Crime › Re: How I Was Almost Lynched At Ring Road, Benin. by stonecoldcafe: 1:03pm On Jan 14, 2016 |
Emmytrill: This is a true life personal experience and a great testimony.
If not for the grace of God, i don't know where i would have been by now, maybe heaven or hell
On this very day, i went to the Immigration office at Ramat park area, Ikpoba Hill Benin to pick up my passport. The thought of travelling out of the country for the first time was overwhelming. A colleague of mine before i left to pick up the passport gave me 13k to help him pay into the bank.
Because of the enthusiasm within me, i wanted to collect the passport first, then pay the money into the bank on my way back. To show that God is in deed meciful and my mama prayer no dey go in vein a spirit just told me why not pay in the money first since you will pass through the bank. My brothers and sisters, i heeded to my instinct, and that saved my life as you will soon find out.
Getting to the Immigration with all the stress and waiting, i finally got my passport o and i was ecstatic! Na first time na . On my way back, i boarded a bus to ring road. i couldnt take my hands off the the passport as i was looking at it left, right and centre. I observed that a more advanced lady sitting close to me was just looking at the passport i was holding and smiling. For my mind i say watin dey worry this one, , she never see who hold passport before?
Immediately i alighted from the bus, and was walking to board another one, i heard someone calling Bros! Bros! Bros!. i turned and the lady came to me and said ''Bros, na u sitdown near me just now, my 13k dey miss from my pocket'' Mogbe, for ring road of all places . i just calmly asked her, did you see me branch anywhere else, she said no, and i told her i'm ready to be searched and i don't have your money. At this time, people were already gathering ooo and she was beginning to raise her voice! see embarrasment of the century! I was still pleading my innocence when i saw a Civil Defence Officer and i beckoned on him to please come to my aid.
The man called us and was asking us what the problem is all about. I explained all i knew and the lady did same, insisting i took her money from her pocket , See a whole me with a good job, just because i take public transport!
The security guy then asked the lady, ''you sure say this well dressed young boy take your money?'' she said yes! just then, the agberos around were already waiting to pounce on me! probably to burn me alive. my mind quickly went to Allu 4 at Uniport . Then the security man told the lady that if she should search me, and they don't find the money, she will be seriously dealt with and if its found on me, i will go in for it! What if i didn't pay in that 13k? would they have allowed me to explain anything?
Just then, the lady started sturtering that it should not be like that, blah blah blah. The officer became angry with her that she just put my life on the line by accusing me falsely. The market women that have already gathered also started causing the lady, telling her that she wanted to cause the death of an innocent young man! The officer just told me to make sure i thank God enough because i would have just been lynched to death . i was too dumbfounded to even utter any word. I just looked up and said thank you Jesus and walked away. I felt like calling for her arrest there and pressing for charges bothering on false accusation, but the fact that i just escaped death didn't even make me talk.
LESSON LEARNT 1. Always say your prayers before leaving the house. You might know where you are driving to, but you don't know who is driving towards you. 2. Please my fellow nairalanders, always DRESS PROPERLY. My mode of dressing probably gave me some respect. If i was sagging or carrying one dirty hair style, anything could have happened before you say Lalastic.... 3. Don't move around with too much cash.
Thank you and God bless. I know Benin quite well so I can identify with all you've written. I also feel the fact you fearlessly called the attention of the civil defense guy also worked in your favour. A clear conscience fears no wrong. A thief will not asked to be searched neither will he ask for an officer to search him. Your head dey house. I also feel you were too gentle, if na me, hand must reach that woman. |
Romance › Re: She Slept With My Best Buddy And Expects Me To End Friendship With Him. by stonecoldcafe: 4:26am On Jan 14, 2016 |
petkruz: Some friends or would I say acquaintances are quite shameless. I threw a birthday party @sailors lekki and had prominent friends in attendance including my best friend who didn't hesitate to spend lavishly as he kept ordering drinks and food. I noticed this friend of mine was exceptionally quiet all through, probably observing the whole thing.Next thing I knew she was glued to my buddy, dancing, laughing and all that.I was totally ok with it because everybody was having fun, they exchanged numbers and everybody left happily.I warned her to be careful as he wasn't single!
2 weeks later this lady started insulting the guy, saying all sorts about him,if we are hanging out and he shows up she leaves angrily, this continued for about 4months. I got to find out she went to his mansion several times, they went to all the expensive restaurants in lekki and in 2weeks the guy hit the cookie
The annoying thing now is she wants me to stop being friends with him, someone i'v known since Adam, his fiancee is my friend,he has helped me in so many ways, I can't stop talking to him because of some careless act.
My so-called friend has stopped talking to me,she doesn't hang out anymore, she doesn't call and all but biko is it my fault? Is it a crime I refused to support either of them? We all are adults and solely responsible for our decisions. Should I call both for a hangout to settle the issue? Or ignore completely Some girls are childish. I had a friend who acted in the same way after she'd broken up with a mutual friend. she wanted all of us (including her siblings) to bone the guy. She went as far as asking all her siblings to delete the guy from their friends list on Facebook. I couldn't at that time. She unfriended me from Facebook and blocked me all round cos i was still chatting with the said guy. Unfortunately my relationship with the guy took a nose dive too. So today, I aint friends with either of them. Things kpekus can cause ehn? |

