Obiagu1:
I don't know the terms of that deal but if it states that the deal must continue after Southern independence, then if the South reneges on the deal and the North goes to war, the world will not view the North as belligerent and will get total support of the world.
@ Obagui, there is no point in preempting the outcome of the talks, and I don't believe the West would watch idly while the Southerners are being slaughtered. Well, just let's wait and see what the agreement will be. Either way, I know it sets a blueprint for a recurrence.

Read what I wrote: 'Foreign Religions', all monotheistic religions derive from Africa, where it was first practiced, Egypt to be precise, prior to the Arabian conquest.

As I said before,  Black Africa, and the Welfare of Black Africans should always be put first and this will be the last revolution in Africa, where Africans will take a stand. They will awaken eventually.

Hahaha,

Then the North and the South are married forever. For good, bad and ugly times till Jesus comes.
Did I hear someone say amen?
Seriously, I don't care about oil. We are only limited by our imagination, hard work ethic and willingness to generate wealth, produce a surplus.

Nevertheless: South Sudan rules out sharing oil revenue with North

1st point

i never said production has increase,.,. please read my post again,,.,. i said it remained the same because the government has not invested money on the farmers to buy equipments and other things since it is not vaible and makes no sense because of the cost od production to the ratio of the selling price of groundnut and cotton

2nd point

yes i am black first before any other thing,.,.,.  i am not arab which i clearly know and everyone in the north knows that

we have never called ourselves arabian

so what is your point undecided
My point is that I believe it is wrong to place ones allegiance to foreign religions before the allegiance to Africa, Black Africa, and the Welfare of Black Africans. This is part of the reason why Black Africans remain crawling and will never be seen as equal partners by other races.
In the thread below, I asked you the same question:

@1st point

who told you production has diminished huh the production still remain the same only that the selling price is not cheaper because of countries like brazil and co

@2nd point
you might be right or wrong not too sure but in what context are you using allegiance
Production has increased? Thats news to me (or propaganda for you). Moreover, how much arable land is not being used atm.
You also are very aware of what I mean by allegiance, allegiance to the motherland, to Africa, to Nigeria, to Black Africans first.

alj harem:
first of all how was nigeria developed,.,. was it the north that exported groundnuts and cottin which were the major export at that time before we even found oil at all,.,., exporting metric tonnes of cotton and groundnuts
So what has happened, be objective, why has production diminished whilst the population has increased?

alj harem:
secondly, the meat, pepper and tomatoes sold on the street of lagos, aba, port harcount, balysea, kwara, kogi, ebonyi, ibadan and so on,.,. who provides them,.,. or is it crude oil that we have been feeding on all this years undecided
Would it not have been cheaper to import this produce than being in a political union where members of a region do not deem their allegiance to Africa and Black Africans more important than external allegiances?

exactly the north have a vast land that will be very useful when dooms day arrives  our problem is our leaders not notherners cus most of them are even suffering more the southerners instead should question theiir governors what they have been doin to billions of dollars pumped into theiur account from federal govt, bayels is the least populated state yet gets the highest budget but with nothin to show for while anambra with its high population and low budget is doing very well , pls lets shine our eyes people are moving away from oil lets stop fighting and start planing for 100 of years to come when oile will no longer be needed
Have you heard of the saying "necessity is the mother of all invention"? Not all of Southern Nigeria is a swampy and when the time comes they will have to cultivate their lands to make them yield more produce.

But correct me if I'm wrong, are you implying that you will not put the arable lands in the North in order to efficiently produce more agricultural produce and make more effective use of abundant manpower in the North till DOOMS DAY arrives? Is this the plan, to wait till the South no longer has oil?
PoliticsRe: North Can’t Survive Without Niger Delta Oil - Says Minister by ShangoThor(op): 11:35pm On Feb 24, 2011
Good argument, so why aren't we exporting loads of onions, tomatoes, groundnuts like we used to, and palm oil all around the world. Why are we not putting our numbers (population) to use. We should be dominating the world in Agricultural produce right? So much so States wouldn't require handouts.

I have never wanted handouts myself, because I believe in contributing to making my people wealthier, improving the standard of living for all, being productive. How many unproductive hands and mouths are there in total in Nigeria? Isn't this a complete waste of a resource?
PoliticsRe: North Can’t Survive Without Niger Delta Oil - Says Minister by ShangoThor(op): 11:04pm On Feb 24, 2011
People should actually concentrate on their contribution to the National economy rather than focusing on how much they get from the FG.

Nobody should be entitled to handouts, and all citizens should start being productive, start creating wealth, adding value to our economy.

