nikkyshyne: This is a better picture.
They certainly look alike hence the false assumption! I recall reading about this some months ago and the gossip site that shared that false info later apologized and revealed the identity θf the pretty Gene look alike. Can't remember her name though.

Olodostein: You never engage in any reputable topic; you are simply an ambulance chaser and a sycophamt brainwashed pri.ck who derives his sense of worth from the internet. A man who thinks, behave, react and writes like a woman. Take a look at your syntax, so bloody dull with no substance.

Open a thread on any subject including the one you studied and lets us check out IQ's.

Dokita !!
Not attempting to partake in your debates but I couldn't help but ask, how does a woman think, act, react and write?

Thank you for replying with civility.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why People Dont Get Jobs by spicyv1(f): 9:00pm On Aug 13, 2012
Insanity: @OP
What of this;
'To obtain a position in an organization with construction knowledge, high mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety, where i make effective contributions individually or within a team.'
Note- applying to a construction firm.
What position actually? Cleaner? Accountant? Business Manager? Your objective should portray how your career goals aligns with the organizations goals.

I would say, " I seek to build a fulfilling career in Administration, by contributing my quota θf innovative professionalism as a team player within a structured organization, focused on proffering specialized construction and safety needs".

Now I am wondering if this post θf yours should be in the career section or religion. Also, have you taken time to verify your story or are you just drawing conclusions based on hearsay? Finally, what do you hope to achieve with this post? Expose the "phony" pastors, reveal the "brain washed and hood winked" state θf the staff or to confirm if such situation really does exist and also seek a solution to the situation if it actually exists?

Just wondering...
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why People Dont Get Jobs by spicyv1(f): 7:08pm On Aug 13, 2012
Really insightful. As regards the objective section in CVs most people actually just copy what they think looks impressive without actually checking to see if it suits the job! I mean, if you were an employer, would you invite someone with your CV for an interview? The key is to THINK like the employer, envisage his needs through the job specifications/requirements then create a CV that matches those needs.
EducationRe: How Do You Politely Answer Someone When They Ask You Where You Go To School? by spicyv1(f): 1:29pm On Aug 03, 2012
Why not just give them the answer as it is? I mean, why bother if your honest answer generates a different (positive I assume) treatment?
CareerRe: How to Become Self-confident In 3 "Easy" Steps by spicyv1(f): 9:03am On Aug 03, 2012
Ufeolorun: The job you were offered would have had skills requirement and ordinarily the source of your self confidence would have been that strong belief that you fit into their requirement and can fill the skill gap.
Self confidence has it sources hence it can't be viewed in isolation

Self confidence has it sources hence it can't be viewed in isolation
True! That is a strong point. But, my confidence in applying for a job has never been based on acquired skills, I have taken on jobs without having the actual skill(s) required but the confidence that I can do that job effectively! It is that confidence that spurs me to aqcuire the relevant skill quickly and unnoticed on the job!

I mean, haven't you heard θf people who got jobs or were given responsibilities not on the basis θf their skills but on perceived potentials and the can do ability they portrayed?

Also note the basis θf this debate as already pointed out by Violent.
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 12:44pm On Aug 02, 2012
AjanleKoko: It's okay to be amazed. Abi.
But I am sure you will fire almost everybody you work with, if you have that attitude.
Not sure where you work but . . . most companies don't want mavericks working for them. Certainly not security guards, especially in this age of terrorism and high-impact crime.
Funny! Funnier is your maverick reference and funniest your assumption! Anyways, its your assumption which you are entitled to have! So carrygo Sir!!!
CareerRe: Do Organizations Believe In Their Core Values by spicyv1(f): 11:44am On Aug 02, 2012
dadde: thanks a lot. i quite understand your angle. i just posted that to put ajanlekoko off my back. my "epistle" are just a tiny example.
i was actually referring to some other creeds like, integrity, innovative , customer service and employee development as well.
Lol. Okay.
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 11:30am On Aug 02, 2012
AjanleKoko: That is bad HR.
The employee in question is a security guard, and is not employed to use his discretion. In fact, the gateman should sue them for unlawful termination, and he would get a good payday.
What if Mr Lagbaja was an armed robber, or an assassin who planned to off the Manager? His orders were simple; don't open the gate. And he obeyed to the letter.

That car dealership will likely get robbed someday, or will still sack many gatemen.
I am amazed that you say the employee is not employed to use his discretion! Very amazed! Now, he was given an instruction, was he employed to make decisions regarding who should see the manager or not? It was sloppy and gross misconduct for him to have refused the visitor the right to see the manager! Infact he should not only have been fired, his salary should also have been deducted so he learns that being a security guard does not exempt you from contributing to the growth θf your organization and it is also not a license to be stupid!!!
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 9:58pm On Aug 01, 2012
Oh sure they were!!! An employee is employed to not only do his job but to do it effectively and that requires the use θf initiative/discretion! Lack θf these do not only lead to unproductivity, it results in silly and unpardonable losses as was the case with the GM θf company A.
CareerRe: Do Organizations Believe In Their Core Values by spicyv1(f): 3:56pm On Aug 01, 2012
@ Dadde: Are you serious? Is this really the point you had in mind to drive across when you created your topic? If it was then I retract my concurrence with your ideology. I mean this long epistle you posted as an example does not even correlate with your topic much less justify your points! Please present specific facts that substantiates your argument.

