Christianity Etc › Re: Why Christians Need Not Fret About Victory Of APC's Muslim-Muslim Ticket by Steep(m):
jesusjnr2020:
Why Christians Need Not Fret About Electoral Victory Of APC's Muslim-Muslim Ticket

The freest and fairest presidential election to be held in the history of this nation was won by the party that fielded a muslim-muslim ticket.

It was a muslim-muslim ticket of MKO Abiola and Babagana Kingibe, yet no one, not even one Christian or church leader in this nation, seemed to care or have any issues with it. I can't remember anyone as such speaking against it.

Even the only rival party at the time fielded a muslim-christian ticket, yet it was the muslim-muslim ticket that Christians in this nation voted overwhelmingly for.

Nigerian Christians and the church contributed significantly to the victory of the party that fielded the muslim-muslim ticket over that which fielded the muslim-christian ticket, because they believed the presidential candidate of the party with the muslim-muslim ticket would provide the best leadership of the nation.

So it's not really about a muslim-muslim ticket as many Christians and church leaders were making it to be, but which of the presidential candidates would provide the best leadership for the nation, and based on antecedence, the presidential candidate of party with the muslim-muslim ticket is one that has proven himself to be most competent at the leadership level of all the leading candidates of the election.

This doesn't mean that he wasn't a former drug lord in the past or wasn't corrupt, but the fact that regardless, his track record in the area of leadership clearly trumps those of his closest rivals.

It's that glaring, even a spokesman of arguably his major rival in the race, couldn't help but admit that he was the best state Governor Nigeria has ever produced.

So except we want to be sentimental about it, this is not far from the truth.

When it comes to the area of religious sentiments, the presidential candidate of the muslim-muslim ticket is the one who chose a RCCG pastor as running mate for the president despite being Muslim. Moreover the immediate past and present Christian governors of Lagos state were both his choices.

In addition to that, the closest person to him, his wife, who he's been married to for close to forty years is also Christian and also said to be an RCCG pastor. That should illustrate his religious orientation.

On rigging of elections, that's sadly a systemic issue in this nation as we speak, because none of the leading candidates of the presidential election, could boldly claim they didn't benefit from rigging in the elections to any degree.

The only reason his rivals were crying foul is because they lost the election regardless. I'm pretty sure if the party which won had lost, they'd would have also claimed to have been rigged out. The only reason they're not crying foul is because they won and so also would their rivals if they had won.

One clear instance of that, is the rigging of the elections in Rivers state. The same governor, a so-called Christian, that massively rigged the elections in the favour of the rival presidential candidate of his party, has been rigging elections for his party in previous elections. But those who benefitted from his massive rigging previously didn't have any issue with it, it's only now that he has used the same rigging mechanism against them that they're now crying foul, which is nothing but sheer hypocrisy.

If it's in in the area of health, the sitting president was also mocked and ridicled at some point because of his health. Some even maliciously claimed he was dead and had been replaced by Jubrin of Sudan, the worst part was that many fell for that blatant lie, including some Christians and church leaders, but the same president miraculously emerged from the jaws and shadows of death and now appears fitter and healthier than ever.

He even outlived some of those who mocked him and claimed he was dead, so if God could do it for the sitting president why not the president-elect?

I'm not a fan of the president-elect as I was of MKO Abiola. I didn't even support or vote for him during the election, but when I was praying for Nigeria days before the election, when I had no idea how the election would pan out, God told me APC would win and it came to pass as God said.

https://www.nairaland.com/7234820/what-saw-nigeria-next-president#121245078

I don't still know what the result entails for the nation because God hasn't told me any more than that, but I believe that God's plans for Nigeria is still on course regardless.

One of the reasons I am not a fan of the president-elect is his ego and pride, but if God could humble King Nebuchadnezzar, how much more the president-elect?

Here is an excerpt of his acceptance speech which offered a bit of hope:

"I am grateful to Almighty God. By His mercy, I was born a son of Nigeria and through His sublime purpose I find myself the victor of this election. May He grant me the wisdom and courage to lead the nation to the greatness He alone has destined for it."