The FG should not be acting as a massive Welfare State!

The Minster of Information and communications, Mr. Labaran Maku has said it will be difficult for the North to survive without the resources from the Niger Delta. Maku disclosed this on Monday at the Lokoja township stadium while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the presidential campaign rally.

I respect that you disagree with the conclusion, however, all you have to do to prove him wrong is to break away and form your own Islamic Nation State where you can practice Sharia Law, sustain an ever growing Almajiri population and cattle herd to your hearts content.

The Minster of Information and communications, Mr Labaran Maku has said it will be difficult for the North to survive without the resources from the Niger Delta. He stressed that except Kano,no state in the North had the capacity to conveniently pay the salaries of its civil servants without resorting to the monthly allocation of the Federal Government, which was largely proceeds from the oil derived from the N'Delta

Foreign AffairsRe: Are Libyans Ignorant Of Their Own Racial Makeup Or Just Plain Racist by ShangoThor(m): 4:43pm On Feb 24, 2011
The only way and time Africans will really start to make PROGRESS is when they begin  deconstruct the identity that foreigners have forced on us and start to redefine our own identity as the Prototype of mankind, the Source of humanity, and we start to take control, exercise ownership of our own property, consolidate our property in order to get the best deals and assertively espouse our uniqueness as the ‘SOURCE of HUMANITY’. Arabs and Europeans come from us. No foreigners are superior to Black Africans, they have just managed to successfully exploit our differences; the gaps in our knowledge, and ability to effectively organize to date .

We now know the truth, the information is there for all to see! What a pitiful sight, Africans squabbling over peanuts when we should be affluent and fulfilled. Damnnnn
Foreign AffairsRe: Are Libyans Ignorant Of Their Own Racial Makeup Or Just Plain Racist by ShangoThor(m): 4:21pm On Feb 24, 2011
Black people, Wake The F*U*C*K up, there are huge black populations in countries like Chad that are completely subjugated, with a SLAVE status.

I asked Aljharem a couple of days ago if he would agree to put Black Africans and Africa before his religion and he said no way.

If the mixed race Africans want to be subjugated to Arabs then that is their prerogative, but they should not be able to drag Black Africans with Free minds with them. Black Africa has to come first, Nigeria will never work because of it. Black African citizens will always be amongst the poorest on earth because of it. Black Africans first, we are the prototype of mankind. We deserve a privileged status, not that of a SLAVE!
Foreign AffairsRe: Are Libyans Ignorant Of Their Own Racial Makeup Or Just Plain Racist by ShangoThor(m): 4:00pm On Feb 24, 2011

@ tpia

The problem lies in the influence they have over Black muslims on the continent and in the South. Black muslims in Northern Nigeria show greater allegiance towards Arabs than Black Africans. Eventually, we either have to take a stand for our survival and the control of our destinies or get subjugated.

If Europeans were resisted regarding ENSLAVEMENT, so should Arabs, otherwise, countries such as Nigeria and the continent at large will continue to be a farce.  How can we coexist with polities that believe that we are inferior and only fit for SLAVERY. F*U*C*K that!
Foreign AffairsRe: Are Libyans Ignorant Of Their Own Racial Makeup Or Just Plain Racist by ShangoThor(m): 3:44pm On Feb 24, 2011
I am so glad this is happening, because it is raising awareness to the issue of Arabic (Asian) imperialism and racism in Africa. Most Africans only think of Europeans when they think imperialism and racism, when the fact is that Arabs had been devastating the African continent and her peoples long before the Europeans arrived, in fact, most Black African Muslims are the agents of their devastation and would not twice about wiping out whole black ‘infidel’ populations on the continent.

It is time for a change to this sleep like condition – Black Africans first – This is the only way that Black Africans will stop ‘crawling’ and start walking ‘tall’. This is more important than ethnic skirmishes or squabbles between us.

1. Black Africans first and the Allegiance to Africa is of paramount importance.
2. Alien religions do not take priority to the Welfare of Black Africans.
3. The Nation State we find ourselves in are more important than the foreign religions we have adopted.

God bless Africa.

Ibitoru A:
I was watching a report on the Libya crisis on CNN yesterday and imagine my surprise when the reporter said that the Libyan president, Muammar Gadhafi had Chad, Sudanese and NIGERIAN militants in his employ. So the situation in Nigeria has become so bad that our militancy has become international shocked
So you seriously had no idea of the connections between those militants and the militants in Northern Nigeria, and the source(s) of the weapons used to wage Islamic incursions in Northern Nigeria.

