Have you ever heard the saying “money changes people” I would rather know what I’m getting into with someone and their personality around how they treat people and money itself when they have it. I’m not saying be a millionaire, just be self sufficient and carry your own.
Yeah true, your point is clear. Wish you the best

I’m not against any man. The reason that you think I’m against man is because I speak against people being used. Not every man is a bad man but Nigerian men really have a bad reputation world wide. If it’s not using people, it’s yahoo, if not yahoo, it’s drugs, if not that stealing money. It’s time for Nigerians to search within themselves and stop saying I’m bitter or angry for saying my truth.
you get it mixed up, I didn't quote u saying that, its the other lady. More so,i get your point, everyone deserves better, I only hope you get the best of what you deserve.

Romance / Re: The Only Thing You Should Do For A Man Is Pray For Him Don't Help Anyone by Samuels90: 6:33am On Apr 11, 2020
HeavenlyCherub:
Hi everyone,

I always feel any time I'm on nairaland I have drama. This platform has helped me as a release over the years. I don't understand why I have been unlucky in love but I hope my posts can help someone. Last time I was here my boyfriend of years got another woman pregnant he still wants to marry me BUT I dont think I can deal with the deception. Lying is one thing but having a whole baby is something else.

So I met someone new. It felt like he was my bestfriend. I put my life on hold for him. I gave up my life for months so that I could help him be a better man. I gave up my home, finances, my car everything to push his vision. I'm a working class woman late 20s and he was a student with a part time job. It didnt bother me he didn't have much because I loved him.

He was kind and loving but I always felt I had to reassure him of his position in my life and to tell him he is enough. This man always made it seem like I didnt respect him because he didn't feel accomplished and wasn't happy of my support of the relationship. He always made me feel bad for being successful.

It's hard for men to accept women when they attain a certain level of success. Men say that they want a woman to be there for them when they are at their lowest, I was that woman but this man broke me emotionally and made me feel small.

I will not date a man with less money than me anymore they are insecure. I just want to advise other women not to over invest your time, emotions and finances in someone who is not your husband.

We women want to over invest because we believe we are showing love. Don't walk away with a broken heart and empty wallet.

-he did not cheat, but his insecurities got the best of the relationship and I decided to walk away even if I loved him.

Having a good partner this days is tough, people go into relationships with a mindset to gain not to build/add. It's not about the class of the person but the personality, you may still end up in a bad relationship if you date someone from a well to do career. It's not about whether they are struggling or stable financially ,its the personality.

I don't know what your story is and why you are so pessimistic (probably you've been hurt badly in the past), but you should realize that there are men out there who were brought up by mothers who have the kind of character the op has.

What you give out is what you get. You give out bitterness, you receive bitterness, you radiate love, you get back love.

Hunt for love, not a rich man. If you hunt for love, you might get a rich man or a poor man. At least you get a sure thing. Love.

But if you hunt for a rich man, you may not get love and if the man loses his wealth you won't even get the money.

Of course, acquisition of wealth changes a man for good or bad, but it's the risk you have to take.

Note also that loss of wealth also changes a man mostly for worse.

Why base your happiness then on something ephemeral, something unsure such as wealth.

A man's character may be hidden, but it is constant, whether rich or poor. Fall in love with a man's character, not his pocket.

Namaste.

cc: HeavenlyCherub
that lady u quoted, is always looking for whr to say negative things about men. When it comes to men issues on this forum, she is always on the left side of things.

Although this is good news for some families, I don't think it is good news for the society.

Of recent, gunshots at midnight, particularly 12am - 3am keeps me awake all night... came to visit family and I'm stuck here...

Call Police... they'll arrive whenever they deem fit, park at the junction, turn on siren and possibly chew on sugar cane.

Criminal activities would definitely be on the rise...

