@NAmfav; As sSalaamualaykum wa Rahmatullah. you need to let this sister be. Allah Subhannah wa Taala says in the Quran, then they become disbelievers after belief. Then they become believers again. They they go into disbelief, again, etc, etc. The above shows that Allah has the door of belief wide open for those who wish to enter it, before death knocks them dead. Those who never tasted faith do not know what they are missing. But to get them to taste it will not by force. you have to present Islam in the best manner. while you do not condemn any religion because the adherents will pull up a wall of resistance, you must however present the sweetness of Iman, hoping that Allah wil open their breasts to receive guidance and light of Iman, while you systematically awake their mind towards the flaws of whatever they belief. Allah says to Moses about Pharaoh; be gentle in your delivery of guidance. And Moses therefore said peace of Allah is to those who received His guidance. Allah says to Muhammad [as], be soft with then, hence they may flee away from you. i have met fulani from mauritanian who calls himself mark on the street of new york city. we also have egyptian arabs who says he is mark, a former teacher at prestigious Al Azar University. yet daily people revert to islam. a woman died a muslim, less than 3 weeks ago after entering islam through her daughter in just 3 ramadhans ago. i am hoping that the sisters and brothers on this thread and others will see Islam in a brighter light if we can remove the impurities we have put in it by our manners. who says that the poser and her hausa boyfriend will not in their lifetime become Muslims, even if the wall is a slippery slope to climb right now? relax, man |
@Tpiah; i'm yoruba. islam is my tradition before my yorubaness. every child of Adam is my sibling. every muslim has additional right over me. i struggle to unform people about Islam, which itself has its own culture unique and independent from all others including arab cultures of makka and madina. if i do anything that anyone may call 'arab', it is because the messenger [as] and or his followers [ra] did it and not because the arabs do it. |
PAstorAio finally shows his true color. if you know anything about any royalty, you will know that reference to oneself in the third person is normal. A friend of mine told me a story of a certain yoruba king who called his younger brother about the young man's fiancee who happens to be the king's secretary. the king said 'kabiyesi' lo nsoro o, when he introduced himself. in the conversation, he used 'awa' for himself liberally. And as for why Allah Will not immediately kill or strike a person like you who insults Him, Islam or Muhammad [as], is because there is a Day of reckoning. Allah is so merciful that your master shaytan is allowed to live even until after the death of the last 'child' of our common father Adam [as]. for you a son of Adam, you are given the 'chance' to repent. but if your 'ifa' arrogance will continue to waylay you then, wait for the end time; you will surely know what awaits arrogance. i do not say arrogant in your case, but arrogance because it becoming you, relishing in the quality of arrogance will definitely receive the full measure of it value. |
@Araboy; thats not being liberal. thats being ignorant or deviant. and i am a yoruba muslim. when a person does not follow the test question or understand there is a test in the first place, you will not say he is liberal by going to the wrong test hall or not taking any test, though he/she registered for the course. mot all yoruba muslims are in that state of liberalism. Islam says 'moderation', not extremism or liberalism. moderation means observing all that you are to observe; your religious duties keeping in mind of what purpose it is for. at the same time being tolerant of others; the hues and arrays of your differences, not falling for their seductive ways and reminding them without forcing anything on them that Islam is the best and only correct way. a person who takes life of another [without justice] cant say he is a true muslim, and of course you will call him an extremist to denote that he is a deviant, somewhat from the norm. a person who allows a complete slaughter of his family [without putting up a struggle] cant be a muslim because he walked away from his own legal battle. you who is not accept him as a 'liberal' regardless of his religion or not. Dukakis lost the presidency to bush senior for forlow of prisoner horton. there are rules to ever thing, otherwise there will not be any order in it. |
i am on the path of my forefather Adam [as]. i will no fall for the gimmick of shaytan [lana], the one you are advocating. i know i would confuse you, congoshine, since i mentioned hell fire. anyway, my last comment on the one on one with you. miriam is happy in her Islam. Alhamdulillah. i am certain that her future will be brighter. InshaAllah. |
aribisala0 thinks Olodumare as a name belongs to the idolatry. he conveniently forgets that it is a yoruba word, that is used for that 'Worship' being. we in Islam say the Name stands for Allah in yoruba expression. the christians will say it stands for their biggest entity in the trinity. if there is a jew who has yoruba heritage, the same name will stand for Who they say is their God. if aribisala0 worships his wife, that wife is his olodumare. believe it or not. |
