Music/Radio › Who Can Help With This Song? by stonecoldcafe(op): 8:34pm On Jan 24, 2016 |
Heard it on Rhythm some minutes ago. I wasn't too fast so I missed most of it again. Second time I've missed it. I would be grateful if the words strike a chord and someone can help.
A part of the chorus goes ''carry you on my head like dada... So what you sayyyyyyy..."
Its a Nigerian song and a guy sang it. Sounds like Praise or Banky was on it (rhythm and blues kinda feel) but it could be anyone. Any ideas anyone? |

christopher123: Oga I know ndokwa very well pls let the world know where we have isoko in ndokwa maybe the word ndokwa has now become isoko word ...
This guy is funny ...isoko ain't igbo and can't be igbo but ndokwa is an igbo word
Ukwuani isn't the only people in ndokwa ...we have other clans like aboh
And I have seen that you have challenges in comprehension and this is the result of not attending good school because I know comprehension is a topic in English
I never said ndokwa I called ukwuani
Now take this or leave it
Ukwuani speaks the same brand of dialect with Oguta in imo state
Do some research Every land is your own. Every tribe is your own. It cannot be oga sir! I don't care dialect or not! Enter Delta State, enter Edo, Rivers or Bayelsa and ask them. Whether they have similar names or speak like you, they don't want to be part of you. God bless sir. |

If na me, I accept. If you mean my mum then I suggest you read up about the charismatic renewal movement in the catholic church. Larryfly: Bro, I want to be a true Christian in catholic church. But the Word there is weak. I got more conscious of building a relationship with God when I visited another church, just the preaching for that day gave me a serious rethink. I came back to my catholic church and I wasnt feeling it. I really want to get close to God in catholic not just observing catholic rituals and doctrines. Christianity is way deeper than that. Perhaps its your parish or the priest therein. Try moving parish and see if you still feel the same way. I was born into a catholic home and so I get where you're coming from. I'm no longer there but from time to time, I still attend. I can't help it. My parents are still die hard catholics and their parish priest dey preach die. My mum also attends charismatic so sometimes you feel she is in a pentecoastal church. After she speak in tongues and preach ehn, you go confuse but by the time she carry her rosary again, you are reminded she is truly catholic. |

dROC1: @OP, the bolded was your problem. You fired the first salvo, she fired back and you lost. The unit manager wins most if not all cases taken to HR as it is essentially you vs the company. If you couldn't win at HR, do not expect to win in court. From experience, the first 2 months in new employment are the toughest but eventually they get off your case. You should have endured but you're a fighter and just had to get a case in with HR less than 2 months into your employment. God bless you for this. Most unit head have their friends or mole in strategic positions e.g HR. Op I know this seems like medicine after death but this could help others or even show you where you probably lost it. Were you proud? Where you singing with the fact that you were once in her position? Did you say this openly or to her face? Did you humble yourself to receive correction? Were you truly slow on the job? So much to recall. Oh well just move on... |
Career › Re: I Want To Sue My Employer For Terminating My Appointment Without Reason by stonecoldcafe: 10:54am On Jan 24, 2016 |
samguru: My fellow Nairalanders please what should I do?
I was fired on Thursday and no reason was stated in the termination of appointment letter.
Should I go to industrial court to seek redress or write the management to ask the reason why my appointment was terminated, because throughout my 2 months stay in the company I did not receive any notice of warning neither was involved in any fraud case.
Please what should I do?
I was employed as a subordinate under the head of a department in November last year, meanwhile before resigning my appointment in my former place of work,I was the head of the same department.
Right from day one in the new workplace, she started making my work difficult, she did not give me proper orientation and failed to attach me to a trainer,as a matter of fact she said to me and I quote " you should learn how to use company software in two days, in short you should be on your own in three days"
Everyday she makes life horrible for me, she hauls insults at me as If I was a greenhorn in the field. infact there was a day she said I was looking like a slowpoke, that I am too slow for her liking. A month and some weeks later in the employment, she said she has done her assessment and submitted, that I scored zero in every area, that the fresh graduates perform better than me.
At that point,I sensed she was seeing me as a threat and for peace to reign,I called and tried to pacify her,she said she does not have anything against me.
and being new in the system, I have to learn how to use the software and office procedures, but this madam does not have soft spot for me on small mistakes, she always say this' you don't know anything you better go back to your former place of work'. I got fed up and reported the matter to the HR,I was told to be patient with her and asked if I wanted redeployment which I said yes.
She relegated me to the state of nonentity by attaching me to an intern( to be assisting an intern).
When my appointment was terminated on Thursday, I was told to go and do clearance, to my amazement when I took my clearance form to her, she was not sympathetic at all rather she said "so fast" and signed instantly.
I knew my sack was orchestrated by her and I want justice for her wicked act.
please how should I go about it? So sorry. Don't waste ur penny on court; just go back to searching for jobs. I'm sure your reporting to HR was the one that did you in. Next time report her to God and blast MFM type prayers on her head... Die, die, die, all my enemies fall down and die, confusion, confusion, confusionnnnnnnnnnn! |

