FamilyRe: Feminism Redefined By Emma Watson by Stillfire: 1:02am On Sep 26, 2014
pweetyz: ..UHMM..hi..i don't think this calls for the use of ill words okay..you should never call another human cursed especially someone you do not know in any way..it is simply barbaric and uncalled for..i spoke strictly on the bible and quoted the verses so you can go read it yourself..maybe u're not a christian cos if you are then you would know that the bible cannot lie..i disn't personalise it cos it wasn't personalised in the bible
Lol, why do you take offense? I'm only reiterating the bible and giving you some background on the original reason every Christian woman should know. As a Christian you should know that the woman was cursed to live in subordination to the man. The Christian woman like yourself exercises the curse that was dealt to her at the garden of Eden. So my dear, if you don't know, now you do. grin

My second question was
Since you allude to the superiority of the man, what does that make you? Is it not inferior?
FamilyRe: Feminism Redefined By Emma Watson by Stillfire: 12:35am On Sep 26, 2014
pweetyz: Well..i'm in support of emma's speech but the truth is that females can never be equal to the males, because we were created to be under them..and i'll prove this from the bible

in the book of proverbs 31:10-31..it is written that silence and humility should be the virtues that a woman possesses..it states that women are not to have authority over men as Adam was created first and as it was eve who was deceived and who broke Gods law...please read it up for a better understanding
in 1st corinthians 11..here God makes known man's superiority over the woman..he states that a woman reflects the glory of man..and that women where created from men and not men from women..also read up yourself
in 1st peter 3:1..the bible tells us that women are to be submissive to men and that they are also the weaker vessels..also read up

we also see what the bible states in our every day activities..in sports, the lighter javelin, discuss and shot put is given to them..they are also given lighter weights to lift whike working out and the best male in a field of sport is always better than the best female..and hefty activities are also reserved for the male sex

i don't really know much about feminist but i know what they fight for and also want them to know that according to the words of the bible and the nature of females..THERE CAN NEVER BE EQUALITY OF THE SEXES as God has placed the males above the females in every endeavour in life..
this however does not imply that women cannot excel exceedingly in their respective careers..
i am opposed to the unequal pay rate though..because it is injustice which God opposes as everyone should get what they duly deserve..if a woman should work as hard as a man does or even better..why not an equal pay or even higher
the male sex tends to take advantage of the females vulnerable nature which is just so wrong as the bible advises that men treat women with care because of their vulnerabilty
thank you
Hehehe, Next time kindly speak for yourself. If you were created to be under a man, that's fine. Just learn how to personalize your speech with the use of I.

And no, Eve was not created to be under a man. It was as a result of sin which led to curses this issue came about. You are actually under a curse. There's no need for the long epistle to curry favor the fact that you as a woman are under a curse. tongue

So if you allude to the man's superiority, does that mean you are inferior? cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Sophyrocks: This just reminds me of way back secondary school. my physics teacher asked me to point an aparatus in the lab. so i had to leave my seat and walk to the front of the class to point it out. when he saw i got it right, i turned around and was walking back to my seat when suddenly i heard loud screams from the girls in class. I was like "What the heck is going on"? They were all laughing and screaming. Some girls told me that when i turned around and was catwalking back to my seat, our physics teacher actually was checking me out and licking his lips. Gosh!!! I was so embaraassed!! Since then, our physics teacher started becoming unnecessaarily strict with me.
Good ol days!

