Did he actually reply to that accusation? Everyone with sense that's a baseless, cheapish lie. What this guy should have done,if he was well advised,is not to respond to it at all because the lie by APC urchins has even given him more traction and publicity than he would ordinarily have had, leading to possibly more votes at the polls because some people will now believe that if he is actually being funded by Emefiele,he thus has some serious financial backing,so cannot be financially rigged out at the polls and is a serious candidate that deserves their votes.Even some people that would have voted the PDP guy maybe swayed to his side believing that since he is a serious candidate, they shouldn't waste their vote on the PDP candidate but rather on him. But replying and rebutting the accusation has rubbished that traction and mileage the lie had given him,now he only has the obidient wave and anger of neutral electorates to rely on. |
Felabrity:Don't allow peddlers of lies and perdition make u look like a f ool. Even without watching the video, commonsense should tell u the following is the truth: (1)The video was doctored,as is commonplace in Nigeria now where people can post fake videos and go Scots free (2)The video was an old video way before this present election cycle. The 2 above where my conclusions without even watching the so called video. I then took a bit of time to watch it after, just to amuse myself, then realised I didn't hear what they claim he said about obi, only obi name was mentioned and then you could see a crude attempt at editing before the video cuts. People have left their commonsense at home in this season of politics. The mark of a properly educated person is to know not to abandon yours! |
airprinz:What of the yesterdays ![]() |
He even has the intonation |
Anger uncontrolled is very devastating. If you are weak, before you realise it,you have done something so dastardly you can't turn back the hands of the clock. That's when a cold chill comes over you and at that point you realise your journey on this earth will have a bad end behind the walls of a prison. |
This is clowning taken to clownish levels. |
So this is what TheNation newspaper has turned to? I thought I was reading stories peddled by disgruntled men and touts at ₦100 per shot shekpe joints. |
I went to crosscheck who won the presidential election in oyo state and discovered it was APC. So who are these people cursing because by implication it means they were satisfied with how Buhari's APC been running Nigeria including the cashless policy. If the excuse is that Tinubu was against the policy that purportedly caused the death of the presenter, then there is a contradiction in trying to separate the man Tinubu from the party and policies he supported for 8 years. |
kayone2:That aboki or 2 abokis before ajaere were disasters. Under Oshiomhole when GEJ was the president and under other labour leaders before him with previous presidents before Buhari, labour would have gone on countless strikes if any of the previous presidents took one tenth of the kinds of draconian and poverty enhancing decisions and actions buhari has taken throughout his 8 years. Fuel scarce and costly, electricity tariffs increased on several occasions, petrol tanker drivers being harassed by all manners of touts and men in uniform to extort them, food prices through the roof with no palliatives etc. Even this debilitating naira policy with its attendant scarcity would have seen labour gone on strike under other administrations. I only hope this Ajaere "gra gra" is not initial igg because before you know it when the new government takes over and starts churning out policies detrimental to the masses, you may find the same ajaere suddenly going quiet after he must have been settled monetarily or assured of a government position after his tenure or backing to vie for one office or the other after his labour tenure. |
All these failed hungry bloggers. SANs but you couldnt site one in your sh itty thread. You go hungry for blogging kingsways: |
Some of you don't have sense. INEC will cancel a result they have already declared! Only a court can do that and that is what desperate politicians like Rochas and several others have capitalised on;they force returning officers to declare results no matter how blatantly rigged,at gun point or at the risk of being killed.Once declared,INEC is duty bound by law to issue them certificates and once they assume their posts they have the means to bribe judges to throw out whatever evidence their opponent bring. It's the reason INEC didn't declare Doghuwa as the winner of his rep election. If they had officially done,Doghuwa would today be rep elect and only a court can decide otherwise, even if they bring evidence of murder against him. |
