ttmacoy:
If there was mutual trust and respect between husband and wife then she asking for a will should not result in negative reaction.

in a sane country even if there is no will there is no chance of the rubbish that happens in Nigeria where families will kick out wives and kids after their brother or son dies.
oh I see cool
Education › Re: Kenyan Student Had Sex With Her Lecturer & He Gave Her 'E', Then She Did This by SmellingAnus(m): 10:25pm On Sep 08, 2016
These things are common... Infact lecturers are more sexually harrased these days through provocative dressing and direct approach by some female students that will say "i am ready to do anything , just pass me...

3 conditions re necessitate a will

If you re above 60years old you should consider writing ur will

If you re having a terminal illness that tb joshua cannot heal

If you u ve be slapped by the ghost pls write ur will before it gets to insanity state

MaeBlocks:
The writing of a Will is not a hard thing but shey na who don chop belleful dey write Will?
Please remember that times are hard and majority of Nigerians are struggling to feed themselves, pays rents, pay school fee, etc.
My papa never write will and neither we his children or our mother care.
A colleague of mine's brother inlaw willed his property to his wife (my colleague's sister) and his two children before he died. His family started fighting over the properties with my colleague's sister as she kept insisting they are for her children. But you know what....she has died too.
My advice - insisting on having a will couldn't be the ultimate priority of anyone cos no one will be buried with the properties.
interesting view

When a wife suddenly wakes up and ask the husband if he wrote a will then he should be suspicious of her cos she will stop at nothing till she knows the will favours her and after that she might feel the husband has outlive his existence...
haha haha very funny but there is truth in this

Plan on creating a 'special will' for my woman(whether we have kid or not), but everything will change if she ask me question on anything 'will.'

It always comes with a sinister motive

hahahahha I kind of agree with you bro...

Will to an Nigerian is like planning on dying soon. cheesy grin grin

It has not been a norm in Nigeria. Only Few educated elites and those that had stayed abroad awhile really write a procedure of how their estate should be shared.
I like your sincerity on this issue grin

babyfaceafrica:
Am sure Nigeria men arenot scared of writing a will, what they won't do mostly is to share the contents of their will with their wife for obvious reasons?.....a woman should only ask for the contents of a husband will when she also shows the husband about her will also?..or don't women have wills to?....if you want openness, you do so by being open!!..that said all sane main should from when they start owning possessions draft a will which will include all member of their family. They are not under any obligation to share details of it.For me the best will I will give my family is what I can give them when am alive...education,shares and the likes, when am gone ...anything can happen...May God spare our lifes more on earth
Amin.. well said bro...

Very true in this part of the world.
But don't forget a man has to a his lawyer for the services...Nigerian men are just too careful.
yea but people have lawyers for different reasons, I heard of a billionaire that has an only son and daughters from a different woman, the dad was gravely ill and all the son could do was to go and secure his dad's properties because he thought the dad will not make it alive, the day finally recovered and heard of what happened and decided to write his will... (this happened in Rivers State)...

IhateYorubafool:
Just put it like this
"Your village uneducated men are scared of having a will"
Even in the 60's you will hear stories like "His dead father didn't will any of his properties to his son because the son is hotheaded and useless

I grew up in the 90's and all the Nigerian men i know do have wills, even those in the remote part of Nigeria (except the Hausa men)

I haven't seen or heard of any Nigerian man that died without willing his properties to his relations, wife and sons

This is not 1856, it's 2016

I have an advice for you
Stop doing drugs, it's affecting your mentality
I will reply you politely because I don't know your struggles... When you look at the topic again you will understand that it's a question and not a conclusion.... Thanks bro...

The odd thing is...it's only a man with millions or billions in his bank account reasons to put down a will...and we have few of them...but, those who do actually have.

Na who get money dey write will na. grin
hahaha if you a plot of land, death entitlements, shares or other properties too, you could write will don't be surprised people may even fight for that property that may not worth millions like kekenapep etc

bros this ya moniker sef ...are you in any way related to Denrele?...BTW Nollywood has effectively made Will writing an ominous routine and any requests for same will be treated worse than asking for Babas WAEC kpali...All the same, every right thinking individual should have a last will and testament...my grandmother was illiterate (book reading wise) but she had one.

SMELLYANUS LMSAO!!!
hahahah I agree with you bro... As for my moniker, it's partly for comic relief grin
