But a Muslim Muslim presidential candidate was acceptable? Don't come up with you initially supporting Lawan because that also meant you preferred a Northerner supporting another northerner in Buhari.Of all Northerners it even had to be another incompetent, ineffectual aboki in Lawan. Orji Kalu is just an irritating clown. How such a person even won reelection baffles me. |
DaniellaDokubo:Not 1,not one practical idea in this write-up. Just a essay on theoretical, impractical,if not outrightly pedestrian ideas on how to reduce cost I could dissect and throw out each one of them, but will just prolong this post. But for 1 for eg,so you buy cement and keep fearing that the price will go up in future? 8,you use carpet grasses and horticultural plants. So these things maintain themselves, they don't need maintenance? Let me just stop here before I lose my temper again after that lost during the elections. |
PoliteActivist:People like u deserve to be in an asylum, not amongst normal human beings because you are not only brainwashed, but are a lost cause |
That has always been their strategy because it benefits the scamming politician. Okorocha has used it,Wike has used in all elections he is involved it in some ways.Other politicians are and others will continue using it because it has proven a guaranteed success:get the returning officer to declare you winner of an election, even if the arithmetic is incorrect, even if votes collated are greater than registered voters, even if there is even no result sheet.Just get him to declare you, even with a gun pointing at his/her head!Even in full view of people and the cameras!! Once you are declared even with the rigging as clear as the Rock in Aso rock being visible to the blind,no other authority, even INEC has the authority to reverse it, except the courts. The rigged in politicians know this and would tell you to go to court.Meanwhile they get to occupy office and assume the positions, authority and crucially money that goes with it. With that they can easily afford to bribe judges 100-200million or even 500m-1billion for governorship races. These are monies they can recoup from a just allowances or security votes as NASS members or governors respectively. At the supreme court level, what is 9 billion at 1billion each to supreme court justices to a sitting Nigeria president?Nothing! This is why the PDP want the Nsukka result to be officially declared,no matter how flawed, even if elections didn't even hold, let the returning officer just declare whatever will favour it's candidate and they know they are home dry!! |
Zico5:This line of reasoning of yours is embarrassing for an adult. Even if Obi loses at the court, your argument that because labour party performed relatively poorly in this last election compared to the presidential now invalidates any argument they have of having won the latter,is what a child in primary school would come up with, not an adult |
galaxy2020:Fact. The FCT has been a model of election conduct and credibility in Nigeria even before this 2023 cycle |
Workch:Yeah. The urchins now laughing and making mockery of Labour party and Obi for not winning any Guber yet don't seem to realise this election performance has been a phenomenal feat for a 6month Obi reinvigorated labour party. Students of political history don't realise or have forgotten that for about 3 election cycles or so,Tinubu only political dynasty was Lagos, until that corrupt Appeal court judge,Salami started handing him the other Southwest states one after the other. If Obi doesn't phase out or allows the labour party to become like APGA that only becomes active during an election cycle in Anambra State,I can bet anyone by 2027 labour would be an even more formidable foe because the calibre of politicians that it would present would be more formidable and better known and disgruntled or outwitted politicians from other parties, having seen labour is widely represented and can win elections, would decamp to it. |
If labour party takes Abia and Enugu is retained by the PDP,the SouthEast would be an interesting political environment because it means 4 political parties,APC(Imo,Ebonyi), APGA (Anambra),Labour (Abia) and PDP (Enugu),would be represented. 5 states,4 political parties, you can't get it any better. |
dustmalik:Your head is there. Do you recall that telephone exchange? |
yarimo:Though I am supporting the person you quoted, but your statement made me remember a favourite line in an episode of the TV series,"Your Honour",where a corrupt police officer said to his accomplice city mayor after they were found out,"we are in trouble"Jim.The mayor's response was an epic to me;he said "WHO ARE WE?".In other words telling the cop he is on his own and there is no "we" involved. That line still gets me everytime I recall it. |
Ogbuefi2020:Not just Yorubas. Democracy, the rule of 1 man,1 vote and free, fair and credible elections must be forced down the throat of many backward Nigerians. History has told us many Nigerians don't do things out of commonsense and civility, but must be whipped into them. If whipping and forcing it down their brains is what should and must be done, lest we be walking in circles, then it should be done. |
Gucciblog:So where is the result or are you brain challenged? |
Revolution2022:Fact,agberoism didn't start today. May have started in the 80s I think |
Revolution2022:From your narration alone, anyone would know you are speaking the truth and know him well, even if wasn't present in that area at the period you have narrated. |
Another imp peddling view concocted from his sorry black a rse,as news.