If he actually meant it, i would say, a big "amen" to the prayer, and if it be the Will of God, let it be done!

God bless Nigeria.
The election was rigged.
You are a liar anyway what else to expect from a satanjnr

There is NO "I am" in Hebrew language.
The Greek Bible translators used the Greek language "I am" expression to convey the Hebrew Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh as best they could.
In the same manner, that some individuals prefer speaking their native tongue to make a statement which no word for word statement could express in English.
Exodus 3:4, Moses says I am.
Isaiah 6:8, Isaiah says "I am."

More so, Acts 3:13 , John 7:16 & Isaiah 6:8 has given the proper clarity of Exodus 3:14-16.

Asher Ehyeh is a verb in Hebrew used for both future and present tense.

VBCampaign:
What Should Christians Do with a Bola Tinubu Presidency?

By: Deji Yesufu

Earlier this morning, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was pronounced winner of the 2023 Presidential elections in Nigeria. Tinubu becomes the 16th president and Head of State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Tinubu, a Muslim from South-West Nigeria, had chosen a Muslim from North-East Nigeria as running mate. In the process, he led his campaign on a Muslim-Muslim ticket, which alienated a lot of Christian voters. Tinubu had clearly reasoned that the votes he will pull from northern Nigeria will far outweigh the votes from a vexed section of Christian voters. And one must admit that he was right after all. The natural question therefore is this: what do Christians do with a Bola Tinubu Presidency? My short answer will be to counsel that we accept it. The long answer will be explained in the rest of the essay.

First. Christians must come to terms with how the Bible regards political power. Scripture teaches that all power belongs to God and he bestows them on whomever he wishes. What it means is that in the providence of God, nothing could happen in the political arena of Nigeria without God ordaining it. In other words, God made Tinubu the Nigerian president. I have read commentaries elsewhere where it is suggested that God could never make somebody with the kind of record Tinubu has president. Truth is that if every one of the contestants are weighed on the balance of God’s holiness, no one will emerge worthy. God still uses imperfect people in governance. Except for Joseph and Daniel, every other ruler in the Bible were heathens. Why do we think that God will then raise a Christian or a near perfect man to rule Nigeria?

Second. The political contest is not over. Nigeria still has a judiciary, no matter how imperfect she is. At the last count, Bola Tinubu polled 8.7 million votes; Atiku – 6.9M; Obi – 6.1M; and Kwankwanso – 1.7M. On the natural, the difference between Obi and Tinubu votes is a mere 2.6M votes. If the Labour Party do their home work well, they can narrow down this difference through careful data collection from polling units and go to argue their case in court. But does this nullify my earlier claim that God made Tinubu president? No, it does not. The same God who made Tinubu president now can remove him through legal means. The opposition have been positing that Tinubu rigged himself to government. That’s fine. The onus is on them to argue their case in court, present their evidence and allow the judiciary to pronounce on the matter. Whatever comes out of that process is the will of God. Does that mean that God is just sitting down, rubber stamping everything men do? No. It means that God has both decreed the end from the beginning and also ensures the means to the end. True faith concludes that God is in charge, whatever the actions of men.

Third. Nigeria is the Christian’s Jerusalem. God’s command to us is to pray for the peace of Jerusalem because if she has peace, we will have peace also (Jeremiah 29:7). Now the political peace of Nigeria has been long in the making. Nigeria is not a divine entity; this country did not fall from heaven. It was human beings who put the concept of nationhood together and concluded that large swaths of communities connected together as a nation will fair better than isolated communities. The modern Nigerian state came about via British colonisation of our people. After the British left, Nigeria has gone through ups and down. The country has endured a thirty-month war; it has also experienced period of sustained prosperity; etc. All of these add up to the making of the country. Every thing Nigeria has experienced as a nation are part of God’s providence for her and the Christian mindset is that all of these will add up towards God fulfilling his good purpose for us. And God’s primary purpose for Nigeria is the redemption of his elect within this nation state. Whatever will make for peace, the preaching of the gospel and the enduring of a Christian Church in Nigeria is God’s purpose for this country. Anything else is secondary. So, any government that will allow for the gospel to thrive is the government Christians must pray for.

