Men, and I thought babs787 was confused. |
@fromuk, If the future of Iraq is in their hand why then did Bush went to war with them. he could have left them to determine their fure and destiny. If we follow this same logic, the people of Sudan had better prepare for total annihilation via genocide. We can all bury our heads in our hands and declare: "their future and destiny is in their hands." Let us be reasonable in what we vomit. Who will all these Iraq children grow to be after seeing date every minute of the childhood.I will overlook your insult about vomiting for the first and last time. Please keep to the topic and present your points without recourse to insults. I believe you are capable of doing just that. The Iraq children will likely grow up with the same Shia-Sunni hatred that has been enshrined in thier culture since the civil war that broke out in Prophet Mohammed's Household. |
@mr me too, Without the invasion in the first place there won't be all these senseless deaths.I guess it was Bush's invasion that led to the thousands that died on 911. Bush's invasion is also the cause of the Iran/Iraq war where millions were killed! We see the Shites and Sunnis killing themselves because of religious differences yet we claim it is Bush's fault. How many Nigerians turned on themselves when we were colonised by the British? People will rather not speak the truth but hang on to their prejudices. Assuming Bush effects a military action to remove the regime in Sudan, and the Sudanese will rather kill themselves afterward rather than move forward, who will you blame again - Bush? The future of the Iraqis is in their hands and they either unite or destroy each other. The choice is theirs. |
@mamajama, I didn't know you have such a sense of humour. Anyway, you just countered one rumour with another rumour with this your arrest in Abuja talk! |
@babyosisi, Something or someone in you must be agitating some demons somewhere. Do I here it is the holy Spirit?! |
@Telly B, You've made it very dificult for me to post anything on nairaland again. Not only do you articulate my thoughts very clearly, your scholarship is so apt that I just want to sit behind the computer and learn!! Keep up the good job bro, or sis, or whatever !!! |
@mukina2, When you've finished collecting all the sympathy you wanted (and maybe rightly deserve), I hope you will start another thread to debunk all the inspiration the real Terrorists get from Mohammed, the Qu'ran and the Hadiths. Please carry that same aversion and passion you have shown here to deal with this issue. |
@Wa_do_mo, should he be brought to order. How do you intend to do that? The Bola Ige way?!! |
@PeeDaVinci, what is the relationship between election rigging and ballot boxes pic you're displayin?I was going to say the same thing here until I looked at the pictures a little more closely. It is obvious that those ballot papers were stashed into the boxes in bundles. This cannot happen if each ballot paper was dropped by one person at a time. If those pictures are real and not staged, then something fishy actually took place!! |
@topic, Here's another news I came across at http://www.kickoffnigeria.com/stories/story8155.html. But my thought on this is why do people have t carry so much money around? It encourages armed robbery as well. Dolphins skipper Victor Ezeji narrowly escaped being shot to death by armed robbers on Friday on his way to Calabar for Sunday's CAF Confederation Cup second leg match against Maranatha Fiokpo. The striker escaped with his life, but lost over N1 million of Dolphins money and 000 of his own personal money in cash. Ezeji, driving coach Philip Boamah's Volswagen Polo, was travelling in the company of team mate Iyowuna Edward and assistant coach Ken Chukwu when they ran into armed robbers. KICK OFF gathered that the robbers took N64 000 from Ezeji's pockets, two Nokia cell phones - a Communicator and a 6600, plus 4 000 Dollars that the Dolphins skipper had procured for his wife. Ken Chukwu was relieved of N450 000 before the hoodlums ordered the striker to open the boot of the car, but Ezeji stubbornly refused, saying it was not his car and he did not know how to open it. This upset the robbers, who ordered all three to lie down on the ground and then set upon Ezeji with their gun butts. When he still refused to budge, one of the robbers simply gave an order to 'Waste him'. In a last desperate bid to save Ezeji's life, Chukwu stood up from the ground, took the keys from Ezeji and opened the boot. Inside was the sum of well over N1 million which had been given to the Dolphins skipper to take to Calabar. The money was meant to cover part payment for seconded Super Eagles assistant coach Austin Eguavoen as well as the settlement of sundry expenses incurred by the club in Calabar. |
