Same thing I did when travelling. Entered Edegbe to Benin and then faith motors to Onitsha. Mehn it's God oo. Same road u pass unscathed others may probably have an accident. I couldn't stop thinking God for journey mercies.
True, true. On that same Ore road just before christmas, there was a section where it was accident galore! I saw a bus in a ditch with a girl waving her hands in praise. I think that was very close to Okada to be precise.

Sometimes you will wonder whether nor be the same road? Its just by God's mercies. On my own part, I try to follow the lines that have proven track record. May God see us through.

CrimeRe: Amun-Nnadi Apologises To Lady Over Kissing Without Consent by stonecoldcafe: 3:45pm On Jan 20, 2016
I have followed this story with rapt interest even going to the poet and Miracle's FB page. I feel bad for this man but worse for his victims.

This poet was/is someone held in very high esteem in the literary world. And some of these young girls (he assaulted sexually by forcefully kissing) were people who looked up to him as per mentor/teacher/father.

It seems he is a randy fellow who enjoys preying on the young, vulnerable female students who looked up to him. This case reminds me o the COZA pastor. When a man/woman wields a powerful position in ones life, and they try or take advantage of you, you are shocked, stunned and left confused. You are afraid to speak cos people would insult/not believe you or ask why you are trying to bring a grown man down.

Like Ese Walter, Miracle Adebayo should be commended for speaking out even if it took her more than a year. People insulted her and called her names on her FB page but the poet's apology vindicated the young lady.

We need more people like Miracle in Nigeria. We need more contrite fellows like the poet who will admit their wrong. We also need an active judiciary/police to prosecute such men! Oh yes! Did I hear you say for 'common' kiss? Okay go and try that in the United States of America then come back and tell me its still 'common' kiss.

Godbless the little kiddo & her mum for making her happy.

RomanceRe: Outrage As Primary Four Girl Aged 8 Is Married In Zaria by stonecoldcafe: 8:03am On Jan 19, 2016
lordcornel:
Although millions of eight-year-old girls in Nigeria are presently playing or disturbing their mothers for more noodles, there is one particular eight-year-old girl who is now a married woman. I have confirmed that two days ago, a marriage ceremony was conducted between a rather curious couple: the bride is eight years of age and she is in primary four (we are presently still getting more information on the groom but initial reports say he is aged 14 and is in SS1). They are of the Baba Ahmed family in Zaria and this is reportedly not the first of such marriages they have conducted. Sources told that although the marriage has indeed been formalized between the two ‘lovers’, there will be no sexual intercourse until at least they finish their secondary school education. It is unclear if there will be other marital duties such as cooking, living together or going for romantic time outings.  We are still getting more updates on the story and will be updating as we get them.

The marriage has raised a lot of controversy among Nigerians. Some are totally outraged at the concept of wedding between minors and even say it is unconstitutional as the ‘bride’ is not of age and she did not give her consent while others say there is nothing wrong with it. In the meantime, see exclusive photos from the ceremony below:
Very very sad
RomanceRe: She Visited And Now Very Sick, How Do I Send Her Back? I Need Advice Urgently by stonecoldcafe: 10:38am On Jan 18, 2016
purest21:
I met this girl on badoo and we got talking. Barely two weeks we knew she offered to come to my place at awka from asaba. Which straight guy would turn down such offer? I was amazed as she did not even request for t-fare and I wondered if really such type of girls still existed in Nigeria.
She got to awka the next day and I've already arrange some cash that would buy us some nice time not knowing that what I called 'cash' wouldn't be able to settle up to 20% of the liability that was impending.

As this girl stepped into my house, the next morning she got heavily sick! Oblivious of the gravity of the sickness, we went to the medicine store on my street and the guy mixed drugs for her. After three days, this girl started showing symptoms that she's about to die, the same symptoms I saw on my grandmom before she died. With that fear I rushed her to the hospital and the doctor prescribed a list of heavy heavy drugs that I must buy in their hospital. Due to inadequacy of cash because the so called cash I reserved for flexings has almost exhausted, I had to buy only one out of the four listed drugs.
And that was when this dying girl started making me to feel she planned the whole thing. That maybe she knew she was going to fall sick and then needed a medical maga. She would not appreciate my kindness so far, instead she would be busy utilizing any given opportunity to complain, diss or attack me.

To cut it all short, I've already spent close to 10k on this ungrateful sickler and still spending. And sure thing is either this girl dies in my house or I'll be going bankrupt if she doesn't go back to asaba soonest.
As I'm typing this, she's here lying next to me and not even thinking of going back to her place. Please I need advice on how to send her back because I've reasoned it will actually take some balls to just wake her up and eject her indiscriminately, I don't even know if she can travel back on her own. I dont think this kind of ill-luck should be starting somebody's year!! Advice please
LOLZ @ Medical Maga! hahaha!
FamilyRe: Why I Don't Want My Brother To Get Married To Her by stonecoldcafe: 9:18am On Jan 18, 2016
SSpeter:
I know this might not be totally right but at least it will make me feel great. Egbon wants to get married in march and automatically I will become the best Man. But I don't want him to get married to her. It is not because of her but the dad.

