 3 is cheaper in Nigeria. Are the Apple affiliated stores cheaper than the other dealers?
My sentiments exactly. Am curious about the official Iphone prices at these official resellers. On a side note however, what's the deal with the Nano sim on the Iphone 5 as it relates to countries that have not implemented it yet e.g Nigeria ?? |
This Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Makes Sense !!! ![]()

texazzpete: That isn't any cheaper than the Galaxy S III...and Nigerians are buying those with glee.Yeah, i understand. But with the Samsung Galaxy S series, you can get those directly from Samsung Official retail outlets scattered all over the country at official prices with warranty inclusive. Plus you can also get the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note. Repairs are also handled there. For the Iphone, i believe these are the resellers you are talking about: http://www.isocietynigeria.com/resellers/ Authorised Resellers Lagos iConnect Shop 48, The Palms Mall, No 1 British International School Way, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos +234 1-7615395 +234 1-4444660 +234 1-27144913 Superior Equipment - The Orchard Shop 3, The Civic Centre Ozumba Mbadiwe, Opposite 1004, Victoria Island, Lagos +234 1 722 0640 +234 1 (0)702 806 4109 Abuja Cross Energy Flag Place 154 Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse II Abuja +234 8033145711 +234 80588025040 iMEED Store Rivers House, Building 1, 83 Ralph Shodeinde Street, Central Business Area, Abuja. +234 8098031147 +234 8082082628 Email: Abiodun Okunola Have not gone to any of the above mentioned places but am curious as to their pricing structure. Will try and check them out as soon as possible. Thanks |
For me personally, i think am gonna get an Ipod Touch 32GB (Silver) $299. You get almost all the benefits of an Iphone without the high cost and unlocking/Jailbreaking wahala. But men, the unlocked Iphone 5 is expensive, here are the prices: 1. Iphone 5 16GB Unlocked - $649 2. Iphone 5 32GB Unlocked - $749 3. Iphone 5 64GB Unlocked - $849 As an average consumer on a tight budget and salary earner, i cannot justify spending that kind of dough on a phone that can be snatched from you by an AREA boy or any hoodlums lurking about. Using current dollar rates on GTB Internet Banking $1 = N157.77, the least Iphone 5 will cost you N102,392.73. Wow !! Now that was at an official bank rate which is very hard to get. In the black market, its probably N160-163. This excludes the price of shipping it back to Nigeria or if your lucky get someone to bring it back for you. So, unless you are a high income earner or from a wealthy family, tough luck. Lastly, the Nano sim issue is a ball buster for the Nigerian fans. Microsims have just started to take off and now this !!! ![]() |
Bawss1: ^What's wrong with the Samsung ad? They've nothing wrong, they just stated the facts. Apple can get blue in the face for all they care.Honestly, i agree with you. But it does tell you something when Samsung is always the one running these ads. Apple as far as i an tell doesn't. That's telling you something. |
Samsung Don Start again o !!!

Nothing revolutionary really. Just some minor updates.