@topic, Here is one of many letters sent to us by a colleague stationed in Iraq. Happy reading. Things are going fine here. I am attending a school in the north of the IZ (Iraq=IZ). Things are relatively quite here and after I move back to my home FOB I'll let you know about all of the fun (very relative term) I'm having here. I can tell you that I'm stationed in the south and am working with the Iraqi Shieks on almost a daily basis. Their Holy day is Friday so that is typically our day to recover (clean weapons, vehicle maint., wash cloths, etc.)so I'm kept pretty busy. A typical day is something like this: up at around 0630~0700, a little physical training (PT), then breakfast and to the office were we make our final checks on the intell situation prior to leaving the wire. We conduct our PCIs (Pre-Combat Checks)and typically roll out sometime after 0900 . I'm working on a Civil Affairs team most of the time, developing project scope of work, inspecting projects in progress, meeting with local leaders, etc. All the kids are crazy, they want whatever isn't tied to us; pens, flashlights, knives, whatever they can get us to give them. But they very seldom touch us or try to just take stuff. As Americans, we are perceived as very powerful, and perception is everything in this culture. The Iraqi's understand our rank structure better then some of our own jr enlisted and they are very good at negotiations. Every meeting has a defined end state and a defined alternative to the best posable outcome. So the meetings are very structured as to the one or two messages we intent to deliver, and the negotiation that will always take place (it's a cultural thing that helps build rapport). The country is very poor, the mud huts that most people live in are very, very basic but if they are any where near a power pole, they have electricity and a satellite(This is an NEC nightmare over here). Typically two rooms, one for sleeping and hiding the females when we arrive and the other is a guest area where we eat, drink chi tea, burnt coffee and have social discussions. The business is usually saved for later in the meeting. I have been taking language classes and cultural classes. Both are very useful outside the wire on a daily basis. Their culture is very different from ours and very, very interesting. I have read a book called "The Arab Mind" that gives a lot of insight into why they act the way they do. I am also studying something called COIN operations (counter insurgency operations). As far as the NEC nightmare, the locals will climb the poles, strip back the insulation and wrap their own service drops to their house. I hear of dead Iraqi's trying to do this but have not seen it first hand yet. The lines run down the pole and into the mud hut. They have some of the lattice structures here too but if they aren't guarded, the locals steal the cross members until they think the structure might fall if they take any more of the material. It's so crazy I have to laugh when I see it. Since moving to the north, I have heard incoming mortars nightly but nothing has come too close. They are really a very low threat to us, the real threat is on the roads. But we fly when moving between FOBs so not really an issue for me. The guys on the ground are the ones who have to dodge them. I've seen the damage that they do and it is bad. While the US press would never say it, we (the US) is making great gains in winning this thing. The average insurgency (and there have been many since WWII) lasts between 9 and 13 years. we're in year three, So we have some work to do yet. All of the troops are doing a great job and very professional. We have excelled at everything we've done to this point so I expect that to continue. We have been talked about by the Joint Chiefs, always in a good light. We are the best National Guard Brigade to have gone through the Joint Readiness Training Center in LA to date. We have exceeded all of our higher headquarters expectations, at least in our train-up, so far. Our mission is very different then what we trained for but we knew it would be. The philosophy is that if we can handle full spectrum operations, then this mission will be easy for us. In other words, we trained for a worst case scenario. We don't really need anything, the Army has done a good job of getting us the equipment that we need. I'll send more updates as we go. |
@Afam, On the contrary I prefer not to put down names of people that are habitual liars and shameless things.Do you know who the liar is? Take a look in the mirror and you'll find one staring down into your ugly face! Let me have your surname as I need to buy 2 dogs, I will use your username for one and your surname for the other. Deal?Your lack of home training is so evident to all. I want to believe that you were taught but your empty head never allowed you to receive training from elders. I guess all the rabbied dogs you've bought and eaten is what is making you bark like one all over the world wide web. Shameless animal. All you need say is that you have no clue of the topic at hand and go learn from those who can train dogs like you. At least, a quiet fool can be mistaken to be wise. |
@Afam, Just saw this. Na wahoooo.I guess the cheap drugs you've been taking have knocked you senseless to notice. So this boy is now able to know when he is being refered to, a positive development in my opinion.Your cowardice keeps you from addressing people by name but we can clearly see through your shenanigan. Besides, any one not cursed with an empty brain as yours will understand your reference to the "truth" can only be in response to the only post that has mentioned the tuth thus far - mine! Mixing unintelligence, stupidity and foolishness together is not good at all.A classic personal confession of a sobering addict to cheap drugs! The last statement (in bold) refers, can't remember seeing any audio feature on this forum so there is no way I could have said your name. Your olodoness no get part 2.Whatever! Keep hiding your head in the sand! Anyone with some sense understands what I wrote! |
