Lol, Tresemme seems to have a good relationship with Buhari though. Either way, I doubt she is ready back any government till this EU business is done. michlins: |
Going by my logic, you are unfit to rule a country like Nigeria especially with Sowore's personality. You really do not want to compare both. Mandela was a political leader who held several political positions before he was elected the president. He worked with policy makers. He drafted policies. His influence and intelligence were so remarkable that he won his first election hands down. Do you know what Mandela did to the white supremacist when he became the president? He did not go about punishing them, rather he tried to bridge the past with future. IMO, restorative justice was the way to go. It showed the kind of man he was. Now, contrast it with what Mugabe did when he became the president. Hint, what do you think Sowore would have done if he were in their position. Hint- he would have acted like Mugabe, lots of good that did the Zimbabweans. Reform should not come from someone with so much unresolved issues. Will you with a straight face look at Sowore's manifesto and his reasons for running for government and say this will work? Our economy relies completely and solely on corruption. Without it, you go suffer. You think Buhari early months, with the effects of his anti-corruption speeches and autocratic attitude, were suffering, they will be nothing compared with what you will have with Sowore. Unfortunately, this is not the middle ages or early 90s, the world is global now. Actions will have serious economic and political consequences-well, except you are part of the major league. And guess what, the likelihood of coming out of it is a chance I am not willing to take. It won't be like Japan, Oh no, I almost forgot that Japan is not as diverse as Nigeria. Even Iran is yet to achieve such feat, they started late and how many years has it been and it has started crashing? Basically, we can't suddenly become an anti-corrupt nation. We the people are not ready, the system is not designed to be anti-corruption. A true manifesto will not read that a Youth corper salary's should be increased to N50k or propose to create jobs out of thin air (are you forgetting that our private companies thrives because of corruption). Fight against corruption has to be systematic, you can't suddenly come in and weed it out. A manifesto for a reformed Nigeria will be talking about bringing determinants together. It doesn't need to mention corruption, jobs or increasing salaries. We need practical solutions like TSA. Solutions that start with reforming and cutting bureacracy in government, institutions that encourage public accountability, government backed community policing, active PTA involvement in public schools etc. We are talking about a man that is not yet the president but is alre ady very petty. Sahara Reporters is a good project, I give him that. Let him gain proper political experience in Nigeria and see how he performs, then we can talk. I will definitely like to see how he transforms his local government. Note, I didn't talk about Obama because I think you are comparing apples with oranges fsho: |
If you were to take a ride, will you prefer an untrained driver because he supposedly has integrity over a bad driver? Irrespective of how bad the present leaders are, it is not enough to choose a man that is yet to prove himself, a man that cannot control his outburst and frankly, his sanctimonious attitude is way too narcissistic. I don't have anything to lose and I don't have anything to gain either. I am just concerned about people who think he is a Messiah. We should be careful what we wish for, he may be another Mugabe. fsho: |
I understand that those with experience have failed us but then again it is not enough reason to vote in a man with no experience and who does not seem to think things through. I am not saying he should not contest. However, if he sincerely wants to lead this country, he needs to take baby steps. He cannot be mouthing off on how he is going to achieve the impossible without the experience, facts and figures. princetom1: |
Why is the cake ugly? |
Sowore has some unresolved issues. He takes his activism way too far, so many idiosyncrasies...that includes his present suit. I am more concerned about his supporters. This is a man who has held no political post who thinks his activism is enough experience to rule the most populous black nation. If he is indeed true to his cause, let him start with the local government chairmanship post. Politics may appear easy but in reality, it is not. Even autocratic nations with their strict laws, death penalty, undemocratic rules and nationalism still struggle, in a country like Nigeria politics is a total new ball game |
Right to be uncouth in a debate aired on TV during the hours kids are still up? [quote author=Wiseandtrue post=74792393 ]Have you ever heard of individual differences ![]() No sane person likes Buhari or whatever but he's still the president ![]() He has rights and it's has nothing to do with what you ayouthink of him! It is racism when you insult others because they are darker skinned or insult other typical 'black' features. You can say she is ugly without insulting her race. Algerian1: |
They don't believe they are white. They know they are arabs but with strong preference for fairer skinned women. You can be Arab and be very fair. There is prejudice against darker skinned women irrespective of their race. The Europeans used to have preference for fairer skinned women at a certain point in history. Onechancearmy: |
IMO, Fuji music is not the best genre. I don't think there is something called the best music. They have some nice songs. For some, I can barely hear them and for others, the beats are way too loud and heavy for my taste. |
You definitely don't understand the Yoruba language. Your parents probably only thought you how to speak. crafteck: |
Then you know nothing about Fuji music. They may be yours to you but I can bet with your life they have achieved how more intellectual content than your favourite musicians. MightySparrow: |

Have you forgiven someone today? Try and strike up a conversation with that person that hurt you last year. A leap is what you need to be a better person |
What is complicated about telling a child that her parents provide for the family? It is true for most working class homes and certainly the true reflection of the homes your pupils come from. |
1) Quite easy, too many Nigerians 2)I don't you have much control over that. However, moving with Nigerians from home may help you. 3) Overall, not very cold. TroublemakerPro: |
@Herlertah You haven't mentioned how good your maths is. Calculating without calculator is not enough, people don't mind using apps nowadays. Application is all that matters, is your maths above average? If it is, you should have chosen a course that is maths intensive like mathematics, engineering, statistics and data science and aim to distinguish yourself. You should also consider studying outside the country it you can. |
Why is your mother begging? If you have talked to her and she is not listening, let her be. She probably needs to make her mistakes. |
You can't run away form cancer! |
It is her body and she is an adult. She can make video of herself if she likes. If the video was without his consent, she could have apologised to him already, she does not need to publicise her apology. That choice is for Peruzzi not you. There was not a single denial her post and She did not deride Peruzzi either. The consequences of her recklessness and shortsightedness are for her and her family to bear. They are the ones that deserve some apology and the apology does not need to be public or involve you. VictorRomanov: |
Remorse for what? VictorRomanov: |
Some parting gift though ![]() |
More stringent laws on drones to follow..all because of an idiot! |
This is not an apology! |
Lol. This is good ![]() IamD18: |
May he rest in pieces. He should go and account to BH victims and God. This is not about Buhari or Atiku or Jonathan. To hell with all of them! |
