The National Association of Nigerian Students on Tuesday, June 26, condemned the latest attack in Plateau by suspected herdsmen which left more 80 people dead.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that three council areas in the Plateau were attacked leaving scores killed, several others injured and property and homes razed by the attackers last Sunday.
In a statement issued in Enugu, the association condoled with the affected families, government and people of Plateau and urged the Federal Government to urgently address the issue of killings in the country.

A lady identified as Chinyere Odum has been arrested for dousing her 14 years old son, Prince, with kerosene and setting him ablaze in Amuzukwu Ibeku, Abia State.

It was gathered that she took the extreme action because the boy stole a neighbor’s MP3 player. She was said to have tied Prince up before settling him on fire. The boy is currently on admission at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.

Chinyere, who has a history of beating the victim with firewood, was subsequently apprehended and handed over to the police. However, in a twist of events, Prince pleaded that his mom should be freed, as he was at fault for stealing.

We both met each other last year during admission struggle. Eventually we both were admitted into the same institution and I now had to use that opportunity to build a career relationship with her as we both have four years ahead to round up our goals.
She knows I'm not working, I'm just a student. I explained to her that our friendship may not be adventurous and lively but definitely after graduation and we get a good job we'll both be smiling at the end and I'll get her whatever she needs.

The Methodist Archbishop of Abuja, Most Rev. Oche Job, says he admires President Muhammadu Buhari because he is a man that fears no one.

The archbishop’s remark was sequel to the recent signing of four bills into laws by Buhari.

The President had on June 8, assented to the Constitution Fourth Alteration Bill, which grants financial autonomy to the State Houses of Assembly and the states’ Judiciary nationwide.

The law is to ensure that the budgetary allocations of the states’ Houses of Assembly and the judiciary will no longer go through the budgeting process of the executive arm at the state level, but will be transferred directly to the their accounts.

Buhari also signed into law the Bill No. 16 which stipulates that where a Vice-President succeeds a President or a Deputy Governor succeeds a Governor, he or she can no more contest for that office more than once.

Other bills signed into laws were the Constitution Amendment No. 21, which relates to determination of pre-election matters and the Bill No. 9 which gives the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) sufficient time to conduct bye-elections.

The clergyman, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Sunday, said if Buhari “is a man who fears what people will say, by now, he would have become very nervous.

For sure, I commend him. You see, Buhari fears no one and that’s why I like him. He makes up his mind and says and does what he thinks is the best for the nation.

People may not praise him now but by the time he lives the seat, and somebody comes in and they begin to do comparison, they will say if it were in the time of Buhari, oh my God, this thing would have been this.”

He said the financial autonomy for the states’ legislators and judicial officers would ensure accountability at the state level.

“First, the autonomy in terms of finances, I think it is for accountability. So that one is perfect.

It is the best way because if somebody is controlling what you have or you live in fear when the money comes to you, you cannot give proper account of what has been bestowed to you,” he said.

The archbishop said with the signing of the Bill No. 16 into law, the president had justified Nigerians’ action on the 2015 presidential election.

“Let’s take former President Goodluck Jonathan as example. He took part of Yar’Adua’s tenure and by the time it came to him properly, he was elected properly.

When he sought for re-election, people were already tired of him because the period he took from Yar’Adua plus the period he spent on his own which he was elected, people had already known everything about Goodluck Jonathan and they were tired of him.

“Money could not change the minds of the people. And so when I heard about the signing of the bill, I said it is only now that they want to resolve what Nigerians have been covering.

This nation cannot be taken for a ride. By the time you completed the two years which the other man could not complete and you have done your four years which you won, they have known that if you were to fix Nigeria, you would have fixed Nigeria within that six years.

And if things were falling apart, they have correct judgment in their heads to see that you must get out of that place,’’ he said.

He urged that every leader in a position of power should hit the ground running as soon as he or she was elected into office.

