Ibori and wike,what a combination |
baralatie:Lets use the crude oil at the nternational market as a yardstick then make your textrapolations from there |
baralatie:They would buy crude at international market rates, even from NNPC. With no subsidy for them, they therefore can never sell fuel at anything below this ₦400-₦500 range unless they want to run at a loss, then not having money to maintain the refineries, buy parts and pay salaries, before you know it,they have shut down again. Please, let's think this true. Baba ba blabulu made a hasty announcement, but reinstating fuel subsidy will just take us backwards in many, many ways. |
Gangster1ms:Oga,functioning refineries won't make fuel cheaper,it MAY just make it readily available. Fuel subsidy removal would make fuel scarcity a thing of the past and with time prices that were increased due to it will gradually reduce because it's going to drive innovation and creativeness in fuel economy and usage. |
Oh God,this is very wrong. Already there are adjustments going on,transporters that increased their fares by 100% have in some cases reduced it to 50%. Given time, people will find other cost saving measures to take. What NLC wants to do is the stupidest thing at this time for these 2 vital reasons: prices that have increased will never go back to the pre-subsidy removal prices, even if the government reverses course. There would be scarcity of the product during the strike and even after the strike is called off and the subsidy remains. But with this present removal there would never again be scarcity because people would reduce fuel they buy or only buy if they have something important to do with fuel. There won't be hoarding because unlike when insane profits were made from hoarding, you can only make money now if you sell your fuel,so hoarding it won't make you incur losses! Please NLC should rather dialogue with the government on palliatives and maybe salary increase. Strike over a subsidy that must go one day is the most foolish decision to be taken now! |
A partisan witness.a former captain to boot saying he was forced to sign a document |
SoNature:Another rubblsh idea |
This was the same scam and format they used 8 years ago. Yet today Buhari left Nigeria more corrupt than it has ever been since 1914. There usual fall back position when all the humongous corruption under his reign one after the other gets revealed is that "he is not aware";they will now point to this house and the often repeatedly lie that he is a man of modest means with no properties scattered all over Nigeria,to buttress the scam sold about his integrity. |
This sahara reporters self with their usual dose of fake news |
Aonkuuse:I feel depressed seeing what nland has become,a place where stone aged, totally false beliefs are posted as facts and to make matters worse, make it to the frontpage |
ZiiVentures:YES,but with sense |
these are just benefits on paper |
Rubbish! They should go sit their a rses down somewhere. The fuel price increase is unjustifiable,ill-timed and insensitive, but any adult in Nigeria who has witnessed the series of fuel price increases and the attendant strike by the NLC right from the days of Oshiomhole, will know the strike has never achieved anything other than postponing the evil day. Why?Everytime the NLC strikes forcing goverment to reduce the pump price, transport cost, cost of goods and services that were increased due to the original price increase, never go down to the status quo before the increase. So at the end the strike action and slight reduction in the increase don't achieve nothing. Another reason why the strike is uncalled for is that with this astronomical increase, innovative ideas on how to manage fuel bought for vehicular and other uses will quickly crop up. Alternative means of transport and ways of working, for eg,walking at home, online delivery of goods and services, will also crop up. Even in the long run, maybe 6months or so,the pump price will also reduce to some extent, maybe 400.Though still high, but the number of fuel stations that will see a drastic reduction in fuel being bought, will also force marketers to find ways to attract customers and no one loves anything better than getting a service or product cheaper elsewhere. Tinubu has done his worse,as expected of a senile, overly excited man,but let's show the well choreographed, never dying spirit of the Nigerian. Anyone that isn't a thief, politician or criminal into kidnapping, rituals or Yahoo that survived 8 years of Buhari,I believe can survive whatever ill-conceived ideas Tinubu has. NLC strike is uncalled for, unjustified and will only set back innovation, ideas and inventiveness the subsidy withdrawal will bring. Someone is already seeking fuel economy ideas. For eg,if u are used to running your gen throughout the night, you would need to reduce that.At work places, instead of using AC throughout office hours, fans may need to be used, same with AC running constantly in cars. |
