The fact that the guy was inconsistent with his own story is suspicious. Maybe he still thinks he is telling the story to children or his cohorts. And to think he is asking for the story to be taken down is even more suspicious; if he feels it is a misrepresentation of the fact, then he should approach the court and sue for libel.
What he is asking was the same thing Konga did when I outed them on their dubious KongaPay stunt, but either because they were NL paying customer or because I did not include any snake pictures, the MODs decided it was not worth sharing to the world.

This not really surprising. When our then president was saying "The Americans will know", we all thought he didn't know what he was talking about. What I didn't like about this story is the fact that Nigeria didn't ask for help and the west taking matters into their hands would have been seen as a breach of our sovereignty.

All holders of tinted vehicle permit and firearms licence in Nigeria have been asked to revalidate their particulars before March 18, 2016.

According to the police, holders of tinted vehicles, who fail to revalidate their licence, would face prosecution.

Also, applications for character certificates must be done through the electronic platform of the Nigeria Police Force from January 1, 2016, the police said.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, made the demand at the commissioning of a Central Information System of the Police in Abuja.

Mr Arase explained that the initiative was targeted at reducing crime in the nation.

You have made your point, they quickly addressed it, this says a lot. Pull down the thread.
You call what they did 'quickly'? Really? I'm stuck with a 20k phone that I have absolutely no need for since December and they are not saying anything about it (not that I want them to anyways, I chose just to ignore them) Later they tried to obtain me, they were bold enough to tell me to my hearing and also wrote me via email that it is their policy to keep shipping fee for an item that I pointed to them was wrong even before the seller dropped it off and decided not to do anything about it till I posted this thread and you say they 'quickly addressed' the issue?
Nne, let's call a spade a spade. What they did is wrong and since they won't tell that to unsuspecting customers, it is only fair for people to know what they are getting into before they do. I am not going to pull the thread.

Maybe you did not read their terms and conditions carefully. I dont find any problem with KongaPay.

Besides, you have been credited with your refund! So why keep the post? @puskin your attention is needed.
My brother, if there is anything I don't do while dealing with any company that offers a contract, it is not reading terms and conditions. More so, I have asked them to confirm where on there terms and conditions where what they told me on the two case were written and all I got as a response was "We are sorry, that's our policy"
By the way, they have been calling and asking me to do exactly what you are also asking me to, pull the thread from NL. If what they did is right, why ask me to pull the thread? Why are they afraid of the truth? And why must it be after I have posted it here that they decided to realize the fact and act on it?

Consumer wetin? Keep dreaming. This kind of case in a country that cares about the service it's citizens get from service providers will see the likes of Konga regretting trying this trash in the first place. Since the business owners are now aware that people have access to social media platform to air their matter, I guess this (and the court for those that can afford it) is the best consumer protection we have for now.

Not even in my wildest dreams will I do that, except if they will pay a MOD to do the work for them.
This is the same Konga that I ordered for a 4k dumbell and they delivered a magnetic bike worth over 30k yet I called them to return the item; now they are putting me through stress over an amount that is less than 1k. Ingrates.
It is this kind of post that exposes the fraudulent nature of business in Nigeria that will never make FP. Even as it did not, I sha still have gotten my money back and my lawyer asked to stay action. I swear Konga wouldn't have known what hit it.
By the way, whoever pointed them to this thread did me a world of good. The person should also go and tell them that I'm waiting for them not to deliver the order I have already paid for that got to PHC since last week which they are yet to even attempt delivery. They should be ready for another set of revelation of how they intend to use this their yeye KongaPay to defraud unsuspecting public with unknown clauses which they never make known to the public till you have given them your money.
Patiently waiting to see if we have any compromised MOD who will ban me or delete this thread.

What pains me most is that, I'll order for 3 items together and they will charge shipping fee for all 3.
Imagine using KongaPay and everything they deliver to you is not what you ordered for and they tell you that you'll forfeit the money you paid for shipping. Is that not what the law tagged OBT? Everybody can as well start an online business. All you have to do is advertise one thing, tell the person you will ship something else, get them say no and keep the shipping fee. Oh, I forgot to add that it will be pay before delivery only.

