I really admire the OP's heart. Great gesture.

Though, endeavour to write in full words ('not' instead of 'nt', 'for' instead of '4', 'you' in place of 'u') especially if you are writing on anything official or professional. It makes employers people take you serious.

Best wishes.

It's majorly 'Agayu' that looks close to an African deity here. Others are just models rocking outfits or lack of them and smoke coming out of wherever.

Nice job but doesn't nail what it was going for. The Obatala looks scary sha.

Hello, Congrats on your TRV. Please did you need a US Visa to transit in the US
I ensured my flight didn't go through the US but you need a US (transit) visa or so if your flight passes through US.

@Team12 will be in a better position to address this issue I think. Her flight passed through Chicago and she obtained her US visa before leaving Nigeria.

@OP, I categorically go against your claim of not being a dullard. If u are not up to the task, why did you go for the MSc program? This is an integrity issue in the academia. I know a banker that ran a full time MSc program, wrote his thesis and graduated with his set with a PhD grade. Truly, plagiarism is no more the prevailing threat to academic integrity, the new and bigger threat is this issue of ghost writer. It is high time we stood against this practice in the academia.
God bless you.

Team12:
Sorry guys for posting this late, being busy trying to settle down and furnish my apartment.

My trip was long (30 hrs plus transit time) but not stressful; Lagos-Dubai-Chicago-Winnipeg.

Transiting thru the USA was very easy, they didn't even check my 32kg Ghana must go of food stuff sef grin They just asked what I had inside and I said food stuff...das all!

Then at the Port of Entry in Canada, I had a trailer load of docs to show them...but the officer was just gisting me how Nigerians in her neighbourhood dress beautifully to church...she nor even ask for POE Intro letter sef, nothing at all. She just dey gist with me as she dey print my Study permit and my daughter's Visitor record (same format as a study permit)

They asked me what type of food stuff I had and I just listed some (I had all sorts of food stuff u can think of ...and yes! I had Zobo leaves and Ofio...lol...my preparation na die!)and one of the officers started telling me how I can get beans and Dry fish in Winnipeg...

It was fun and easy gaining entry and they were very much willing to assist with questions I had.

My Winnipeg goons where una dey? @Supermum, @Sholay2011 et al..we should hook up some time.

To all TRV hopefuls, I declare divine speed and favour on your apps in Jesus name, Amen.

Btw, I applied for a visitor visa for my mum. She has a conference in Halifax and I just got her pp request yesterday..#grateful
Madam VO, welcome ooo!!!! grin I tap into your visa grace.

Yeah, we for Winnipeg suppose jam oh. I'm sure you enjoyed your journey. May you reap the good fruits of maple land.

Also, @IyaEjima is also in Winnipeg. She has really been of great help since I got here.

Hi every one, l arrived in canny sept 7th...but lemme give you guys a break down on my experience so far.

At the airport(9ja), l carried overload(ladies we just love overload) but was lucky it was biz class but l still paid for an extra piece, u need to see begging...lol, paid 29k as opposed to 60k lol(was lucky they accepted payments in N).

Then my experience at the point of entry, it wasn't rily a big deal...they just asked my purpose of visit, if l'v paid my fees and y l was refused b4 and told d officer abt d biometrics thing. Wasn't tough.

Then my experience in canny so far hv been awesome, l got my SIN, a new phone(my oda phn wasn't compartable), Sim card & opened a bank acct all in one day(was a stressful day though) 'cos l had orientation sm day.

Then this is to TRV hopefuls, y'all are next, just keep on b'n optimistic and prayerful after packaging ur app well.

Canny is so worth it, very peaceful, loving and happy peep all around. #whr l am is filled with so many foreigners, so mks things easier.

@success2sure congrats.
Congrats.

I so much agree with the emboldened. Canada is a place that welcomes diversity, especially the academic setting. My landlord na Indian, my apartment mates are Tanzanian and Russian. Classmates na chinko and Ghanaians.

May God help us reap the good fruits of the land and best wishes to TRV hopefuls.

Hi guys, my spouse was sent a medical request firm but a stamped copy if her passport page wasn't included in the mail attachments. Do we call it mail the embassy about this as the hospital wants that a means of ID before she undergoes her medical.
Pls guys, what number or mail do we use to contact the embassy.
If your spouse applied through the online route, then she has no problem. She should just take her original int'l passport along with the medical request form to her chosen clinic. That was what I did.

But if she applied via paper route (which I believe her passport wouldn't be with her), then she can be bothered and will need to mail CIC. I think the Accra mail is accra.immigration@international.gc.ca
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nairaland, A Great Platform For The Youths: Letter To Seun Osewa by sholay2011(m):
@OP...THUMBS UP! Well-written post.

Maybe Seun makes his money majorly from those sections you complained about which keeps the forum running, including the sections that are 'beneficial' to the youth.

It should be noted that apart from the family and job/vacancies section, all other sections you stated are not regularly updated to be the only ones gracing the front page, hence, the chance for cheap celebrity news to be slotted in.

Nonetheless, I get your point and more emphasis should be placed on what will benefit the society in the long run.

Human beings want to enjoy, but they don't want to think; they forget enjoyment is subjective and insatiable, and in the end, the nearest thing to its peak is thinking.

This movie has been getting raves at festivals. Most Oscar pundits have it penned down for Oscar nominations in many categories, including Elba and the young boy (Attah).

My expectations are high already. Bring it!