@topic, It is obvious that the anti-Isreali gang have nothing to say but to malign the rest of us. They have provided no proof whatsoever other than to call us names. In their 'kolo' world, it is now a crime to be Christian and stand by Isreal despite the fact that you provide non-biblical proofs to establish your position. You guys can eat your hearts out for all I care. The Jews are here to stay on their forefathers' land. If you don't like it, go align with Hamas - they are looking for more suicide bombers anyway. Go blow your pea brains out as no one will miss it. |
i can understand oyakhilome . although he looks and acts like hinn too, i wonder if they have a finishing school for prosperity preachersHave you noticed how he nows heals like T.B. Joshua too? He points and controls people with his finger to "heal" them. You can sure accuse him of anything but originality!!! |
@topic and Donnie, I guess it goes to show that God's thoughts are different from your thoughts and His ways are different from your ways. It will be good if you can align your thoughts and ways to conform to His and let Him show you that there is indeed a difference between light and darkness. I have said it before and based on my personal experiences with Christ Embassy Christians that their allegiance is more to their work and Pastor than to Jesus Christ Himself. It is obvious that the miracle 'show' and the rest of it is about pushing a man's agenda against God's. That is the sole reason why they will defraud and steal just to get that agenda going. It is the same reason why Oyhaks will rather save face rather than declare his association with T.B. Joshua unscriptural. It don't matter what damage that association does to the Body of Christ and to the cause of Christ, what matters is that he looks good and error-proof in the eyes of his ever adoring and gullible fans known as his church members! |
@tng, Immediately i saw this topic, i knew it was another avenue to bash Islam and Muslims. Why don't you leave them to practice what they believe in and you practice yours?More politically correct statements. I guess we are to leave Osama Bin ladin and his hord of suicide bombers alone to practice their religion the way they seem fit - cold blooded murder of anyone who believes differently than they do!!! |
@I-man, Davidylan, Kudos to you guys. it's always nice to have people who stand by the truth no matter how politically unnacceptable it is. This debate has exposed the pro-palestines (not to use anti-semitic) as lacking in knowledge. Their diversionary tactics has been legendary. They keep saying our views are based on the Bible when we have not for once sourced for evidence from that Good Book. Then Tornadoz accused me of extensive quotation from the Bible when I only did that once in response to Afam's claim that he is a 'practicing' Christian. Mrmayor is now on board quoting profusely from the bible - so who now is making conclusions based on that Good Book? The hypocrisy of these bunch is most evident when they consider Pat Robertson a persona non grata, and yet gloss over Mohammed's statement which calls for the anihilation of the Jews and is a part of the binding Articles in the establishment of Hamas. They are quick to point at Gideon Levy's article but that same finger limps when Mohammed's statement stares them right in the face. I can't remember when last I listened to Pat Robertson or watched the 700 Club, and neither have I had much time to listen to the Fox News or any other News network for that matter. As Davidylan said, all they need do is prove that these sources are untruthful and we will take it up from there. In the mean time, I will expect them to keep reveling in their ignorance and taking pleasure in their hate-filled rhetoric towards a people whose right to the land of their forefathers cannot be questioned, not in the list bit by those who are recent immigrants to that land - the Palestines. |
@topic, I can't make out what I have enjoyed the most on this forum. How do I pick between Babyosisi's rib-cracking comments, Davidylan's succint responses, Telly B's brilliant scholarship or the sheer cluelessness of the adherents of Islam! And the fun is only just beginning. You know what? When I think of people making such wildly frantic statements as "east is east wherever one faces or stands", I recoil and ask myself if these folks have anything to offer. It is even more hilarious that most of their apologists pretend that Islam is "the most scientific" religion! Where did these guys put their brains??The statement in bold is the main reason why I hardly engage in debate with the muslims on nairaland anymore. You tend to walk away from the discussion with nothing gained at all. They have no clue who or what they worship but they tend to make the bigger noise about their faith. I have been so impressed with the level of scholarship that continually comes from the Christians' camp that reminds me of Paul's statement that "I know whom I have believed". Same cannot be said of the Muslims and I am left with no option but to commit them into the hands of God. In any case, keep up the good work guys while endeavoring not to offend anybody. While I may not have contributed, I do follow the discussion. |
