PoliticsRe: Reps Kill Motion To Immortalise M. K. O. Abiola by smooooooth: 10:18am On Jul 24, 2009
the abiola issue shld be laid to rest, there is no need immortalising him. besides he only won the election cos nigerians needed change, and freedom. and it was better to vote an intelligent theif than a dumb saint from the north, who wld have continued the trend of marginalising and oppressing other nigerians. which have been a common trait of the north.

imagine abiola contested the elections with pipu like pat utomi, wole soyinka, even obasanjo. no one wld have voted for him. even i wld have won the election against tofa at the time. if we want to be frank, he wasnt really a saint b4 he took the fall.

BusinessWin $1 Million. by smooooooth(op): 2:12pm On Jul 20, 2009
I don’t know if anyone has noticed the new method most coys employ to generate capital for their business. They come in form of promo’s/bonanzas and it goes all year round.
Especially most of the telecom coys, it’s like a competition among them, 525milion, $1miilion. Good as it may seem, this are just avenues to exploit the masses, I mean non of this promo is free, you are either required to call or send SMS to a number, where u are charged 50-100 naira, this little amounts can get up to millions of naira for the coy who only give out a few million to winners.

Instead of truly rewarding their customers for their patronage by making this promo’s free, they still collect money from them. In my opinion, this coys are just raising money for biz, it’s like an open capital market, only this time, investors don’t get any benefits, just a lucky few who emerge as winners, are given a paltry sum from the millions they make from this promos.

This is not good, as this coys are supposed to go to the ‘’real’’ capital market if they need to raise funds, and to think that after all the money they collect from the unsuspecting public, they still have the guts to post losses in their financial statements, thereby evading tax. This coys, (mostly foreign) are taking us for a fool, and no one is saying anything about them, I think its high time there’s a kind of legislation to stop their activities,
Especially with the promo’s, if they really wanna give something out, then it shld be free, not give with one hand and take with the other.
BusinessRe: Please Where Can I Invest 200k Till January? by smooooooth: 4:12pm On Jul 17, 2009

CareerRe: B.a(religions), Where Can One Work With It? by smooooooth: 12:59pm On Jul 17, 2009
you can get a job in the mosque cheesy. god see replies, u guys wont kill pipu.anyway dnt mind them, its not about what u read i nigeria, its about what u can do, like your abilities, qualities. a university education is just to open u up & help u discover potentials in your self, thats why companies employ pipu from diff disciplines, likein the bank u will find english grads, french, science, even religion. just make sure u get a good grade. then
when u get employed, you get trained, as all u leant in school cant tell u what to do immediately.thats when the real career starts, and u can know which line u want to go. though some professional courses point the way from the onset, i have seen accoutants become IT consultants, and lawyers, become portfolio managers, depending wht u find outside the walls of the university. so keep faith.

takia, & by the way u are in a good school, blive me,i am a uniben grad myself.
PoliticsRe: Fashola Warns Mend by smooooooth: 12:45pm On Jul 17, 2009
CGKing:
I'm sure if one of ur family members died in the atlas Cove bombing (God forbid), you'd be singing a different song. You should know that this problem has transcended so many governments, and the silencing of proponents of the Niger Delta long ago was carried out by a government we all condemed. So y is MEND frustrating everyone? Y didnt they show up when we have a military govt? Stupid cowards.

What they should be doing now is a renewed attempt at getting this new government's attention through a lawful and peaceful movement. If the government were was it ought to be, MEND wont even survive 1 week. If the govt launched a serious military campaign, think MEND will survive a night? Stop taking lenience for weakness.