congoshine o; i listened to a tafsir of surah "Humaza" the other day. in it Allah promises that the "Fire" of Hell will burn so fiercely that it will consume every part of the body simultaneously! imagine touching the skin and touching the innermost of the body part, just that instant. they will crumble at the same time. and it will be repeated without ending and never getting used to. all gods will burn along with the worshipers like that, as long as these gods say that they should be worship, the reason Jesus of the Quran will not be part of the gods to be burnt. definitely shaytan who excites them will be burn for sure. i ask Allah not to count any of us as follower of shaytan. Amin. you have a chance, man. you cant have any excuse now since we muslims on nl are playing rissala [being the carriers of the Islamic true radical monotheism] for you. |
Whats with the cowboy hat on the head of this GEJ ? There is no other 'cultural' head gear he can put on? Are the yankee prierie 'fidora' made in nigeria? can we imagine obama in kenyan hat/cap all the time? is GEJ blood from the cowboy tradition? |
@Nene1; i have seem dark skinned women, even almost as coal wear hijab. and subhannaAllah, they look radiant. your eyes and my eyes are seeing two different interpretations. i see beauty in them, you see not so beautiful in them. beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. it also the manifestation of the heart. |
my dear sister ify is a real scholar in this matter. may Allah increase you in knowledge. Amin. brother azharrudiin is also correct. to the poser; if you are struggling to make your daily prayers, do you need the person whose action will discourage you even from putting in that struggle? the christians say not to be unyoke with 'unbelievers'. muslim is an unbeliever in this case. we know that your 'boyfriend' dont care. do you have not to care too? if his parents dont mind, is it right for your parents to imitate his parents, too, especially when there is Quran and Hadith/Sunnah as guide in every matter? why would your dating not be inclusive of your guidance; your parent or a male in your bloodline that will make sure your boyfriend will not milk your cow without paying for it and caring to keep it well fed? i use the cow here as a metaphor, because if you are doing what legal husband and wife are doing, without a nikka [islamic marriage ceremony], what is the spirit of islam there in you? fear and be conscious of Allah. if the man wants you, and you cant wait for a muslim to come along, then you and your parents should tell him about Allah and make sure he becomes a true muslim, first. then marry him and you will not be violating the law of Allah. he your muslim husband will make your struggle to make 5 daily prayers easy, even a thing of the past, since he and you will hurry to make prayers. imagine if you marry him while he remains a non muslim. he will not appreciate anything you do for the cause of Allah. you may just make wudu and it is at that time he wants to be your husband, because your rules are completely different from his. he will become your shayatin, right there in the house and in the bedroom, because anything may go for him, while you are on a guideline. The problem with muslim male and female youngs are that one set her expectation too high, forgetting Allah, while imitating non muslims. the other is so timid to let his intention known while those who have no rules of engagement get to our precious sisters without any problems. i pray that we prioritize our affairs trying to obey our Creator. Amin. |
the Kaaba is not like yemoja, etc or whatever you wish to call on. it is not also like ifa or anything like you will experience outside the 'deen' of The Almighty Allah, or if you speak yoruba, Olodumare as the muslims recognize Him in that language. The sister in this discussion is the one thinking outside the box. in her case it is deep thought. unlike fake 'outside the box' of yemojas and obatalas and amandiola, etc, etc. i am very confident that she is happy. a child who started crawling may cry because it is an experience that brings fatigues and new challenges. but wait until he/she is old enough to be world class sprinter! she will get there. we each face a struggle here or a struggle there. the world is a process. life is full of struggle and challenges. |
joagbaje said 'its not in literal sense'. maybe we have to say jesus being God or son of God or died for anybody's sin or is the only way, etc, etc is not in the literal sense, too? i know you know if you said you can handle literal in one sense, why not another, especially the 'turning the other cheek' thingy? i know the dude above will be tempted to see if anyone can turn the other cheek. |
i know about the oyotunji people in south carolina. in summer of 1990, i hung out with a family from there with 'yoruba traditional face marks [some people call it scratch, hence they are nicknamed 'tigers' as in the tiger clawa scratches]' in miami, florida. i am very certain that not all my forefather's traditions are ok. godly but not Godly, the reason we say they are idolaters. i do not use 'beads', preferring to count with my fingers. while Kaaba is where i turn my face in worship, it is not the building or anything in or not in it that i obey in doing so. i do so in the obedience of the Lord of all things Who commands me. Qibla by definition is 'direction'. nothing more than that. Kaaba happens to be the spot of 'direction' for muslims. While i consciously choose islam as my way, i therefore shun everything else. is there a god/God other than The One God? This is my God He Whose Face does not perish. Everliving, Always Sustaining, Capable and Never diminishes. Please show me a proof that there is anything 'idol, statue, etc' housed in Kaaba, today. you made allegation. i know you are doing the bidding of others for them. go to youtube and you will see video of inside the Kaaba. no one worship the building, otherwise you will not even see anyone standing on it when they are spreading cloth over it. finally, Seyiddina Bilal Rabah used to stand on its roof to make the call for prayers. they used to stand on top of its roof before mic and speakers replace the old way of the call to prayers. |