This is precisely the reason why non Muslim communities will remain sitting ducks in Northern Nigeria and strengthens the arguments related to letting them arm themselves in order to protect their communities.

If the malfunctioning State cannot guarantee security, then constituent communities should be allowed to arm themselves in order to guarantee their protection.
PoliticsRe: Ex-niger Delta Militants Invade Abuja To Protest Unpaid Allowances by ShangoThor(m): 8:40pm On Feb 23, 2011
Being fair (even though I don’t accept the State should act as a Welfare State) it depends on what the terms and conditions of Amnesty were. From their placards I can see that they are demanding:

1. The payment of their Housing Allowance as agreed by the ‘Amnesty Committee’ in 2010.
2. The funding of their Transformation Training.

If the FG promised these things, then they should stick to the agreement.
PoliticsRe: The 'Oppresed Muslim North' May Also Rise Up Against Their Tyranical Leaders? by ShangoThor(m): 3:16am On Feb 23, 2011
Co-existing under your rules doesn't denote 'equality'. This is precisely why you and your kind must go ahead and do your own thing.

I do not want to co-exist with you under those terms and conditions, no, thank you very much.

I believe we should all be equal before the law; the law should not discriminate; and no group should be given preferential treatment over others irrespective of religion, creed, ethnicity and sex.

Africa and Africans come first, if you don't like it, form your own Nation State. It's about extending choice and not imposing a world view.

God bless Africa and her peoples despite the traitors we have in our midst.

Precisely Beaf, and this is the most dangerous majority view that prevails in the Northern part of the country. That is why I carefully wrote my points. I pray that Southerners will wake up and smell the coffee before it's too late. The ethnic skirmishes in Southern Nigeria are NOTHING compared to the threat from the North, and this is precisely why the moderate Muslims will always capitulate to the radicals in Northern Nigeria, because solidarity behind their religion is more important than any thing else.

Beaf:
In other words, religion is more important than the welfare of his fellow man and is considered above the state. A very dangerous and eye opening view; it is easy to see why there will be no Egypt style revolution in the North.
PoliticsRe: The 'Oppresed Muslim North' May Also Rise Up Against Their Tyranical Leaders? by ShangoThor(m): 1:44am On Feb 23, 2011
You have just confirmed my points. Points 2 & 3 are salient, and this goes to confirm why Northern and Southern Nigerians are diametrically opposed. I however respect your opinion to make that choice and I’d appreciate if you can respect my opinion to make my choice. If the Islamic hegemony of Northern Nigeria should form a separate Nation State, adopt Sharia Law and convert to an Islamic State with a significant Almajiri population, and cattle herding, then that’s your prerogative.

However, Southern Nigerians believe in progress, ‘Self Improvement’ and I personally believe in ‘the hard work ethic’, in being productive, in adding value to the quality of life of Black Africans, and so do the muslims of Southern Nigeria, so this is not strictly about religion, but attitudes to life. I accept that there would be ethnic skirmishes in the South, but I do know that it would do a lot better if it is a separate Nation State.

This is nothing personal.

alj harem:
i agree with 1 and 4 but 2, 3 NO

because i am a muslim does not mean i can not co-exist with christians or because you u are christian does not mean you can not co-exist with muslims,.,.,., it all has to do with self control and mutual respect

Brother, I love all Africans, I believe Africa has been exploited by both Arabs and Europeans, and consequently Africa has had, and is having a rough ride.

1. Black Africans first and the Allegiance to Africa is of paramount importance.
2. Alien religions do not take priority to the Welfare of Black Africans.
3. The Nation State we find ourselves in are more important than the foreign religions we have adopted.
4. Zero tolerance for ethnic or religious bigotry.

If we agree on these things above then all we have to concentrate on is fixing our State so it works for all without prejudice

This new wave is something else, and the main catalyst is the modern information age, in other words, it is internet induced, and services and information delivered by WikiLeaks, and Social Networks (i.e. FaceBook, Twitter, Forums and You Tube) have played a crucial part.

For the first time, citizens of the world are getting free unfettered access to information via the internet and this scenario is enhancing the citizen’s ability to effectively organise, protest and demonstrate all over the world. This is an era where the monopoly of State sponsored propaganda is coming to an end as it is no longer feasible for Nation States to control information. There are exceptions of course i.e. China, but in General, the genie is out of the bottle. Basically, the game has changed!

lastpage:
Once again, l am appalled by the level of reasoning of many people on NL!
CAN WE JUST LOOK BEYOND THE SURFACE?
We should not risk coming across as being daft and gullible that we will just swallow ANYTHING, hook, line and sinker!

