So sorry about the delay. The first thing you need to do is to order for your gcms note to know the exact reason/s for your refusal.(for links on how to order your gcms note check previous posts). You definitely need to submit your own statement of account. If you have any work experience get a letter from them saying you were volunteering. I don't think 4m in your father's account is enough. Remember you have to show enough money for your Tuition (input the figure), living expenses for at least a year (10,000cad) and some money for flight expenses ( about 3000cad). Do the calculation. Also are you the only dependent on your father? Why will your father spend all the 4mil in his account for only you? How about his other dependent. Have you paid your Tuition? Those are the things the VO will consider. You may need to get a cosponsor...... Preferably another close relative. Read the beginning of this thread for documents you need to submit if you are using a sponsor. Finally I think you should contact @Frankrobbn, I don't know him but there are testimonies of people he has helped (a paid service though) with the LOE and Visa refusals and pulled through. Beautifulsoul21: Hello everyone. I’m new here as my friend introduced me to this platform yesterday. I got my refusal letter from IRCC yesterday and I’m planning on reapplying immediately because I’ve already started taking my lectures online and I really do want to continue. I wasn’t well informed before I applied for my visa. I didn’t write SOP, I didn’t show I had ties here and all. Please what can I do right now besides writing the SOP. I’m not working so I’m not earning money monthly but I used my Dad’s statement of account and it was over 4m that was shown on the statement of account. So could this be another reason I was rejected? Maybe the money’s not enough or something? I submitted the documents they requested I even wrote IELTS and passed it but I didn’t submit many other things like my additional qualifications, my Dad’s property documents and co. I just got to know all these now. Please I need advice, I want to reapply as soon as possible. |

Thank you, my first gcms too was through the ATIP site. CBSA though, I am thinking I should order through IRCC this time. Frankrobbn1: Order directly from ATIP, it faster. You can do so via this medium - AUTHORIZED LINK TO ORDER FOR YOUR GCMS NOTES. Also be aware that you will require the assistance of someone resident in Canada to help order the file on your behalf.

Official transcript is meant to be sent directly from the issuing school to the receiving school/office and you as a student is not supposed to get hold of it. Normally, what is required of you during admission processing is the unofficial transcript. Most schools will ask you to send your official transcript when your admission is out. So yes, go ahead and process your admissions with your unofficial transcript. BenedictStinson: Can someone apply for admission with unofficial transcript? I'm Thinking of getting a copy of my transcript from my university through Etx but their site says they give "unofficial" personal copies. Would that still be ok because I feel it would be stressful if I had to process a new transcript application for every admission application as I have more than one school in mind to apply for |

Please what's the preferential treatment for PhD student? Frankrobbn1: This is not true as there is no such information on IRCC website. Going for an undergraduate degree when your biological parents are your sponsors (between the age of 17-22 years), your chances of getting approval is high. However, if your sponsor is a third party (uncle) and you're above the stated age, it will be extremely difficult to scale through. More importantly, the visa processing times for undergraduate degree and Master's/PGD applicants are same. There are no preferential treatment for international students unless you're a PhD student.

Hello, I am also going to UoA and I have paid my Tuition. Even when it is showing Western Union ask them for Form A, go with the data generated by the Western Union, your certificate, your admission letter and your international id. Fill the forms properly and submit. It will take about two weeks or so they will debit you, you will get a confirmation mail from Western Union that they have gotten your money and have remitted same to UoA. After about 2-3days, check your student account and print your receipt. I hope this helps. TheDarkGamer: University of Alberta |

Glad to know you are fine. Thanks for your prayers and good wishes. Please keep us posted, I am sincerely looking out for your posts, updates and of course when your ppr will finally arrive. Spectro: Thank you so so much (May God's abundant blessings locate you). I'm quite well. I should have reapplied a lot earlier, but I am waiting for tuition fee debit in my account. GCMS note will come in first week of July, but that's not much problem.
I intend to make a very water-tight application this time, and I don't want to leave any stone unturned, which is why getting my tuition payment receipt is quite imperative. By the special grace of God, I should be able to apply either next week or the first week of July.
I am very happy about the PPR showers these past few weeks. I pray for more rain of PPR in the coming weeks. |