I treat stories like this from Nigerian newspapers, online media and blogs with a dose of suspicion. They don't research stories and ask questions before rushing to press. I don't think a company in America can directly export any military grade craft or equipment without approval from the US government and assembly. So this may just be a request from the Nigerian military to the company, getting it actually exported to Nigeria and use by the military maybe a long way ahead |
Tribal:So Tinubu would do 8 years and leave his fellow APC northerners like his present VP Shettima,El Rufai,Zulum of Borno and other northern APC stalwarts that may emerge from now till he completes his tenure and agree to handover to Atiku from PDP who would by then be 84years old!? The way some of you people reason out things makes one begin to wonder if it's sawdust that sits there for a brain. |
Obrigardo:You are just realising? A country where a journalist that was supposed to be trained saw about 1000 voting cards, recovered from a village, all bearing polling units from that ward, not even the entire local government, with her own "kokoro" eyes and was publicly broadcasting that the PVCs she was saying would be in their "millions". Meanwhile the entire PVCs printed for the whole of the state was just under 2million or so. Without even being trained as a journalist, won't commonsense tell any one that even if the entire State PVC got missing,it couldn't be those millions, talkless of just PVCs from just about 2 or 3 wards of maybe total 1500 voting population?! Not just standards, but use of common number six died long ago here. |
This kind of propaganda is too cheap and childish, even by APC's chronic propagandist, lying, deceitful standards. They should come up with something more mature and seeming like what adults can come up with, like:the labour party gubernatorial candidate confesses he "was born in isilangwa in Abia State was brought to Lagos at the age of 8 and in order to be accepted into Lagos State primary school to complete his primary education before going to serve his spare parts master, had to change his name to that of Yoruba". |
Liebermantic:Can you believe even educated people you thought were better enlightened and knew better are even the one's spreading the fear mongering and calling Ibos in Lagos all sorts of names and promoting ethnic hatred and division just because of this Lagos politics stuff. These are people you joked and shared drinks and stories with over a bottle or two, openly promoting anti-ibo sentiments! Scary to know how people you thought you knew can harbour so much hate and venom over a tribe due to politics!! |
One of the several new names that Obi has lifted to position of power and influence. Without this woman vying under LP with obi as it's flagbearer, she would probably have scored less than 10 votes and people would be making fun of her and asking while she contested at all. Now see how God through Obi has lifted her! |
Goodlady:Overdaft will better describe him. Asides shrinking the economy directly, there are many people now stranded, some in depression and some tending towards suicidal because online banking has ruined their personal and business lives through issues of "hung" money;you make a transfer or you are sent money but you neither get it or does your recipient do.Money is just hanging somewhere and your whole personal/business life is stranded. |
Great news! Yakubu,a so called professor that is behaving like a village drop out. Asking the court permission to reconfigure a machine that is one of the exhibits that would be used as an evidence in a disputed presidential election. I remember that this same Yakubu was alleged involved in a fraud in one agency(can't exactly recall which now)he once headed before his appointment.Infact, his nomination by Buhari was opposed, but of course Buhari,in his usual comfort and coziness with characters with past or present fraudulent activities, ignored the opposition and he was confirmed. Let him at worse postpone the election till all the needed data in the bvas machines have been extracted and stored in a secure format with the courts or the CBN. |
You are suspending the Sokoto Rec while those of Rivers and Ekiti where the rigging could be seen by even the blind, still on their seats to conduct another sham gubernatorial elections. Clowns! |
The arch bishop is the one that ridiculed himself by advocating that someone should be voted in just because he has been there and now has "experience". That's a st upid and ungodly statement to make. He deserves whatever insult and allegation comes his way. Thought some of these MOG would have learnt from father mbaka's experience, yet they still continue to act and preach partisanship in their preachings and houses of God! |