The last time armed robbers came (last week Saturday), after shooting with their automatic guns... the yanbangers (vigilante) ran away and promised not to return

I’m seeing all the speculation and questioning of these NCDC guidelines and Buhari's lockdown and the one thing I do know, is that I don’t know!!
The sacrifice or inconvenience I am asked to make for a few weeks is to stay in and take precautions should I have to go out, think I can manage that, as the alternative may not be all that great!!
True this might be blown out of proportion and these professionals don’t know their head from a hole in the ground, but I am going to err on the side of caution and take their advice.
To each their own!!
This is an unknown and unpredictable illness so we are all learning as it continues.
I pray for all and hope there is good news in sight!
Until then let’s take care of our loved ones and ourselves, being patient for a few more weeks at least.
Meanwhile most Nigerians are hypocrite. I snap this pic today
Nigerians never disappoint, cool Exercise is not a bad thing, but should have been done separate... They too crowdy from the picture up there, the disease can spread easily If any is infected. We all should take caution!

*Finally, some sensible advice. From a GP Nurse in the UK.*

*To Avoid Covid-19*
What I have seen a lot of are recommendations for how to try to avoid getting coronavirus in the first place ,
• good hand washing
• personal hygiene
• social distancing
-- but what I have NOT seen a lot of is advice for what happens if you actually get it, which many of us will.
So as your friendly neighborhood Nurse let me make some suggestions:

*If you get Covid-19*
You basically just want to prepare as though you know you’re going to get a nasty respiratory bug, like bronchitis or pneumonia. You just have the foresight to know it might come your way!

*Things you should actually buy ahead of time* (not sure what the obsession with toilet paper is?):

• *Kleenex,*

• *Paracetamol*,

• whatever your generic, mucus thinning *cough medicine* of choice is (check the label and make sure you're not doubling up on Paracetamol)

• *Honey and lemon* can work just as well!

• *Vicks* vaporub for your chest is also a great suggestion.

• *a humidifier* would be a good thing to buy and use in your room when you go to bed overnight. (You can also just turn the shower on hot and sit in the bathroom breathing in the steam).

• *If you have a history of asthma* and you have a prescription inhaler, make sure the one you have isn’t expired and refill it/get a new one if necessary.

• *Meals* This is also a good time to meal prep: make a big batch of your favorite soup to freeze and have on hand.

• *Hydrate (drink!) hydrate, hydrate!* Stock up on whatever your favorite clear fluids are to drink - though tap water is fine you may appreciate some variety!

• *For symptom management* and a fever over 38°c, take Paracetamol rather than Ibuprofen.

• *Rest lots*. You should not be leaving your house! Even if you are feeling better you may will still be infectious for fourteen days and older people and those with existing health conditions should be avoided!

• *Wear gloves and a mask* to avoid contaminating others in your house

• *Isolate* in your bedroom if not living alone, ask friends and family to leave supplies outside to avoid contact.

• *Sanitize* your bed linen and clothes frequently by washing and clean your bathroom with recommended sanitizers.

*You DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL unless* you are having trouble breathing or your fever is very high (over 39°C) and unmanaged with meds.
90% of healthy adult cases thus far have been managed at home with basic rest/hydration/over-the-counter meds.

*If you are worried or in distress or feel your symptoms are getting worse*

*Preexisting risks* If you have a pre-existing lung condition (COPD, emphysema, lung cancer) or are on immunosuppressants, now is a great time to talk to your Doctor or specialist about what they would like you to do if you get sick.

*Children-* One major relief to you parents is that kids do VERY well with coronavirus— they usually bounce back in a few days (but they will still be infectious), Just use pediatric dosing .

*Be calm and prepare rationally* and everything will be fine.

This is to inform us all that the pH for corona virus varies from 5.5 to 8.5.

All we need to do, to beat corona virus, we need to take more of an alkaline foods that are above the above pH level of the Virus.

Some of which are:
*Lemon - 9.9pH*
*Lime - 8.2pH*
*Avocado - 15.6pH*
*Garlic - 13.2pH*
*Mango - 8.7pH*
*Tangerine - 8.5pH*
*Pineapple - 12.7pH*
*Dandelion - 22.7pH*
*Orange - 9.2pH*

How do you know you have coronavirus?
1. *Itching in the throat,*
2. *Dry throat,*
3. *Dry cough.*
4. High temperature
5. Shortness of breath

So where you notice these things quickly take warm water with lemon and drink.

Do not keep this information to yourself only. Pass it to all your family and friends. God bless you.
Good piece of information Nurse. Nice one