thats three. how is it One? |
did anyone understand congostine, in the immediate, above, for the most part? since we muslims think alike, i will answer no. none of us understand you, congoshine. we abandoned the idols of our forefathers for God Almighty Who created. God say I am your Creator. I am the Creator of what you create. so when clothes and raffia leaves are worn by a man pretending to become 'masquerade', at the end of it all, the masquerade is nothing without the creation of God creating it and giving it weak/fake power it does not have of its own. or in your mind the clorhes and raffia leaves, alone can walk down the street, without man inside it or devicing a mechanism to move it, so that you may be gullible enough to think of it as something important? congoshine, oba koso, is a gimmick. if you see a sango shrine, you can scatter scatter it and nothing will happen until the people who use it as the means of their livelihood begins to make noise. sango is dead if there was a sango in the first place. if it was powerful, he would not have allowed death to terminate him. and death is a creation of the God we muslims worship. everyone, will experience, except The Creator. |
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It is obvious that the statement that you recorded that was spoken to Thomas is incorrect. Did you consider those favored by God before Jesus came with the Gospel? Proof; Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Lot to name a few before Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Elisha, Job, David, etc, Zacharias, John the son of Zacharias; none of them needed Jesus to get to God. God spoke to Moses so much that the muslims, jews and yes the christians accept that God did speak with him. Abraham was beloved by God that He said of Abraham "My Personal Friend". How is Jesus the only way in light of the above? Did they need him at all? Which one of them and how? Watch folks how the Pastor trips himself. He has himself in a pickle, now. Harry Hoodini in a stray jacket without a hidden key in his mouth. |
if jesus didn't raise himself up, how can jo raise anyone up? If jesus truly died, he would have remained dead. but jo's story and jesus's story have common thread; no true eyewitness. finally, no one certified that death truly occurred. |
^^^^^ Alhamdulillah. She is not confused. She is having good life. Just because a child says crawling is difficult does not mean the child will not find excitement in it, and enjoys walking fast when walking properly is mastered. Do we all have to be stationary like our forefathers when the chained masquerade can't even snatch the chain off the one that controls it? By the way is the costume able to do anything of its own without the man that wears it? This goes for all idolatry; ogun can't do anything on its own. Congoshine needs to let the Light of Iman shines on his hidden congo in a cocooned bone. |
@Pastorade; « #6 on: Today at 07:00:36 PM » [Quote]The answer to your question is found in 1 Peter 3: 18-20.[/Quote]Pastorade can't defend a statement that is riddled with emptiness. What Jesus said is not even known for sure in the Bible because his "Gospel" is not found in the Bible. What we found are the "Gospels" according to first name writers. According to tells us that it is supposed to have been reiterated by the named entity, to the story narrator. This is the best we come up with. Jesus was neither the story teller nor the one that reiterated his 'preaching; his Gospel. It is injustice if Jesus is the only way, because he should have been the first to be alive and live until all generations hear his warning. We already know that he arrived only a mere 2,000 years ago. That is like last evening to the existence of the the world for many months or years. If the preached Gospel of Jesus is not captured in its pure state; dotting all the i[es] and crossing the t[es] exactly, why is a mixture of some truth [possibly] and untruth [glaring evidence abound] can ever pass as the source left by 'the only way' for human being? What role did Moses play in the lives of those he led away from slavery? What role did Noah play in the lives of the people he led away from the flood? What role did Lot play in the lives of those he led away from the brimstone? What role did Jesus play in each of these just to name a few? How is Jesus the only way when it is obvious he played no role in salvation of each of the groups? Is Jesus the one to give salvation to Moses, the one whose book Jesus had to follow and confirmed that whosoever abolishes it will be the least in the kingdom of heaven? Paul abolished it, I think. I hope the pastor can respond to the questions from the other contributors, instead of telling us to go to Peter, when he could not quote Jesus himself, directly. Is Jesus speech now less effective about himself compared to what Peter or any other persons say about him? @benodic; « #7 on: Today at 07:03:49 PM » [Quote]@ Timehin (m) Quote LOVE IS THE ONLY ONE WAY TO GOD. Either as a christian, muslim, Buddhist, e.t.c if one has a genuine LOVE toward his/her fellow human it'l automatically becomes a sort of daily worship to the creator cos such individual will refrain from acts that may oppress others (he'l gradually run away from evil or sin). It is not only christians that have access to God but rather the all encompassing LOVE one bears within. Even majority of the so called self-acclaimed christians couldnt understand the teachings of christ properly hence their one sided interpretations. The emergence of christ is a gift out of the LOVE of God towards man. A proper understanding of that LOVE will save the world from religious dogmatism thanks for your wonderful input. i wish more people will come to this realization that love and love alone will take you to heaven and not any doctrine or dogma or holy book. the aim of spiritual masters and holy books is to awaken the love of God that is already within each soul. unfortunately followers of religion leave the main thing and start fighting each other over whose master or whose God is bigger. very sad indeed.