orion7: Tinubu men fighting because of reduction in cash to bribe and stock bullion vans
It will actually be sheer ignorance that would make someone think this withdrawal policy can affect someone like Otedola not to talk of someone of Tinubu's caliber that will now warrant him running after the CBN governor.
As it stands today, each of those bank MDs will "use their heads carry all the cash Tinubu needs for election buying" whenever and wherever he needs it.
drlateef: If Obi can lose pole as third place in NE, NW and second in SW, yet declared winner of the pole, this pole must be nothing but abracadabra. The only state outside this three major voting blocks where they have large votes is Rivers State and some areas of middle belt where APC is leading. How could he win an election with this loss? Definitely, Atedo Peterside and his voodoo polling agency is wrong. They are using fake poll results to deceive Nigerians into voting Peter Obi. You only need to be statistically trained to see the deception. Peter Obi is obviously losing this election if we search deep into the interpretation of his pole. The pole favours Tinubu more than anyone else.
SojWORLDWIDE: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has admitted that there was over-voting in the July 16 governorship election that brought in Ademola Adeleke as Governor of Osun State.
A Deputy Director in the ICT department of the INEC, Mrs Abimbola Oladunjoye disclosed this while giving evidence before the Election Petition Tribunal hearing the petition filed by Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the declaration of Adeleke as the winner of the election.
Being cross-examined by the Petitioners' counsel, Chief Akin Olujinmi SAN, Oladunjoye who was referred to as a star witness of INEC admitted that in Ward 4 unit 7, Ede South Local Government, there is an over-voting of 75, as the figure of accreditation on the BVAS report presented by INEC is 313, while the result on form EC8A is 383.
Oladunjoye's attention was also drawn to paragraph 21.36 of his witness statement where she stated that the accreditation figure was 830, but in the BVAS report presented by INEC, the figure of accreditation is 793, admitting that there was an over voting of 37.
The witness also admitted that in paragraph 26.7 of his witness statement, there is an accreditation figure of 402, while the accreditation figure on the INEC BVAS report was 263, admitting that there is an over voting of 139.
Also in paragraph 23.24 of his witness statement, Oladunjoye agreed that the accreditation figure she mentioned was 448, while the accreditation figure on BVAS was 224, admitting that there is an over voting of 224.
The witness who said under cross examination that she was not a Presiding Officer on the election day said, it is only the Presiding Officers that have explanation on what transpired at the polling units on the election day.
The INEC representative who admitted that she signed and certified a BVAS report for the Petitioners, further said that the copy of the report was different from the one issued to the respondents, adding that she never indicated that the report issued to the Petitioners was an interim document which would be subjected to synchronisation.
She testified that the synchronisation was done after election result had been declared on July 17, 2022 and BVAS report had been issued to the Petitioners on July 27, 2022.
Done with the cross examination of the witness, Chief Olujinmi hinted that the irregularities identified in the BVAS report presented by INEC was just a tip of an iceberg, saying, there are loads of over-voting during the election.
Earlier, the tribunal had admitted as exhibits the load of BVAS machines and CTC of Form EC8 series brought to the tribunal by the INEC counsel.
After the Cross examination of the witness, the INEC counsel, Professor Ananaba informed the court that he would no longer be calling any other witness, as he applied to close his case.
Counsel for Adeleke, Onyeachi Ikpeazu subsequently opened his defence by tendering form EC8 series used for the election.
However, the tribunal raised issue as to the safe custody of the BVAS machine tendered and admitted in evidence, as the panel ordered that the machines should be kept in the Central Bank Vault in Osogbo. The tribunal then adjourned till tomorrow, Thursday.

Same BVAS some people are saying is foolproof? I laugh when some people seriously believe that the BVAS will eradicate rigging. The rigging this time will just be on another dimension different from the traditional one we are used to. But that this election will be devoid of rigging? capital NO. It might however not be as brazen as before.
I still maintain though that "You cannot rig where you are not popular"
Irrespective of wether he understands governance or not, the funds he claims is loan is way too much to overlook.
You wey understand governance kindly give us a breakdown.
When was the loan taken is the simple question the immediate past governor is asking.
According to Oyetola, not a single loan was taken during his tenure, rather he even paid back part of the loan borrowed by Aregbesola. If Adeleke wants to dispute that then he should publish the commencement of the loans he is talking about. We all agree that Aregbesola messed that state up in terms of borrowing that does not commensurate with infrastructures on ground. Oyetola on the other hand as been relatively prudent in terms of borrowing.
