Useless, old people. That's how they throw figures up and down like illiterates gossiping in a beer parlour. Does he know what ₦22billion cash looks like. Yes,a Nigerian government official can stack up to ₦2billion,but ₦22b cash in the house is just pure fallacy. |
greenermodels:You must be privy to the family because I didn't see anywhere in the story where the age of the girl was stated. |
gratiaeo:From the narration, the girl had been taken to the driver's house on more than 1 occasion. Why would any well brought up child allow herself to go into the house of a man;not even on one occasion. I repeat,no man can rape ANY lady, unless under threat of a gun or weapon. The violence and struggle any attempted rape without use of a weapon will attract will scare off any man. Again, the father was unhealthy and the tussle he had with the driver tipped him to the other side.I also repeat, people should avoid violence at any cost, many people in Nigeria have serious health challenges and any little stress tips them to the grave. So if you are unfortunate to have had any quarrel, talkless of even a physical confrontation, the Nigerian police that have an averse relationship with the word "forensic investigation",will just use you to develop their land or uncompleted building or solve their numerous family issues. The devil was just strolling by and located that unfortunate driver. |
They stoned the governor but applauded the man that bribed supreme court justices to impose his candidacy even when he didn't contest the primaries! Clowns!! This has nothing to do with the rejection of the disaster that is APC,but a power play by politicians. Watch as these same clowns troop out that day to vote for the same APC that has come out with one disastrous, life threatening and sucking policies after another!!! |
This thing looks like a tragic comedy. People are dying, businesses are crumbling, people are starving, not just because they have no money to pay for their immediate life saving needs or services, but because a cattle herder and a disastrous banker ganged up to implement something without thought or commonsense. |
Brendaniel:Na so! If they had forced the girl to participate in the march past, the same lots would have called the school callous and below standard for trying to pry into the private life of a teenager or forcing her to do an activity when she stated it clear that she wasn't feeling fine. |
I still don't understand why the father even rushed to start blaming the school for the daughter's death. The statement he put out sounded like that of a man who has a personal grudge with an individual in the school and his daughter's death was the opportunity to vent his pent up anger. A responsible parent should have emphasized on the need for autopsy, but here the school is saying the parents were rushing to make burial arrangements. The girl's death is very painful, but I find the father's response raising a lot of red flags. |
A supreme court that turned simple arithmetic on its head in the Uzodinma case is expected to always be a kangaroo court of the highest bidder |

Even IF Tinubu wins the general election,I am sure he's going to lose Lagos and Abuja. These 2 cities have been known to vote against candidates they deem don't have the capacity to rule. Obi will win in Lagos and it will a tough fight between him and Atiku in Abuja. This election will be won and lost in Katsina,Bauchi,Borno and Kaduna, unless Obi can galvanise the SouthEast to massively come out that day to vote. The problem the SEast has is not about having low voting population,it's about them turning out massively. If the passion for Obi can bring out massive numbers there, the margin of victory there would neutralise whatever Katsina, Bauchi or Borno can give either of Tinubu or Atiku. Kano's margin of victory for either Atiku or Tinubu will not be that great to substantially affect his fortunes.Asides that, obi won't do that badly in Kano. |
In the horror of this tragedy, there is also a lesson to employers of labour, particularly domestic servants:try to treat them well but if you suspect them of being unhappy or always complaining, find out the cause of their happiness or complaint, solve them and if you can't pay them off Your cook, driver, children care givers, gatemen are sensitive positions. If you can't afford to pay them a reasonable wage, don't employ them. Imagine employing a cultist as a driver, gateman or cook. |

thebosstrevor1:I tried helping you to show you what to edit, but being true to type as usual, you messed up again. |
Googledotcom:Many people are in the same situation as you. That is why I was highly disappointed when Obi voiced his support for the retention of the 10th February deadline. Atiku doesn't send,he is ready to do anything to ensure he wins the presidency, which is a pipe dream. He can even call his mother names to achieve his aim.So he stupidly believes it would actually curb vote buying. But Obi should have known better, seeing the suffering of the common folks, who are the ones even rooting for him;seeing the enormous damage it's done to our economy, himself being a former banker and giving the impression being well grasped in economic matters,he should have expressed reservations about the policy. Now small businesses are in dire straights, many people don't even feed because they don't have the cash to do so. The ironic thing is that the scarcity would even now benefit vote buyers because they now have to spend less to buy votes.Just give anyone that can be bought a few of the new notes to solve their immediate needs and they have won that vote. |
An educated person would rather ask the question this way:'after one candidate wins, what happens to the supporters of other contestants?'. Or to narrow it down further, knowing the main contestants,'after one of Atiku,Obi or Tinubu wins, what happens to the supporters of any of the other 2 that loses?' It's only a d ullard that would ask the question the way you did. thebosstrevor1: |
Dripty:This story stopped being interesting and indeed childish at the point you said lecturers go around asking students that want to pass the course to come and pay. So all these have been happening down the years and none of the several hundreds, based on the estimation of your narrative, have been bold enough or intelligent enough to get evidence against them. Yes,there are lecturers that seek sorting in different ways before weak students will pass their courses, but if you dig deep,u would actually come to realise that 95% of students that sort are those that would still fail the course if marked by external examiners. They now try to blackmail the lecturers by claiming demand for money or sexual favours as being the reason for their failures. Even if a proper statistics is taken,it may even be that up to 60-70% pass the course, the hall looking jam-packed just gives a wrong statistics of the pass rate. No matter what, even a drunken lecturer can not brazenly go about telling students to come and see him/her if they want to pass a course. |