[/Quote]Who sets up the rule that governs The Only way to God, but God Himself? God Himself hates evil, the reason He will punish the likes of Hitler, etc. To therefore say that only 'love' can conquer is giving your own definition preference over what The One Who sets the rule says. The Only way to God is following His Direct Commandments upon you. What you have to do is to find the source that has His direct Commandments and latch on to it. Ask Him alone to guide your affairs so that you find it as soon as possible. At least before death comes knocking. We do not know when that is and it is definitely too late at that time; when pharaoh was drowning he realized his fault. He repented, but it was in vain. Pharaoh was thrown into his watery grave by force. He didn't leisurely rode into the sea. |
@yommyuk; about the above, who is the wife of the father that bore "Him" the son? when you can answer this without begging the question, i will consider your thinking if it makes any sense. |
@flawless; you have been floored because you have a lot of flaws. |
@Alex101; my brother, it is spelled y o r u b a instead of yorobo. the Yoruba people did not consider you when they spelled out their ethnic identification. i give it to you though; the have loud mouth. |
@Thehomer; the author of the piece on wikipedia knows little or nothing about What Allah means to the muslims. Allah is not 'god', but The [Al] God [Ilah]. Deity is Illa. This is why we have 'Laa illa ha ilaAllah' to mean 'Noo deity worthy of Worship as God except Allah, Alone'. This statement negates all possible gods, expressed or implied, overtly or covertly, subtly or flaunted. The Quran says whatever the mind can conjure up, it is not Allah The Absolutely beyond Imagination. |
@Ileke Idi; « #8 on: Today at 05:33:18 AM » [Quote]Ase is usually for traditional yoruba religion. . . means "it shall happen". Amin was employed for Christianity use. You ca use both.[/Quote]Ase, Aribe, Amin, Olorun aagba, etc are used by yoruba muslims. Limiting the Ase or Amin to others without extending it to the muslims is simply because you do not know anything about the truth of Islam. |
@particles^^^^ OT says an Invisible God. NT says Jesus, Ghost and Father are God[s]. Which one is the correct God concept, since neither truly accepts the other? For sure, the OT annihilates the concept of Jesus being God, if i may say so without any reservation that i may be proven wrong. |
^^^^Jpworld forgot that Ethiopia is in Africa. So are Sudan and Egypt to name a few. All of the above were in existence before Abraham. And jesus was just yesterday, long after Moses who was the day before. How were the goats, etc in Africa? |
^^^^^^ The jews say their God is One. The christians say their God is Three in One or One in Three. Christians say Jesus is one of the Three. The jews say Jesus is no God, since God is Always Invisible among other Absolute Qualities He has. Olaadegbu, how is the judeo-christian God working for you and rabbi benjamin nathanyahu? Trinity is no jewish God. Trinity is christian God. how can you say with straight face that your christian God is same with jewish God? |
^^^^^^ without intending to critic the 'light and season' statement above, if you believe that Moses was inspired by his Creator, aren't you therefore against God when you abolish what Moses had been given, and say Jesus is the only way? was Moses not the way in his time? |
@Joagbaje; do you believe in the Bible? OT and NT? all of it, or which part you do not believe 100%? choose your part. in that part we shall see if Jesus is the only way. |
^^^^^ And if they wish for peace, lean towards peace with them, too. Where does it say fight back, without stopping? Alhandulillah. at least you did not invent that Muslim must start a war, or strike [preemptive strike of Bush style] first, even when not provoked, but armed with suspicion of WMD only. Continue. just maybe you will get better, allowing the light of iman to enter your heart. it rekindles a dead heart. |
Each of these evils s borne out of ignorance and deviance away from True Islam. |
^^^^^ as to Muhammad being a prophet, thats the crust of the bake. So lets go there. it is where the heart is. At least mine, by the fact that it does preach no blood needed and you can approach God directly, without a mediator. The above approach to God is the best. better than the approach of spilling the blood of a reluctant man Jesus, and better, too, than the approach of spilling the blood of reluctant animals. Jesus at the diner table long before the hanging show said 'God, i finish the work you sent me to do.' This tells us hanging was not part of it, the reason he asked that he not be captured after it. Further what kind of willing sacrifice that will cry ' . . . why do you forsake me [why do you let it happen to me?]'? the concept of death for others crumbled like the imploded city of oakland's second world war era hospital demolished today. |
