Prince Iheme, brother of actor Osita Iheme, popularly known as Paw Paw, and a policeman have been killed gunmen enforcing sit-at-home order in Imo State.
It was gathered that the gunmen attacked the convoy of the All Progressives Congress candidate for Mbaitoli/ Ikeduru Federal Constituency, Akarachi Amadi at Ubommiri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State on Friday.
While Prince Iheme was killed on the spot, the state commissioner for Solid Minerals, Martin Eke, was attacked cut with a machete.

“Prince Iheme was riding in the same vehicle with the commissioner for solid minerals. Prince Iheme who is Pawpaw’s elder brother was killed on the spot. The commissioner who was sworn in two weeks ago was cut badly. He has just been rushed to a hospital. They were driving in a Ford SUV. I pray he makes it,” a source said.
Orji community was also attacked by the gunmen wearing black clothes in three vehicles, assaulting residents and passersby, including policemen.

An eyewitnesses told Punch that the gunmen met some policemen at the 7Up junction at Orji and shot one of them.

Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to save its members from attacks, in the run-up to the 2023 general elections. The PCC Director of Strategic Communications, Dele Momodu, made the appeal at a press briefing on Friday in Abuja. He said the APC contested the 2015 presidential without being attacked or harassed by the PDP, which was the ruling party then.

Momodu, who recalled that the opposition party’s campaigns have been attacked in several places, noted that the PDP was not allowed to mount its billboards or use public broadcast stations in APC controlled states..



“So, I wish to appeal through you to the federal government, since they control the APC, that this is not what democracy is all about. I was one of those who fought and suffered for this democracy. We never envisaged that in the civilian regime, we are going to have this kind of harassment, whereby we cannot practice democracy as it should be done.

“In 2014 2015, I was one of those who supported Buhari, and there was never a time that PDP disturbed us, because if they had disturbed us, may be there would have been no Buhari. So, we are hoping that Mr President would help us speak to the security agencies, to protect the lives of our people, to protect our property wherever they are on the soil of Nigeria, because we are all Nigerians.”

The party has also berated the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, over his comments urging his supporters to grab power and run in the 2023 polls. The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, while speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, on Friday, said Tinubu’s charge to his supporters, after his appearance at the Chatham House, was tantamount to inciting violence ahead of the 2023 polls.


Ologunagba recalled that in 2015, those who did not vote for the APC would drown in the Lagoon. He noted that the threat was taken a notch higher in the 2019 polls.

I have an issue at hand, I'm in a serious relationship with a lady, in fact I intend marrying her, she spends her weekend with me, during her working days I check on her at her place of work and she's always there, she's so committed.


Just this Monday! A friend of mine said he saw her come to the shopping mall with a guy and the way they where on each other he's suspecting she's dating the guy, I just waved it off because I still went to her office that day and I saw her myself and that there's no way she could be the one, he felt embarrassed, so I told him anytime he sees them together again he should snap them and call me if I'm around that area I'll come see for my self.

After I got the info I never changed towards he and neither did I ask her about it, she even allowed me check her phone, I read through her msg, watttapp, Twitter, fb and others! guys I no see anything!!!

so I had that confidence that she ain't cheating on me, I mean she would have left a trace for me to know, she acts normal, she never changed towards me.

This time I intensified my checking on her and calls her regularly and when ever she didn't pick up she'll call me back apologizing.

Her movements and phones are crystal clean! I know my friend cannot lie to me cos he recognises her even in the dark! I'm hot on the inside knowing she's doing something behind me and I can't even trace anything. Before confronting her on anything I need to be sure she's really cheating....

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock over the reported kidnapping of five newborn babies in Anambra State and directed that the rising crime rate in the areas be addressed without further delay.

The reported kidnapping occurred at Stanley Hospital, Nkpologwu in the state. The attackers picked the babies and zoomed off.

He said this in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Friday.

Buhari issued a directive for security to be intensified at the hospitals to prevent a reoccurrence, maintaining that the case must be resolved immediately.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, says the rising prices of food in Nigeria will come down as more food is produced.

He said this in Abuja on Thursday at the 9th edition of President Muhammadu Buhari Administration’s Scorecard Series (2015 to 2023).

He said the area of self-sufficiency in most basic needs, as part of Buhari’s administration’s scorecard, had been largely downplayed.

Mohammed said though the nation was not fully there yet, the administration had done well since assuming office.


He said before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war and the economic uncertainty that had disrupted global supply chains, Buhari had admonished Nigerians to grow what they eat and eat what they grow.

The minister said many neither understood the importance of that admonition nor appreciated its relevance.


He said the consequence of that admonition, which made Nigerians to look inwards and relied less on imports, saved Nigerians from hunger, especially during the prolonged global lockdown when exporting nations shut their ports and borders and nations that relied on imports were struggling to meet their needs.

“Imagine that Nigeria, during that period, had relied on imports to feed itself. In 2020, when the pandemic started, we were just five years into the Buhari administration’s food security programme.

“But we had enough food to eat and enough fertiliser to farm, thanks also to the Presidential Fertiliser Initiative. Even before the pandemic, our borders were closed and food imports were largely banned.”

The Bauchi State Police Command have announced the arrest of a 35-year-old man who allegedly killed a wizard for trying to use him for sacrifice.

This was revealed in a statement released by SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the police public relations officer of the state.

SP Wakil said the suspect was arrested on the 6th of December 2022, after the unfortunate incident was reported at the Tafawa Balewa Divisional Police headquarters by a 44-year-old man (name withheld) from Gongo village.

Investigation revealed that, on that fateful day, the 44-year-old man, while returning from the market, saw flames coming out from the house of the deceased who was identified as 80-year-old Sunday Saleh.

He rushed to the scene to ascertain what was happening and on arrival, he met one Haruna Ezekiel (the suspect) at the scene and discovered that he killed and burnt the said Sunday Saleh inside the house.

He (the suspect), then dug a shallow grave behind the house and buried the body of the deceased.

We are familiar with stereotype women face in life simply because women are more likely to speak out.
On the other hand men have faced lots of stereotype in the past and present, but men don't like discussing matter like this, I dunno maybe they feel speaking out will affect their masculinity.
So I will be listing the stereotype I face as a young man.

1. A man can't babysit children especially a female child, people find it difficult to leave their kids alone with you, without being suspicious. why on Earth will you mark me as a potential rapist simply because I am a man?

2. People look less of you because you don't have a car, house or being financially stable. Everyone can't be those K-drama characters who have the money, house and youth. We are just doing what we can okay?

3. Being shy as a man. I remember I was registering for something, and the man looked at me and asked why was I smiling, most people smile because they are shy or nervous. He was asking me am I not a man? I told him Obama do smile when meeting people, does that make him less of a man.

4. Being close to parents. I remember then in school my friends laugh at me all the time for receiving so much call from my mum, they started calling me mummy's boy. Dunno if being close to your parent is a crime.