It all started back in 1998 my dad was having a court case with our supposed in-law over our house. The house was sold to my dad by the late late brother of our supposed in-law. That was even before my dad got married. We have lived in that house for more than 10yrs. My siblings and I were born there. After the death of the brother in 1998 he dragged my dad to court saying his brother was only a benefactor and does not have the legal right to sell the building and their late father made him the executor of His properties according to the late father's will. My parents were partners in business and their office was located at the ground floor of the building where we lived. Their goods were also stored there (plumbing equipment).

Prior to joining the plumbing business, my dad was into commercial inter-state transport services after suffering heavy losses he auctioned what was left and joined my mum in the plumbing business. A year later he was in court with our supposed in-law. The legal battle started in December. Egbon travelled with an aunt of mine who had won a visa lottery the previous year. My sisters were older than the guys. they were already in boarding school. I was the king of the house. My dad suffered many embarrassment at the hands of our supposed in-law. He dragged the case for some years money meant for business ended up in legal battles. My dad had to borrow to pay suppliers. He couldn't not order for new materials anymore and the business eventually collapsed. Extended families gave their support until 2003 when a lagos high court handed our supposed in-law victory undecided

My dad wanted to appeal the judgement but his lawyer told him to get an apartment with whatever he has left. Although my parents thought they hid everything from us. Perhaps my sisters didn't notice because they were not always home but I saw my mum cry severally. I saw the fears in my dad eyes. I listened to their whispering at night I knew we were doomed. Our supposed In-law sold the house to a bank. The bank gave two weeks to evacuate. But before the notice expired they brought sledge hammer and started destroying the building with our properties in it. My dad tried to protest but he was beaten and arrested. For the first time I saw our "Supposed In-law" that day ordering the boys to destroy everything. My dad was later released days after. I went to live with my cousins. My sisters also went to live with my other cousins.

In 2006 I wrote a mail to Egbon I narrated all that happened to him and he vowed he was going to ensure that they payed for it dearly. Few years later, I got admission into the university my parents embraced christ; But I still feel bitter. How time flies, my sisters are both married and it's just me preparing for the life of a bachelor; Until recently my brother told me his plans of getting married, I noticed it because he has visited us more than usual last year and had extensive discussions with my parents. But whenever He came back He still promised my dad that he will never forget all that happened. My dad told him that was in the past but I know what my brother was capable of doing as regards family.

He brought his supposed girl friend (I believe that is all she will ever be) to the house last christmas everyone welcomed her but immediately I set my eyes on her, she looked like the man that was giving orders to tear down our house. I asked her for her surname, when she said ****US, I knew she was the daughter of our long time enemy. When they left, my mum and dad begged me that I shouldn't say anything. That they have forgiven him. She invited my parents and I during the new year but I declined. I have also told my brother I can't be his best man. He thought am joking cos it was via mail. My brother had assured me severally whenever I told him what became of us after then that incident and he told me "I will give up anything to deal with the Man that messed with my family". I guess I will have to tell him the whole truth. But my parents keep calling me every single day to beg. "Saying I should not bring him misery. That they were happy he decided to bring home a cool headed lady".....But I just can't let it go. Unless my brother and I will decide not to be brothers anymore because I will never go to his house if he marries her. I will never associate myself with him or anything that has to do with him.

I have finished typing the truth I want to send the mail to him...I don't know why I am hesitating (I guess my parents will forgive me sooner or later) but he has to know the truth!!!!....i can't dine with my enemy!.....I don't want to see her dad face again....never...I hope am doing the right thing....i think I am.....perhaps I am...
I understand how you feel and i dont have the answers you seek. It is a tough one. I feel for your family and the girls family.

Now before i say much, remember that this girl didn't do anything to your family. She had no hand in it just as you personally didn't covert her parents property. It is between your supposed inlaw, your parents and whoever sold the house to them.

Now let's look at it in another way. What if this your supposed in law is right? Put yourself in his shoes. If you were the one who was left to dispose to your father's property and a rogue brother sold it to a nice family, would you agree. Yes, take a minute and think. Remove your parents from the equation and all they suffered. If indeed your supposed inlaw was right, he HAD EVERY RIGHT TO FIGHT FOR THAT PROPERTY RIGHT till the very end. And don't forget the court agreed with him. Your parents lawyer also saw sense in it (after chopping their money as per his legal fees) and advised your parents to allow sleeping dogs lie. WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU? Perhaps your so called inlaw was right afterall!