However, I still maintain that I have actually encountered businesses with pursuits that takes them further from their vision and mission statement. Its just an imaginary theory to them.
CareerRe: How to Become Self-confident In 3 "Easy" Steps by spicyv1(f): 1:57pm On Aug 01, 2012
@ Maclatunji: I have read through your post and the responding posts, I think you are actually missing the point that Violent has clearly communicated in diverse ways. Violent's last post did not portray that confidence stems from a specific skill (the case θf knowing how to ride a bike) it was merely an instance.

Self confidence has absolutely nothing to do with how much skills you possess! I have met so many people who are so good at what they do, it is obvious to everyone but themselves! Now, that is a classic case θf having knowledge and expertise but lacking confidence!

Self confidence is being comfortable with your personality, accepting the entirety θf your person, irrespective θf contradictory popular opinions.

Instance: I have been offered job opportunities, not on the basis θf how well experienced I am but how much confidence I exuded in assuring the client that I am best fit for the job! My confidence in this scenerio was not dependent on any skill but on the assurance that somehow and however I can and will deliver beyond the expectation θf my client! So also have skilled people lost viable opportunities because they lacked the confidence to convince their publics to trust their abilities.
CareerRe: Tips For Choice Of Career. by spicyv1(f): 11:05pm On Jul 27, 2012
Hahahaha oh my! But your topic is wrong, doesn't portray the message, it should have been, " Alert! Alert! Amazing career options"!!!
CareerRe: Is There Any Career/job That Is Not Monotonous??????? by spicyv1(f): 10:48pm On Jul 27, 2012
Kamardiran: would you please expatiate?
Please let me do that. I manage projects and my major areas θf focus are procurement mgt, trainings and events (awards).

Monotony is non existent in my job! Even if I were to have several projects within the same industry to manage, it would never be monotonous because while its basically the same skill that is required to get the job done, there's always loads θf new challenges that surfaces and a requirement θf fresh creativity to get an excellent job done.
CareerRe: Do Organizations Believe In Their Core Values by spicyv1(f): 9:22pm On Jul 27, 2012
AjanleKoko: I believe they do, at least the founders would.
What's the reason for the post exactly?
If they do, it would be very evident in their business conduct and pursuits rather than stir up doubts.

I see the relevance θf this post as it encourages serious minded business owners to not only focus on the essence θf the existence θf their businesses but to also groom their staff to understand the business manual (core values, vision and mission statement)and to effectively interprete its language to themselves and then to clients.
CareerRe: Handling false accusations in an Official environment by spicyv1(f): 9:05pm On Jul 27, 2012
Don't! Believe me, I know exactly how you feel as I have been in a situation were I was falsely accused and worse still, there were evidences stacked up against me that I would have pronounced myself guilty! But I was so sure that I don't and have never suffered from amnesia so there was no way that I committed the act that I was being accused θf so, I just kept mute about the incident and didn't try to defend myself but trusted God to vindicate me. He sure did, not at the time I wanted it, but at a time that I eventually realized was just the perfect time!

The accuser was so ashamed and even attempted to keep silent about her silly mistake but I made sure to announce my victory!

So dear, please just develop a blind eye, deaf ear and dumb mouth to the situation and if you are truly innocent, its only a matter θf time. I know its embarrassing, I know it hurts and I know its a hard thing to do.

CareerRe: Are White Collar Employees More WASTEFUL Than Their Entrepreneur Counterparts? by spicyv1(f): 8:46pm On Jul 26, 2012
No doubt, you are right about that. Classic example is the number θf creditors who eagerly await the end θf the month because to visit their debtors in their offices. Lol.
CareerRe: Do Organizations Believe In Their Core Values by spicyv1(f): 4:48pm On Jul 26, 2012
I totally agree with you poster. I have observed the same thing myself. I think they just lose sight θf why they actually started the business and created room for distractions. It really requires a lot θf focus and sacrifices to stick to the original plan. Specialization has given way to generalization in businesses.
CareerRe: Are White Collar Employees More WASTEFUL Than Their Entrepreneur Counterparts? by spicyv1(f): 1:58pm On Jul 26, 2012
Oh but your post didn't suggest your awareness θf wastefulness being an individual thing, it actually suggests salary earners as wasteful people and Entrepreneurs as frugal because θf what they do! Hence my post. Good thing you clarified.
CareerRe: Are White Collar Employees More WASTEFUL Than Their Entrepreneur Counterparts? by spicyv1(f): 2:52pm On Jul 25, 2012
@ OP: You made some striking points. However, frugality or carefully planning to live within your means is not a function θf being an Entrepreneur, its a personal choice. A wasteful person will always be wasteful, whether he is an entrepreneur or earns a salary. So, wastefulness or frugality is not determined by your occupation but by your values and principles as an individual.

No amount θf Gold is worth trading my values for! I would never compromise on my standards nor sacrifice my integrity on the altar θf materialism! I wouldn't even think about it, its not worth negotiating because the more time spent on thinking about it, the more reasons you begin to have to discard your values! The immediate consequence θf defending your integrity maybe harsh but in the end it always pays off! Many may argue otherwise because we live in a highly immoral world where true values have become extinct!

My take? What does your friend stand for? Now is the time to defend what he stands for!!!

But is this for real? Not in a company managed by Nigerians, the candidate will be bundled out θf the interview by security!!!