People who said they've been deprived, just deprived 7 families of their loved ones, who never knew jack about jill, no hope of ever seeing them again. Doing the same things they condemn the govt for.
if a member of my family was sacrified for justice, peace and equity to reign, thats will be okay. & let me remind you that some of us, lost brothers and uncles in the biafra war, & even now, i, unlike ''u'' nigerians, is ready to lay down my life and that of 100's just to give the future generations a sense of belonging, to free them from this bondage called nigeria.

and lets not blame the actions or inaction of past presidents based on the military rule. its a fact that the niger delta problem have been with us, and they have not kept quiet all the while, therefor any sensible and reasonable govt shld have been aware of their plight, and shld have made plans for a lasting solution even b4 assumption of office. but no way. because its clear that this is a northern conspiracy against the south. they have no solution, cos they are blinded by their greed. they will only continue in their deceit, by creating agencies like the ministry of niger delta, NDDC, Ompadec, etc, which are just arms of the govt to continue to impoverishig of the niger delta. or are u insinuating that this govt does not know there has been no light in nigeria for decades. obviously, like his predecessor, he came in with no solution for that.  the only agenda they ever have is a  25bil road to link abuja/kaduna, or
70bill constrution for the FCT, my broda wake uo, abeg!!!

if we are to be frank, it is the north that needs a ministry, they are the ones that are plaugue with all manner of stuffs, what we are saying is let states control their resources, then whatever royalty is paid to govt, a portion shld be channeled thru the ''ministry of the northern states'' to help them with their poverty, backwardness in education, hiv, filthiness, flies, and empower them, instead of continuing in their parasitic nature.

obiuchesil:
Guys, its quite unfortunate that people now use this forum to attack each others' ethnic groups. Nairaland as I understand is a socio-networking site which is meant to unite people from all tribe and race not to attack each other online. I believe every user of this site should be matured and rational. Now I want everyone in this forum to picture himself as a member of House of Rep representing his/her people up there. With this kind of contributions you guys are making you will end up bringing suffering and death (war) to your people. Mind you that most of the things that was destroyed in the last civil war that lasted 30months has never been replaced uptill date. As matured and rational minds, Let us propound a lasting solution to this problem, A WAY FORWARD, atleast that is what this site is meant for not attacking and abusing each other.
THANKS sad
my broda, we want to interact and make friends, but sometimes the memories that some pipu's fathers, stole our land, stole our treasure, and money, raped and killed family members, and their children are still supporting their actions, makes it difficult to interact freely. see why nigeria wil never work, nothing can make it work, the NYSC and other national integration programme will never work. the only solution, is to call a round table meeting, apologise, and draw a new agreement or we all go our separate ways, then, and only then can we interact peacefully on a forum like this. sorry.

i am really disappointed at how this thread has degenerated to an exchange of ethnic jingoism.
it is a shame that people are letting ethnic afilitions allow them condone criminality.
i am not a fan of letting out private info online, but if anyone should be a fan of the militants, i should be one.
like i stated in page 1 of this thread, this is plain CRIMINALITY.
there is no struggle or movement in this so called militancy.
this is a money making venture with no ideology involved.
until the govt has the balls to deal with this, the country is screwed.
the problem is that most of the people in govt are benefiting from this scenario.
this amnesty crap is just another propaganda for the those in govt to make money.
have you heard the billions voted for the amnesty and rehabilitation program?
please tell us a strategy that will work with a govt that's deaf, insensitive, wicked, and stupid.

HajiaTanko:
Imagine a thief claimin rights in Nigeria?

Thief with a whole squad bombin places and leaving bold threats.
if you call mend criminals, then what will you call the federal's govt & oil coys action in the niger delta for decades.

if they are theifs, then what will u call the senator, ministers, presidents, and all political office holders tha have looted

the wealth of this nation for over 40years. please & please go and see down, we know u belong to the northern sect, who

are the real, criminals, thiefs, and parasite. we can see that in your names.

and i want to beg every1 to stop talking about a 1nigeria. there has never been and will never be a nigeria. ethnicity will continue

to thrive as long as this present arrangement continues.