This man has a problem. Either due to drug use or overexcitement or even pyschosis,he just felt he had to say there is no more subsidy when the presidential, normal person course of action would have been to allow the subsidy removal to logically be done with or he gives a month or so after discussing with the all relevant stakeholders to abreast them of the government stance. |
Melezenawii:Is this a joke or what? They don't understand what market based economy is? The stations have a right to sell at the price they feel is appropriate. The announcement by baba blabulu was rash and not properly thought out,but going back to the subsidy regime is out of it because prices that have been increased as a result of the subsidy removal, will not be reversed by the average greedy Nigerian,if the subsidy is reinstated or a higher, but not totally deregulated price fixed. The only downside to this subsidy removal is that Dangote may enjoy monopoly of supplying petroleum products to the country,so may fix the price at whatever he wants. |
what an inrterestjng question |
We told them. They expect Dangote to sell fuel at ₦250 or even ₦300 naira? Clowns. Ideally in a fully deregulated economy and other refineries operational, fuel should be fluctuating between 300-350,but with another Dangote monopoly set to come to play with a product as essential to the economy as water is to the body, expect ₦450-₦500 and when Dangote runs into production hitches,as may happen from time to time, you all should brace up to a point before the next 1 year when fuel would sell for ₦800-₦1000/litre. |
This is not the kind of news one should post withoutv being sure |
What people do, especially ladies into online business is send goods via despatch rider to any buyer after successful financial arrangement. How can any sensible lady agree to meet a guy in a hotel, not eatery or bank or open place,to sell goods. The story cannot and doesn't sound true. Something went wrong and the goods story is just a cover up. You may even be blackmailing the guy |
Very funny. Buhari with all the propaganda and lies about him as having integrity and being non corrupt left Nigeria a more corrupt place than GEJ,what more an openly corrupt and former drug dealer that cornered all lucrative revenue yielding avenues of Lagos State, supported to win the presidency by the likes of Ganduje,Akpabio, outgoing Kebbi state governor, etc, people who are personifications of top rate goverment corruption and sleaze, and his drug sniffing utterly corrupt son,who would be the defacto COS to his dad! Clowns!! |
Galaxydon1:Don't blame them. Blame the useless moderator that dimmed this rubbish worthy of a FrontPage. |
OLAADEGBU:\\ this one is sick |
Good for everyone |
iSense247:You have created 2 threads with the same rubbish hypothetical question when commonsense should tell you that nothing like that would happen this Friday. Even if the SC is to disqualify Tinubu,as someone with a functioning commonsense, you should know it definitely won't happen tomorrow. Some of you open threads that just make you look like illiterates from the village! Disgraceful!! |
coputa:I not for one day ever expected fuel price to drop and I even posted a year or 2 ago that Nigerians should rather expect a rise in fuel price because CBN won't be giving importers preferential exchange rate to buy fuel. The new policy template is that you can import fuel if you must but you source your own foreign exchange because we now have a refinery producing enough fuel.Of course the parallel market exchange would make importing fuel costly,so they all fall back on Dangote who of course would not sell fuel at subsidised rate, but rather at near market rate or at best goverment pressurised local rate for a year or 2,before going full deregulated rate. Expect fuel at least 250 for a year or so,then at least 350-400 after. |
This dull looking dunce has come up again with another of his stone aged economics. If the refinery will bring in foreign exchange,as is claimed, you don't need to force or beg him to sell at favourable rate.As long as the dollar is entering the market,it will sell at good rate because this time around Dangote won't be the only source of foreign exchange, there will still be majority and substantial earnings from sale of crude. The only message this dullard wants to pass is that goverment should quash the subsidy regime because of course it would benefit the likes of Emefiele substantially because I bet anything,he has a financial stake in this refinery, aside the billions of dollars he made the CBN to pump into it. The other day the fraud told people Dangote has started repaying loans from a refinery that hasn't sold one single litre of fuel. |
