I've seen so many posts here of people asking questions that can easily be found using Google search, especially for people who are new to the EE process. Your first port of call should be the CIC (Canadian immigration) website. Make sure you cover the entire page because for each step, they tell you about the documents you need and the bodies you must use to obtain these documents. When you've totally perused the website and you need answers on questions that can't easily be found, you should then proceed to this site to ask questions or search for them here because most of the questions asked have been adequately responded to over the years. |

ultrazone: @all, can anyone help with this question? Thanks. An MBA is a Masters degree and will be assessed as such. It is not a professional degree. Master's degrees and professional degrees receive the same number of points according to CIC |

Icecreamy: Thanks for the response but I don't really understand. My question is if the person giving the gift needs to send his bank statement. Sorry to bother you. The person does not. You're the one applying and only your financial documents are required |

Dare002: If you have a reference letter, and the only issue is that it doesn't state your salary, pls why do you need all these? Payslips and bank statement highlighting your salaries will suffice. Nigerians like to overdo. I'm sure this is why the process is on for a longer period. Applicants sending too many unnecessary documents |

ladymarshall: Oh I get you now, that's sad to hear.
There's a moniker here some pages back that claimed he tweeted CIC and they told him to claim professional degree for law when WES evaluated it as BSc. I hope he reads this. It was me and I contacted them via Facebook. It depends on the VO. I've read stories online about people who scaled through this route and I've read a story about this man's friends situation. It is unfair from CICs part as what they state on their website should hold throughout the process |

And please do you know how Lawyers qualifications are evaluated. That's is can they claim 2 or more certificate?
Since they have NBA and the one issued them from school? ...my younger sister is a lawyer, ..im asking for her.
Law degrees are recognised as professional/masters degrees by CIC and you get the maximum points for this credential. It's best to use IQAS to assess her degree as they will state this on the report but CIC confirmed to me that even if you use WES which states a Law degree is a 4 years BA, they will still take it as a professional degree |

I thank God your daughter is well now. I've read of cases about people who's POF was fully funded via gift. So long as the money is not borrowed you are okay. The thing is that don't over give them information. If they ask you about the money, that's when you should tell them it's a gift
quote author=NubianQueen87 post=80631651]Good evening, good people. I hope everyone is well. I need some advice, please.
I received ITA last night, CRS 469.
My challenge is with the POF. My husband and I were hit with some awful challenges concerning our baby's health. We sold all our good properties to raise funds for the treatment. She's very well now, but from all I've read here, I have serious concerns about POF being 100% gift deed. My uncle has offered to help but I don't know how to go about this without raising the VO's eyebrow.
Please help. Thank you.[/quote] |

Hobyno: Not for me am already Post AOR but for us not to mislead others. Same CIC states Engineering as a professional degree but WES still evaluate it as 4 yrs Bachelor and CIC sees it as what WES states on the Evaluation it's best we advice what makes applicant sleep well at night that hanging on VO's discretion
My 1kobo advice Can you show proof of this? CIC has not designated engineering degrees as professional degrees. |

hayoakins: Option 1. Use the number of years that would be on the transcript. For example 2016 - 2019 = 3years
Option 2. Use the number of semesters that would on your transcript and divide it by two that is if it is two semesters per year. For example, if a transcript shows six semesters, the number of years shall be 6/2 = 3 years.
When you get an ITA, you have to provide a transcript along with your ECA?
Option 3: Use the number captured in ECA report.
PS: Option 1 and 2 are for pre ECA while option 3 is for post ECA.
All the best. |

Bazbaby: No. You also need letter from your bank. Please ensure u double check the requirements...
For proof, you must get official letters from any banks or financial institutions where you’re keeping money.
Letter(s) must
be printed on the financial institution’s letterhead include their contact information (address, telephone number and email address) include your name list outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans include, for each current bank and investment account, the account numbers date each account was opened current balance of each account average balance for the past 6 months
Thanks It's not an actual letter. It's a statement of account. You don't need a letter from your bank. What is the letter going to state? That it's your money? |

Dare002: So, if a processing officer recognises it as normal degree, then it is. Guys, better to have it stated on your ECA as professional qualification ooo... I would only advise that you attach an LOE, if your degree was assessed by WES, in order to draw the VO's attention to it. It's better if you assessed your degree with IQAS where it's stated on the report that it's a professional degree, but for those who didn't know and assessed with WES, the post was intended for them. Why blow another N70k plus when a Law degree is already seen as a professional degree by their government? |

Kosi167962: Really? That's great. Kindly share the screenshot of CIC's message to you.
What then is the use of the evaluation in this case if it won't really matter at the end? The evaluations are only advisory. It's up to the VO to make the final decision. I guess that's how WES view law degrees

For the Lawyers in the house who've assessed their degrees with WES, CIC confirmed to me via Facebook that they will take your degree as a professional degree even if WES has assessed it as a 4 year Bachelor's degree. So claim the Professional degree points without fear. |

bankyh1905: If that's the employment you're claiming points for, as long as it was in the last 10 years, you have to do the needful by obtaining a reference letter. All other activities in the last 10 years, including that period of employment goes into your "Personal History". I hope this helps. Thanks. The entire process is the same, the only difference is your degree needs to be assessed by a medical board or association in Canada. You can't use WES or the other bodies. Each country has its own process for obtaining the PC. You have to check. Some do it online, some in person. Read the CIC website. It has a list of nations and their respective police websites. You can get it before you receive your ITA but again, you can read the CIC website |

Muyiwa951: Hello house, i have a very few questions... i have been a silent follower of this thread. I am currently on F1 visa in the US for my Masters Degree. My questions is
1. Is it possible for me to apply for EE from US on F1 visa?
2. I have all the requirements, such as work experience, POF etc except IELTS... now my question is: a must to have the 8777 score? If you have anything less than the score, does that mean you don't qualify for EE?
3. Reference Letter from my previous work: I have been working in my dad's coy for more than 5years before i travelled. Can that count as work experience for me... Just curious as i have made research that one can't use a self employed as work experience.... pls i need someone to clarify this to me.
Thanks you all as i await your input. Cheers!!! 1. You can apply from anywhere. In your case, you will need a Police certificate from America and Nigeria 2. You need a high score in IELTS to gain the maximum points in order to receive an ITA, so ideally you should aim for that score. Depending on when you finish your Masters, you can evaluate it and if you get 8,7,7,7 in your IELTS, you will get an ITA 3. Work experience is work experience, so long as you have been paid and have worked continuously for one year. You can check page 1 to understand it better. Working for your Dad won't count against you. The CIC website states self-employment is acceptable. Not everyone can work for others |

Tina26: majority of canadians cannot score 7 in writing. Even in the uk where i once worked many of them cant get a 7. The ielts guys are not being truthful with the marking. We have seen remark change from 6.5 to 7.5 and 8. If not for our desperation to travel due to our failed country we should not be writing this exam Is this thing really true? A guy told me they can't give you more than one point if your script is remarked. So if it's 6.5 it cannot go over 7 and if this happens, they can sack the person who initially marked your script. |
