We are happy that you're doing these things. We are happy to share in your joy. "Wrestling", heh? wink

Ok, hmmm, you could suggest an recreational/social outing to a place he'll enjoy as a man, or you could volunteer to accompany him to such an outing. I'll think of some more today and get back to you tommorrow.

Ok, I've checked it and now it's working.

So, please I'd like to know more about the company behind the website. The UBA Insurance as well as the consulting company designing their site. We first of all have to verify the authenticity of the site before we start reviewing
TV/MoviesRe: Doctors Quarters (DQ) on DSTV by Seun(mod): 1:49pm On Nov 11, 2005
I'm still searching the net for information on Kate Henshaw's sack with little success. It seems as if her character died.

Can anyone supply the list of characters in Doctor's Quarters and a short description of each character as well as the actors/actresses playing them?

I've noticed that you like multi-colored posts. Well, um, it's ok as long as you don't use abbreviations!
Car TalkRe: Let's Talk About Flying Cars! by Seun(mod): 1:32pm On Nov 11, 2005
The question is not whether such flying cars are possible; the question is whether such cars have any advantages over the alternatives. That is, compared to a car or airplane:
- Is a flying car more economical?
- Is it safe?
- Is it more convenient?
- Is it necessary?

Ecomonics: A flying car would be more expensive than a medium-sized airplane, just as a modern-day car is more expensive than a bus or a train. The greater the number of people you can pack in your vehicle, the cheaper it would be for each person.

Safety: Each time your flying car has engine trouble, instead of just parking it at the side of the road, you will have to initiate an emergency landing. If cars are flying all around the city like in Star Wars movies, then anytime a car crashes veers out of control, it will probably hit several other cars and land someone's house (or head).

Compared to an airplane pilot, a average flying car driver will be an amateur. Sometimes some people will want to drink and drive, and sometimes they'll hop in while they are not fully awake.

Convenience: Flying a car in congested airspace cannot possibly be convenient. One small mistake and you're dead.

Necessity: Even in large cities like New York, people are using cars and efficient public transport (trains etc) to move around from place to place quite satisfactorily. In addition, there is a movement to create public cars which you can pick up along the road and drive to specific destinations that an electric train or bus won't reach. And there is also a movement to make more jobs suitable for working at home.

Therefore flying cars, in addition to being uneconomical, unsafe, and inconvenient, are unecessary in the concievable future.

RomanceRe: Best or Worst Pick Up Lines You Have Ever Heard? by Seun(mod): 12:59pm On Nov 11, 2005
There's no such thing as a good or bad pick up line. The effectiveness of your line depends on how attractive or rich you look, whether or not she's seeing someone else, whether she knows you, what she knows about you, her field of study, et cetera.

If someone like Denzel Washington wants to pick up the average girl, he doesn't need to say more than "do you want ..." before he gets "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!!"

Ladies, all I know is that 10% is mine!! As the high priest ... grin

On a more serious note: alheri, please tell us your story, but note that only true stories are accepted. The lessons we would draw from the stories will be misleading if the stories are not real.
TV/MoviesRe: Doctors Quarters (DQ) on DSTV by Seun(mod): 12:15pm On Nov 11, 2005
It's a pity that many of us don't have access to DSTV. I really loved the adverts in the newspapers, highlighting the faces of the actors especially the popular Kate Henshaw. The funny thing is that when I had a short period of DSTV access, I wasn't interested in the programme. Maybe it's because one of the reasons why we buy DSTV is to be exposed to foreign cultures apart from ours ...

I also heard that Kate Henshaw has been sacked, and probably replaced. What do you know about this?

Christianity EtcRe: Some People Believe in Evil Spirits Yet Don't Believe in God by Seun(mod): 12:06pm On Nov 11, 2005
I can now understand why western countries provide free education for everybody and make it compulsory up to a particular level. If you don't educate people up to a level, they won't be able to make informed decisions - instead, they will make decisions based on superstitions and false beliefs which may be harmful to the nation as a whole. Wow!

goodguy:
Even the proclaimed Bishop David Oyedepo, the pastor of a church with the largest single auditorium in the world, once had a personal encounter with a witch.
Goodguy, this man is a full-time bishop. Why won't he have personal encounters with witches and wizards? huh

goodguy:
Remember, these scientists that bring up these trash don't also believe in God. (only few of them do).
And remember, most of the people that claim to have experienced the supernatural are people who make a living from it ...

Thanks for introducing youselves to us. We are ready to promote you to the high heavens, if need be, but we will like you to interact with us honestly, as individuals, and as friends.

For instance, I would like to know if it's Titi that posted this topic, because I'm loving her already. Titi reminds me of Fergie in the Black Eyed Peas. In fact, they are exactly alike as far as I can tell. The only difference is that Titi, being a Nigerian, definitely has more talents at her disposal ... wink

Among the boys, B-eazy looks like a bouncer, DJ TnT looks like a Police officer, and Myth looks like the kind of boy that would steal my girlfriend with a wink. Bad, bad boy!

Ok, here's the thing: it's amazing how far one can go in talking about a hip-hop band without actually listening to their music! Now I'm going to go ahead and listen to 'Shakara' and I hope it lives up to my expectation, or else!

HealthRe: Eating Disorders In Adolescents! by Seun(mod): 9:01pm On Nov 10, 2005
Hello Michelin,

Thanks for the information. My bet is that if you meet a skinny Nigerian child and ask her why she's skinny, it's going to be either:
1) Heredity.
2) Suffer suffer!
EventsRe: You Forgot Your Girlfriend's Birthday, Now She's Angry by Seun(mod): 4:49pm On Nov 10, 2005
That's a god way to retaliate but not a good way to have a happy relationship. if you want to be hapy with someone, large doses of understanding and forgiveness are required.
FamilyRe: My Husband's Affair and the Bellview Plane Crash by Seun(mod): 4:38pm On Nov 10, 2005
First of all, you will agree with me that this is a profesionally written story - a woman facing such family crisis is unlikely to write in such a polished manner. Whoever wrote this story probably writes for a living!

Ok, now to respond. The woman in question should ask her husband what he sees in Moni (in a humorous manner) and let him know that she's ready to compete by being 10 times better than Moni in every area. THis process will take years to work.

If that doesn't work, or she's unwilling to eat humble pie, then the marriage is doomed: she should start thinking of moving out on her own. I mean, the kind of hell on earth marriage that this woman is living is probably not worth it!

FamilyRe: Best Way to Punish Kids? by Seun(mod): 2:37pm On Nov 10, 2005
Desperate housewives? Movies are not meant to be realistic, they are meant to be entertaining.

I am yet to meet a small child who is a little demon. All the demons I have met in my life have been women above the age of 16 who have been brought up in the "Nigerian" way. (The Nigerian demons of wickedness have passed from father to daughter through many beatings!)
TV/MoviesRe: The Portrayal of Africa/Africans in Hollywood Movies by Seun(mod): 2:29pm On Nov 10, 2005
Everything you have observed is a product of hollywood's attempt to entertain - there is no central agenda to portray Africa in a certain way. Movies are not meant to portray the realities of life - they are meant to be entertaining, so they can sell millions of copies, and sometimes you have to twist reality a little bit in order to entertain people.

No, I do not
feel annoyed, because we are free to create our own movies and protray Europeans and Americans however we like, too!
TV/MoviesRe: 'Naruto' Fever in Nigerian Universities by Seun(mod): 2:06pm On Nov 10, 2005
I've already mentioned www.narutocentral.com - each anime episode you download on that site weighs only 34 megabytes (instead of the normal 175mb). And you don't need bittorrent to download from them either.