“Begin to count your days. I would say that any time you have the opportunity to hold an office, put in your best. Don’t be counting years before you will really show the nation who you are.

“Show something different and that will make them to re-elect you. Deliver dividend of democracy and then you can return to your village,” he said.

The clergyman also said that a good leader must have self-confidence.

“If you must rule and have the blessings of the majority, you need to have what is called self-confidence,” he said.

He noted that though there are cabals in Aso Rock at present, they were not as pronounced as in the period of former President Jonathan.

“There are cabals in Aso Villa till now but they are no longer well-pronounced like before. At the time of Goodluck Jonathan, every time and then, you hear of cabals.

But I think because Buhari makes up his mind and he knows where he is going, he doesn’t listen to people. That’s why the issue of cabal is no longer pronounced like in the past,” he said. (NAN)

Am in a long distant relationship with an older lady. She comes to visit and I also visit. Am 29, she's 32. Age is a number to me so I never really cared. This would be our 3rd year of dating and I already made my intentions of marriage known to her from the onset of the relationship. She has 2 elder sisters, one three years older, the other six years older and they are all yet to be married. So at least I thought she would be so excited to be the one to break the jinx.
Late last year, I informed her that I want us to be a fully packaged deal in 2018. She said OK. In February, I asked her to inform her parents of our plans to have our introduction about April, she said she will wait till she visits them next. She visited them during easter celebration which was in April. When she told her mum, she said she has heard, We should be patient.
Patient for how long? I wondered. I decided to resort to June again but her mother said we should wait, some things have to be put in place. What are the things needed to be put in place? Sheybi it's only introduction we are starting with first, I asked my partner. She said her mum wants to do renovation of their house before my family visits. Initially the plan had been to do both intro and wedding this year as I have met her parents and they have met mine. Imagine my shock when she told me last week that the mother said we should do introduction in September! My partner too now said the wedding will be six months after the introduction! I am shook!!!

Coming to April ..boom ..deal clicked I got paid..I called her to tell her,she was happy. Few days later she voiced called me on WhatsApp. We got talking and then from what she was saying about her new relationship she was already having issues.but she was trying to cover up..

She started calling to know how I am doing. If I have found someone. Told her no.that I wouldn't be dating for a while. She said OK. That's my choice..

Beginning of may she called me saying her new guy is something else that he doesn't give her privacy..that he has her chat connected to the WhatsApp on his phone and he doesn't let her see his own chat that he has so many girls.and now..tpulls up characters when she goes to see him he pulls different habit. I then told her sorry that she should be telling me this and also she shouldnt call me. That she left me for him that I needed to focus on life. She started crying when I told her I have some girls that I might actually date one but not now.



To cut the long story short.she is just finding out that the guy made her feel I don't love or have her time...he only gave her attention just to sleep with her which he did twice...my anger is how do you left a guy you only dated for a month sex you..she has been fighting to come back. She has broken up with the guy. But each time I think of taking her back thoughts of her leaving me and sleeping with that nigga comes in...she is on total regret. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has disclosed that the federal government has generated up to $70 billion from Information Technology investments.

Osinbajo while inaugurating the Technology and Creativity of the Nigerian Industrial Promotion and Competitiveness Advisory Council at a the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, expressed confidence that technology and creative sectors had come to centrestage in Nigeria’s economy, given their actual and potential contributions to growth, job creation and entrepreneurship.

He said though Nigeria still ranked 134 in the ICT development sector, with the creative sector contributing just over 1.4% to Gross Domestic Product, the contribution of the technology and creative sectors is beyond macroeconomic benefits, but encompasses empowering the young working population and preparing them for the digital future.


Osinbajo explained that the Advisory Group was placed within the Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council because the council functions in a very dynamic, inclusive and result-oriented way.

He said the Advisory Group would enable stakeholders to contribute directly to policy formulation, articulation and the design of the technology and creative sectors as well as bring together existing policies and ongoing work at the ministerial level to the presidential level.
