Nice try Alj Harem, I must say you are coming across as extremely desperate in a bid to jinx a rational transcending cross and multi ethnic consensus from
developing as a response to the mass murders perpetrated by your clans men, or co-believers.

Seriously, it's no big EEEEEE, form your own country!

Par the Trolls on NL that just talk trash in order to breed hatred, most NL posters are annoyingly complacent.
Very few on NL can claim to be surprised by what happened in the North because ,  I told you so months ago, I screamed about this at every opportunity. I had a massive row about the same issue with Mr pROGRESS, himself, ROSSIKE. The Northerners warned Southerners that it was going to happen.

When I was highlighting the need for Southerners to collude, bigots from both the West and East and their f*u*c*k*i*n*g pride and point scoring were throwing mud at each other as if they were primitive forms of demented Gibbons.

Now that the s*h*i*t has hit the fan, I think people are beginning to realize that there was some wisdom in the stuff I was posting.

Fact: The mentality of a section of Northerners to slaughter non indigenous populations in their midst solely due to their 'Social Identity' is not only barbaric, it is also UNCIVILIZED.

It is impossible to coexist in a Union with such a community, and if you choose to ignore these facts you do so at your peril and the main question that will continue to haunt your nightmares will be, when will the next atrocities be perpetrated.

This isssue is about progress in Africa, and is a lot bigger than Individual Ethnic issues. It's time for African Intelligence to reign supreme. It's time for Southern Nigerian intelligence to trump Northern 'Divide and Conquer' and 'Born to rule' concepts. Once again, terrorism is terrorism, whether perpetrated by an individual or a mob! Southerners, it's time to Unite against Mob terrorism!

PoliticsRe: The South Will Never Support Any Candidate From North, Let Them Go If They Wish by ShangoThor(m): 12:05am On Apr 19, 2011
Southern Nigerians have spoken, whether they participated by voting or chose to abstain. They do not want a Northern led government, period.

Ignore this at your peril.

The North is burning because Northerners in general feel cheated out of their birthright to rule this Union, and yet some get carried away on NL
by refusing to acknowledge the existence of a 'South'.

Put it this way, the riots are not due to the fact that they want their leadership to modernize this country, or put them in a position to generate
wealth in order to contribute to the wealth of the Nation, it's just about ruling the country, which is symbolic, they don't care if it's a democratically
elected govt or a military led govt.

Enough is enough, and those that sit on the fence are equally responsible for the status quo.
PoliticsRe: The South Will Never Support Any Candidate From North, Let Them Go If They Wish by ShangoThor(m): 11:44pm On Apr 18, 2011
There is a South, and there was a South before the inception of Nigeria. The enemies of reason will be defeated.
In order to coexist in a pluralistic polity like Nigeria, groups would have to follow rules applicable to all
without prejudice, but since our Northern non-compatriots are not willing to abide by the rules of the Constitution
then it's time for all Southern Nigerians to collude and make sure we are not subjugated in this Union.

Viva Southern Nigeria, it's the end of Northern tyranny. I predict there will never be a Northern led Government ever again.

Southern Nigerians again with the Bull S*h*i*t - It's time to cut the crap.

If Tunde Bakare were to stray into one of these areas, his body would be dismembered and his head would be stuck on a pole because he's a
non-Northerner.

My question is why one sectional group (Northerners), always seem to terrorise citizens from other ethnicities at the slightest disagreement,
or issue of contention or if they perceive that their power (or control) is challenged with impugnity. They slaughter non muslims en-mass and
they always friggin get away with mass murder. Is it not true that the rest of us are being held hostage.

Everything else at this stage is irrelevant. We share a country with Mass murderers that beleive in chopping, dismembering the bodies of babies,
children, women and civilians and they always get away with it. They massacred Igbos en-mass with impugnity and we make excuses, the same in Jos,
mothers and babies with impugnity. Now during the elections, all non Northerners are legitimate targets. This is crap. These fuckers should
be made to pay dearly for their atrocities. These aren't neigbourly actions of fellow compatriots, but acts that clearly state that they are not
willing to extend their humanity to us.

Why do we live in a country with a section of the populace that we are ultimately weary of? I remain a student of history and one thing I have
learnt is that this will always be a recurring problem in Nigeria. What kind of country allows the mass murder of it's citizens but yet can do
very little by way of implementing a response due to the dynamic ethnic makeup of the Nation. Is this worth it?Is it really worth it?

GEJ came into power from a minority group and was installed as President by an "act of God".

How can anyone argue with an "act of God", without being religious, thats the legal term that describes the circumstances of his acsension.

