burns boy just dey talk anyhow,in terms of global recognition there were artiste before you who set the pace, his fame is largely due to social media influence, there was a time when Nigerians hardly listen to Nigerian music, with 2face and the remedies and edris Nigerians began to listen to Nigerian music.that itself is an example of somebody setting the pace, and BTW he is not the biggest artist in Nigeria Grammy nominated or not.

Sirjamo:
Every region should form their own Amotekun. Please Nigerians, let us stop putting this on Buhari alone; he can only work with what is available to him in terms of security structure and their funding capacity. We need to prevail on our law makers to put security on the concurrent list so that government at all level can share the responsibilities.

Every time a thing like this happens, I always tell people that Nigeria does not have the capacity to secure itself with our current security structure and extremely poor defence budget. Even if Buhari leaves and we have another president, with our 200 million people scattered across 932 000 kmq, and our defence budget remains a patry 2 billion dollars, the security challenge will still persist.
with the paltry 2billion dollars how much of it goes into Nigeria's security when we keep hearing of Dubai properties linked to buratai and the level of corruption in the military

its shameful how buhari's camp is always quick to accredit any report that favour this govt but when its against it,they act as sore losers, if transparency international should retract their earlier report of Nigeria's massive corruption, this govt will be so glad to quote it as though they won the jackpot, you can't achieve anything if you only take positive review but when its negative and does not paint you bright you live in denial

true I listen to a lot of american music its almost the same thing lyrically, money, sex drugs seems to be a popular theme in music, if davido and wizkid were American artist they would have won the Grammy
Celebrities › Re: Grammy Awards: Burna Boy Loses To Angelique Kidjo by Shattuck(m): 6:27am On Jan 27, 2020
the Grammy is majorly an american award a lot of people saying burna can't win a Grammy because of music quality, remember artist like cardi b and other rappers with so much profanity in their music have won in the past, while I admit Nigeria still lacks music depth a lot of popular american artist still do not have much musical depth too

salford1:
Exactly. She has flaws too, but is that now a justification for them to keep bullying her to the extent of involving their innocent child?
They left out Harry out if their bad and gutter reporting. They only started attacking Harry too after he called it quits.
These attacks has been ongoing since 2016 not long after they started dating. The guy has begged several times but the tabloids seems to be on an evil mission cheesy
I get your point too we just hope that things get better from here on
Politics › Re: Sorry To Say, The Nigerian Government Is Better Than The Nigerian People by Shattuck(m): 7:57am On Jan 21, 2020
its wrong to assume that nigerians cannot change their attitude, if the military can condition our minds to be fearful of them or the police to be scared of them, whenever we see them why can't they do it for a good cause.with good and decisive leadership you can change the mindset of an average nigerian, in saner climes you can argue with a military officer but in Nigeria you can't even wear a camouflage, when you see an officer there is an element of fear whether guilty or not,now imagine if that same element of fear we have for those security operative is had for the law,by both the citizens and the politicians,in nigeria we fear the military men or the police officers who abuse power,in China and other developing nations they fear the law.
Foreign Affairs › Re: How The British Press Reported On Meghan And Harry by Shattuck(m): 7:33am On Jan 21, 2020

Foreign Affairs › Re: Harry And Meghan Will No Longer Use Official Titles - Buckingham Palace by Shattuck(m): 7:44am On Jan 19, 2020
giving up the title does not stop the press from getting involved in their lives, they will still be famous people who will continue to live their lives in the spotlight. 2 Meghan is not the first royal to be criticized even William and Kate at some point had endured criticism maybe to varying degree. 3 some of the criticism she got, were justified I remember an incident when it was required that she dress a particular way to an event she refused, even the private jet and climate change incident you can't always blame the media or play the race card, you got married to a prince, they spent so much on you and the wedding,to whom much is given much is expected.
Sports › Re: Lagos Hosts First American Flagship Football Exhibition (photos) by Shattuck(m): 6:38pm On Jan 18, 2020
joshuaakindele7:
American football is a very lucrative sport. Far more lucrative than football. As at today, American Football is the highest grossing sport in the world. The Dallas Cowboys of the USA is the richest sport club in the world with net-worth value of $5billion. Only real Madrid came close with $4billion. I am certain Nigeria will definitely profit from this sport if we look into it.
football/soccer is still the highest grossing sport in the world, the NFL is the highest grossing league in the world, you can't compare football to american football, a game that is barely played outside america
Culture › Re: The Rift Between African-Americans And Recent African Immigrants To The US by Shattuck(m): 3:52pm On Jan 09, 2020
there are a lot of good African Americans as well as bad ones,I think there is a stereotype about being African american, which we are judging them by which I think is wrong, the same way Africans or Nigerians sometimes are being stereotyped, secondly the perception of them being lazy compare to Africans is somehow still not all that true.we share different realities, for an African man going to america he sees so much opportunities compare to where he is coming from, which gives them extra motivation to work extra hard, but for an African american they were born into that system and no matter how hard they may work they may not meet up with their counterpart from other races, same thing in Nigeria we all complain of no jobs but somehow u see that aboki guy doing all this hard labour stuff and making his money but the average southerner who is broke and unemployed wouldn't think of doing same job
Foreign Affairs › Re: The Reason Qassem Soleimani Was In Baghdad Shows How Complex The Iran Crisis Is by Shattuck(m): 11:50am On Jan 08, 2020
the assassination was a wrong one no matter what international laws should be respected,I don't know if he was a terrorist or not,but you can't perform a military strike on a sovereign territory without consent,if every other nation should do it American style the world will be in chaos.no nation should be above international law or bend the law just to suit your perspective.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Russian Military Pays Respects To Soleiman Assassinated By The US by Shattuck(m): 11:36am On Jan 08, 2020
international politics most times is hardly backed by principles its primarily self interest, same reason the us will oppose Iran excesses but accommodate that of Saudi arabia, same goes for Russia but in building allies I think america should be a better ally that Russia.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Will Not Join America In War Against Iran - Benjamin Netanyahu by Shattuck(m): 9:37am On Jan 08, 2020
I don't think Israel is scared, in life you choose you battle wisely, netanyahu knows that america is capable of handling the Iran situation, why get involved,by the way the entire world knows about the bromance between america and Israel.
