More than 22 million Nigerians are wishing they have a job they can go to when they wake up every morning, but alas: they have none. Many people despise what they have until they lose it. Then they know the worth of what they have. You are in a country where Donald Trump has driven down unemployment to the lowest levels in decades. We are stuck with a president who is out of touch with any reality in Nigeria. |

otipoju: Nigeria is something else entirely. Its as if everyone has sold their heart to tbe devil and cant feel a thing anymore.
Last time i was in Lagos. My younger brother was driving and there was heavy traffic with everyone trying to get ahead of everyone.
In tbeir hurry, a keke Marwa who was also in needless hurry hit an SUV and speed of. I told my younger brother and others in the car that you guys were the one that harassed this guy until he hit the suv.that they could have just let him go on his way and ride aftet him and everyone will get home eventually.
The all laughed at me and said what is wrong with me? Why i am i talking as if i did not grow up in lagos. The total lack of concern for the damages that the marwa rider will pay to the suv owner bothered me. All through my holiday, all i saw was people being mean to people and taking advantage of them if they could.
There and there i knew that tbe next time i visit, ill prepare myself psychologically to stay in lagos and brace myself for the culture shock. When Nnamdi Kanu called Nigeria a zoo, he was being diplomatic. Zoos have organized structures and semblance of order. Naija is a jungle, and only those who turn into the fittest and opportunistic predators end up surviving. To make it, you have to either be at the top of the food chain (politicians, government officials and their families), or you are directly under them as a 2nd-tier earner, picking up the juicy scraps that fall from their tables. Everyone else is at the mercy of the elements. |

Kelvin30286063: Watching Atiku talk about his passion for free education is disgusting. Dude your university has a tuition fee of 1.5M per semester! The American University operates a franchise. They are in Romania, Lebanon and several other countries. Atiku brought them to Nigeria as their local partner. If you understand a franchise system, you will not be posting what you just posted because it shows complete ignorance. Education is not cheap. If it is offered free, it is either sponsors are paying or it is paid for by the government (like the UPN government of 1979 to 1983). Expecting a world class university to be free is wishful thinking, and if you think the paltry sums being committed by government to publc universities is enough to turn them around, why has the govt not been able to implement the 2009 agreement it entered into with ASUU, prompting the 3rd strike in a row over the same funding issues? |

ksbusari: I have an opportunity to travel to Cyprus but my problem is I know nothing about Cyprus. I'm a father of one, a lecturer in one private college of Education in Osun State. I just want to seek a greener pastures but would Cyprus be a great place to go? is going to Cyprus worth quiting my job for? Thinking of Furthering my education by opting for my PhD (well as a consolation) before I come back. my intention really is wanting to live a better life. Anyway, now that I have let the ignorant people have their say, I can now advise you. Cyprus is divided into two. The South is the internationally recognized state. North Cyprus was annexed by a 1974 Turkish invasion and has no international recognition. Many Nigerians are being fooled to head to North Cyprus, which is a dead zone. South Cyprus has three booming industries: financial services, shipping/logistics and hospitality (seasonal). If you want to succeed in Cyprus, pick up skills you can use in these sectors. I have a professional qualification which enables me consult for companies in their financial services industry so I should know better. Forget the "there are no jobs" bullshit. There will never be jobs for the unskilled, be it in US, UK, Europe is even in Naija. If you have the requisite skills, you will make it. We even have many Nigerian footballers plying their league. |

The agreements to renovate the airports were signed under GEJ's regime and financed with loans taken from China. The Chinese govt does not deal with individuals: nto GEJ, not PMB. They deal with the Nigerian government. So whether it is me, you or whoever is in power, those airports would have been delivered and the loans will be paid by Nigeria and Nigerians. But as a true herd follower, I do not expect you to understand what I have just written. |
