Honestly, I really blame some of the Anioma people who doesn't understand the implications of allowing such insult by these guys to stand against them.

People are relying on myths and legends to claim being superior to another group of people that are totally different from them.

Of what benefit would associating with Benin offer to the Anioma people when they're even more populous, more educated, and more endowed in terms of human and natural resources than the said Bini, a minority group with nothing to offer?

I'm curious though, also. Could there be any link with the fact that Nok art is found near their site and Esie (Yoruba sculptures) and other forms of Yoruba art look like Nok art? They also speak a language which falls under the Volta-Niger cluster -- "Gb" consonant and "kp" consonant

Note that they also see that head as sacred, but treat it moreso as such than the Yorubas do.

Just asking questions. (note: I think Nok is actually found in the Atyap section, but they live immediately close to Gbagyi)
Their reverence for the “head” might just be co-incidental with that of the Yoruba, Furthermore- there is no proof per say that the makers of the ancient Nok works of art were the direct ancestors of todays Gbagyis, and even if they were, I am sure there are other populations descended from the same stock as well.

Yes I am familiar with their language , it sounds very much like Nupe.
CultureRe: Yoruba Gbagyi Relation? by scholes0(m): 6:09am On Aug 28, 2020
Gbagyis? Nope..

Yorubas don’t mention them in our history even when Nupe (Tapa) is mentioned severally and is very well known. There are even towns in Yorubaland founded by Nupes.

Gbagyis are more like the Nupes without a strong culture/history- and we don’t really know them.

GTkester:
But on a more serious note, taking a second look at this list and reminiscing on the history of Nigeria made me sad for some few moments.

To be honest, the afonjazees have messed up Nigeria. So when it comes to hardwork, diligence, knowledge and almost every other important positive HDIs' the Igbos and Yorubas are almost always on the top. But instead of the yorubas to merge together and develop a unified vision or mission with the Igbos in Nigeria, they chose to sabotage the Igbos and at the same time play a second fiddle to the fulanis whom they are in every way better than.

What yorubas Muslims have done to the great Yoruba nation is honestly unpardonable!!
I already kind of knew from the start that your main grouse with the news is not that this achievement isn't newsworthy, but rather the composition of the achievers.

But back to your fallacious post, if you are a real student of history then you would have known that for most of Nigeria's existence starting from the first republic- Yorubas have always been in the opposition, while the Igbos and Hausa-Fulanis have always been bed partners. But the good thing is that you can't hide the truth, especially when It is glaring. Let's look at the timeline of those who have ruled Nigeria since independence

1960-1963 — Azikiwe/Balewa
1963-1966 — Azikiwe/Balewa
1967-1979 — Civil war/ Military Rule
1979-1983 — Shagari/Ekwueme
1983-1999 — Military Rule
1999-2007 — Obasanjo/Atiku
2007-2010 — Yar'Adua/Jonathan
2010-2015 — Jonathan/Sambo
2015-Date — Buhari/Osinbajo

Now look at the list and tell me when this "Yorubas playing second fiddle to the Fulanis" fable became a thing among you people? Azikiwe in fact neglected Awolowo's handshake across the Niger and instead chose to go play second fiddle as a ceremonial president to prime minister Balewa who had the real power. He also frustrated Chief Awolowo's plan to include the secession clause in the constitution.

On the issue of Southern Unity, did you know that Chief Awolowo picked an Igbo running mate. Yet, the Igbo voted en masse for Shagari, an illiterate Northerner to spite Awolowo and the Yoruba. In fact, the Igbo wanted Abacha to continue ruling, matter of fact, the [Youth Earnestly Ask for Abacha (YEAA)] campaign was led by an Igbo man, by the name Daniel Kanu. They even voted against Abiola who had wide acceptance across the board in Nigeria, including huge swathes of the North, and instead chose to support Tofa the Northern candidate whose collabo partner was an Igbo vice by the name Sylvester Ugoh who also happened to be the defunct governor of the central Bank of Biafra (shame). Abiola won in only 1 out of the then 4 Eastern states

—The Igbo had no problem with collaborating with the North when they supported Atiku and Peter Obi or in all previous occasions. They only have issues with Northern collaboration when they aren't the bedmates and someone else is doing the 'collaborating' lipsrsealed

This school was all over the news last year, and they have done it again this year.

It was all joy and smiles for the 51 A-level students of Brampton Manor Academy in the East Ham area of London who had secured university admissions into the U.K's most prestigious universities known locally as the "Ox-bridge", a portmanteau of the two oldest, classiest and richest universities to study competitive courses. Meanwhile, more than 100 received straight A and A* GCSE grades for a third year running in the same school. Many of these students are from ethnic minority backgrounds, and Nigerians especially seem to stand out. The performance is sterling says executive principal Dr Dayo Olukoshi: "These offers reward the academic brilliance and dedication of our students", he added

Other pupils are heading to Russell Group universities including Warwick, King’s College London, Imperial College, London school of Economics, St Andrews and Durham, taking up places on courses including law, economics and biomedical sciences including medicine. Graduates from these schools hold 61% of all UK jobs that require a university degree, despite being only 17% of all higher education graduates.

Perhaps the most distinguishing factor of the Brampton manor academy is the fact that it is a state run school situated in one of the lesser privileged areas of town, and yet, the school's success bests the admission rates of some of the top-performing private schools across the UK. The school's academic policy is "Getting the students to shake off the idea that Oxford and Cambridge are just for an “elite” couple of students and encourage everyone to apply.’ And that seems to be working very well for the previous couple of years. In 2014, one student received an Oxbridge offer and in 2018, that had grown to 25 - For the current year, the number stands at 51, a record. The school’s success comes after figures revealed that state school pupils have been offered 69 per cent of the undergraduate places at Oxford – a record high.

The school Principal, Mr Dayo Olukoshi who has since taken the institution to heights never attained before joined Brampton Manor as the Principal/headteacher in 2008, having previously worked as a teacher and senior leader in various UK schools since 1992. He has been awarded an OBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for Services to Education.

The school has the best student performance and highest rank in Newham East London, and has been ranked as one of the 50 best secondary schools in the United Kingdom for the fourth year running.

Incase you don't know, the difference between the current "Bini" people and Esan is that unlike the Bini people that were mentally subjugated by the new Yoruba Oba system that caused hostilities between Idu and their neighbours, the Esans never fell for the Yoruba Oba and as such Idu was divided and the elements of Idu persisted in Esan where the four market days introduced by nri migrants are in full practice, Esan maintained the Nri sacred and spiritual system thus making now Yoruba accultured Bini people to see them as fetish and witches