@Mckren, First of all I simply don't know why I will dream of being American President when I am not American. I am not even trying to be an American let alone being their President. So God knows what you are getting at.That is the problem with you guys. Any topic provides an opportunity to smear people and neglect the issues raised. Can't you dissociate personalities from issues? It took your very first post on this thread to start your smear campaign and you turned me into an enemy just because I pointed it out to you. Can't you see the direction you are leading this thread based on such unwarranted attack on perhaps, the most powerful man in the world? I clicked on this topic hoping to hear arguments for and against the qualifications of Okonjo-Iweala but what I came across is another smear campaign by the usual people. Don't you get tired of it? Addressing the things you said, you claimed someone has declared war on you. Doesn't that smirk of personaliy issues? That someone opposes your point of view does not mean they have personal issues with you, and I guess your tendency to interprete disagreement for war is what makes you attack every personality that does or say something different from you. Please grow up Mckren. I learnt long ago that it is only people with small minds that discuss about people. |
Truth has been bastardized to the extent that anyone can claim to stand by the truth when in the real sense such a person has been caught red handed lying. What can we expect from a pathological liar but another shit-load of lies. I am not too surprised because political correctness and lies go hand in hand. But wait a minute, this afamed liar is under the illusion of being born with all knowledge with no form of influence from parents, friends or teachers, and as such his lies may appear as the truth to him. Perhaps the reason why he has not been influenced by teachers is because he never went to school. What a classic example of humpty dumpty - all head but no brains, a waste of cranial space!! To present facts to substantiate his position is alien to him because in his disillusioned world, what he says is right irrespective of the facts and the truth on ground. He is so quick to forget that he just had to retract his recent lies targeted at my person, but of course, it is too much to expect him to learn from his past mistakes! And what a coward to address me without saying my name. |
@Mckren, You have simply declared war against Mckren, He seems to be picking wholes in my comments for the sake of it.Don't patronise yourself. When I see errors and I feel like, I correct them. This has nothing to do about picking holes in your statement. My allegiance is to the truth and not to a personality or country. I do not sacrifice the truth on the altar of political correctness. It is obvious from your statement above that you are the one involved in name-calling and character assasination. Rather than provide facts and deal with the topic at hand, you went on a tangent to smear a man who occupies a position you can only dream of and never attain. I do not have time to discuss people but issues and only if I choose to get involved. However, I still need to inform you that you have the liberty to continue with your smear campaign if it makes you happy. Who am I to deny you of your pleasurable indulgence!! |
@Solokay, The only way out is for a superior authority to remove themThe problem is that the superior authority is not morally superior and thus cannot remove anybody. |
@Mckren, They have to either liberalize the selection process or change the name of the Bank, because for me there is nothing world about this bank.I hope you will lead the charge to liberalize each country's contribution as well. Whatever is the history behind it has to change now. so that if the US President is economically inept as Bush is right now, world bank suffers it too?Don't you think you are just engaging in a smear campaign? Why can't we just discuss issues without getting into name-calling? The economically inept President you talked about has maintained a steady job growth during the time of war while the stock exchange is breaking its own record almost every week. More economic immigrants are coming into the U.S. more than ever and yet you could make such a statement. Please try to separate your bias from facts. |
@topic, I believe this is meant to be a joke and isn't reported as fact. Is it ![]() |
@Mckren, Well resignation is a personal decision, it is not the fault of Nigerians that a public official has refused to resign. There is nothing personal about the resignation. He was pressured into resignation by the board of Directors. It is like blaiming Nigerians that Atiku refused to resign when Jacob Zuma did.The case between El Rufai and Atiku are way different. Atiku was elected and can only resign if the electorate pressure him to do so. El-Rufai on the other hand is a political appointee and if those who appointed him have any moral standards, they should have either pressured him to resign or fire him immediately. |
@I-man, Thanks for that insightful piece. As usual, I will expect them to overlook the very glaring points you make and start feeding us with politically correct rhetoric. @Tornadoz, It is certain you will forever hold on to your views in the face of opposing facts. You talk about actions without looking at the underlying cause of each one. Isreal was negotiating with Abbas until Hamas became the senior partner in the Palestine Government. And while Isreal was withdrawing more from the borders, Abbas failed to control the activities of islamic Jihad who kept using the territories as a launching pad for missiles into Isreal. Isreal has shown uncommon restraint in the face of all these provocations. Right now, Hamas and Fatah are killing each other and Hamas is trying to bring Isreal into the equation by firing rockets into Isreal. Isreal has not responded in kind enough so as not to be seen as an agressor by people like you (not that it will matter). But in any case, it reminds me of Operation Desert Storm when Saddam was sending rockets to Isreal and Isreal did not retaliate because they knew the entire Middle East will still turn around and blame them. I believe they rightly don't care anymore. If you sow the wind by attacking them with Katyusha rockets, you will reap the whirlwind by an approprate military response. Again, you have not addressed Hamas Article 7 which you can't wish away and neither have you provided any scientific, archeological or historical proofs that the land belong to the recent immigrants we refer to as Palestines. And by the way, you put so much weight behind what Gideoan Levy has written yet you consider insignificant the words of Mohammed, the founder of Islam whcih provide the common ties between the people of the Middle East (Arabs and Persians alike). |
