The science is in
In a meta-analysis of 88 studies, we examined the association between soft drink consumption and nutrition and health outcomes. We found clear associations of soft drink intake with increased energy intake and body weight. Soft drink intake also was associated with lower intakes of milk, calcium, and other nutrients and with an increased risk of several medical problems (e.g., diabetes)
Vartanian LR, Schwartz MB, Brownell KD. Effects of soft drink consumption on nutrition and health: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Am J Public Health. 2007 Apr;97(4):667-75. doi: 10.2105/AJPH.2005.083782. Epub 2007 Feb 28. PMID: 17329656; PMCID: PMC1829363.
Our findings support the hypothesis that soft drink intake increases blood pressure. While further studies should be conducted to confirm our findings, food policies and recommendations to limit soft drink intake are likely to help reduce blood pressure at the population level
Hernández-López, R., Canto-Osorio, F., Vidaña-Pérez, D. et al. Soft drink and non-caloric soft drink intake and their association with blood pressure: the Health Workers Cohort Study. Nutr J 21, 37 (2022). https://doi.org/10.1186/s12937-022-00792-y It's crazy how far you're willing to go to defend nonsense. You're quoting a research carried out by foreigners in a place where people are relatively obese to support this madness from this conscienceless government? A can of Malt is N500, a bottle of coke is N250-N300, even ordinary Bobo is almost N20. All these high prices in a country where the minimum wage can't buy two live chickens. On top of that, the majority of Nigerians are either unemployed or underemployed. And you think Nigerians can afford to drink soft drinks to the extent that it will make them obese? Hello sir, how many Nigerians can afford a balanced diet? What is your government doing about it? |

Will you pick up your laptop to do any form of work, or would you rather not? Point out one bible verse that says we must rest on sunday let's start from there. And to answer your question, I work all days, even in my sleep.

Politics › Re: Prices Of Some Items In South East by Tallesty1(m): 12:18pm On Mar 10, 2024 |
Saintinoo: Someone with just wake up come online and start writing figures and generalize to a whole region, which part of the East did you get this fiqure because in Onitsha;
Lowest grade of local rice is sold at 40k (10 paint rubber)
Pure water is 350 per bag
Keke rideis between 100 to 200 naira
Cooking Gas is 1300.
Note, Anambra is by far one of the cheapest place to stay in the whole Southern Nigeria, as there is too many economic activities which brings competition and by extension, price reduction. It will shock you that a 3 bedroom flat is just 200k and 240k depending on how new the house is in Onitsha. Things are even cheaper in Enugu, to be honest. But these people will just sit at home and write nonsense as facts. I have a friend who believed that food is more expensive in the East than in all other regions of Nigeria. I hardly argue with folks like him because many Nigerians struggle to let go of old beliefs and embrace new ones So when I had work down in the East, I took him with me. At the first eatery, he was asked if he wanted fufu for ₦300 or ₦400. He asked me the difference, and I told him that ₦300 is for normal people and ₦400 is for those who usually eat more. He was shocked. I took him to several restaurants, both cheap and expensive. When the work was completed, we came back here, and I took him to a couple of restaurants where we can get food of similar quality to what we had down East. It was then that I asked him if food is still expensive in the East, and he said it is not. Don't waste your time on these people; let them believe what they want to believe. |

immortalcrown: Fatherhood is not easy. If his wife turns against him tomorrow, his good deeds towards the children will be forgotten. Be there for your kids. Buy things for them yourself instead of giving your wife money to buy for them. Have a good relationship with them. That way, if your wife turns against you or manipulates them to hate you, it will only be temporary. They will come to you when adulthood hits them. That's if she succeeds at all. |

Pure water was N150 per bag until Tinubu did what he did. No dealer or retailer exploited people then so if you feel the price is high then tell Tinubu to undo what did let's see if the price won't drop to old price. |