I apologize if l come across as "rude" (which is generally not my demeanor) but l hope anyone will understand that right now, I AM ANGRY!

WHY?
First: Lets put these whole "REVOLUTION" into context.
1.) It started in Tunisia, got copied in Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Lebanon, (cooking in Syria, Iran) then Libya.
2.) These are ALL Arabic/Muslim countries and we cant pretend we dont know their traditional/cultural/moral collisions with the West.
3.)Apart from Tunisia which was "spontaneous", all other ones are "instigated, propagated, support and even financed" from outside (The U.S announced 2weeks ago or so, it is increasing the amount of money it sets aside to support "activist" (another word for dissidents, saboteurs and foreign agents used to internally destabilize a country) by $30Million. ASK YOURSELF, HOW AND WHAT EXACTLY DO THEY DO WITH THESE MONEY?

4.) if there is "DISCONTENT" with a government in the West (just like we have with Obama V.s the Tea Party recently) do the people "violently overthrow" the government? Do other people finance (or have the right to) finance citizens who are against the current government OR do they wait till the next election to VOTE THEM OUT?
Recent Tuition fee increase in the U.K caused a lot of massive demonstration (and we say it all on T.V), did Nigerian or Egyptian or Russian government "comment, incite or encourage" the protesters? (even some of them were arrested and charged to court for criminal offenses). Why is it different when it comes to "Africans or Muslim countries"? Is it one law for them and another for the Western countries?

5.) Does anyone not know that there have been recent issues between U.K/U.S and Libya, especially with the Libyan, Lockerbie Bomber who was freed so U.K can exploit Libya's oil and then turn around to demand he be returned? What do you think this kind of people will do, at the slightest sign of a "crack" in the polity?
6.)On the issue "BLACK MERCENARIES"; Before now, we are aware that "White/fair-skinned North Africans (including Sudanese in central Africa, reason they recently voted to divide the country!) have a very deep dislike for Black/dark skinned citizens of their countries? Are we not aware that they have these "misplaced superiority complex" and think the darker ones are "lesser humans"? Do we not "experience" the same thing even in Nigeria, with our North-South dichotomy? How much more in North Africa? So, who best to blame for "inhumanity" than the same "black people"?

6.) There have been "stories" of massive human rights violation in Libya. We've heard that "Fighter Jets and Helicopter Gunships" have been used to attack the population. Is this a fact, propaganda or fiction?
Anyone who watched the "Shock and Awe" bombing of Iraq during the invasion will easily see the deceit in all these stories.
These "machines" dont kill in twos or threes, they kill in hundreds and to imagine that they are used on a "street with thousands of Protesters", then the death toll will equally be in the thousands! but so far, we have a tally of just over 200+, after about 3days of "bombing"! grin LKWMD

The Libyan authority has said it only "bombed/destroyed/neutralized" military depots that were ransacked by looters so that the arms and ammunition there-in, would not be put to use against their own security agents. They did not target civilians or any human! But inorder to garner public sympathy, they chose to manipulate the truth, and we all swallow it too?!

7.) Ask yourself, where is all these "news" coming from? Are these sources credible? How come we did not see any VIDEO FOOTAGE of a Jet fighter "IN THE ACT" of bombing people (even if its from a mobile phone). How come its ONLY DEFECTORS that are telling us these "unsubstantiated stories"?

8.) Again, why did the U.K foreign Secretary "set up rumors" that the Libyan Gadafi has ran away from Libya, to Venezeula? Is it not to give a feeling of "fait accompli", that the revolution has succeeded? But The Man himself came out to tell us, l dey kampe  grin Even the Venezeulan govt has denied that farce! What was his interest and that of Britain in this matter, that he had to go that far?

9.) Looking at the picture of the "captured mercenary", do they look like YOU AND ME (being black Africans) or is this just another attempt to "colour me bad", since l am black?
Why are they "emphasizing" the "blackness" of that mercenary? Does Ghadafi have a history of likeness for dark-skinned Africans? NO!
How then can it now be the same set of people that are his mercenaries? Do we not know that Ghadafi has all sorts of trained, private security force (some are even Israelis, female, e.t.c , and can anyone recall the retinue of security men/women, that he brought to Nigeria, just a while ago?).

10.) The government has been accused of severing ALL COMMUNICATION LINKS yet "foreign-based commentators" keep telling us of how they called their family members in Libya, from the U.S and elsewhere, using normal phone-lines? Very contradictory and indicative of a massive propaganda!
Why was the U.S and E.U countries "first, more concerned with whether the new government after the revolution in Egypt, will be friendly towards Israel or not"? Does it not show us that its all about "selfish interest" and not "democracy and freedom" as the West claim?

