The guy who submits the publication has to explain y those experiments were rejected. As i said, it could be calibration errors etc. Interesting to explain something not their. Submissions for publication are not sent in lab note books therefore I doubt the reviewers get a chance to see individual lab notebooks and rejected experiment |

Tayo-D: @savahana, So babies born into rich homes don't get shot at at 14 too? What exactly is your point? Well since you are making this into rich and poor, how many babies born into rich homes are killed compared to those born into poor homes? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Hurray! Evolutionists Have Their "missing Link" At Last! by savanaha: 7:02pm On May 21, 2009 |
bawomolo: Umm you have to submit averages and deviations. You don't have to submit every result but you have to present your findings in a way anyone who conducts the same experiment would have a similar result.
example if i say the mass of an atom is 1000KG(add or subtract 100KG). If someone does the same experiment and gets 700KG then something is wrong. Yes they have biases but the editors of this journals aren't dummies. Ummm, so what about the experiments that don't come close to the expected results that are completed rejected during the publication of the paper? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Hurray! Evolutionists Have Their "missing Link" At Last! by savanaha: 6:55pm On May 21, 2009 |
bawomolo: FALSE, there is a thing called standard deviation. You can't fool anyone with the "best result" if the deviation from the other results are too high. You have to explain why their is a huge difference with the other. whether it be calibration issues or an outside phenomena.
Editors can easily point such anomaly. It's funny how people bash scientific journals when findings don't go their way. Um you do know you don't have to publish every single result, even if you write down every single experiment meticulously, you still don't have to show everything in a published paper. |

Tayo-D: @savanaha, I am glad you called it what it is: killing a child! If you are okay with killing a child because of poverty, fine with me. As long as you and your conscience can live with it.
I have said here that I am in support of the death penalty. That only in the case of a convicted cold-blooded murderer. Such a life can be taken because it deliberately took a life in cold blood. According to the justice principle of no cruel and unusaula punishment, every reaction to an action must be comparable. In that sense I have no problem with abortion when the life of the woman is at stake. Anything other than that is unjustified. Life can be exchanged for life. Life cannot be exchanged for money or lack of it! O.K so when the baby is born and is rejected and ends being shot at 14 or a similar age it alright as long as it was not aborted. Interesting. |

m_nwankwo: Uchenna. Scientists are human beings and they have their bais. But in the long run, even if it takes decades the claims of such biased scientists will be exposed by their peers. Even in top class journals like Science and Nature, look at the number of retractions. I have had my manuscripts rejected by these top journals simply because my finding will pose a serious scientific problem to multibillion vaccine industry. I also have reviewed manuscripts and recommended them for publication based on scientific merit and yet the editor rejects the recommendation because the paper dig holes in what he has established over 30 years of research. So therir is politics, bias etc in peer review but in the end these papers published for reasons other than scientific merit will soon or later get discredited. So that should not be a worry in the long run. What is probably a greater problem is when an original idea that will make significant contribution to humanity is killed simply because the investigator is not one of the godfathers in his area. I am loving this!! |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Notre Dame: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly by savanaha: 5:57pm On May 21, 2009 |
Tayo-D: @savanaha,
There is a way to avoid abortion - don't get pregnant! Is that too much to ask? If you are mature enough to have sex, you should be mature enough to understand its consequences. Yeah easier said than done! After whats her name. . . preached it (Palin) didn't her daughter get pregnant? So she didn't have an abortion but many people don't have people that will help them through it. I personally don't agree with all types of abortion like reckless sex resulting in unwanted pregnancy and then abortion but I am not going to hammer down on someone not to kill a child that I cannot take care myself. There are also people that no matter the circumstance disagrees with abortion and that is definitely ridiculous |

That is 21st century "science" for you. I think the pressures of grants and publications has pushed integrity aside. Tell them. Most people fall for this science stuff. Experiments are usually repeated multiple times to get the best result (the one you "hypothesized" . And once that is gotten it is published as if. No one publishes results that don't work or what actually happened or how many times it failed or the patch work that had to be done. |