CultureRe: The Plight Of The Northern Child by Stillfire: 8:47pm On Sep 22, 2014
To think Northerners have been at the helm of affairs in Nigeria since I was born.
You are taking up arms to kill the Nigerian people that are suffering like you? You are not serious.
You say you took up arms to fight for better lives? So bombing innocent people at motor parks who have chosen to make lemonade out of the diseased lemons Nigeria throws at them is what you call fighting to better your life?
You say Zamfara...now that sounds familiar. Is that not the state that introduced Sharia into secular Nigeria? So you guys were suffering and Senator Yerima who was then governor was more interested in preserving a borrowed religion than your well being? You people are still not serious.
Your way of life is tied around a few being stupendously wealthy and the majority of the populace being subjected to stupendous poverty. In fact you are very very comfortable with this dynamic. This was the method your people used to rule and finish off Nigeria. And it ended up killing off the middle class. The middle class in the South ran away to other countries, that some have not been back in decades. However, Northern students that school abroad, never ever stay back, they go back to Nigeria because a lucrative job is waiting for them by a principality and powerful relative in Nigeria who is holding the country to ransom.

Please ring me up when you are done licking the bum bum of your leaders. When are you going to pelt eggs on Senator Yerima, his predecessors and successors for allowing your state to be in such deplorable conditions? Why can't you hold your governors to ransom instead of the whole country? Naa, according to the intelligence of the average Northerner, the unholy South is to blame, rubbish!

I will judge every damn nigerian, rich or poor. All have contributed to the rot called Nigeria.

I don't think it will take some westernized pressure to prevent me from using a blade to draw lines on my face though. grin tongue

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichi_(scarification)

Ichi was facial ritual scarification worn by mainly men of the Igbo people of Nigeria. The scarification indicated that the wearer had passed through initial initiation into the highest society Nze na Ozo.,[2] thus marking the wearer as nobility. The scarification was found among men in the Awka-Nri areas and among a few women in the Awgwu and Nkanu areas. There are two styles; the Nri style worn in the Awka-Nri areas, and the Agbaja style worn in the Awgwu and Nkanu areas.[3] In the Nri style, the carved line ran from the center of the forehead down to the chin. A second line ran across the face, from the right cheek to the left. This was repeated to obtain a pattern meant to imitate the rays of the sun. In the Agbaja style, circles and semicircular patterns are added to the initial incisions to represent the moon. These scarifications were given to the representatives of the eze Nri; the mbùríchi.[4] The scarifications were Nris' way of honoring the sun that they worshipped and was a form of ritual purification.[5]

coogar: all my life, i have been used to good clothes, expensive meals, smart flats, sports cars & elegant women. i can't give that all up cos i am married to you & you want me to be the house-husband. i am high maintenance. designer outfits look better on me than "sura the tailor" products. grin

my cheapest pair is about £500.
you would have to maintain my lifestyle or else we might have a problem. taking care of the kids & the house is no problem. if you can't afford househelps, go to your village & bring maidens who want the lagos exposure.....men did that in the past too, they brought long distant relatives to help the wives out. grin
Lol. You have to live by my rules otherwise I will send your Ghana must go back to your parents house. grin grin what a naughty husband. grin cheesy
FamilyRe: Female Breadwinners Lament 'we Slave To Feed Our ‘househusbands’ by Stillfire: 9:21pm On Sep 20, 2014
coogar: why weren't the husbands interviewed? when women were predominantly housewives, it was their moaning we heard. now that nigerian men are becoming househusbands, the interview should have involved them too....after all, they are the ones likely to be abused as they have no income to fall back on.......

then stop moaning!
take the reins of the marriage and take whatever bumps & grind that come with being the head. men were heads even when they had irresponsible wives who just sat down all day, ate like pigs & farted all over the settee.

the men never moaned, they took solace in the fact that at least, the kids are being taken care of. women should do the same as well - work hard like trojan horses and be contented with the fact that your hubby is taking care of the home front. he's a man & he's more likely to eat more so you as a proud woman must work harder to be able to afford his needs.

his gucci watches, creed cologne, ferragamo shoes and his SUV must be refreshed bi-annually. register him in a decent gym so that his performance in the bedroom is kept at the optimum level. that was how men took care of the needs of their wives in the past, women should borrow a leaf and stop being a crybaby.

by the time you spend 80% of your salary on my pair of shoes alone, na you go kpeme. grin
I don't moan, I take charge. cool cool
And you would have to give me a detailed analysis on why you need to spend 80% of my money on shoes. This even affirms why I need to take up the role as head for thinking of spending 80% of my money on shoes. The madam and head that I am would veto any unnecessary expenses.

