shrekandfiona:Hmmmm. Hopefully I don't kobalize myself ![]() So, unfortunately (or fortunately) at the time of her application I didn't read the excerpts from the link mamar*n posted so I was unaware of the US state prevalent minimum wage clause. Hence I didn't include it in our employment contract. Before she went in for the interview, I told her if her passport was returned to her it means she wasn't given the visa. So when she came out of the embassy with her passport in hand she was crying profusely cos we both thought she was refused until I read the 221G form requesting her employment contract. I'm sure if I was aware of the clause and I told her she wasn't going with us anymore cos of that, she would have definitely chosen the experience over the money. She had only been with me for 6months and was still excited about being in Lagos for the first time so going to America was a big deal to her. |
anunimorigba:Hmmmmm this is dicey. But I'd say give her all documents that you think would help her get the visa. Your visa page and her employment contract being the most important. Since you got the visa prior to getting pregnant, if I were you I'd use this opportunity to set things right. Use your cover letter to explain this and include your doctors correspondence, payment receipts, accommodation arrangements etc. For good measure, include your scan results showing LMP and due date so they know you got pregnant after your visa issuance. ...This is my own opinion but others might have differing ideas. anunimorigba:@bolded, are you actually going to pay minimum rate (you should check minimum wage first o, that 35k might be a days wage.) or just including that in your contract? I don't think there's any need to misrepresent... |
anunimorigba:I wasn't travelling for childbirth but for a training. Feel free to add any doc you want but the important ones are the employment contract and your visa page |
anunimorigba:Hi. My nanny got her visa last year. She was 19 (looks a lot older) and also has issues with English although she isn't timid. I filled her form and signed myself ( at the end where they ask if the applicant filled the form by him/herself. I told her to request for a translator of her local dialect (Ibibio) when she gets into the embassy but she said she was still at the document check place when someone asked her language and scribbled it on her document.. So she automatically got an interpreter when she got to the VO. I only gave her a copy of my visa page/ son's data page when she went in and she was placed on administrative processing and I was asked to bring her employment contract. So I drafted a cover letter stating how long she had been with me(6months), a testament of her character and that I'd be taking care of all expenses and also her employment contract showing her working hours and wages. So she would need to request for an interpreter, give her your visa page, a cover letter and her employment contract. |
@saylawchar each visa applicant needs a DS-160 form. |
Newmum0615:You would be surprised (or not) to hear that the most racism against Nigerians are from fellow Nigerians/Africans. |
steph0627:Have you filled the DS-160 form? |
Please ooo has anyone been able to successfully process a transcript from UI (undergraduate) in the last 2weeks? |
Emmasonic4me:Hubby did his speaking test on 30th Dec, others on 6th Jan. I did mine on 2nd Jan and 6th Jan and both our TRFs start with 17. |
seyewest:His case is different. He doesn't want to birth in the US because he cannot afford to. The instance you gave is in reverse..they are not pregnant yet but plan to and can afford to. |
Gemcn If you are absolutely sure you do not intend to give birth in the US, then one way to go about it is declaring your pregnancy at the interview and insisting you do not plan to give birth...for good measure you can tell the VO to make a note on the transcript saying you voluntarily declared your pregnancy but do not wish to birth with the visa. Another option is planning the vacation for after your baby arrives. |
OmoluabiBigsam:Did you get the visa from the las Vegas conference application? Is there an annotation on the visa? |
jamie1994: ![]() I'm sorry I have to laugh first. You have sex without protection and you never expected pregnancy? I guess you were expecting a Mikano generator then ![]() I'd talk to you like I would a younger brother. Answer these questions first. 1. When did you have s3x? Exact date 2. How did she know she's 5weeks gone? Did she do a scan? Did you see the scan result? |
@talltosyne My dh too dey do like NEPA. He definitely doesn't want to relocate so we are doing this 'just in case naija scatters' ![]() Ayomide is fine, how's Josh? |
Mcstan18 better luck with your next. My score: L: 8 R: 8 W: 7 S: 7.5 My headset stopped working right in the middle of my listening test and I din't notice until I saw people turning their pages. I had to smack it to get it working again but I had obviously missed some secs..so I was expecting a 7ish. Reading...I was expecting a 9.... ![]() Writing.. I got what I expected.. I ran out of time hence dint conclude my essay. Speaking..I babbled quite a lot. |
talltosyne:Teamie you are here too? Thanks |
ImaIma1:Well, he said the women he knows got fat after pregnancy...... |
flosk:Oh I see. Thanks. It means I passed too |
I'm officially confused ![]() How is mcstan18's result not a fantastic one? What's the minimum score (or recommended score) for express entry? @Glitteringstar |
technicallyrich:Then let her not get pregnant. You should be content with just living with her slim figure and no children the rest of your lives. |
msylva2147:I can assure you that her actions stem from her insecurities. 6years of childlessness, with unsupportive in-laws and from a man whose words show that he solely blames her for the childlessness would make even a right thinking woman behave irrationally. She did not build the house in the first year of marriage and the op even bragged about sleeping with his new wife the next day, I'm sure he didn't marry her in one day so the signs were there. |
Adamrealman78:You sounded learned in your other posts until now. Ever heard of IVF? In fact a simple myomectomy would have solved all the issues cos the tubal blockage might be as a result of the fiborids. You can proudly post those cos its her challenges, if it were your swimmers that were weak or nonexistent she would have stuck by you. Anyways, goodluck to all 3 of you. |
I suspected the last paragraph would come up. Good thing they suspended his license |
Hi Akorkor. We stopped wearing socks when he started learning to walk (with assistance) at about 7 or 8 months. He runs around the house bare foot. I don't know if there's a correlation between socks and ear infection tho, did the doctor say that? |

Discuss your concern with the pead neurologist..... But be patient with him. |
Hi ambient. Have you seen a pediatrician yet? I think you should. |
MamaOO:Twins? Madam calm down ![]() Hopefully he changes for the better... |
Zeezlamega. Congrats on your admission and all the best in your studies. |
Zinny25:Interesting question. First you need to meet a pilot, start a relationship, get engaged then marry. |
You are most welcome lee310. |
Lee310 your points are noted. But do know that just as you have chosen to look the other way when you see an intending illegal immigrant, others have also chosen to do more than just 'praying' by discouraging the collective misrepresentation of Nigeria by these individuals.... Every Nigerian is an Ambassador of this country, so his actions or inactions affects his fellow citizens. So those on here who discourage this acts of misrepresentation shouldn't be labeled 'racists' I implore you to not totally write Nigeria off, you are under 30 and the future of this Country. You would be amazed at how much change you can imbibe in people if you live a model lifestyle and encourage people around you to do same. These other countries appear to function better just because of its people. Zambia has nothing compared to Nigeria yet you are astonished at what they have achieved.... My guess is, they simply did not pray for things to happen, they got things done themselves. Choose today the future you want for yourself and kids..... BTW, misuse of visa isn't a sin, its only a crime. Unless there's an 11th commandment "thou shalt not misuse thy Visa" ![]() Let me also add that I'm not against people seeking greener pastures o. Just do it the right way and you would even enjoy your stay and not living In constant fear of police. They can apply for residency to thier choice countries |