purplekayc: Hey @ wilfem: how did you make payment for your rapid share pro?http://www.epaynigeria.com/rapid-share/buy-rapidshare.html E-Pay Nigeria is the current authorised Rapidshare reseller in Nigeria. The previous reseller Rs81tech http://www.rs81tech.com/ is no longer reselling and their current filehosts (Fileserve & Filesonic) have disabled file sharing functionality on their site. However, you do have the option of using a Naira MasterCard or Visa using the MasterCard Securecode or Verified by VISA option. |
Slowly but surely Main One are making inroads into the retail segment of the broadband market. With a new PoP in Abuja to connect the Northern part of the country, we are getting there in terms of broadband penetration. It's strategic partnership with NIGCOMSAT to deliver last mile connectivity via satellite is also good development. For a 2 yr old company, that's quite an achievement. Glo-1 is also still laying fiber in remote corners of the country. However, am more interested in Fixed Line access which is still growing very slowly. |
Main One Introduces Global Video Connect Tata Communications, a leading provider of The New World of Communications, today announces that its Video Connect Network has been extended into Nigeria through a partnership with Main One Cable Company, Nigeria’s premier provider of broadband internet services. The Video Connect service will allow broadcast and production companies in Nigeria to distribute their live video content worldwide as well as enhance international broadcasters’ reach into this key emerging region. Following increasing demand for high-quality video capability in and out of Nigeria, Tata Communications’ partnership with Main One connects its global video network to an expansive local fibre network, creating a dedicated video network connecting to key broadcasters as well as production and post-production houses in Africa. Unlike traditional MPLS or contention networks, having a dedicated video network ensures the high quality and consistent video transmission needed for video broadcast, allowing Nigerian media companies to be truly global. The Video Connect network offers new levels of scalability and bandwidth supported by Tata Communications’ round-the-world, wholly-owned, sub-sea fibre network and Main One’s cable between Europe and West Africa. Video content transfer can be purchased on a permanent or per-hour basis, opening up new opportunities for Nigerian companies through flexible payment options. The Video Connect network can carry both live and file-based content. Seamless worldwide transmission is now possible through 300+ connected media hotspots including key cable and Direct-to-Home (DTH) headends, as well as production and post-production houses around the world. Genius Wong, Senior Vice President, Global Network Services, Tata Communications, says, “At Tata Communications we have always focused on giving our media customers access to key media hotspots for delivery of broadcast quality video for contribution and distribution across the globe. This extension of Video Connect reach, together with our existing presence in South Africa and our global Video network, will further enhance the value proposition for our customers, allowing the distribution of premium broadcast quality content into and out of Africa.” Funke Opeke, CEO of Main One, says “We are proud to be part of this ground-breaking partnership, bringing new opportunities not only for Nigeria, but Africa as a whole. Our high quality fibre network, coupled with Tata Communication’s international expertise and global network will open up a new world of opportunities for video coming in and out of the African region, as well as create new business opportunities for studios, broadcasters, production and pre-production companies throughout Nigeria.” This expansion of the reach of Tata Communications’ Video Connect Network in Africa compliments its South African Video Connect presence, via its subsidiary company, Neotel. Coupled with the recent completion of the world’s first wholly owned sub-sea network cable which rings the globe, the company is unrivalled for global connectivity. http://www.mainonecable.com/pressrelease/main-one-introduces-global-video-connect http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/07/main-one-brings-tata-communications-video-connect-network-to-nigeria/ |

