Ebi2233:Obolos are not Ijaws, talk less of Ibinos. Face the truth brah..... Andonis are not Ijows in majority.... That is the truth. |
Ebi2233:lol, some of those tiny tiny fishing camps and hamlets you guys are labelling as "towns"... some of them not even up to 200 people are in Itsekiri lands.... You people stylishly renamed some of those towns into Ijaw names to make them irrecognizeable. Una rename Aja igbo dudu (black forest) in itsekiri. Gbaramatus are an enclave in itsekiri, abi you didn't know that? Una label all your Ijo camps, but how about all the settlement of others in those lands you people want to steal.... you think you can wish them out of existence because you didn't label them?? ![]() |
The truth of the matter is that Ijaws can not claim anything beyond Forcados river. Pushing it anything beyond that will give you guys SERIOUS problems. The Entire coast is dominated by ilaje up to Ogheye eghoroke and Agogboro... {Even into parts of Ugborodo , although the itsekiris are the customary land owners there}. In Warri North the Itsekiris are the Majority.... Ilajes are also significant, followed by Ijaws. ....The Benin river estuary and the Warri Kingdom is dominated by ITSEKIRIS. The ijaws there are in enclaves and their migratory history to some of these places is well known, including those who moved up the Osse and Siluko rivers into edo forest reserves to lumber trees for making dug-out canoes business.... So tell me, how you people want to connect the whole thing and pretend like there aren't others there, and on land traditionally belong to other tribes for that matter. ![]() To make matters worse, these expansionists are even claiming lands belonging to ibeno and Obolo that speak Benue-Congo languages related to Oron, Ibibio and Efik as Ijaws.... Ujons are jokers. |

While black communities grew in size and number during the nineteenth century, outlets for their participation in greater society remained relatively small. Social organizations outside of the family unit were largely absent for Nassauvian creoles. What little Afro-centric organizations existed in Nassau, such as the few “Yoruba Societies” that dotted the Bahamas after 1836, had light membership. And, while evidence suggests that some black Nassauvians were members of masonic organizations since at least 1817, it is not clear whether any masonic organizations in Nassau actually accepted non-whites for the first half of the 1800’s. This suggests that any black masons in Nassau had migrated from other areas after receiving masonic initiation [12]. Besides family life, religion was the only consistent mode of social organization for Nassau’s creoles in colonial times. Methodists preachers had clearly reaches most of Nassau’s enslaved population during the 1700’s, and beginning in 1801, black Baptist churches began to appear in Nassau. Despite their tremendous presence in Nassau, however, creoles were often excluded from participating in most public institutions, relegating their social role to that of second-class citizens.http://aaronhiggins.blogs.wm.edu/nassau-ethnic-diversity/ |
Is that a drainage path / covered culvert underneath the building? |
Another fake profile opened specifically to bash Yorubas, spread false narratives and ferment trouble …lol More that 80% of Yorubaland unions are still Yoruba to Yoruba…. You mentioned all the celebrities with some form of mixed heritage like 4 or so of them… but what about the 1 zillion that are 100% Omoluabi? Better go get a job to do you this man. |
Abohboy:I was the one you quoted, and what I said was that both oral literature of we the people involved as well as the earliest written records from the European explorers point towards ife. I didn't say Africans recorded their history in print or writing. And TAAO's reply gave a very good example of such written sources with an additional layer of orally documented reportage. Don't conflate the points. |
Ancient Yoruba renditions of the notorious solomon's knot on old Benin ancestral altar..... smh |
Abohboy:It is even funny how benin people have such an obsession with brass casted work when in Ife, there were various media of artistic expression ranging from Terracotta/Ceramics to Metallic to Glass all extremely old- infact much older than the Benin works. Like someone already earlier mentioned here, most Benin people of this present generation are not critical thinkers and are mostly all crass/shabby revisionists that can't even do the job right. |
^^ Was just about to reply him , then I saw your reply. Good one. |
Ife civilization is waay older than anything that has ever come out of or connected to Benin in its current or any of its earlier forms. As a matter of fact- the civilization of Benin traces directly back to Ife- which was the oldest nexus of civilization in all of tropical west and central Africa. Examples of these flows are in religion and spirituality, linguistics, myths and legends of creation, arts and artefacts, archaeology and the royalty… Including oral and the earliest written/recorded historical records. |