It can be so annoying the way business are ran in this country. I even buy things from the US, UK and China and when they bring it and I'm not comfortable with the order, I get my full refund and sometimes get to even keep the item. But these thieves here are telling me that their policy is to keep the shipping cost because they shipped what I did not order for. Imagine!
BusinessHear About The New Online Fraud Called Kongapay? by shevon(op): 6:48am On Feb 02, 2016
This is not to bring down any business but to bring to the notice of whoever cares about their money and buy things online, especially from Konga. I will still buy things from them but I will NEVER pay before my order gets to me and I'm sure of what they are delivering (except, of course, if I'm paying for my DSTV subscription)
Anyways, let me proceed to tell you what happened.
The first case, I bought a phone for my brother that was returning to school, paid for it using Konga Pay and it was not recognizing any SIM out of the box, I called and I was asked to take it somewhere on Awolowo Road at Ikeja where they told me it will take up to 2weeks before I can get it back. Since I used Konga Pay, of which they committed to give a refund or replacement if you have any issues with orders paid for through Konga Pay, I was told there was nothing they could do since the item is under manufacturers warranty. Was that stated on your site or did you, at any point mention these to your numerous customers? The only thing I got wad that they are sorry and that the only thing they can do was to take the phone themselves to the manufacturer, meaning I will still have to wait for it to be fixed.
As if that had taught me nothing, I placed another order last 2 weeks for a pouch and when I got notification that the seller had notified Konga of the shipment, I noticed the image of the item in the shipment notification was different from what I placed order for. I immediately sent an email and also called Konga to inform them that I will not accept it (before then, I called the seller severally but the person was not picking calls) and I was promised that the item will be checked and if my claim was found to be true, they will return the item and give me back my money - because I was covered by the Konga Pay protection. I still went ahead to cancel the order because the option was open. Last week I got notification for the refund only to realize that they refunded money for the item and not the money for shipping. I called to lodge a complaint and the person I spoke to told me that is the policy: the question again is, where was this stated?
Come to think of it, so we are buying things without assurance that what is being delivered will be acceptable and if it is not, we will be charged for them bringing rubbish. That is the policy of a reputable company in this country? I asked what if I had opted for pay on delivery, will they still ask me to pay for the shipping if I don't like the item and the response I got is "We are sorry for your experience"
Anyways, I intend to explore my options and I will get back my money. I just want to put people on notice that if you buy and use Konga Pay just bear it in mind that if you don't like what they bring to you, you will not get the cost of shipping the item back.

BusinessCBN Directs Banks To Meet Customers’ Domiciliary Account Needs by shevon(op): 7:59am On Jan 14, 2016
https://10041-presscdn-0-75.pagely.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cbn-gov.jpg

AFTER the takeoff of the new policy on foreign exchange two days ago, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) may have asked deposit money banks that issue internationally enabled cards to ensure that as they accept foreign currency deposits, they should also make adequate provision to honour the resulting demand of their customers.

Besides, the apex bank said policies relating to foreign currency deposits in banks and stoppage of weekly foreign exchange intervention at the Bureaux De Change (BDC) segment are for the good of the economy.

It promised that the latest measures would boost reserves, rub off positively on naira exchange, as well as end the arbitrage on the currency, being perpetrated by BDC operators.

Meanwhile, there are strong indications that unless necessary measures are taken and urgently too to address the scarcity of foreign exchange, indigenous pharmaceutical industries may run out of raw materials for production of essential medicines the end of January 2016.

It was also learnt that over 70 per cent of the country’s drug needs are imported and less than 30 per cent manufactured locally with some raw materials like pharmaceutical starch, still imported.

The Director of Financial Market, CBN, Emmanuel Ukeje, who gave the indications during a television interview said with the new rules, banks are responsible for their customers’ dollar deposits and cannot come to CBN to ask for dollars to settle them when they need them.

“If somebody gives bank dollars and wants you to transfer them, inadvertently, what the person has done is that you are holding that money on the person’s behalf to meet the demand when the person needs it.

‘‘Banks that issue the naira and dollar cards take responsibility now. They must make sure that they have enough of the denomination to backup demand. This is different from before, when they commit and run to CBN because it would immediately become a national issue,” he said.

He maintained that the CBN had supported banks’ decision to stop acceptance of foreign currencies earlier because their vaults were saturated and posed more risks to the industry in the form of cost of keeping idle funds and insurance.

