Gossiphub:Festus Keyamo that is as lightweight as a feather in politics, despite being a minister. I bet you if he contests as a councillor in his ward,he would be defeated. |
babytoun:I knew the op was making a f ool of himself. No one should say he is being mischievous because that would make it look like the op has intact number six. It's only someone without commonsense that would think anyone would present a result in this age where total vote cast is more than accredited voters. This is asides the fact that LP could not have been able to rig in Lagos because it can't bribe the INEC staff or computer guys sending the results to the irev, then the police to look the other way,the 3 sets of people you need to rig an election. St upid op! |
mickyus4uyahoo:I just read the heading, read the body of the post, saw that the thread it's now on page 2 and without bothering to read any other post decided to reply:I know you have made a f ool of yourself. Let me now read other posts to confirm my assertion. |
BeardedmeatR:Thank u |
msbyao:At bolded. That makes their request,if true, because the lasg said it's not aware of such request, quite puzzling and annoying. I honestly don't think the school is handling this matter right. This request of theirs, again if true, will even give them more negative publicity than even her actual death. If indeed she died of electrocution,at least the school major issue will be not providing adequate medical staff on ground and maybe poor supervision,it can't be a charge of murder or even manslaughter. What they should do is reach out to the parents.Initially the parents may rebuff them due to the way the school initially wanted to paint them as poor by claiming the girl had a prior medical issue. But if they persist and give the parents support after an official apology,an agreement can be reached by both sides because what would be at the back of even the parents mind is that their beloved daughter is gone and can't come back so they too have to move forward. An apology, official delegation from the topmost management of the school to the parents, then a settlement because Doyin is definitely not a poor school and can bear some financial hit, then a yearly memorial with naming of one of the school hostels or blocks after the girl, would definitely placate a lot of people and show other parents the school is sorry and takes the wellbeing of all it's students serious. |
djon78:Indeed the party is Labour but Obi is the driver and conductor. |
djon78:My brother the thing is baffling. Obi didn't steal from the state, didn't oppose his ambition, has even largely kept out of the politics of the state and you just decide to be backbiting and insulting the man! |
On what basis are they demanding another autopsy? This is what LASG should first demand if indeed the school is requesting such? We mustn't use government to Lord over individuals and organisations. If an appointed pathologist from the school was present and accepted that the autopsy was properly conducted and signed, then their request is prosperous. But if no pathologist from the school was present or he didn't sign or disputes the chief pathologist's report, then an issue arises that should be handled openly and fairly. We are talking of the untimely, gruesome death of a young girl with a bright future. Going forward, what lessons has the government learnt from this,to avoid repeat in future because closing of school is not always the answer. |
djon78:For a fact Soludo didn't do well at all. He actually didn't believe obi with labour party will do so well so he was openly castigating and "badmounting" the man up and down. Even after INEC declared APC the winner,he still came out taunting Obi. If APGA is crucified, particularly in Anambra, they have Soludo to blame and he would be in serious trouble governing the state and during his reelection because even if he decides to seek favour from APC,if APC retains the presidency at the courts,no politically astute APC government or members will want to go against obi in Anambra State from thence onwards because they would all know he has a firm grip on the state and thus the FG will just allow the electorate to decide on the ballot and not attempt any arm twisting. Soludo has not impressed at all as far as the politics of Anambra is concerned. How far with the senate and HOR seats specifically in Anambra? |
Truthfully labour did very well, people that had little got elected. That is the essence and ideal of democracy. I found it insulting and laughable at the same time when PDP said they would want to go into alliance with labour. Another laughable speech was Atiku saying he would have made obi his VP candidate. Concerning the comedy from Atiku,he still doesn't even understand. If obi had been his VP,the PDP won't have won those places obi won and would have been soundly defeated by Tinubu.Obi won so much for Labour party because he was the principal candidate and voters saw in him,a man who as the number 1 citizen, with executive powers, can effect a meaningful change in the Nigerian society, something everyone knows he can't as an elected VP. Labour should in the same vain, not make the grave mistake of going into an alliance with the PDP.Nigerians have rejected the PDP and they tried same with the APC in this election. The PDP is still seen as a dark side of our democratic entity.Labour should only entertain such talks if a new party emerges from a merger of like minded elements of labour and PDP,like happened with ACN,CPC and breakaway elements of the PDP to form APC. The new merged party can be called for eg,Labour democratic party(LDP) or Labour People's party (LPP) and PDP dies in the process. |
PrinceOfLagos:wait till u reach his age and see if u would not be smelling like cowdung and even remember where your toothpaste is. |
farous:It's because you see her everyday and you both live together. I bet you,let one of those big booty ladies come to live with you,you will also get tired after some time and want another type of big booty or even want to go back to having one with no big booty. It's the nature of the human, what is with you everyday, you sometimes soon have contempt for and want to taste that outside but once you have also tasted enough of it,you want out again. Grow up or try it and see if my theory is not correct. |
Konskott:You must have attended night school. So ₦500 is equivalent to $55 and not $1 official rate or $0.7 with the more appropriate parallel market rate. Also how can Nigerians pay more for a plate of rice $25=₦18,000. So a plate of rice in Nigeria can cost ₦18,000 or you always leave class when arithmetic was being taught? |
blackmantis:O,Ok. I initially thought you just left it at that. |
Ijaya06:$50 or $5? |
blackmantis:Why you sounding you just taking it as something normal. 100k of your own hard earned money and you are not sounding disturbed! Maybe that's why there doesn't seem to be social media commotion about it,people seem to be taking it in their strides, like if it's resolved good,if not, money don go,na to hussle to replace am!! |