Lol !!! Just wanna give all the Xbox Fan boys a little high BP. But seriously, if the judge rules in favour of Motorola, bye-bye Xbox |
Xbox 360 Could be Banned for Motorola Patent Infringement ITC Judge recommends a limited exclusion order be issued on the Xbox 360 console. Microsoft was today dealt a massive blow in its patent suit against Motorola as a U.S. judge recommended that the company's popular Xbox 360 console be banned from the United States. The suggestion comes following the discovery that Microsoft's Xbox controllers infringe upon several Motorola-owned patents relating to wireless technology. The news follows on the heels of an April ruling that found Microsoft guilty of infringing upon a total of four Motorola patents. However, Courthouse News Service reports that an International Trade Commission judge just recently ruled that Microsoft's Xbox should face a U.S. import ban as a result of the patent infringement. According to the court document, which was released on Monday, Microsoft argued that such a ban would not be in the public interest as customers would be left with only the PlayStation 3 and Wii as alternatives. However, Judge David Shaw disagreed. Shaw claimed there was no indication that Sony and Nintendo would be unable to meet consumer demand and highlighted the importance of enforcing intellectual property rights. "[...] it has not been alleged or shown that Sony or Nintendo would fail to meet the demand for consumer video gaming consoles in the event that an exclusion order issue," Judge Shaw said. "Moreover, there is a strong public interest in enforcing intellectual property rights; not enforcing those rights in light of a potential economic impact occurs only in exceptional circumstances." In addition to the limited exclusion order covering the 4GB and 250GB versions of the Xbox 360, Shaw is also recommending a cease and desist order for unsold inventory as well as a bond payable to Motorola to the tune of seven percent of the wholesale price of the Xboxes Microsoft still has in inventory. Motorola had been pushing for that bond to be set at 100 percent of the price, while Microsoft claimed that it should be set at zero, because there's no evidence to show customers purchased an Xbox in lieu of a Motorola Droid or set-top box. Alternatively, Redmond says it should be capped on reasonable and non-discriminatory (RAND) terms. Shaw settled on seven percent in his recommendation. So, what happens now? Will the Xbox be banned? Right now, we don't know. Wired reports that Shaw's ruling is now going to be sent to the ITC's six-member board of commissioners for review. The deadline for changes to the ruling (or throwing it out completely) is set at August 23. If the board agrees with Shaw, the decision will then be passed on to the Obama Administration, which will have its own 60-day review period. During this period, it will be up to President Obama to either sign-off or overturn the commission's decision. yimiton: @Epoma, this can't be true because Annual Operating Fees is paid annually to NCC and it runs into Billions of Naira. So, Obasanjo couldn't have continued sharing money that kept coming in even after his exit till now.Yet despite all these taxations, MTN and Co. are smiling to the bank every quarter. How much do these guys make every year after tax ?? Nobody is disputing the fact that Nigeria is a very challenging environment for any business to operate in but despite all these issues, this GSM companies still declare large profits every year. This companies have just cracked the code that anything goes in Nigeria and therefore have been used to providing poor calls and customer service because "nothing go happen". Well something has happened and its aimed directly where it hurts, their wallets. I dont care if i get a single kobo or not but i will sure be pleased to see them pay for their attitudes and lack of good services. What MTN did to its customers when it wiped their credit would never have dare happened in an european country. Some customers have still not being refunded. How much did MTN make from that and what was their punishment ?! Nothing !! ![]() |

abbeynism: the fact is that own paypal in Nigeria is illegal. If you are a full time or willing to be internet marketer, you will always need paypal somehow. Imaging when you are selling product/service and most of your targeted clients are based in US and Europe? You will find it necessary to own one because most of the countries in Europe and US residents have faith in paypal with the believe that you can hardly scam them with the power of paypal. You guys are missing the point that Maleeq is talking about. As a resident Nigerian, Paypal will not open an account for you as it does not recognize Nigeria. All of you guys claiming to have a Paypal account is linked to a different country and not Nigeria. Secondly, Paypal and other internet merchants use geo-ip software to detect Nigerian IP addresses and promptly flag those transactions as fraud. Therefore, if you use a Nigerian ISP to use your Paypal account, |

PetroDolla: Heheheheheheheh.... i dey laugh for Swahili...Wow !!! 1. SAT3/WASC (Consortium) 2. Main One (Nigerian) 3. Glo 1 (Nigerian) 4. WACS (Consortium) 5. ACE (Consortium) So, from the above information, only two Nigerian companies (Main One & Glo 1) supply bandwidth to Ghana. Don't forget, Nigeria no longer has SAT3 access with the death of Nitel. Secondly, Ghana still has a functional National Operator Vodafone Ghana that provides Fixed Lines and ADSL Broadband which is non existent in Nigeria http://www.vodafone.com.gh/Internet-Cafes/Fixed-broadband.aspx. You guys should please calculate the tariffs and speeds offered. I dare anybody to show me a Nigerian ISP offering 20Mbps ADSL Broadband Internet. P.S N1000 = c11.86. Do the math. There are many Ghanian ISP's registered on main one's client list. On our side, just 3, discontinuing the telecom operators. More than 80% of Nigeria's internet users use their phones to browse or a USB modem connected to a telecom operator. We all know their Quality of Service is very poor. Population does not translate to faster internet speed and so we should forget about that. That's why Ghana with a fewer population but better infrastructure is faster. So, to me this ranking is a wake up call to Nigerian ISP's and Telecom operators to improve upon their services and make Nigeria's footprint on the internet felt. |
