Christianity EtcRe: Satan Is More Powerful Than God! Frosbel Said It!!! by spicyv1(f): 1:39am On Jul 13, 2012
MacDaddy01: I Peter 5:8 “8BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT; BECAUSE YOUR ADVERSARY THE DEVIL, AS A ROARING LION, WALKETH ABOUT, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR:”

You better forget God, Satan is epic according to the bible. Roaring lion....boss
See, the challenge you have is that you do not understand the bible!or should I say use θf english! Let me help you. Now the scripture above says he roams about AS A LION. Meaning he is not a lion, but just goes about acting like a lion. Hahaha counterfeit not the real deal. Christ in whom all believers are joint heirs with is the true lion θf the tribe θf judah! So please do not get confused!

chucky101: The poster is developing a theory thats still in its infancy, he needs to think it through. I know lust of the flesh is a clear & present danger on a mans path towards achieving victory. But the onus is on him to exercise discipline. Dont blame the honeyz.
On point!!!

@ op: pay attention to this scripture, tho paraphrased. " Let no man claim that he is being tempted θf God, every man is tempted by the sinful desires θf his heart".

Truth is what you see externally cannot cause you to sin, you will only sin when that external factor resonates with a familiar internal factor! So don't blame the women, blame your untamed lustfull desires.
Christianity EtcRe: Can We Truly And Wholly Be Free From Sin? by spicyv1(f): 12:44am On Jul 13, 2012
platos: can human, mere mortal flesh be truly be free from sin? is it possible to totally do without sin (100% sinless) all the time as christians?
It is not possible for mere mortal flesh to live a sin free life. But it is very possible for the man with the regenerated mind to live without sin by consistently renewing his mind with the word θf God and doing the word. Personally, certain things that I used to deal with have lost their appeal to me because I make a conscious effort to find out what God's word says about it and put it to practice.

The key generally is living without been overly conscious θf sin. Just walk in the free gift θf His righteousness that has been bestowed upon you.
Christianity EtcRe: Satan Is More Powerful Than God! Frosbel Said It!!! by spicyv1(f): 12:24am On Jul 13, 2012
@ OP: I am wondering how your subject correlates with the message. How can satan be compared to the Almighty. In any way how much more in power? That book θf job you quoted clearly shows his inferiority to God because he couldn't do beyond what God instructed him to do to job. Please read the scriptures!

Also God is omnipresent. Meaning He is everywhere at all times, satan is not, he only goes to and fro or up and down. Meaning when he is at to, he is not at fro and when he is up, he is absent from down.

Its really funny to me that there could ever be any form θf comparison θf might between God and His creation!

CareerRe: How To Avoid Corruption At Work Place... by spicyv1(f): 8:50pm On Jul 12, 2012
Saifullah01: Well this just crossed my mind and I decided to share....
Normally at work numerous temptation arises to be unethical... A deal that was forgotten and u conner it urself, u inflate procurement prices so u benefit, u extort money from clients for doing the job u are paid to do etc.

Well it's simple, here is how I avoid falling into such corrupt practice....

1. Always have a plan for the day, week and month, e.g I need X naira to service my car, so I will wait till my salary comes next week and take X for the car

2. Most claim necessity make them compromise their integrity. E.g before the month ran out Mr. Z offers me X naira to expedite his application, and mehn do I need X for my car.

3. Here is where the plan helps. I simply tell Mr Z to wait for his turn, reject the X naira bribe, and wait for the month end to service my car. QED. Coz think of it if I never met Mr Z then I will have to wait till the end of the month to service my car, so I might as well just wait and keep my integrity intact.
Great points. But the solution is not having a well thought out step by step to dos. The main solution is dealing with the problem from the root! I mean I have often heard people say, "na where man d̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ work na Im d̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ chop"! How can you give someone a step by step action plan on overcoming unethical behaviour when he does not recognise such behaviour as that in the first place? There is need to understand WHAT IS RIGHT choose to STAND FOR WHAT IS RIGHT! Only after then can we proceed to the step by step plan.