FamilyRe: Female Breadwinners Lament 'we Slave To Feed Our ‘househusbands’ by Stillfire: 8:37pm On Sep 20, 2014
coogar: how come men don't cry out that they slave to feed their housewives. must women moan over everything? when women were asked to sit at home so men would bring the bacon - they screamed out that they are being marginalised or discriminated against.

now men are taking the backseat so that women can do what they have always wanted to do & yet they are still screaming that they are slaving to feed their husbands. which is which? feminism fought for 50 years to put women in this position, it would be heartbreaking if women are still not satisfied.
A journalist gathered information on Nigerian househusbands that still think in their minds they are the head, and the women spoke truthfully and you say they are moaning?
As a proud woman, I have absolutely no problems if you wish to take the backseat, just know that the roles have been reversed if you show any sign of irresponsibility. I will not be put to ruin because I married. I will take the reins of the marriage, place you on a monthly allowance. If your ego can't take it, you better go and make another woman's life a living misery. kiss nobody should be made redundant when you are not handicapped.
FamilyRe: Female Breadwinners Lament 'we Slave To Feed Our ‘househusbands’ by Stillfire: 8:22pm On Sep 20, 2014
crackhaus: @emboldened, that is where most women in this situation get it completely wrong...which in turn is directly responsible for why a man married to one of such women begins to rebel and do things his wife may see as unappreciation.

How does being a househusband relinquish a man of his position as head of the household?
Is being the head of the house dependent solely on who brings the money/most money?
You are beginning to defy logic.
It's not about money. Do the men in these scenarios look or sound responsible? With cheating tales and violent streaks. Have they not relinquished the rights to be called heads? Does a head spend money fruitlessly and aimlessly? Can you say The decisions the men in the stories make are in the best interest of the family? It is a marriage. When the head has faltered in his responsibilities the wife must take up the position of the head to set the family straight. Place the man on a monthly allowance and he has to be useful on the home front. If your ego is too big, bigger that mountain Everest, use that ego to make yourself worthwhile again. I don't even have patience for women who leech on their husbands. The economy is hard, every damn person must make themselves useful!!!! If you ego is too big, you should never ever have gotten married. Marriage is about sacrifices, you must learn to sacrifice your ego and take a position if you are incapable of meeting up!

My parents were certainly overprotective, but who can blame them. Nigeria is morally corrupt. I used to complain and deep down I still dislike that overprotective quality to them, but they've managed to give birth to responsible citizens of the world. So I guess they did something right. FamilyRe: Female Breadwinners Lament 'we Slave To Feed Our ‘househusbands’ by Stillfire: 2:14pm On Sep 20, 2014
The roles have really not been defined in these households. The man still thinks he's the head. The man must willingly accept his role as a househusband and the wife as the head of the household. The head of the household has to be firm on how money should be spent. The woman should not complain if the husband takes care of the home, the kids, cooks, and makes the house presentable. If you lose your job, kindly make yourself useful on the home front. That is why it takes two to make a marriage. When one falls, the roles can be reversed.

coogar: we are talking about eligible men here not riff-raffs. if men are so many, why do you have all those old hag sisters in church with chapped lips and black berets? cheesy grin cheesy
those sisters that have fasted & prayed for 200 days consecutively, yet no groom....no marriage proposal. there's hardly nigerian man that is well to do that doesn't have up to 8 girlfriends. biko, the women are the leftovers, not the men.
jenny, be warned!!
congolese men have nothing on naija men. the stereotypical naija men didn't take part in that research. i am sure they stopped at calabar to measure those short men near obudu ranch. cheesy grin
Those old hags were not smart that was why I gave my epistle on church girls 2 pages ago.
Nigerian pastors have made heaven a priority for only women. Men are held on a different standard.