Creamypie: Na so these idiots KANU, okocha, Ikpeba, amokachi, okocha, supported and campaigned for abacha in 1998 to be resident through fraudulent means as the sole candidate of all 5 political parties.idiots
Make you lie small small.
It was the likes of Segun Odegbami doing that then not this set you listed here. Our only grudge against them then was because Abacha told them he could not guarantee their safety if they go to South Africa 96 and they agreed not to go to defend their 94 Nations cup.
If na you your chief security officer says he can't guarantee your safety somewhere you go go there?
TonyRazor: Purchased PVCs will be useless , INEC warns politicians
Tony Okafor, Awka
Amidst rumours that polititcians are buying up Permanent Voters Cards( PVCs) against the 2023 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC), has warned that such PVCs will be useless during the polls.
The Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner( REC), Dr Queen-Elizabeth Agwu said this on Wednesday during a stakeholders' meeting at the state headquarters of the commission, in Awka , the Anambra State capital.
The REC said, "Such actions will not be useful during elections ", adding that the commission had developed a standard operating procedure for seamless PVCs collection in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
She explained that because of insecurity, the commission had relocated PVC collation centres in six LGAs of the state.
The affected LGAs, according to the REC, are: Ihiala, Nnewi South, Onitsha North, Orumba North, Awka North and Awka South.
Expressing concern over uncollected PVCs in the state, Agwu gave details of the uncollected PVCs in the 21 local government areas thus: Ayamelum -1,960, Dunukofia -6,222, Idemili South -4'589, Anaocha -885, Orumba South -6,656, Onitsha South -12,274, Idemili North -16,256, Aguata -12675, Njikoka -7,009, Ogbaru -10,755 and Anambra East -7,717.
Others are Nnewi South -1,841, Awka North -1,153, Anambra West -1,387, Orumba North -2,393, Oyi -7,982, Onitsha North -9,990, Ihiala -4,058, Nnewi North -8,700, Ekwusigo -3,350 and Awka South -4,971.
The REC said, " INEC appreciates the patience and understanding of Ndi Anambra, especially those who registered as voters or applied for transfer/replacement of their cards from January to July, 2022.
"In making the cards available for collection, the Commission has fixed Monday 12th of December, 2022 to Sunday, 22nd January, 2023 as dates for the collection of PVCs.
"Let me state that INEC has deliberated on the prosecution of persons arrested for illegal possession of PVCs and it is the wish of the commission to continue to pursue all violators of the electoral act to ensure prosecution."
Our correspondent gathered that in some local governments in Anambra, the communities provided logistics for INEC officials to make it easy, yet many people could still not find theirs.
According to the REC, INEC had asked the communities to apply to the commission through their traditional rulers so that INEC could distribute the cards in their palaces.
She, however, said the traditional rulers must guarantee the security of the INEC officials in writing before such a request would be granted.
Exactly why they are buying the PVCs. They want to make it useless for their opponents while their own supporters will vote. Disenfranchising is part of rigging.
seunmsg: The much awaited Bola Tinubu’s BBC interview was aired today and Nigerians all over the world have been reacting to the interview. Below are some of the reactions from BBC’s Twitter handle.
Mynd44 and nlfpmod, over to you.
This is most likely a 'cloned' Tinubu from Burkina Faso. The Tinubu we know can't understand anything you tell him not to talk of answering questions coherently.
By the way, Tinubu is arrogant sha. might be a good or bad trait in a President.
Tinubu might have some health challenges from the look of things, but I honestly don't believe mental or cognitive impairment is definitely NOT one of them.
I've taken my time to listen to all his publicized stuttering and realized that the guy generally has issues in stringing words together, eg.
1. He likes translating his thought in his mother tongue (Yoruba) into English which brings about issues like the "El Rufai, the Poisoned holy communion etc.
2. He has some vocabulary in mind which he wishes to use but many times either he doesn't know how to pronounce it very well or he doesn't know how to use it appropriately which brings about issues like "Blu ba bloo, blu blu ," I believe what he meant to say there is hullabaloo, and also technological up instead of hub, etc. Mr. Obi found himself in that kind of situation too during his interview with CNN, he had so much data in memory he wanted to throw out but at a point he struggled to look for the kind of word to use in trying to be candid at the same time not want to be offensive which ended up in him muttering the word "Naanu"
3. He is used to the old school way of campaigning to the crowd by whipping up their sentiment or being abusive to the opponent etc.