Ps: if the foundation be faulty what can the righteous do?
Cheers.
CareerRe: Career In Hr by spicyv1(f): 7:10pm On Jul 12, 2012
teenuharde: Good day everyone ,
I'm need your advice pls, I'm a graduate of communication and language arts from UI and I would love to pursue my career in the human resources field .I finished youth service Feb 2012 n I've not been able to get a job cos I'm not sound when it comes to calculations. I've written several aptitude tests but I end up not making the required score . I've checked Cipm website for their calendar but I'll have to wait till next Feb to register for the class. In order not to be idle I'm considering registering for a diploma in customer relations course with careerforte cos I also love customer relations , I don't want to make a mistake career wise.also do I have to be a member of cipm in order to work in the hr field cos I heard I'll have to deal with calculations in the exams too . Kindly advise me on steps to take . Thank you all
You have cleared outlined what you want, a career in HR. You have also taken out time to discover the relevant certification required and when to enroll for it. Now all you need is FOCUS and DETERMINATION! With focus, you shouldn't be thinking θf another course in Customer relations, instead, go online and search for top HR firms and approach them for the purpose θf volunteering so you can learn the ropes and gather experience whilst you wait for the enrollment next year.

With determination, you will scale through any hurdle (the calculations) that comes with becoming a certifiedHR practitioner.
Cheers dear.

Ps: the sky is not your limit, your thoughts are!

emi ni: @Zi, i apprct ur point of view but i dont think reviewing my appointment as a regular teacher in same sch can solve anything. If i shld do dat, it wud hv a severe effect on my resumé, my salary wil be reduced & i wil stil end up doing same job when d need arise.
@spicy v, ur post shows u've had same experience.
Febuary last year i had one on one talk with the sch proprietress like mother & son on this same issue when i was stil the headteacher for pry section, the reply was she wil think about it. 2months later, my appointment was reviewed as the sch VP with no monetry motivation attached to it. Now d workload is somuch dat i can't bear it any longer than to resign.
I hv not tendered my resignatn letter though.
My dear, you are clearly being used! I am excited though that your field is one in which so many opportunities abound. You need to be on the look out, I have no regard for employers who undervalue their staff and staff who act like their employers are doing them a favor by offering them a job! Your services are relevant and until you have that mentality you will keep settling for less.

Yes some might say there are many applicants waiting to take your job but I dare say there are only but a few skilled, experienced, efficient and deligent workers out there whom employers are longing to pay! So darlyn brave it up! Be on the look out as opportunities abound!
CareerRe: ?interview Question: "Why Should We Employ You?" by spicyv1(f): 6:42pm On Jul 12, 2012
Docjay487: I've been wondering what the best answer to this question is; An answer that will shut up the interviewer AND get you job?
Here's a more detailed explanation.

Several years ago, at an interview with one θf the telecoms company, I was asked that question and I said, " I am aware that your corporate vision within the next 5yrs is to( I quoted the vision) and to accomplish this you need individuals whose core values and career vision clearly alligns with your corporate vision.

For me its all about being intoxicated with passion about that job and communicating that passion to your prospective employer. Passion is contagious and employers can hardly ever resist any applicant who expresses intense passion for their goals.
Cheers.

Too much yarns! Sounds like a well rehearsed line from those online cover letters.

Before you go for the interview, you should have conducted a thorough research on the company, looked for loopholes and show up with the solutions to those loopholes,

@ Violent: you are violently humorous! Hahaha.
CareerRe: Please I Need Experienced Career Advice by spicyv1(f): 5:56pm On Jul 12, 2012
violent: Sorry to say this, but it does appear from your post that you are a little confused.

I have often stressed to people that taking courses and certifications will never beat the cruel scars good ol' experience brings.

1) Your BSc in Microbiology

Forget about the Microbiology bit, I'm more concerned that graduating with a 2:2 will send signals that you can't stay focused on your objectives and work hard enough for them.

Don't try to be too defensive when explaining this to someone or a future employer ---"I only knew what the heck i was doing after 3 years at uni" ---...not a good story, not for someone who hopes to be in Management!