Now when i began this advice, i was confused but now i'm done, i think i will tow your parents path as well. Allow your egbon brother be. Leave the lovers alone. You may even be shocked your brother knows about it. Perhaps the girl has put two and two together and has told your brother all he needs to know. The history between your family runs too deep for everyone to be playing ignorance. surnames have been mentioned and i believe your parents have met with the girls parents. They all know themselves and i assume the girl's parents must have told her certain things too. If they don't, a nosey relation must have told her and the girl would have told your brother in turn. Love does funny things to people. Your brother that has sworn to fight for your family will grow soft once he learns its wife to be family that caused the heartache for your parents. Yes, that's what love can do. It turns man to mumu.

Don't make everlasting enemy with your blood brother. You will miss out on alot. If your parents who were most hurt can forgive, WHO ARE YOU to hold it against them. Let it be and let God have his way. Just go on your knees and pray. If it is God's will, let the marriage happen but if its not, let it scatter.

Dont play God in anyone's affair. Leave the young lovers alone. God bless you bro.
CareerRe: Am About To Resign Because Of My Boss Wickedness, harrassments And Embarassments! by stonecoldcafe: 9:01am On Jan 18, 2016
angryhumanbeing:
Good Day pals, please pardon all grammatical errors because I am very angry now as I write this.
I am a known person here but I decided to change my name.

I am a banker. I was working in bank X before i joined bank Y. I had wonderful experiences in bank X. I decided to join bank Y so as to have experience there too. But ever since I joined bank Y, it has been disaster working there from the very first day I entered there. The manager has been tormenting me from the very first day he sighted me. I dont know if we have struggled for a babe b4, i just dnt knw. I am a permanent staff but this man treats me like a cleaner. The time for us to be in the office is latest 7.20am but in my first week there, i came to work by 7.17am and this man was shoutn and embarrasing me outside the bank where customers queues up to withdraw from the atm. Dat was my first bitter encounter wit him. I was brought to the branch as Funds Transfer Officer but it took this manager a full month to create me as FTO. On my Third day on the job, He connived with another bad colleague and they pushed me to the atm as ATM Custodian. This I was doing with tears because this man was just making life unbearable for me by threatening me all the time. All the jobs in the branch was given to me to do except FTO jobs. He refused creatn me and even wen i was later created, he still refuse i work as FTO. Theres sometn called cashdrop box, and its meant for contract staff to work there but this man forced me to work there for even upto a month combined with atm custodian and other cash jobs while the other bad colleague walks around pressing fones and chattn. Later in November, the Area Manager visited and said i should be returned as FTO. Ever since then, this manager will pack other peoples job on me and be embarassing me in front of customers when I dnt finish them. Whenever I tried to complain, he will start shoutn and insultn me in front of customers. This has been happening for upto 5months now. I joined this particular bank in late August and by middle of september, 6 staff angrily left the branch because of this manager and his accomplices. By tomoro, another staff is leavn becos of constant quarell wit manager. The branch has been under wicked rule by this manager and the other bad colleague. For the past 5months I have been here, its been hell. I have reduced drastically in size. Even size 30 trousers are very loose on waist now becos of so much thinkn, insults and harrasments from this man.
I have planned to resign at the end of the month becos of the evil torture of this man and the other bad colleague. Please I need matured advices becos i am almost like a walking corpse. Each week i feel sick here. One sickness or the other.
Any day i remember i will go to dat office, my mind will be filled with sadness becos theres no single day this same man will nt harrass me.

Pls mods help me. I need advices and i have made up my mind to leavn here becos each day i see this man and the other bad man, i feel like shooting them to death becos as i speak nw, the other bad man does nothn in the branch. He only snaps pics, chat and walk around. He comes to work by 7.45am and the manager will nt say a word!

Pls mods help me do the needful. Thank you.
Do you know how to pray? Like do you really know how to pray and fire someone's head with mad prayers? Do it for this guy and he will be confused. He would even apologise to you. Oti tan
RomanceRe: My Neighbour Doesnt Want To Date Anyone Because Of Me! by stonecoldcafe: 2:37pm On Jan 17, 2016
petkruz:
Well this whole drama started 2yrs ago when we both moved into this new beautiful house.Initially his girlfriend comes from portharcourt to spend a month, she was always around. I never visited them,we just greeted from afar maybe weekends when they finally see my face due to my Job. Before I forget,i was still single and minding my business.

After some months I noticed his girlfriend wasn't coming around, even when she did they quarrelled through out her stay! Then again it wasn't my business. After sometime she collected my number and said she would like to discuss somethings with me. 2days later she called.

To cut the long story short she told me that my neighbour has decided to end the relationship because she's too fat and didn't have a job. I was confused because these 2 were so much inlove few months ago. I now noticed he was coming close to me! We normally contribute money for our prepaid, security man and maintenance guy,he stopped collecting money from me! When I asked he said he has paid, when I give him my share of the money, he rejects it.