The opponents are just amplifying all these just for normal political jab. Whichever way it is; ALL IS FAIR IN WAR, We the neutrals are the ones enjoying the show, let the 'gbas gbos continue as Tinubu continues to drop more lyrics for skit makers before February.
A blurry certificate shouldn't be what court should be debating about in this 21st century...
Even a tertiary university won't let you know they are going to verify all your document for authenticity sake after they have given student admission, so as to shame you and withdraw your admission after finding guilty..
All what I'm expecting the court to do is to either buy a waec scratch card or write to waec to comfirm the genuity.....
Shame on our judicial system..
Follow the basis of the argument before condemning the judiciary. It's not everything about Nigeria we should be condemning without knowing 'what up'.
Of course, the lawyers know how to get (and they actually have) his real certificate, what they are trying to prove to the court is that Adeleke submitted a wrong/forged/inconsistent certificate. That is why they compelled INEC to produce what he submitted to them so they can compare with the real/original one they already have at hand.
wwwihy: Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Gangadharan Balasubramanian, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
Is it this guy's name Jagaban was trying to pronounce in the videos making rounds?
chase4: Watch the entry of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in company of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other APC chieftains into Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere for the official commencement of the Lagos Rally.
dawnomike: 1) BVAS enable voters to get accredited and vote immediately compared to what we have in time past. Where you will all get accredited before voting hours later. This will make the election process faster and also reduce canvassing that happens btw accreditation and voting time.
2) With BVAs, election results are transmitted live thereby reducing external influence of inflated vote counts by corrupt inec officials
3) With BVAS, any polling unit where any form of violence is detected, results from such polling units is automatically nullified and voided. This will discourage ballot box snatching that thugs engange in. Where they snatch ballot boxes, go to one corner and start to thumbprint in bulk!!! The downside to this is tht, opponents can go to polling units where their opposition is having strong leads, create chaos to make elections nullified there.
There are many advantages to the use of BVAs in reducing election irregularities... that is why so many politicians kicked against it initially
Number 3 is where the real rigging will take place. Watch out for cancellation in many opposition units by the ruling party. Even if there was no violence there it can still be done, who has video evidence that there was no violence there before the cancellation of the results from that booth?
Carmal90: Like how you threw the president and some governors name in North, but you forget to mentioned Makinde and Adeleke in South. This election is now an ethnic election, and the North will have her way
Junior66: Quit smoking shit, BAT cannot win any state in this our north central. He is a hated figure here. To make it worse for him, northern Muslims only vote northern muslims. He will struggle to get good votes in the entire north
BaddestQueen: Dear mr fayose if you are truly advocate of southern presidency then urge tinubu to step down for Obi because Obi has better chance than tinubu.
2023 election Will be One of a kind where traditional Old ways of politicians influencing votes Will be reduced to lowest. Right now Obi controls both SE and SS with pdp sharing parts of south South too. While tinubu only has SW which Will be except Lagos that will be a close contest. Not forgetting pdp controls osun and Adeleke will definitely repay atiku back. So in essence tinubu will win his stronghold but not with very wide margin.
Come to North Central the most affected areas of apc bad governance. They won't even touch apc with long Pole. It's pdp vs LP over there.
Coming to the core North. With the Way southerners are queing behind Obi I won't be surprised if the North picks atiku as a consensus candidate because they knew the implications of splitting their votes between atiku kwankwaso and tinubu. Atiku being their brother and More acceptable in the South than tinubu and also In a major party. The choice won't be hard for them like they're already doing.
So it's for the best interest of the South if tinubu steps down for Obi.
God bless the incoming president Peter Obi CGFR
Hahahaha
Do you even know the states that make up the NC? Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau and FCT
Benue is the only state APC will struggle, they will win Kwara and Kogi with at least 60%, Niger and Nasarawa with at least 45%. They wont win Plateau and FCT but they will get significant votes there not less than 30%
I don't know what you mean by core North, is it Bornu that has Shettima on the ballot or Katsina of Buhari, or Kaduna of El-Rufai or even Kano (where the votes will be shared in good measure between Kwankwaso and Ganduje and Atiku)
I agree that South need to be united to be able to call the bluff of the North but we all know that's not going to happen. So it all boils down to who can strike the best deal with the political gladiators especially from the North.