Theblessed:
Hey Negro man, God bless you for saying the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MEND should use their political common sense and rethink their strategies by developing effective Network and dialogue with the powers that be.  This tack of distrupting the country and economy by way of violence e.g. blowing things up can only present them as a terrorist group instead of peaceful people who only want better life for all Nigerians.  No, violence would not get anything done/achieved.  Destructions can only lead to Nigerians spending the little resource we have to foot the bills from all these damages when such resources can be invested in developing other areas needing serious attention in our country. Thus, it doesn't worth it!  Please, MEND, rethink your strategies.
you pipu talk as if u have not been following events. aint u aware that the niger delta pipu have tried severally without success to talk/dialogue/ with govt. some of them were even killed to shut them up. now they carry arms, and everyone is suddenlly conscious of whats happening there.
Look like i have always told pipu who are quick to condemn their actions. first, visit the niger delta and see where 80% of the nations wealth is coming from, and ask your self if they have been treated fairly. i never speak on a matter that i dont have good information about. and i think thats 1 problem in nija, pipu just talk without proper knowledge about whats going on.

from displaying those kinda of actions, as they may have cause to from their partners, who may be cheating. either way, once this starts, its good

to end the r/ship, as it cant produce any thing good at the end.

You are kidding right?
Nothing justifies it, in a country with a rule of law. No matter how bad things are you don't resort to killing others to get your message accross. It is only a matter of time before other tribes get sponsors and if you think they cant afford sophisticated weapons, think again. Weapons manufacturer will look for a way to get it to them.
You think the international community are on their side, you think they will even give them asylum when they start to run? Some of you can sit there and talk or justify the bombing of lagos but if you dont have the support of the yorubas, you will not succeed. book it.
imho, amnesty or not, i dont think this will go away. This thieves will not surrender after this easy money making schemes, which is nothing but armed robbery in disguise.
i like the angle u are coming from with your arguement, but we shld all understand that there is no country like ''nigeria'' in the first place, it was only a colonial arrangement. now one wld have expected that after the exit of the white man, the pipu of the supposed ''nigeria'' shld have been called 2geder to discuss the terms of managing the marriage they have unfortunately found themselves, but that didnt and have not happened, cos the hausa'a wont allo with and thereby holding every othyer ethnic group to ransom, if u take a look at all the strustures and institutions in nigeria, who will understand how they are able to do that. we are still under seige.

and u spoke a bit of my mind, i have wondered why other gropus have not taken advantage of the situation to join forces with mend and free themselves from this slavery. u will agree with me that pipu who share the same challenges/interest shld come 2geder to fight for their common good, forgetting whatever grudge they may feel for each other {biafar & Mend) as standing and fighting alone can go very far, as we witnessed with the biafra war.

speaking about the international community, they kknow the truth & they know that the niger deltans, and other minor groups have been marginalised and cheated for long, they have only kept queit cos of the gains they get from us, u shld understand the politics in the international sphere toknow what i am talking about, they will support the authourity in power just to get on their gains, that includes mend, if 2moro, they seem to have a upper hand. as we experienced during the civil war, britains support come late, when biafra were on the verge of surrendering anyway. they have started their politics again, waiting to see the side that leads b4 they support, we have seen it in britains keeping mute on the NG issue, and obama visint ghana, instead of nigeria.

from all these, u will see that the only language this govt will understand is war.
PoliticsRe: Fashola Warns Mend by smooooooth: 12:17pm On Jul 16, 2009
i support the cause that mend is fighting for, and i dont blame them for carrying guns to communicate. many pipu have argued against their carrying

arms, and suggested that they dialogue with govt, but they seem to forget that this pipu have been pleading with govt for years, some who

tried to speak louder than others, were even silenced by govt. the only thing this insensitive govt hears is force, either in the way of protest, strike, or war

but then i must be quick to condemn their recent attack on lagos. and like fashola said, i hope it was a mistake and shld not repeat itself, they shld turn

their anger to the right quarters, boom abuja, kaduna, kano, or minna, and they will definately get the attention they seek.