tomyka81: That isn't me. That is from the website. I want to order it so it will arrive in time but I am not sure how strict the attire is. Does the dress absolutely have to be red? What about the beading? All those questions. Will the white and gold look good with the coral beads? Etc. I want him to be wowed away but still honor his culture. That is an idea of how you should look. You cannot achieve it on your own. Ask your husband or his sisters/female cousins (if they live there too) to introduce you to people that can help. You can find more inspiration on the Bella Naija page below: http://www.bellanaija.com/2013/10/bn-bridal-beauty-edo-brides-in-beautiful-beaded-benin-wedding-attire/Don't sweat it if you cant get the complete attire like the beaded headgear or a red wrapper. Being married to the special man is all that counts at the end of the day. Congrats if you have already done your marriage. Perhaps the page can still give you more ideas for future events. Oba ato kpeye ese!! (ask your husband or fiance what that means)

LaurelP: Two young ladies arrived a Meeting wearing clothes that were quite revealing their body parts. Here is what the Chairman told them: He took a good look at them and made them sit. Then he said something that, they might never forget in their life. He looked at them straight in the eyes and said; "ladies, everything that God made valuable in this world is well covered and hardly to see, find or get.
1. Where do you find diamonds? Deep down in the ground, covered and protected. 2. Where do you find pearls? Deep down at the bottom of the ocean, covered up and protected in a beautiful shell. 3. Where do you find gold? Way down in the mine, covered over with layers of rock and to get them, you have to work hard & dig deep down to get them. He looked at them with serious eyes and said;"Your body is sacred & unique" You are far more precious than gold, diamonds and pearls, and you should be covered too."So he added that, if you keep your treasured mineral just like gold, diamond and pearls, deeply covered up, a reputable mining organization with the requisite machinery will fly down and conduct years of extensive exploration.
First, they will contact your government (family), sign professional contracts (wedding) and mine you professionally(legal marriage).
But if you leave your precious minerals uncovered on the surface of the earth, you always attract a lot of illegal miners to come and mine you illegally. Everybody will just pick up their crude instruments and just have a dig on you just freely like that.
Keep your bodies deeply covered so that it invite professional miners to chase you.
Let us all encourage our wives, friends and daughters to dress well and decent! True that. I saw a lady in church yesterday...smh. Shocked was an understatement. |

Obudupikin: Dear OP you made two mistakes;
The first was, through your actions, you showed the girl that you love her a lot even before she got used to you. Therefore, she took advantage of that.
Secondly, that mssg you sent her was a wrong move because it only made her indignant and more defensive. It's obvious the girl has lot of admirers and she saw you as one of them. Therefore, what your mssg implied to her was that you saw yourself as something other than that.
But the damage had been done,here is what you should do;
1) Send her an apology text without explicitly seeming sorry. E.g,"although your attitude was childish,I shldnt have sent such mssg to you. For that,I apologise"
2)Ignore her. Don't communicate with her again until you see her face to face.
These two moves have their purposes but I can't start explaining here.
If you really LOVE(emphasis on love) the girl,I'd like to help you get her. We can do PM's.
Note; No girl is above you. You just need to know her thumbscrew.
Thank You. Bad adviser. Love should be reciprocal; such a girl has no regards for op and what he needs to do is MOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ON swiftly. |