The truth is that the majority of our Northern country folk are not patriotic Nigerians and are self interested. The order
of their loyalty is to #1. Their flavour of religion; and #2. Their sectional hegemony.

This cannot last forever. It is insufficient to hold back over 70 million Africans aspiring for progress.

It's time for Southerners to unite behind Justice and progress, face and repel evil.

I have been screaming this on NL for months now.

Yes you are correct that there was rigging (fraudulent voting) on the part of our Northern non-compatriots by employing the services

Southerners need to join forces and make a stand against Terrorism in Nigeria period.

If you did not see this one coming, then you might as well be an Ostrich with your head buried in the sand.
Your continuous denial will continue to cost innocent lives in the country called Nigeria.

Whether we like it or not, the people have spoken, and I believe what they expressed via the ballot box was
a backlash to Northern domination, and in particular Cabal intereference in the workings of Government.

People still remember that they were not allowed to see their allegedly ill/incapacitated President, and they
also managed to arrest or thwart the natural process of Government by preventing or delaying GEJ's acsencion
to Presidential status.

It is time to acknowledge that the North/South dichotomy is unsolvable and is the main reason why Nigeria has
regressed and under-achieved, afterall, Lugard set this scenario up, it was never crucial for the Northern and
Southern Colonies to be amalgamated.

Once again, terrorism is terrorism, whether perpetrated by an individual or a mob! Southerners, it's time to

The problem with the Nigerian Police is that they do not understand the law(s), hence they tend to make up the rules as they go along.

This is a huge problem, and hence they systematically tend to infringe on the 'civil liberties' of citizens in general.

Concepts such as 'burden of proof' and 'beyond reasonable doubt' are alien to the Nigerian Police, and it is such a big shame that the Nigerian Polity has not risen to the occasion to fight for their rights. It can only be assumed that these very basic principles are are not not deemed important enough by the general population. It's a very weird scenario, The Police do not understand the law(s) or the extent of their powers on one hand, and on the other hand the citizenry either do not understand the extent of their rights and civil liberties under the law(s), or choose not to demand that they should be acknowledged.

This is part denotes part of my general argument that the 'State' and its machinery in the Nigerian context is malfunctioning and needs to be fixed, overhauled or dumped. It is a massive shame that a lot of our citizens get abused and persecuted by the Police just because they can get away with it. This scenario needs to be changed, it is only then that we as Nigerians, and Africans can truly claim that we are 'Free'. If our system permits innocent individuals to be persecuted without dire consequences then it reflects on our whole society at large and it is immoral in my opinion.

We all know that it is not illegal to travel with Laptops on our person, and that there is no link established regarding committing cybercrime, unless one has been specifically reported by third parties or due to matters arising out of a Police led investigation.

The issue of protecting our civil liberties is fundamental and should not be subject to negotiation, afterall, Africans have come a long long way. It was only up till a century ago that Africans were being kidnapped and sold to Aliens. God bless Africa and Africans
.

The integrity of the Nation's State and it's apparatus = compromised

The integrity of the Nations Armed Forces = partisan/factionalized = compromised

The integrity of the FG Police = compromised

Conclusion, if we are not allowed to fix the 'sphere' of the State, the Nation is doomed, and if the Nation is doomed as intelligent beings we need to start planing how we can influence the 'fallout', defined as "subsequent demarcation".

There is no 'pROGRESS' here, and to a large extent it is out of our hands. Those that are trying to delay the inevitable are only interested in increasing the loot that they will be able to plunder as a direct result of the demise of this Nation, it's a completely pretentious scenario.

The was a court case against the man. The main lied when he denied it.

I don't know how Fashola insinuated he was a criminal. From what I could gauge, it appears the reason he wanted to see the governor was to have some man in influence to impress on his behalf about the case.

Fck culture when a reetard wants to use the benefits culture accrues him unjustly. The man is a foooool and should not hide behind culture.

Is a TV governorship debate the place a "respected" elder should be raising questions about being denied his "birth-right" to see the Governor? He is mad. So a self-proclaimed respected elder is using such a medium to settle scores and score points against his opponent under the tag "culture"? So Fashola should keep quiet so the moooron can score the cheap points he is looking for and use the "elder" tag to argue and stifle any reply? He is reetarded!

Fck Culture!
Bingo, the whole thing makes me sick, and we can all understand how we arrived at this culture of ingrained mediocrity, of all the issues concerning Lagosians that Randle could have raised (because believe me, Fashola's regime isn't flawless, but it's obvious that he is heads above the rest of the candidates), Randle chooses this time to raise a personal issue.