Hello, I wish I can help but I can't. I even looked for people I can borrow money from when I was processing my application....it just didn't work out. I will suggest you start looking out for schools that offer funding. Send to at least 3different schools that offer funding. You might also want to consider going for a thesis based masters instead of a course based program. Mcilfero: Hello Nairalanders. I have been following for a while now. I have had admission since February (M.A Communication at MSVU) but proof of funds has been a major problem up till now. I have no sponsor who has that kind of money and neither do I have that money as well as I am currently unemployed. I feel pained mostly because among those we applied together, my admission came first and I have even helped another person process admission after mine and those people are currently applying even in other countries ( I have asked questions on their behalf many times on this forum) I do not want this to go like this now that it's my turn. I am open to helps, suggestions and advices. Please if you have contact of anyone who can help, please do not hesitate to drop them for my sake Sirs &Mas. God bless you |

I guess you have made a mistake in your calculations.. 15kCAD can not be 3.4mil.... when I paid my tuition of 8700kCAD it was almost 3mil Lekiboboe: It can never be enough
Tuition amount for international student is most time around a Minimum of $15,000 CAD Dollars (Canadian Dollars), it can aswell be 18K CAD, 19K CAD depending on the college. Check the Colleges mentioned and check their tuition amount for international students.
Let's assume a college's tuition is $15,000 CAD, that's around 3.4 Million Naira
Compulsory Living Expenses of at least 1-year - $10,000 CAD , that's around 5.1 Million Naira
Which is a total of 8.5 million to 9 million naira
In a nutshell, Financial Readiness is very essential |

Even if you pay 50%, be sure to have the balance of your tuition and other fees, your living expenses and money for miscellaneous as evidence of proof of funds. I don't think you need any cover letter for that. You can explain in your SOP that you have made part payment of your Tuition and you have the balance in your account. Again this is my opinion. Thank you very much for your response to my question yesterday. I am very grateful, and I appreciate the kind effort.
The consent letter has been written (still need someone to review though), and I have started on the Statement of Purpose.
I want to know if it's too late to apply for a study permit. What's my chance of receiving a positive response before September? Also, the tuition is quite expensive (UofA), so the school has let us pay 50 percent now and the remaining by January. Should I reflect that in my application and do I also need a cover note from the university for that?
Thank you. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by SweetJJ: 8:36pm On Jun 25, 2021 |
I am also going to UofA. What program are you going for? And how much is your tuition? Because from what I am seeing from other people's post here....UofA tuition isn't that expensive. As for your chances of receiving a positive response....I am not sure someone here can categorically tell you when you will receive a response but to increase your chances, submit your application with MBS of at least 30kCAD, IELTS and upfront medical. This is my opinion tho TheDarkGamer: CC ekulu77 Shupy Mofolam

How much do you trust this agent? Was he some random guys you met on the net? Or he has an office you met him in? Right from admission you should be able to know what's going on in your application etc. It's likely there was no admission in the first place. If you know him personally, try and book an appointment and verify his claims of the admission and visa. If you don't know him personally, highest you can do is to drag him on social media. Best thing to do, is to forget about him, start afresh and apply for schools, after admission then apply for Visa yourself. This platform has been advocating for DIY to avoid stories like this. Teemenzo: I can't say if the offer is still valid because its last year and the agent told me he has differed the admission to this year. But he hasn't sent any document to me to certify it. |

This is where you need to work. We cannot really help you since we do not know if you are going for Bsc, msc,PhD, pgd, Etc. Use Google and do school search of the course you want to study. While doing so, bear the tuition ( as per your budget), and other things in mind. Get admission then come back to this thread for study permit advice. I guess there is another thread for admission. Then use the search button and search for documents for study permit. Feel free to ask your question if you get confused along the line. For now, I would say, do your homework. Success in your search. Teemenzo: You mean i have been scammed, no qualms. How can i start the whole process again from applying to a school to the study visa? Its not the end. |