Lastly. In the light of the aforementioned: with the reality of God sovereignty actively working to give Nigeria a purposeful government and God working through any circumstance, including overturning a Tinubu government in the judiciary and installing Obi, the Christian’s attitude is one of complete faith in God. God is in charge. Therefore, the Christian’s attitude to a Bola Ahmed Tinubu government is one that calls us to pray for him. We must plead with God that Tinubu will succeed in his proposed policies. We must pray that God will give him health and wisdom. We must ask that God send him sound men to develop a new Nigeria. We must pray against nothing evil befalling him. After we have prayed, we must trust God to do his will.

As I close this essay, I wish to make an appeal to Eastern Nigeria who are the biggest losers in the Peter Obi botched presidential campaign: please be patient. My friend from Enugu told me that he put his reputation on the line, calling his friends who had sympathy for IPOB to give the Nigerian project a chance: that a free and fair election can happen in Nigeria. He says now he cannot say anything because he is now being blamed. He said if his friends resort to guerrilla warfare against Nigeria, he will not be able to oppose them again. I sympathise with the Ibo nation but I can only appeal for peace. I believe the judiciary still works and Peter Obi had used the Judiciary before to recover a stolen mandate. Let’s allow peace to reign and let’s argue our case like responsible people. Most people only know how violence begin; few know how it will end. I believe Ndigbo will one day have her son rule Nigeria. Peter Obi made a very good statement towards that end in the just concluded elections. Nigeria is better together than torn apart.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

1.The female goat or sheep represent christ submission because female animals are less aggressive compared to the male.

2.The animal must be without bruises represent sinlessness, the perfect sacrifice must be sinless

3. Jesus was his own priest and his body was the temple, since the temple represnt the place where God dwells, God was in Christ.

4. God does not demand for human sacrifice, the sacrifice of Jesus was willingly taken by Jesus to take up our place, just like a man taking the place of his condemned friend.

I don't think a man perishing in a deep well will care what colour of rope is thrown at him as long as he is rescued. When he survives it is only then that he will realise the fact that it is only that rope that saved him. When a man gets saved by our Lord Jesus Christ he will then know that it is only Jesus that can save.
A man perishing in deep well could grab a straw with all his might but will perish all the same. Truth is not sincerity, the true gospel present Jesus as the only way not one of the ways this is necessary so that man can be saved. One can be sincerely wrong, does not matter the honesty, zeal or enthusiasm if he believe in the wrong gospel then he is simply grabbing on to a straw.

A newborn baby doesn't understand how it was conceived but when it matures it will then understand how his parents procreated him. The baby doesn't need to know the details before it can be born. The same goes for a man to be born again. He does not need to know how God is three distinct personalities and yet one God before he can get saved.

After one gets saved he then learns who God really is as he grows into maturity.

If one is truly saved in such a church God will find a way of nurturing him to the truth.
He does not need to understand the Trinity to be saved. But however ,the Trinity is at the heart of the gospel. You can't preach the gospel by omitting the father and the Son.

The fatherhood of God and the Sonship of Jesus christ lies the heart of the gospel and this my friend is the bed rock of the Trinity.

Are you saying that until you believe that Jesus is the only way or until you fully comprehend and believe in the Trinity before you can be saved? undecided
No a man cannot believe in Jesus if he accept that Jesus is his only means of salvation. It is only when a man accept Jesus as the only way to be saved can he truly put his trust in Jesus and his works on the cross.

Comprehending the Trinity? No not really, one doesn't need to comprehend the Trinity to be saved but the tenets of the Trinity makes up the gospel namely that God the father gave us his Son Jesus christ to redeem us. For one to deny the Trinity means he denies the truth about the personhood of the father and Son. One cannot reject the Trinity and be saved because that would tantamount to believing a lie.

I don't mean one has to understand the Trinity to be saved but at the core of the gospel is the Trinity, accepting the gospel means accepting the Trinity to deny the Trinity means one didn't believe the gospel in the first place.

For example, the oneness pentecostal do not believe in the personhood of the father and the Son hence their faith is not grounded to scriptural truth this simply means they have another gospel and are not saved.