This is why I believe the 'Independence Generation' have failed us, as soon as we park them on the bench permanently, we will be able to start to reverse our fortunes, absolutely right, f*u*c*k culture, it's time for change.

Seriously, I can't be bothered to argue about this one, I'd rather spend the time adding to the success of my enterprises. The bottomline is that it is easy to make successful changes to any given scenario if you can make objective decisions in order to make and implement changes. That is why there will always be losers and winners and I refuse to be on the losing team.

^^^I can definitely remember reading your posts pointing out that the timing of the reports were fishy @Shangothor. I guess you may have been right after all. It may have been produced for hype but for whom? I mean it did seem more geared at making Sanusi seem in charge, more than it did Jonathan or even the Finance minister.

However, I do see there is a repeat of the statements of the Naira being overvalued, which we discussed at length on one of the other threads as well. Is this more support for that part of the news  then?
Honestly KoboJunkie, even though I despise the IMF with a vengeance, the salient point I picked up from it is that I think they are right to point out the effects of inflation in our economy. Nigerians pay 3 to 4 times more for goods than their Western counterparts, some people in  Nigeria are seriously getting wealthy by exploiting the system and our citizens and it's not fair. It's amazing to find out what the price of a simple commodity like a bottle of Red Wine costs in Nigeria compared to the West. Nigerians are being skanked big time, the whole system is designed to rip off Nigerian masses and it is not fair.

So not only are there problems of currency value distortion, less jobs, more poverty than there is in the West, Nigerian masses have to pay 3x - 4x more for goods.  This has to be changed.

I’m a neutral and I think GEJ is right because I assessed what happened during the ‘alleged’ Lagos governorship debate, and below is what I said on that thread.

There was no debate!
What I witnessed was an adhoc question and answer session mainly fired at Fashola. Where was the debating? Randle used the opportunity to bring up a personal matter; Dosunmu was asking about published accounts, where was the debate, was there any substance to any of the responses? Do Nigerians actually know what debate means? I weep for my nation this is the best Lagos has to offer and the main challenges to Fashola’s incumbency? Put it this way, the combined incompetence of the other contestants made Fashola shine like the Northern Star.
Its time for the younger more confident generation to take over as the old guard continually display sheer incompetence. This is Nigeria, not the Federal Sharia Banana Republic of Niger Area.
In order to have a purposeful debate we need parameters or a scope set, and meaningful questions should be drafted otherwise we end up with an impromptu discussion!

I'm not really the laughing type but you pull one on me. Darn right pal. Darn right. After you wade through all the academic excuses you can' t help but see it for what it is. THE PEOPLE.  You know what there's a lot the citizens can still do if they are afraid of sticking out their necks out there. Employ modern technology. Look this fight is not for the elderly people. They are tired as you can see. They are also the BAD LEADERSHIP. So if the young people want a better future they should step up and get it from the old and tired  BAD LEADERSHIP. START BY FINDING OUT THE DIRTY AND BRINGING IT TO LIGHT TO GET OTHERS INCITED. THAT'S THE WAY TO GET THE RAGE GOING AND THE BAD LEADERS QUIVERING. DON'T TELL ME NIGERIANS CAN'T FIND THE DIRT ON THEIR CORRUPT LEADERS. IF THEY CAN'T AT LEAST GET THAT DONE,  THEY SHOULD QUIT SOUNDING OFF, BECAUSE IT WOULD BE STRICTLY USELESS AND EVERYONE CAN SEE THEM FOR THAT,  JUST SOUNDING OFF!!! The Older People are just now stepping up in the Libyan uprising. Just now because they are convince that the young people mean business. That's what it is all about.
@ wedapeople, I’ve been watching your thread for days and I empathize with your cause, the problem is that you’ve got recognize that the problems we experience that relate to our ‘Malfunctioning dysfunctional State’ (in a lot of aspects) is sustained by individuals within. In other words it is self inflicted and there are those that gain a lot from the ‘Status Quo’, and those are the same individuals that will constantly argue that we are making ‘pROGRESS’, nevertheless as Stalin said, “in order to make an omelette you have to break some eggs”.

My advice to you regarding planning and orchestrating mass direct and positive action is that it is time to coordinate our efforts. It is worth noting what others are working on as you can see in this thread here : https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-614671.0.html
Considering the elections are so close, it would be worth monitoring the events so we can say that we gave it a chance, see it as Plan A. However, if there is evidence of ‘foul play’ during these events then that would warrant Plan B, massive unrest. A lot of people feel the same way as you do and I believe they are just waiting to see what occurs during the elections.