Accept responsibility!..I'd rather say i had too many things to manage including family businesses and as such my commitment to my course suffered. But in the meanwhile, i have since learnt about my passion for management and I intend to stick to it till the sea runs dry!

2) NIM

Please just hide this piece of trash!..don't ever include it in your resume as it adds no value whatsoever!...Everyone and their mums and their cats probably have the NIM certificate. It's just a scheme to milk corpers out of their registration fees and all that ish. If someone comes to my office with the NIM on his Resume, my immediate thoughts would be that maybe the individual is not capable of tougher ambitions or able to challenge his limits.

3) Masters in Project Management:

Sounds good to me and it shows you are more focused and heading in the right direction.

MBA is a tested and proven route for anyone aspiring to be in management. I'd stick to it!

More qualifications eh? How does this improve what you already have? It is my opinion that this wouldn't necessarily add any more value to what you can do which in my opinion should be the focus. I'm more likely to listen to someone who says "I managed 10 interns and two young analyst and channeled their resources to achieving the company's goals in the last two years"....the dude with the certification, to me, has only been able to spend many hours studying what other people have experienced.

Okay, here's a recap: You are a Microbiologist who wants to learn personnel management, have an MBA, study for the PMP and also be an IT guru at the same time....here's my suggestion: why not add: a degree in law, the NCSP designation and a little touch of Medicine and pharmacy?

You can't be everything dude!...you want to be in management, then focus on management!!!

You may not know it, but i believe this is a good opportunity to build your management skills. Step outside of your marketing limits and initiate a project at your place of work. Manage the project from start to finish leveraging your degree and gazillions of certificates. This project could be anything from cost reduction to maximizing profits or opportunities for growth. Make sure your Boss's boss understand what you are up to so you can take all the credit when it's time for it.

Once the project is done, look for another project. You will begin to realize that all the things you look for in books and what not are actually available to you hands on, this will also give you better stories to tell at interviews on your managerial skills. Just imagine telling them how you helped your company reduce 20% of their operating cost!!

goodluck!
I would love to meet you! Its all I can say.

@ op: this is all you need, some violent steps!!!
Cheers.

wolebs0007: I'm an aspiring batch C corps member(2012) but right now I'm tired of sitting at home.I need sincere advice of what to do to occupy myself before serving.
There are a number θf valuable stuff you could do. Now is the time to further develop yourself and strategically map out what you want to achieve in the future. Start now to acquire skills.

Take short courses that will boost your CV or go and volunteer with an organisation for the sake θf work experience. I know a young lady who was without a job for almost a year after NYSC inspite θf having a first degree from the U.S.A and a masters degree from the U.K! However, the job she eventually landed, she got because she had been there to volunteer and that gave her an edge when there was eventually an opening with the organisation.

Most θf the solutions I proffer now in exchange for money are skills I gathered doing stuff for free when I graduated from school in 2005 and awaiting NYSC.

Lol on point.
@ op: you are the best in your career when you have consistently applied excellence in preferring solutions that are recognised, accepted and appreciated in your field. You are the best when you are sought after and have become an authority in your field so much so that what you say even by mistake is accepted as the newest invention in your field!
CareerRe: Emotionally Abusive Bosses!!! by spicyv1(op): 4:51pm On Jul 12, 2012
Pacify: I've got this horrible boss that matches all the descriptions you put up. It's really that bad and I'm tryin to make a way out of this horrendous situation. I'm only taking his over-bearing insults cos there are very few jobs out there but once I get myself something else, I will be out for good. I'm really tired and it's something he does on almost a daily basis. he can sometimes be generous but his generosity cannot be compared to the badges of insults we get on daily basis.
I totally understand your plight! Please be very careful not to be like the sponge, soaking in every vile word hurled at you. While you are still there, always be on the look out for other opportunities and do not hesitate to take off once you get the chance! Even the bible warns us about been closely associated with ill tempered people lest we become like them! People like that will rip off your esteem and turn you into a pitiful being with no sense θf worth without your knowing. So please guard your heart.
Cheers.
CareerRe: After 1st Degree What Next, Please Advice by spicyv1(f):
royal lord: Hi, my brother is finishing his degree program by d end of this year, in computer science. He realy doesnt want to go to the nysc but he doesnt know how to forward his education although he says something concerning some system administration. Kindly advice what to do, what is the best certification one needs to get to be relevant in d job world today and d best place to get the certification in nigeria or neighbouring country. Thanks for ur assistance
Your brother needs to settle down and think θf what he wants to really do. He needs to answer the following questions:

What am I really good at: what natural talents does he have that can proffer relevant solutions?