It seems Yoruba descendants are quite numerous in this country sha.... The culture is even attracting more natives and expanding it seems. Sierra Leone should make Yoruba a National or official Language already. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-8MpUMSI2U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIXRnJbzBW8 |

This is satellite imagery of Bayelsa state... all made up almost entirely of empty creeks, so where exactly are the population centres outside the Yenagoa axis? I am putting it out here expressly to all of us that even the one point something million people recored for Bayelsa state during the 2006 national population census is complete falsehood and cooking up of non existent population figures. Everywhere is empty there, and the major concentrations of people is mostly around Yenagoa ad the northeastern corner of the state near the engennis. Brass and Nembe are tiny hamlets.... but 2006 census somehow wants us to believe there are almost 200K people in Brass LG. ![]() |
Kirigidi:And those two are the least populated LGs in the state, but somehow always churn out elephant votes during elections. ![]() |

If Igboho wanted to leave through Nigeria's porous borders through which Buhari's family in Niger Republic, Mali and Chad have been pouring daily into the country unchecked, he would since have. If he is still in Nigeria, it is because he wants to be in the country.... Government should stop the useless propaganda.... Igboho is a HERO whose name will remain with us for a thousand years. |
Wondering same |
Elliotwaveforec:Well, that may be true if the owus in Kwara recognize themselves as Owus as of now. Note that we are talking about how they self identify now and not the history of where they migrated from... Because as far as I know the villages with the word 'owu' in their names in Kwara like (igbo owo, owu-isin) all self identify as Igbomina and not Owu, I might not be right..... I know Owu homestead was originally in the area of present southern Osun state before they were dispersed by war and may of them ended up among the Egbas. |
wealthtrak:Not saying that Iseyin is Not Yoruba. Infact, only very few places could be more Yoruba than Iseyin. ![]() What I am saying is that iseyin is not the name of a Yoruba group. The town belongs to a Yoruba ethnic group called The Onko... or if you like 'Oke-ogun'.... which more people may recognize from this present generation... other places within that nomenclature include; Okeho, Ipapo, ilero, Ofiki, Ago aare, Ijio and more. |
aminulive:Propaganda machine of Nigeria on overdrive mode.Really, there is a new and only tribe – the aboriginal Nigerian; a cross-genetic breedhttps://politicsnigeria.com/ndi-igbo-stand-for-one-nigeria/ What is the above quote even supposed to mean? Any indigenous person that allows this to happen to his/her ethnic group to be subsumed into the detrimental "Nigerian" identity is an enemy of his own self. What I know is that YORUBAS can never disappear into fake Nigeria, our identity is even stronger than "Nigerian" identity.. whatever that even is. If you all want to know the real meaning of the Nigeria being envisaged up north, take a look at the image below. |
Chisos. Daughters of jezebel on the beat. |
seunmsg:Otun is not Igbomina, besides, the Owoore of Otun is even one of the highest ranking Ekiti Kings historically speaking. Efon is also not Ijesha… Infact, the original archaic/old name for all Ekitis in colonial literature is ‘Effon’ I know that bordering areas of Ekiti to other groups might show some elements of dialaectal mixing, but it isn’t enough to classify them as Non Ekitis. The Ekiti Kwara groups show even more Igbonna influence and yet they are still Ekiti. The OP even acknowledged it… how then will Otun that is further south and in Ekiti state suddenly become full fledged Igbominas? The Ekitis and the Oyos are the only Yoruba groups than span 3 states. Plus Ilaje if we count Lagos. |
Ilajes are in Ondo, Ogun, Delta and Lagos There are no Ijeshas in Ekiti state Ekitis are in Ondo, Ekiti, Kwara Itsekiris are in Delta and Edo Iseyin is not a Yoruba group.. They are Onko Okun is a sociopolitical nomenclature similar to Anioma. Okun is not a Yoruba ethnic group- What we have are the Yagba, Owe, Ibunu-Ikiri, Oworo, Ijumu and Gbede.... The word 'Okun' itself is derived frm a common greeting among all central and northeastern Yoruba groups including Ekitis, Akokos Etc. Owos and Ikales are in ondo and Edo There are no Igbominas in Ekiti, they are in Kwara and Osun. You didn’t mention Ifes You didn’t list groups outside Nigeria |

Yaba is already Africa's largest tech Hub. Unless the Lagos state government means to help with more dedicated physical structures. |
