Alladin, the problem is very simple. The lady as 'classified' you as a friend, and she values your friendship. Due to a faulty understanding of the nature of healthy romantic relationship, she is afraid that if she gets romantic with you the romance will eventually fail and she will lose your friendship also.

Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing you can do to fix this problem, sorry. Unless you leave her for maybe 12 months and then when she's really feeling your absence, you come back as a Romeo and not as a friend! Because, where dating is concerned, women value [a]drama[/b] and romance over stability, loyalty and faithfulness, which are qualities of a good friend.

Boyfriend/girlfriend relationships should not be taken too seriously, especially when the guy is not in the position to get the two things a young Nigerian man wants from a girlfriend: premarital sex and food!

I don't like this sort of generalization at all. Perhaps all [I]your boyfriends[/I] have been cheats and liars, but this doesn't mean that all men are like that. As we have noted in the past, it takes two to tango: before a man can cheat against his partner, he must find a woman who is willing to join him in the act.

Is lying right or wrong? I thought fidelity is one of the foundations of marriage. Why go through all the trouble of getting married in this 21st century if you're not going to be able to stick to your partner.

If you're running an open marriage ("a marriage where both parties agree that they are permitted the right to have sexual relationships outside the marriage, without regarding this as sexual infidelity." then it's ok to have an affair. Otherwise it is not. I think it is wrong to be deceptive to someone that loves you dearly. I think that vows, once made should be kept. If you can't keep the vows anymore, then go and annul the vows first. First tell your partner, "look, I want to go and sleep with another person" .

This web-site runs on a Linux-based (virtual) server which I run remotely, so I'm quite used to the the idea of Linux as a production server.

However, as a web administrator I cannot run Linux on my desktop because 87% of the visitors to my website use Micrisoft Internet Explorer, which of course only runs on Windows. It is easy to get the open source software products which usually run on Linux (PHP, MySQL, Apache Web server, etc) to work on Windows, but you can't get popular Windows software (e.g. office) to run on Linux!

Dual-booting between Linux and Windows only works when you work primarily on one OS and use the other for learning or playing games. When I was studying at OAU Ife, I used to run Linux as my primary OS and WIndows for playing games and movies! I had friends who ran Windows as their primary OS but would occasionally boot to Linux just to 'learn UNIX'.

However, as I'm typing this I don't even have any copy of Linux on my hard drive because there's no point switching between the two operating systems when all the open source software I want to use can equally work on Windows! So, for now, I can only campaign for the use of Linux on servers!

The keyboard and the branded case for Zinox computers are specially customized, too. I don't know if other components are. They also produce some laptops, which I assume would have a lot of customized components also.

Who cares? If it works, is affordable, and it comes with a good warranty, then it's good enough for me.

I have a funny feeling that you are talking from experience! But the conventional wisdom is that women are usually the first to ask for help or advice where a relationship is concerned. Even companies like Dell and HP could be said to be assembling their PCs and laptops since they don't actually produce the components. The components are produced by their predominantly Asian suppliers and assembled by technicians.

Good point. So why do you think I am running this pro-virginity campaign? To encourage the girl not to sleep with 1,000 men in the first place, so she won't have to tell any lies to cover it up.

First of all, there are things a doctor can do a few hours after a rape to make pregnancy impossible. But because of the unecessary stigma attached to rape the girl may keep quiet and not tell anybody, which makes the doctors not to get to do their job. So a rape should not lead to pregnancy if doctors are consulted. The real danger is the possibility of getting an STD or AIDS .

Anyway, if a girl is raped and due to not knowing what to do she ends up pregnant, well I still see her as a virgin. So in my book it is possible for a virgin to be pregnant. It is not the membrane that is the big deal for those who make virginity a serious issue. It is the act. A virgin that was raped has not yet had the opportunity to do what we are saying ppl should not do.

If you take a bag of money out of the bank, is it robbery? Well it depends on whether the money is yours! If you kill a man is it murder? Well it could manslaughter, or self-defence, depending on the circumstances. In most things in life, the question "how" matters as much as "what".

The name of the local manufacturer you're trying to remember is Zinox Computers, and their official website is at: www.zinoxtechnologies.com. They are responsible for a very small percentage of computers bought by small businesses or individuals in Nigeria. (They are mostly patronized by the government and some very large companies.)

Why would you like to know the number of computers in Nigeria? Does it really matter?