OKOATA: Stop talking crap, Its obvious you aren't from SW and if you are maybe from Kwara dominated by you muslims. Religion will play a huge role in this election and saying CAN and christians in SW will vote for Tinubu cos he's a Yoruba is nothing but a joke. Let's see how Tinubu wins SW with his M/M dead on arrival ticket. All these muslims underestimating christians go hear am for Feb.
I was having an intelligent discussion with someone before you came into the picture. I mean you can make your points without insult or calling names. intelligent argument is not about shouting but about making your points in a civilized manner.
Also, try to study the manner a discussion is going and the caliber of people talking before barging into the conversation.
Firstson33: massive lies obi would generate more than 30% votes in these state rivers, delta, benue, anambra.ebonyi,IMO,plateau,Lagos, in fact all the southern states including the east is a lockdown for obi and a little percent from the core north.
You didn't read my write up through. This is what you responded to "The only SW state LP can get above 30% is Lagos and maybe Ogun, other states is 20% or less"
Foolishbuhari: I actually think it's the opposite. Tinubu's chances are very slim plus he dealt himself the Muslim Muslim ticket blow in a country where buhari hasn't done much to uphold national cohesion.
Many southwesterners needed a better option, far from Tinubu and they see that in Obi. His sentimental value dropped simply as a result of Obi's candidature.
Secondly, the SW has recorded only about 4 million total voters in the last 2 elections. Buhari won by 15 million votes, 12 million plus of those votes were from the north. Tinubu currently stands no chance in the SE and SS. In the north he has Atiku and Kwankwaso and Obi mainly in the NC areas to contend with. The MU MU ticket isn't exactly selling as he envisaged.
For Tinubu to win, he needs to get at least 60% of Northern votes, 80% of SW votes, At least 30% of SS and SE votes. Those won't happen.
Tinubu focusing all his energy in the north actually favours Obi's candidature more because currently Obi has the SE and SS on lock down at least by 70%. He has At least 40% of SW votes too and he will make some scrap pickings in the NW, NW and consolidate with NC (mostly middle belt) votes.
But I agree with you on the run off. We may have that. This election is uncallable as things stand.
You are right. But as I said, I'm not saying Tinubu will win, I said the emergence of Obi is what is giving him a fighting chance.
Imagine a scenario with Atiku in PDP and maybe Obi as VP or Obi did not move to labour and got voted out in the PDP primaries which will make it a straight fight between Tinubu and Atiku.
If Tinubu makes the Pope his VP he can NEVER win SE- cleared for PDP If he makes Wike his VP he can only drag SS with PDP (he would still get his 25% in some of the states there though)
Which still brings the battle ground back to the North. With that, the defeat for him would have been landslide.
What is giving him a fighting chance now is because he's sure that Atiku's usual block vote from the SE and SS is no more there. The only SW state LP can get above 30% is Lagos and maybe Ogun, other states is 20% or less.
Which brings me to the conclusion that we are not likely to see anyone getting 25% in 24 states as stipulated.
When it now comes to run off (depending on which 2 among the 3 leading contestants will qualify for that) its a different ball game entirely, the narrative will change totally. We saw something similar to a run off in Osun State the last time, which resulted in the deal that brought Omisore back to APC. Many underhand dealings would have to be made. That's when it becomes the survival of the most crooked.
onatisi: It is very very funny that someone we all thought and teased for not having any political structure just like 2 months back has suddenly become a major contender . Thank God he didn't give up when every one was mocking him for joining labor party. That man really tried. He is not under any pressure at all, the pressure is on atiku and tinubu now to defeat him
The plain truth is that Obi's emergence is the only chance Tinubu has of becoming president. If Obi had remained in PDP and the party is intact, Tinubu's defeat would have been massive. That is the reason why you see Tinubu not paying so much attention to SE because he knows Obi has done the job there for him, all he's concentrating on is how to maximize SW and NC at the same time drag NE and NW with Atiku.
So, don't be deceived, the script is actually playing out as APC wants it, all they are doing now is to make sure Obi doesn't get bigger than they anticipated (make the movement nor get out of hand).
With that said, we may be looking at a run off election for the first time in Nigeria history.
ZeroAccess: We dare Tinubu to visit the US. Naija is such a useless country. How can someone with tinubu character be contesting for the highest sit in the country.
Black race have a very long way to go.
This is Tinubu invited by the Democrats in America to attend their convention in 2012.
He is an ally of the Democratic party, and guess which party is in power in the same America now?