He noted that by the new rule, dollars deposited in cash cannot be used for the settlement of import bill, “but can only be withdrawn in cash as well from the bank. But when you travel with your card, you can now pay with it through wire transfer. Importation is only funded with foreign reserve in the customers’ escrow accounts.”

But Dr. Austin Nweze of the Pan Atlantic University said the new policy would enthrone a regime of competition among the parallel market operators, because the cheap dollars from the CBN would have gone.

Though he acknowledged that the CBN only did an aspect of the policy expectations, he was optimistic that whatever price the naira exchanges at the moment would only be in the short term, because the hidden dollars would come out to reduce supply shortages.

However, he urged the authorities to be serious about leakages that would distort expected results and support local industries to achieve import substitution strategy to reduce import-induced pressure.

An Abuja-based development consultant and civil society activist, Jide Ojo, also commended the CBN’s decision to stop the sale of foreign exchange to BDCs and the lifting of the ban on bank customers who hitherto had been barred from depositing foreign currencies in their domiciliary accounts.

“CBN ought to have stopped the sales of forex to BDC long ago given the fact that it was not an international best practice, as Nigeria remained the only country where such is done worldwide.

“What is needful at this point in time is for the CBN to strengthen its monitoring and evaluation unit and ensure that both the BDCs and bank customers operating domiciliary accounts are not allowed to abuse its policies any longer,” he said.

The Guardian also learnt that the country has only 180 indigenous manufacturers of medicines and over 500 importers.

Also, there is the fear that if the country does not start local production of vaccines before 2022, she may not have enough for the prevention of childhood killer diseases such as tuberculosis, polio, measles and pneumonia.

The Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunisation Initiatives (GAVI), which has over the years been subsidising and giving Nigeria relevant vaccines for free, has formally advised the Federal Government to make arrangements to be self- sufficient in vaccine production before its pullout date of 2022.

Also, with an all-time low, at least in the last 10 years, of 3.65 per cent of the 2016 national budget for health, it is believed that the sector will struggle to meet its basic obligations not to talk of making advances in research and development.

The Guardian analysis indicates that Nigeria has been having an average of five per cent of its national budget for health since 2004 and has not been able to meet the 15 per cent Abuja Declaration set by African leaders in 2001 and endorsed by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

President of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Ahmed I. Yakasai, told The Guardian yesterday: “Many pharmaceutical industries applied for letters of credit but the commercial banks could not process them. Is it lack of dollars? Is it due to restriction by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)? Is it a national policy? We don’t know. But they complain that they couldn’t access dollars to import raw materials and since the raw materials in their warehouses would be exhausted by the end of this January, they won’t be able to produce. The consequence is that Nigeria will not have medicines both for local consumption and possible exports.”

On plans to start local manufacture of vaccine by 2022, Yakasai said: “The country’s health sector is still battling with poor access to public health interventions, while diseases like Human Immuno-deficiency Virus (HIV)/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and tuberculosis are still with us. There is a need to review our dependence on donor agencies, hence the government should create an enabling environment by way of intervention funds to enable our local drug manufacturers to produce antiretroviral drugs and even vaccines.

“As we are all aware, GAVI is gradually withdrawing from Nigeria. I must appreciate the Federal Government through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) for organising a stakeholders forum on vaccines production to stimulate interest and develop a business plan for local vaccines production in Nigeria.

“We can do it if there is the enabling environment and government is really serious as initiated by the NPHCDA that they really want to mobilise pharmacists and other stakeholders to go into production.

If the environment is good and they are able to give intervention fund, they are able to encourage manufacturers. What is a big deal in vaccines production?

“I am calling for the release of the intervention fund.
The last regime promised and nothing came out of it. If the Federal Government gives us intervention fund, it will go a long way in helping the system.”

On the 3.65 per cent of national budget for health, the PSN President said: “3.65 per cent might look small compared with what is recommended and what was obtainable in the last five years but if fully implemented it will suffice.

‘‘Also, the one per cent of Nigeria’s consolidated revenue from the National Health Act, when implemented, and grants by international donor partners through NPHCDA, which will manage 45 per cent of the fund.

“The problem of Nigeria’s budget for health has been that of implementation. Last years’ budget was about five per cent but only about two per cent was implemented. If the government can implement the whole 3.65 per cent of the 2016 budget on health, it would go a long way in making the sector better and Nigerians healthier.”