What level is my talent at: are those talents developed to the point that people will be willing to pay money in exchange for his services or he needs to further develop them?

What am I passionate about: he has to determine what career he is really passionate about because while money is a good motivating factor for deciding what career to pursue, passion is the one thing that keeps you going when all else fails, passion is what puts you at the top and keeps you there.

After your brother has succeeded in answering these questions, we can then move on to the next level.

I must say this is a very smart move. Whilst most graduates just sit on their lazy butts idling away valuable time, you are actually thinking θf ways to make yourself more marketable to prospective employers.

Well, I have got good news for you, I work with an organisation that specializes in Peachtree training. I am sure you know the significance θf this knowledge to your qualification as an accountant and the edge you will have over other job applicants as most top organisations need accountants who are familiar with this software.

I have your details and will forward more info to you.

CareerRe: Why Discouraging Imitation? by spicyv1(f): 3:40pm On Jul 12, 2012
ayox2003: Imitation is not bad. Having said that, imitation without jara is bad. Lets assume Nokia imitated Samsung without adding features to entice people, and Chinese phones also imitated Nokia without adding the "TV" to it. Then the imitation is futile. Infact nobody would buy both products (Nokia and Chinko). But imitation in a bid to improve on whats already done is always a welcome development.
Humanbeings particularly tend to imitate another person who is in tune with their likes, dreams and goals. Or people who have already "arrived". One key thing is to know thyself before you imitate somebody else because we are all unique. This is where mentorship comes in.
Anyways, imitation is very good if its bottomline is to achieve our goals without forgetting "our own make-up".
Frawzey.

Zi: 1st, I don't think you should resign from your present job. The reason is that you need that basic salary to grow more capital for your fish farm. Yeah, we always need more!
I suggest that u apply to be a regular teacher, so that you will have more time for your farm. Except the fish farm is already too large that you cannot effectively combine the two.
I beg to disagree. Firstly, if you apply to be a regular teacher, I bet your application will be denied on the grounds that you are already an efficient staff and any sensible employer wouldn't want less from you in terms θf what you are putting in. At best, they may want to reduce your salary.

I think you should ask for a salary review and if not granted go ahead and quit your job! I am speaking from experience, it took my leaving a job for my boss to realise my worth and I was called back and offered the same salary that she complained was too much! At times, especially in situations like this, a courageous step is all you need to rock the boat.

Cheers.
CareerEmotionally Abusive Bosses!!! by spicyv1(op): 3:03pm On Jul 12, 2012
I have met a number θf emotionally abusive people especially in the work place. These people are highly insecure people who derive pleasure in putting others down, criticizing at every minimal opportunity and are generally known as control freaks.

It is indeed a terrible situation if you work for someone with all θf these character defects because your efforts will never be good enough! I once did and had to flee even when I was offered my job back after a month, I fled farther! Reason? Such people are highly contagious and you wouldn't know how much damage they have done to your self esteem until they are done with you and you have become just like them!

Have you had similar experiences? Maybe not just bosses but colleagues, please share.

I am a male though but it makes no difference, married or single, He might have his reasons for wanting to have an external affair, not every married man has got the right woman as a wife and most doesn't know until they get into it, as for the g/f play d game and let d ball roll, single guys also come and go.

Don't mean to be rude, but I consider this the lamest excuse there is! If you're married to the wrong woman, work it out! Everyday women get into marriage with the wrongest of men and they don't cover the silly and unpardonable act of infidelity with the excuse of 'being married to the wrong man' rather they make the necessary adjustments and encourage their partner to be the person they desire to be with.

I think you have been watching too many Disney programmes,