The internet should be regulated I still maintain |
Man City may have met another waterloo |
Massiveglory:Though he wasn't the preferred choice due to his age and history of massive corruption,I still felt Tinubu had what it takes,at least to put Nigeria in a far better position than the cattle herder has done, but I am already having doubts about it,from the way he prosecuted the elections and the way he has handled the immediate period after. Imagine twice that garage thug has openly threatened the Ibos in a state that is the basis of all your rise to fame and where you are the undisputed godfather. He has not once come out to openly call out oluomo to order,as even the officially declared president elect and try to dissociate himself from such reckless talk. Also I have maintained that this his talk of more concerned with forming a government of competence than that of national unity,is just a pretence and future defence when he starts appointing one part of the ethnic divide into positions the president has prerogative on. Finally with the now contentious nature of the elections and a vibrant youth that feel Obi was outrigged, his reign,if he still retains the presidency would be filled with turmoil, close scrutiny and severe criticism with every policy misstep, which would be many.A situation will then arise where his ethnic side of the divide would defend him at all cost, even when his policies and actions are found to be bad, because they would feel he is being attacked for being Yoruba, this will further divide and put the nation in daily turmoil. I do hope however that I am wrong in my prognosis of how his government will turn out,but his actions so far, even before being sworn in,is not giving me any sense of optimism. |
27Pushing30:My brother, the thing tire me. Half of threads are either totally fake, imbedded with lies or photos/images doctored. Maybe due to its anonymous nature people know they can get away with posting anything, especially in a situation where the moderators are largely absent in the performance of their duties, even if it's free. |
All these people replying to the imp of a poster, can't you see that that notice is fake! Oro can not hold from Friday to Sunday uninterruptedly, then restarts on Tuesday. The problem I have with this forum is that many people behave like the same illiterates that open many threads, commonsense should point out to you when a post is fake or doctored! |
All you people lamenting and cursing POS agents for their "exorbitant" charges, had better find something else to do or channel the anger energy you are using for better causes, because it's being wasted asides being useless on the POS agents. A POS agent can spend 4-5hours on the same queue others use at the ATM or counter to access the same cash, because they are no longer preferentially being given cash, like it's supposed to be under the original POS policy sometimes they even have to bribe. So after spending half if not the entire day sourcing for cash or buying from the bank or other non bank sources, you then expect him/her to charge you 100 for a 1k or even 2k? Is that any longer a business or a charity? If for eg,you buy something and want it delivered to you,no matter how small the item,do you pay anything less than 1k-1500 for the delivery? No.You know why? It's because the delivery person is charging you for the time not necessarily the value of the item. Face the CBN that has made cash inaccessible and for not giving the banks time or the incentive to upgrade their online banking platforms! |
If Tinubu does one half of the interviews obi does and appears in a single live interview, his supporters would even stone him with the kinds of blabbering and off point errors he would make. Obi is trying to be an ideal candidate or a textbook candidate that does all what the electorate expect, not knowing that that's the same reason Tinubu's minders have always shielded him from interviews,to avoid the gaffes and the exposure of the propaganda of him being knowledgeable and with intact faculties. It's like the 2 most exponents of football tactics: the ideal manager whose team plays the ideal "romantic" football wants his team to have the ball all the time,so they can dictate the play, move to the opponents goal area and score goals. However, there is this other manager that says his theory of winning a match is not to play any fancy football,he prefers his opponent to have 80-90% of the ball because according to his theory,"he that has the greatest percentage of the ball,is more prone to making mistakes". |
Sounds like what Wike would do. Wike's political future is likely to be calamitous. Even if he gets an appointment from the government of Tinubu,if he retains the presidency,at the onset,he cannot exert the same executive influence he had as a governor and won't have immunity,so his only means of defence would be his security details, but everyday of his life when he looks back at all his misdeeds as governor, would be filled with internal and external turmoil. These are the kinds of people that later come down with stroke and live a vegetable life in one Western hospital while awaiting the call of their maker. |