Naijanascam:Don't be too sure and don't be in a rush to praise the legal system there. The processes looks well laid out and iron clad, but sometimes at the point of judgement you would be surprised with what some of these 'impeccable' western courts and judges come up with. Wait till the defence starts it's own case and see how all these evidence and witnesses that look open and shut, starts having holes and discrepancies picked in their stories, that starts to create doubts. So it's still a 50-50 case, the Ekweremadu's may still be exonerated for all you know. |
julaion:This looks photoshopped or doctored. Just look at Otedola and the way he is standing. I even doubt all these people would pose with Obi at the same time. There is even no event that would have brought all these people together with Peter Obi. |
Switruth:You believe this story? I bet you it would be found to be a lie and the picture used here to be that of an old incident unrelated to the burning of the bank. Believe all these hungry bloggers at your peril. |
Mynd44:Rubbish! Inverter you can't use with pressing iron. Inverter you can't use to pump water or if you manage to do after 4 uses the inverter starts having problems. Inverter you can't use microwave, freezer or even moderate power equipment with. Even with a ₦1million set-up,every 2 years or less you got to buy new batteries that will set you back at least 350-500k. The inverter "scam" in Nigeria reminds me of the electricity product MTN once sold that could only light your bulbs but you got to be buying data to recharge it! Rather use a generator with all the noise than buy those things they call inverters in Nigeria. |
nicerod:Interested in this. Your contact details. Preferably whatapp |
If truly she died,it must have been from the complications of the abortion, not any cock and bull story of sniper. Suicide by sniper is a slow, agonising process that takes a few days at least,if not quickly managed. Anyone that says he/she knows someone that took sniper and died that same day from it,is either ignorant or a bloody liar. |
Badabada:Mpi. Is it not from little financial crimes they graduate to stealing billions? If majority of the politicians today had been prosecuted and convicted when they committed their little crimes,we won't be having the likes of 60% of today's politicians who are now full times thieves, vying for office. |
oyin44:Are you that easily hoodwinked? |
Though it's terrible but botched surgeries happen all over the world. Just watch the program "Botched" on DStv to know failed plastic surgeries happens, even in the western world. The Surgeons you watch correcting some botched surgeries cost a hell lot and it doesn't even mean they had not done failed surgeries before, just that they have got more skilled and experienced over the years, sometimes acquired even from the mistakes they too made while getting more skilled. P.S.Now even reading the story is fake. Until publishers of fake stories and news are punished, these kind of rubbish will continue being posted on the social media. I long gave up on nairaland long ago as a medium for truthful information. Anything goes here so every story on NL I treat as fake, till published or sourced from media like Punch or Premium Times, but definitely not likes of People's Gazette or Sahara (Shekpe joint) Reporters. |
Can't even remember the last time I even glanced through the online version of The Nation (which is free),talkless of seeing the print copy in Newsstands. Any news medium that is acutely partisan and to make matters worse, can post lies,is so abhorrent. No doubt news media outfits can lean towards a candidate or party, but to now openly publish lies, doctored pictures or outrightly fabricated ones,is so distasteful and nauseating. |
Ravenglass:Ok.But still doesn't stop SR from being a trash, glorified blog |
SR with trash as usual. How many branches of zenith bank closed that has turned to "zenith bank branches"? Once a trashy medium, always a trashy medium. |
That's not wise. I am disappointed by this remark of his. If he is supporting it because he feels it would actually stop vote buying, not only is he being naive, but he is distancing and alienating himself from the enormous pain and suffering this is causing. For also an acclaimed manager of resources and an economy promoter,I am more disappointed because he should know,or at least I assume he should, that this policy alone has cost the Nigerian economy several billions if not trillions in economic activity. It's like a South Easterner supporting the weekly sit at home, when he/she is expected to know that the region is an economic hub that is dependent on the daily business and economic activity that goes on there and not by government employment or establishments.Even some small scale business owners and market men/women depend on the sales they make daily from the few that work in the public sector,so when these set don't go to work, they don't earn a living for that day.4 of such days in the month can be detrimental to their means of livelihood. |
Here a simple excuse of having headache and request to travel abroad,by a politician or big shot in Nigeria, and viam, the judge grants them their request! |
How anybody even thinks this was an intention to curb vote buying, beats me. It's even easier now,and cheaper to buy votes. Where a politician would have spent 10k per voter with the old note,he/she just has to offer 3k of the new note and he has bought the vote of some electorate. This is asides the harm it has done businesses. In a country where every government, office or political post guarantees you can have access to easy, unaccounted money, the f ools in today's government don't know what it means for the small to medium scale company, self employed person or the market man or woman,to go a day,not even several without transacting any business. That's why they don't realise this currency fiasco alone has set back the Nigerian economy hundreds of billions in lost economic activity. When you have a cattle herder at the helm with a wannabe central bank governor, this is the result |
gfelo:That is,after saying something sensible,he just destroyed it with the most nonsensical statement. How can anyone contemplate voting for another criminal aboki. Despite anything anyone says, look at the history of rule of Northerners,it has never benefitted this country. I have always said it,for GEJ to be a better president than any other president in Nigeria, shows that one must have been horrible. GEJ was crucified because of the obvious corruption in the government and the exposures that came with it. But I bet anyone by the time Buhari leaves office, corruption, the one narrative he scammed Nigerians with, would be humongous |