11)Again, can we not see that "opportunist and traitors" are at work in these North African Revolutions? How on earth can you explain Ambassadors who are selected and posted to foreign countries by Ghadafi, to foreign lands, for years, without complain, suddenly turning against him from such foreign posts YET refusing to RESIGN!
Why did they not "speak-out" before now or when Tunisia was boiling?
Why is it now that they sense an opportunity, that Ghadafi's regime is gasping for breath?
Are these the kind of people that will now call themselves "revolutionist" so they can benefit from whats going on?(and they are all just posturing to grab political offices!)
I detest cowards, traitors, opportunist and turn-coats!
How do you explain all these "foreign-based government officials suddenly stabbing their own government in the back?
Just because they now see where the "wind is blowing"?
You cannot criticize a government that you're a part of (at least until the "People" took to the street). You should resign first and then tackle the government. This is what "fair-play and equity" demands

11.) Why did we not hear of "BLACK SECURITY" people in Libya, all these years, where did they suddenly spring from?
Did Ghadafi ferry them from Nigeria all of a sudden or are they Boko Harram grin

12.) Again, has anyone noticed the "difference in rhetoric" from countries in the E.U and U.S, when they speak about the "protest" in Libya and then in Bahrain! How come the tone is "subtle and reconciliatory" when it concerns Bahrain but very inflammatory, provocative and inciting when it comes to Libya?  (Both are ruled by dictators and sit-tights BUT one contains a U.S Naval strategic base (sixth fleet) and the other has no visible U.S interest!).
In fact, it was Bahrain that sent armed forces to attack protesters, while they were sleeping at the Square, in the night, using live ammunitions but THEY PLAYED IT DOWN IN THE MEDIA, no wonder Ghadafi referred to these media as "Dog Media"!

13.)Again, let us not forget that Libya itself is NOT a homogeneous entity like Egypt. They are just like Nigeria (with a seething undercurrent of civil war between Northern Libya (Tripoli) and Southern Libya (Benghazi areas). Some are taking these "protest" as an opportunity to "divide and secede" from the country. Some of them are very light-skinned while others are of a darker shade BUT THEY ARE ALL LIBYANS!
Some are just trying to 'inject' the ethnic/race/color angle into these protest, so as to gain more momentum.

14.) What happened in Tunisia and even right now in Libya is no different from what happened (is happening now in Belarus), the sit-tight President has rigged elections, killed oppositions and jailed others BUT the E.U or U.S is NOT promoting "chaos/revolution" over there! wink
They know better, that one is Europe naah!

While l do not favor dictatorship, while l am 100% for freedom, democracy and rule of law
, l think there is a "deeper design" than what goes on in the surface. The common man has been used as a "canon-fodder" for too long!
This is the current focus of this rejoinder.

In summary,
*Let us not jump to conclusions.
*Let us "see the big picture" and put hings in perspective.
*Let us not fall for any manipulation by vested interests.
*Let us be 'hasty' to listen but very 'reluctant/slow' to speak/comment!
*Let us be wary of "Western Media" and be able to sift through some of the propaganda they sometime feed us. Remember, you 're only as informed as what you hear or read about! grin
*Let us be wary of those who promote "chaos" in our country (to resolve legitimate problems) but who themselves will never use such method but will  rather resort to democratic and legal means. At the end of the day, we would have o live and pay for whatever damage we cause to ourselves!
*Let us educate people from the West that "Africa" is a "continent" (not one country), made up of as many as 54 countries and counting. They should stop referring to one

BTW: I am neither Muslim, anti-West or a Libyan grin grin
I just choose to  look at issues from a dispassionate point of view.

This is why allegiance to the Nation State (Nigeria) should be supreme to any other Foreign Religion. These same Arabs that sponsor their religions to destabilize our country distinguish themselves from Africans irrespective of them being muslim or not. Welcome all to the world of Islamic Imperialism. Africa and Africans MUST come first. The same thing that happened in Southern Sudan. Wake up and smell the coffee people!

The Northern States that adopted Sharia would be better served to combine forces and form a new Nation State,"you can't have your cake and eat it too".

Damn, that's GANGSTA, lol.

He should have Lawyered up, because it can be argued that his ministerial role requires interacting with the Youth. Nevertheless, thank God though that the subjects in the pics were not young boys, now that would have been a story.