Tayo-D: @TOH,
Understand where I am coming from. Savahana declares that if we really hate abortion then we should be ready to take care of the babies. The ideology behind that statement is that life is disposable for economic reasons. I don't understand how else to interprete such a statement. Do you? Yes, take care of children that are already born into a messy world as a start so that people that change their minds about abortion will know their unwanted child has someone where safe rather than being shot later. There are many ways to interpret things and your interpretation only supports your agenda therefore for you there is no other way of interpreting it. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Notre Dame: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly by savanaha: 5:29pm On May 21, 2009 |
Tayo-D: @savanaha, How clever. Why not ask people in this era of 'personal responsibility' according to Obama, to take responsibility for their actions. If you can't take care of a child, don't have one. Our experience as humans reveal that we are all subject to the laws of sowing and reaping, cause and effects etc. If you can't take care of a child, don't have one, otherwise you become a murderer.
And for those of you who care so much for the poor, why not donate 100% of your income to the govt to dole out welfare programmes? As for adopting orphans, I am quick to point out a staunch pro-lifer in the person of Michelle Bachman. She is a member of the House representing MN. She is a proud foster mother of 26. As conservatives, we put our money where our mouths are. Same cannot be said of the liberals.
I must add that I am shocked by the lack of morality you guys are displaying here. Life to you is disposable for economic reasons. Do you realise that is your stance? You do understand that people by having an abortion someone realizes that they cannot take care of the child therefore they are aborting it. And am happy that America has made people divided into two groups of liberal or conservative. Nowhere did I tell you I was either even if you are conservative. All I know is that you mention Michelle Bachman but don't mention yourself, and all other conservatives who have not adopted. If all then people that called themselves pro-lifers adopted like Miss/Ms./Mrs. Bachman then telling someone that doesn't want a child there would be a home for the child would be a bit more convincing. On your comment about doling out 100% about income, it is interesting that the people you consider "murderers" are atleast willing to help the poor without whining and people that are all about life, love liberty and God act as it they have never seen the inside of a church. Maybe you so called conservatives realize that human beings are not divided into groups of "liberals" and "conservatives" what you think your preaching might mesh together better with your actual practices. |

The sensible way forward would be to offer a 30 day amnesty to all involved, then after the deadline I would suggest the following:
1st Offence - Amputation of the right hand 2nd Offence - Amputation of the left foot 3rd Offence - Death by Hanging
This has to be the fair way forward! If life in Nigeria worked as wll as it does in Britain where you live then they should be tortured but since 419 is a last result try using your suggestions on the criminals in England. |

Here is what Africans, Asians and Jews face in Ukraine: http://www.amnesty.org/en/news-and-updates/report/racism-on-the-rise-in-ukraine-20080710Racism on the rise in Ukraine 10 July 2008 Four foreigners have been murdered in Kyiv so far this year because of the colour of their skin, according to a new Amnesty International report. The report Ukraine: Government must act to stop racial discrimination, highlights an alarming increase in attacks on foreigners and members of ethnic and religious minorities in Ukraine. The report, launched on Thursday (10 July), also documents how the Ukrainian authorities are failing their international and domestic obligations to ensure the right not to be discriminated against for all who live in the country. According to non-governmental organizations, there were 60 racist attacks in Ukraine in 2007. Six of these resulted in the death of the victims. So far this year, there have been over 30 racist incidents. Four were murders. The majority of victims have been of African or Asian origin. Prejudice and violent attacks against Jews and Jewish properties also continue, while members of certain Roma communities have been fingerprinted and photographed by police apparently because of their ethnic identity. Yet despite the racist attacks and police racial profiling the authorities are reluctant to acknowledge the existence of intolerance and racial discrimination in Ukrainian society. Often the police fail to react with the required urgency to calls for help from victims of racist attacks. Sometimes they refuse to act at all. When arrested, perpetrators of racist attacks are labelled “hooligans” and legislation targeting racist crime is rarely applied. “It is disturbing that the Ukrainian authorities fail to acknowledge the existence of racism in all its manifestations,” said Nicola Duckworth, Europe and Central Asia Programme Director at Amnesty International. “Such failure can only lead to a rise of racist attacks and impunity for the perpetrators.” Daniel Osaemor, a Nigerian market trader, was attacked by a group of youths on 19 February 2008 as he left a supermarket in Kyiv. They were reported to have surrounded him and stabbed him in the chest. |

I dont know bout girls, but boys will rarely disuade a fellow boy from cheating on their spouses. It part of the unwritten rule, somewhere close to the "dont rat" rule.