Now my boyfriend comes weekends,he doesn't greet him, even when my bf hails him, he answers reluctantly! He then puts off all his electronics hoping to hear moanings and ends up disappointed. If I pack my bag for the weekend,he jumps out of his flat to stylishly ask if i'm going to the mainland or my aunty's house in Oniru. I usually give him same reply "i'm going to Aguda to see my bobo" He then offers to drop me off at the bus stop which I always turn down.

I'v never seen him with any lady, neither has any lady come to the house to visit,he's always alone.Even when I encourage him to start dating again,he usually says Slim, hardworking independent ladies are hard to find. My rent expires December dis year, what do you all think I should do to make this man look somewhere else because he's only wasting his time hoping that one day i'd look his direction.

PS: He's 13years older than me(got that info from his Ex) we live in separate flats and have a lot of boundaries! He has never visited me neither have I entered his house. Matured comments please!!!
Unfortunately, I think you are starting to imagine things that don't exist. The boy is not into you and who told you he is not seeing anyone else?

I'm more worried about you. 2 years you've been there so I take it that you have been living there for so long.

Next, your rent expires in December and you've been dating your boo at Aguda? Listen, dude is wasting your time. If he does not propose by Sep/Oct, move onNNnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

This is a true life personal experience and a great testimony.

If not for the grace of God, i don't know where i would have been by now, maybe heaven or hell grin

On this very day, i went to the Immigration office at Ramat park area, Ikpoba Hill Benin to pick up my passport. The thought of travelling out of the country for the first time was overwhelming. A colleague of mine before i left to pick up the passport gave me 13k to help him pay into the bank.

Because of the enthusiasm within me, i wanted to collect the passport first, then pay the money into the bank on my way back. To show that God is in deed meciful and my mama prayer no dey go in vein grin a spirit just told me why not pay in the money first since you will pass through the bank. My brothers and sisters, i heeded to my instinct, and that saved my life as you will soon find out.

Getting to the Immigration with all the stress and waiting, i finally got my passport o and i was ecstatic! Na first time na grin. On my way back, i boarded a bus to ring road. i couldnt take my hands off the the passport as i was looking at it left, right and centre. I observed that a more advanced lady sitting close to me was just looking at the passport i was holding and smiling. For my mind i say watin dey worry this one, huh, she never see who hold passport before? cool

Immediately i alighted from the bus, and was walking to board another one, i heard someone calling Bros! Bros! Bros!. i turned and the lady came to me and said ''Bros, na u sitdown near me just now, my 13k dey miss from my pocket'' Mogbe, for ring road of all places embarassed. i just calmly asked her, did you see me branch anywhere else, she said no, and i told her i'm ready to be searched and i don't have your money. At this time, people were already gathering ooo and she was beginning to raise her voice! cry see embarrasment of the century! I was still pleading my innocence when i saw a Civil Defence Officer and i beckoned on him to please come to my aid.

The man called us and was asking us what the problem is all about. I explained all i knew and the lady did same, insisting i took her money from her pocket cry, See a whole me with a good job, sad just because i take public transport!

The security guy then asked the lady, ''you sure say this well dressed young boy take your money?'' she said yes! just then, the agberos around were already waiting to pounce on me! probably to burn me alive. my mind quickly went to Allu 4 at Uniport cry. Then the security man told the lady that if she should search me, and they don't find the money, she will be seriously dealt with and if its found on me, i will go in for it! What if i didn't pay in that 13k? would they have allowed me to explain anything?

Just then, the lady started sturtering that it should not be like that, blah blah blah. The officer became angry with her that she just put my life on the line by accusing me falsely. The market women that have already gathered also started causing the lady, telling her that she wanted to cause the death of an innocent young man! The officer just told me to make sure i thank God enough because i would have just been lynched to death embarassed. i was too dumbfounded to even utter any word. I just looked up and said thank you Jesus and walked away. I felt like calling for her arrest there and pressing for charges bothering on false accusation, but the fact that i just escaped death didn't even make me talk.

LESSON LEARNT
1. Always say your prayers before leaving the house. You might know where you are driving to, but you don't know who is driving towards you.
2. Please my fellow nairalanders, always DRESS PROPERLY. My mode of dressing probably gave me some respect. If i was sagging or carrying one dirty hair style, anything could have happened before you say Lalastic....
3. Don't move around with too much cash.

Thank you and God bless.
I know Benin quite well so I can identify with all you've written. I also feel the fact you fearlessly called the attention of the civil defense guy also worked in your favour. A clear conscience fears no wrong. A thief will not asked to be searched neither will he ask for an officer to search him. Your head dey house.

I also feel you were too gentle, if na me, hand must reach that woman.