THEMORALMEN:That ussd stuff can be somehow atimes, but at least your experience hasn't been that bad from your narration here. |
Beremx:O!Ok. |
Beremx:You are even lucky you got through to them on phone. The customer care lines will just be playing music for you if you are lucky, but most times it's just doesn't connect. How long ago has your issue been going? |
Nightwolf1:Any positive feedback from UBA? |
Benard5050:Yours is going for how long now? |
Slynation:The physical appearance to the bank is a no go area.Your nearest branch maybe closed or you simply can't go into the ones that are open due to the deluge of people with complaints or want to do businesses in the bank but must be physically present to have their business sorted out. It's a nightmarish period out there now. The scary thing is that I have yet to read here of someone that had such failed transaction resolved! |
Felabrity:Pathetic is an understatement. The right word is scary! |
Slynation:You mean you abandoned recovering your monies?! |
DeLaRue:Wao! So what steps have you taken about it or you just left the money to go like that! What if the amount involved is huge and is for something like rent or to purchase goods for business and landlord has not seen alert and is threatening to evict you or your goods can't be supplied because alert has not been seen? |
HRHQueenPhil:It's not just POS dear. Online transactions are just hanging up and down. I went to uba and first bank Twitter handles and saw the number of complaints. Many are unresolved going to weeks. I thought there was a time CBN made it compulsory for such transactions to be reversed or resolved within 24 hours but it seems Emefiele was busy trying to run for political office, then this his failed naira swap policies to remember that the CBN has utterly failed in it's oversight functions to banks! |
I did a transaction on a POS terminal. The transaction was declined but I was debited. That was last month.I was reassured by the POS agent that it would be reversed by the bank,so I just left it at that. Some days after I transferred money with a different bank account to another bank.I was similarly debited, but the recipient didn't receive the money, which I am sure of because I also have free access to the person's account because she's a direct relation. I was similarly expecting an automatic reversal because it happens like that atimes. But hours went by,24 hours,48hours! That was when I knew this was no longer a joke and I started sweating, then I remembered I had forgotten that of the POS because it was a small amount. I quickly called both banks customer care numbers, they were not connecting throughout the day.I started sending mails, then later at night I still tried because the CC lines were purported to be 24 hours.Still no show. I didn't get any direct reply or calls after the mails except for the automatic response they send everyone. POS was now going to 2 weeks, the online transaction 1 week. With no response in sight and my entire system suddenly looking like I was now having abdominal upset, aka, diarrheal of "hanging monies"origin,I ran to twitter to lay my complaint on the 2 banks Twitter handles, only to realise other people had similar issues. Some had even started official complaints for 3 weeks,2 weeks, others days with no reversal or crediting of the affected accounts.A user even posted of having transferred ₦850k to an account, wasn't received and wasn't reversed!! Now I was in obvious panic, have lost appetite and getting extremely worried. How many nairalanders have this experience and what do we do because these hanging monies are into several billions if totalled and the networks are not getting better. These are monies meant for businesses,to feed, buy foodstuff or to family members in urgent need of taking care of health or other urgent needs. You go to buy fuel, you are stranded because POS receipt says declined,so they refuse to sell to you,yet you don't see your money. A guy even told a story of how he went to eat with friends, after eating they tried transferring, but no way,it became a big embarrassment!!! Please nairalanders, narrrate your experience and the way forward. I remain yours in sweaty, panicky mode. |
Faber:I thought I was responding to a reasonable human being, didn't know I responded to a deluded thing. |
Faber:With just 7 seats? The whole Labour party movement was based on Obi and not the party per se. Imagine the SE where LP had a landslide in all 5 states, giving u 15 senate seats, yet I don't think they have won more than 5 seats from that zone, unless there are other results yet to be called. Even at that APC winning 2 senate seats in Imo was a disaster for LP. If LP sticks to it's ideology and obi continues making the party to have a vibrile political input and not go into hibernation or members defect, the LP with good and focussed party executives has the potential to spread it's tentacles wider because it now has a physical structure of some sorts to go with it's online army. Don't forget LP did well in core northern states like Kaduna,Adamawa, asides from it's now formidable presence in Taraba, plateau and nassarawa. Infact,if LP can have obi still driving it's machinery with an Obi like personality as National chairman,it can turn states like Taraba,Plateau,Nassarawa and even Kaduna and Benue to it's fortresses and make progress in others like Adamawa,Kano,Kebbi. If Obi for example returns in 2027 with a stronger deputy in the like of a former governor or better still if Kwankwaso accepts to be his deputy in 2027,I bet you 2027 will be an herculean battle between APC and LP. |
AsapTeddy:Sometimes you just wonder if some people on nairaland have functioning brains at all. Just imagine the number of people that believe this story. The ones that doubt are not completely convinced it's false. Can you imagine how brains of such people work for a story that is so fake that even a well schooled 5 year old would laugh over! |
justyhere:You people with your childish lies and of course there will be one illiterate moderator to push such fairytale fabrication to the FP! |
victooman:If the person you quoted is correct in what he typed, commonsense (not using it in an insultive way) should make you ask yourself:how many Nigerians do exercise?Very little. How many go to their offices or business centres and sit all day at their desks in banks, ministries, parastatals, agencies, government offices and even shops?Several million. So how come all these people or very few of them have edema. How come the many billionaires and rich people in Nigeria that sit in their cars while being driven day in day out, don't have edema. Take your dad to the hospital for him to be checked by a doctor and don't swallow many of the nonsense stuff you read here because it can be something very serious. Next thing the person you quoted or someone else would tell you is that they have one herbal concoction that will cure the swelling. |