BluntCrazeMan:Another rubbish from someone that thinks he has an idea. When developing and underdeveloped countries are being advised to reduce cost of government by trimming government, this one is introducing more bureaucracy and expenditure. This your 6 vice presidents would be tantamount to presidents of their zones with all the paraphernalia and cost that goes with it:a massive VP complex that can take the size of 2 university campuses,a massive secretariat in another part of town or another state even(to now "balance the states again" with all ministries, perm secs for the various zones, special advisers, security, convoys, assistants,a plane if not 2 at least for each VP,asides a complex for the VP residence.Pure bunkum idea that should be thrown to the trashcan! Someone above rightly said it,government here is seen as an opportunity to amass wealth and not to serve and as long as that mindset remains,we will continue going round in circles. The scam of a cattle herder called Buhari was supported in 2015 because he correctly identified Nigeria's problem, corruption. If he had tackled it by even 1/10th,many of the other problems we have would have either been resolved or in the process of resolution by this his 8th year. But Buhari turned out not only to lack any idea or nerve on how to tackle the corruption he shouted on the rooftops about, but scammishly turned out to be another corrupt, integrity deficit, corruption embracing aboki! |
“There has been talk of a government of national unity. My aim is higher than that. Because I seek a government of national competence.” ~Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President Elect🫡 https://mobile.twitter.com/dipoaina1/status/1636401058636349448
He is just laying the foundation of what to expect in his appointments. Next thing you would see from the appointments that are not constitutionally bound is appointees coming predominantly from a certain political zone and when there are rumblings of discontent,he would now remind people of this statement he made that competence is more important than any vague government of national unity. This post should be bookmarked. |
Roboto11:They don't know. They always come out with 2 impressions, from pure ignorance or poor education: (1)That people don't die in western hospitals like US and most European countries with advanced health care. (2)That people walk to any hospital and promptly get care. It doesn't even take experience to have a better perspective, just mere Google will show that in England people have been in surgery list for up to 2 years, just waiting to have common operations done. To see a primary care physician in UK under the government funded NHS can take u up to 48hours and even more if your case is not deemed serious. Same in US that even with private insurance you still have to wait for some hours. The paradox is that in Nigeria we are still relatively lucky, though it's dangerous to general health in the long run:that people can access many drugs that are supposed to require a doctor's prescription in street pharmacy shops.Assuming all ailments and treatment have to come with a certified prescription, then there would be a crash in the entire healthcare system here because the several thousands that complain of having "malaria and typhoid" everyday must visit a hospital to be seen by a doctor.Imagine that number of patients visiting hospitals daily just because of typhoid and malaria! Yes,the Nigerian situation still has some shortcomings, but bed space issues and non attendance to emergency care patients is not peculiar to Nigeria. |
OmegaAutos:Please, how did the lack of water kill the person? |
SultanOfPuna:I always ask myself, what do people gain from lies and how do Nigerians find it so easy to lie,it's like they see it as a way of life. |
What I am more concerned about is how easy it was for him to get propranolol. Nigeria is probably one of the few countries on earth where someone can just walk into a chemist shop and get any kind of drug he/she wants without a prescription of any kind! Nigeria has a drug abuse problem, just like the US has a gun problem, where any one above 18 can just walk to a gun shop and get any kind of weapon he/she needs, including assault weapons. The Op's problem,at age of 20,can be either of 2 things:nervousness, common at that age of sexual/relationship awarenesss and urge or a drug abuse/misuse problem. Go to a hospital,at least if for nothing, run some basic tests and be examined. |
LegendHero:The countless shitty/fake stories on nairaland. Sometimes I just wonder if actually Seun has moderators in this forum. Even if they are not being paid,at least a moniker should have 5minutes to go through a story &/or the moniker thread history before pushing a story to Fp of all places! |
marlow1962:There is nothing wrong with her or nothing she ain't doing right. Let the sidechick now come to live with the man fully and the wife gets to start living somewhere else,he would also start getting bored with the chick he had been dying for when she wasn't living with him and start chasing or sleeping with another one outside. It's just the flaw with some men that get bored with one they see everyday and need to sleep with one outside to have a sense of fulfillment. |
That's how they start and fall by the wayside. Did the NLC not know there would be a governorship and state assembly elections before it embarked on the original strike. Wont be surprised to know they have been promised some goodies and before you know it you won't hear anything about the strike again, even when none of the strike demands have been met |
CSTRR:At first wanted to wave off this argument of yours, but on deeper analysis with about 179k polling units, average 10 additional votes per unit will give LP almost 2 million additional votes, good enough to actually make it a tougher call, especially if the rumoured(but yet unproven)thousands of rigged APC votes in Rivers and Imo are deducted! Food indeed for thought!! |