Intrepid01: Guy you have to wise up..........I met a lady around August last year in a bus, my car had an issue and had to follow bus. I was not even in the mood to chat, she started it all, admired my shirt and all that stuff. We got talking from there and she seemed nice & friendly. That was how all the rubbish started.........I asked to take her out, she agreed and said she preferred Ozone center. We went to ozone center, she insisted on eating before the movie ( note, I went to pick her from her house and she's been at home since morning). To my surprise, she did not eat the chicken on the rice and opted to take it home (mogbe!!).... She started behaving stupidly after that day...asking if I could drive her to her colleagues birthday at Oniru, I stylishly turned her down. The following week my fone's screen got damaged and I couldn't call or access my contact. This babe did not call me once for two weeks thruout the period my fone was bad.
I did not waste my time, I got the message CLEARLY and moved on. I saw her afterward and acted like have never seen her before. I could see the surprise on her face. Before you turn me to maga I will dump you bin.
It is so sad that Ladies have turned to be something else, even the working class ones.
I just dumped another one last week when I realized all she wanted was money and food whenever she comes around. This one stays with her parent but even if she's leaving my house at 10 pm she expects me to take her out and buy something for her. They are just gluttons.
My advice to you is this...never should you profess love or intention to date to any babe until you've been friends for sometime. Just stay as friends for a while, assess her and confirm if she likes you too before making your intention known You are a wise man. |

At about 4:30pm yesterday I left my house at akobo Ibadan and I decided to take the railway track to Ojuirin Akobo, on my way I had my iPhone 6 in my hand and my original iPhone head phone blasting Olohun o je by Pasuma and Qdot. I was lost in the music that I didn't notice my environment. A carriage train was coming with high speed behind me, something just told me to observe my environment when I did I saw everyone looking at my direction, shouting, making hand signs but I couldn't hear anything but I understand the hand signs, they were telling me to get out of the track, 2 girls at the age of 7-9 ran towards me and they are making the hand sign immediately I grabbed them I took off my headphone, to my surprise the train is NEAR. It keeps the high tone horn blasting... After 5 seconds(without exaggeration) of me getting off the track the train passed by me with high speed about 80km per hr... My heart dropped from my chest to my feet and the only thing that came to my mind was my 6 month old daughter...
Thanks to God after all Olohun o je My daughter is not a fatherless child My wife is not a widow
Please lalasticlala help push this to front page, it might save someone else life you never know...

Oyind17: I went to my elder brother's house for a visit and I lost my peace due to what I saw there. I didn't call him on phone before going, I knocked and their first son opened the gate for me, when I entered they were eating. Normally the woman was supposed to dish food if they needed more but to my greatest surprise she asked him to dish more, like an obedient servant he went to the kitchen to get more.
About 30 minutes later her younger sister arrived and the wife started sending him all manner of errands, she started with bring yam for Mercy( the name of the girl), he brought the yam and she sent him again to tie the yams together for the girl, I was pissed cos I couldn't believe my brother was doing that.
She later send him to their shop to bring some stuffs for the girl, I left immediately cos I couldn't bear it any longer. The girl is above 20
would you accept such from their wives and to the wives would you treat your husbands as errand boys. My mother once told us a story. A mother in law visited her son and the young wife. She noticed how the young man did so much for his wife. She was of the opinion (as in your own case) that the woman was using her son. When she returned home, she complained bitterly to her priest and told him she felt her son was under a spell. Some weeks later, she visited her daughter. On that visit, she noticed how her son in law was very helpful and attentive around the house. She was happy to observe her daughter was not stressed and when she got home, she went to see her priest. She praised her son in law and remarked what a peaceful home her daughter was enjoying. Then the priest asked her if the boy’s (her son in law) mother would say the same thing. He reminded her how she felt her son was suffering but this same woman is happy because another woman’s son is doing the same thing for her daughter. MORAL OF THE STORY: MYDB AKA MIND YOUR DAMN BUSINESS. |

Assslayer: I'm beginning to get more curious and furious about this , it has been going on for about four years now and people are not seeing anything wrong about it or i say his members are brainwashed to the highest order not to see anything wrong in this. Someone should please call this Christ Embassy church to order, every year they charge people coming to worship with them on the 31st night the sum 1000 naira as a gate fee. In the previous years they sell tickets before the show sorry i mean service, so all who wants to attend the 31st night service must come with their tickets to enter the church auditorium .
But this year they decided to craft another means of collecting this 1000 naira, they made it compulsory for each attendees to purchase an electronic gate pass for 1000naira. My question is , are they going to dance to the melody of a superstar singer or dance to sound of a superstar DJ ? Even the huge yearly program The Experience is free, someone should please call this Loveworld ministry aka Christ Embassy to order, reaping ripping off our gullible citizens.