ugosly: Even the continuos use of 'sexy' in her name calls for serious concern. I have no qualms with her looking good or seeking to stay in the limelight, but I think that as a married woman and a mother of 4 grown kids she is too old to have her fans continue to objectify and portray her as a sex symbol. She ought to be creative and move on to more mature stuff and activities. You need to check out ladies like Mo Abudu,Joke Silva, Onyeka Onwenu just to mention a few, they are still shinning in the lime light and yet not selling or exuding sexuality. She remains an actress whether old or young. She is in the business of entertainment and that's what pays her bills. You can confirm that even though she is not acting so much these days, endorsements continue to chase her. How do you think those endorsement come? You think sitting pretty with jalabiya does it? She's got to be up n about. Going for events and looking very good while at it. She's got to make sense on her social media from light jokes to politics, her family and even sexy throwback pics. That's how she remains in your consciousness. That is HER JOb whether you like it or not. And as long as you holy fans are not paying her bills, kindly keep shut! Pity if you make her your role model cos these folks ain't perfect. Make Jesus or the pope your role model instead. Omosexy is the brand she has built and it continues to give her cheques till date! AmiLaHoit: When next u are asked that kind of question, ensure u avoid stating an amount. You could say, "I believe that a reputable company like urs can pay me a fairly reasonable and motivating amount, which will not affect their budgeted profit". Leave the interviewer to struggle with the meaning. Always make ur responses as short as possible I've been in that position where I gave such an answer and the people insisted "ehn so give a figure, tell me something" I didn't want to be seen to be rude, hence I gave a figure. On the 2nd occasion, I was most hesitant and didn't want to be bullied until the interviewer told me "I get the feeling you don't really need this job" at that stage I had to say something. So sometimes, that reply does not work. |

Education › Re: A Plea For Help...NDDC has left us hopeless in the UK by stonecoldcafe: 5:59pm On Jan 21, 2016 |
AnthonyAnderson: I really don't know how to start this but I pray this medium brings a solution to our problem.
I write on behalf of over 50 students whom are all beneficiaries of the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) foreign scholarship. In September 2015, we departed for a 12 months Masters programme in the UK. Prior to departure we were informed by NDDC staff that we would pay for visa processing and travel arrangements with our own money with the promise that our allowances would be paid within a month or two on our arrival in the UK. This was shocking to me as I had imagined a commission as big and well funded as the NDDC could easily make necessary arrangements for such just like how PTDF does for its scholars.
I was left with no option but to go begging family and friends to raise the required sum for me to apply for a UK visa, purchase flight tickets and estimated costs for three months accommodation and feeding. I wondered if this was how a foreign scholarship was meant to be. I almost gave up in seeking for assistance but favour smiled on me and I was able to receive donations from family and friends. With the money raised I purchased all I needed and traveled. NDDC had promised to send our allowances by the end of October. On arrival at school I realized that the accommodation was more than I had budgeted for and so could not afford it. Fortunately I had a friend that stayed in the next city and had to put up with him for the time being pending when I would secure an accommodation on receipt of my allowance. Fast forward to last week in November, NDDC officials in their numbers visited us (They surely spent more than half our entire allowance on their trip) promising we would now receive our allowances before the year runs out. Now in the second week of January 2016 we are yet to receive any allowance from NDDC or even assurance of when we will be paid. This is five months into a 12 month programme and not a dime has been sent to us. It might be surprising to note that the same NDDC has paid tuition fees to the schools since they know that the schools will not accept us without tuition fees which is far higher than the allowances we are supposed to receive but for some funny reasons they have refused to send a dime for upkeep(accommodation and feeding). Most of us have tried contacting the officials in the scholarship department of NDDC and all we receive are rude responses giving us the impression we are begging for alms. Particularly one Mrs Sotonye, who is always so rude on the phone whenever she chooses to answer calls to her phone and would never reply text messages sent to her.
My question is how do you send students abroad without giving them a dime for over 5 months? If there is no money for the scholarship why then send people out in the first instance? But surely this is not the case as tuition fees had already been paid. The idea of the scholarship is to relieve our parents of the financial burden of furthering our education because we are mostly not from wealthy homes. We have been forced to finds jobs even though these jobs cannot pay for our monthly house rent. The NDDC is not broke as to to say they cannot afford to send us our allowances. It is sad to see corruption has killed every conscience in people as can be exemplified by NDDC officials in charge of the scholarship whom I wonder if they would love their children to be treated as such.
With the recent ban by the CBN on the use of naira cards you can only imagine our plights as even our parents are helpless towards our situation. It is our hope the president GMB and the new acting chairman of the NDDC Mrs. Ibim Seminitari will quickly come to our aid.
It is our prayers that the bad eggs in the NNDC whom have continually denied us our monthly allowances for months now will be investigated and prosecuted so that future beneficiaries of the scholarship wont be allowed to go through the torture we are currently going through. Sometimes I feel regret... I feel regret because how do I bring out the best in me when i have to constantly remind myself that my next day food is not guaranteed coupled with the load of course work I have to battle at night after school.
It is sad to see that the NDDC has truly failed. One cannot only but imagine that maybe allowances meant for us have been diverted for personal gains. Sorry bout your plight. I believe you were sent to the uk. I take it you can work part time abi? Pleaase drop your cv in asda, tesco, morrisson, waitrose or sainsbury. Just quit moaning; go and stack shelves or swipe at the till until nddc gets their house in order. Good luck |