Dgreatestt:7 if not up to 10 senate seats and about 40 something HOR seats, making it now a 3 main party assembly, that's quite significant and to be applauded, not made light of. Don't also forget the APC and PDP, especially the former,is likely to lose some seats, particularly in the HOR,where little margins, cancelled wards or polling units results can change the tallies and thus outcome of HOR results. A competitive multiparty NASS,with at least 3 parties having significant members, not just the odd 1 or 2 of a third party,is very good for our democracy. If labour keeps to its ideals and principles, expect more formidable politicians, especially those of means, from the 2 major parties, who are aggrieved for one reason or the other, and also new ones, that have been systematically disenfranchised when competing as nominees under APC or PDP,but have the resources,to also join the LP.The influx of these set of politicians will come because they would now believe the LP throughout the federation, now has not just the "structure",but most importantly, the chance of winning any election it goes into. Imagine LP with 5 HOR in Lagos, where PDP has tried for decades to make inroads, but had at best had 1or 2 Hor.LP winning Abuja senate and 1 of 2 HOR there! These are seats that politicians will strive very hard to win. Don't also forget that though Obi is the arrowhead of the LP and the reason for it's remarkable performance, the Nigerian labour Congress,NLC,officially identifies with the party and don't think would easily allow a situation where people that won elections under the LP banner, like typical Nigerian politicians, decamping to the ruling party at their whims and caprices. I think LP has come to stay and would only grow from strength to strength hencewords, particularly if they can make obi it's continued arrowhead and have another Obi like figure beside or behind him. A Kwankwaso like Northern politician joining the LP,standing beside Obi,would really make the LP a "dangerous" and feared opponent to go into any election with. |
Nigerians and their carefree way of throwing up stupendous figures. The total number of PVCs in that picture may not be more than 700-800,but they have quickly called it thousands to make the story sound sweet. Same way about 2-3 thousand PVCs were found by hunters in an Anambra village, and the person on the tv story,a presumed journalist, assumed trained to report with facts and figures, said the cards she was seeing are in their "millions"! |
ProphetM0hammad:You have taken f oolery to a whole new level. Is it not even haram to use the name of your prophet as a moniker? |
Even if INEC intentions are true, this sounds suspicious, particularly at this time when the tampering of the bvas is one of the core reasons the LP and PDP are arguing as the basis of the election being rigged. This Yakubu is not acting like a professor because if the order is granted and the bvas machines reconfigured,it would just stiffen the view of the opposition and conspiracy theorists that INEC is doing it to wipe off evidence from the presidential elections, casting a permanent doubt on the 2023 presidential elections,no matter what the supreme court decides. |
I don't like the smell of this story. Using going to canvass votes for Obi as excuse and quickly asking for donations are red flags to me. His story of the birds dying maybe true but the link to the election of 25th February, particularly his zeal to vote and win obi for his polling unit, sounds convenient because he knows that's the candidature that would attract him sympathy and thus possible financial contributions. |
onlyonechid84:They would rather take a ₦2.9b or even ₦5b loss than the story gets exposed and they suffer losses running into several billions because many companies and organisations that use them would cease doing business with them and individuals too would stop using their platforms. Don't forget they also have branches in other African countries and news like this of people's funds going missing can collapse businesses. So the deny is expected because the negative publicity will be catastrophic. |
The opinion of a united states ambassador to any country carries a lot of weight. This is a very good op-ed which asides guiding the US approach to the elections, would also make other western nations to keep an open mind about the elections and not conclude outrightly that Tinubu has won freely and fairly. But most importantly, which is what I feel this ambassador's piece was meant to serve,it would make the Nigerian courts, particularly the supreme court,to carefully consider the merits of the opposition cases and not succumb to bribes that would be thrown at them,or deliver any judgement that doesn't make sense,as they have often done with a lot of high profile election cases, because they would know, the US with it's enormous powers and influence, can make the rest of their lives unpleasant,by the kinds of actions it may take, even if it accepts their nonsensical judgement. The presidential election may indeed not be over and Tinubu maybe a president on shaky and suspicious grounds! |
