The Only way to God is following His Direct Commandments upon you. What you have to do is to find the source that has His direct Commandments and latch on to it. Ask Him alone to guide your affairs so that you find it as soon as possible. At least before death comes knocking. We do not know when that is and it is definitely too late at that time; when pharaoh was drowning he realized his fault. He repented, but it was in vain.

Pharaoh was thrown into his watery grave by force. He didn't leisurely rode into the sea.