@Tornadoz, You keep dancing around in circles. The emphasis on Davidylan's response which is the same as what I also noted is Hamas' Article 7 which calls for the total and absolute elimination of the Jews - not just the Jewish State. How do you negotiate with people whose common resolve is to wipe you and your generation out? Gideon Levy's article is just what it is - his thoughts and conclusions. I am sure the only reason you keep refering to it is the fact that it serves your prejudiced purpose for now. Would you so much as give a thought to an article by a Jew of the same status who tells you something contrary to what you want to hear? I think not. You have no archeological or any scientific proof to validate the Palestines' claim to that land and neither can you trace the lineage of any Palestine to the fourth generation in that same piece of land, yet you have the audacity to claim that those recent immigrants should push the Jewish people into the sea - how wrong can you be?!! |
@topic, Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of His Saints. Psalm 116:15 |
@topic, This is no other than the work of Manchester United! Anything to win that FA Cup! ![]() |
@Tornadoz, So we should not trust the UN when it comes to Israel right. What of the International court of justice that also ruled that the land belongs to the Palestinians? Are they also kick-back taking self serving Oil loving terror cowards bunch of people. You and Davidylan quoted an archaeologist and I stated that the man though British was also a Jew. According to you we should ignore the UN, the International court of justice but believe Jewish archaeologist. This is laughable.A concrete evidence is a better testimonial to the veracity of a case than the eventual judgement by individuals who may or may not be influenced by political pressure, economic pressure or pressure due to terror. Davidylan just mentioned the ruling by the International Court of Justice granting Bakassi to Cameroun based on an Anglo- German agreement - how dreadful. One thing you have to understand about the justice system is that it is not always just (never mind the name). The rulings are based on laws which may or may not be just. For instance, a woman can go to court here in the U.S. or Europe and win the case to abort her baby because that provision is allowed by the law. But does that make her right? No. A Judge's ruling has to be consistent with the law and not justice!!! Why did they not take this archeological evidence to the international court of Justice. Wouldn't this proove once and for all that the land belongs to them? They did not take it there, because the eminent Judges there would not be hoodwinked.I have explained why this may not have worked in my response above. Do you also realise that the bakassi people are more closely related to Nigeria and speak a Nigerian laguage and declared they would rather be with Nigeria. Despite all these overwhelming factors, the Court still awarded Bakassi to Cameroun - that should tell you how limited the court can be. But in any case, can you provide us with a link to this cout\rt ruling you are talking about? It was actually not in response to Afam. You have the first post on page 2 and it was meant for @Tornadoz. You quoted Jeremiah 16:14, no where in that post did you imply it was meant for Afam. Sadly any post addressed to @Tornadoz, I assume the person meant me. Mind you am not a mind reader.Again, that I quoted the Bible once does not make that extensive. Try not to exagerate next time. Please go back and read that post again. I addressed it to "him who says he is a practicing Christian", that is a clear reference to Afam, and thank God he is intelligent enoguh to realise it and he responded to my statement shortly afterward. So once again, it was not addressed to you but to Afam, and I believe it is clear enough. Are you saying the Koran advocated the killing of Jews? HabaCan you then explain the following Hadith spoken by Mohammed and which is the Article 7 for Hamas: "The Hour [of Resurrection] will not come until the Muslims make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: 'Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!" How clear can this be? Also visit: http://www.pmw.org.il/tv%20part6.html |
@Tornadoz, Even with all these supposedly archaeological proof the UN still passed resolutions after resolutions affirming the land belongs to the Palestinians. The entire UN is wrong because ”it was rigged” is it.That is to tell you that the almighty UN is anything but a just organization. It is an agglomeration of politicians who are there to only play politics. The fact that those who should be enforcing the oil-for-food programmes were sabotaging it through kick-backs also confirms that the UN is manned by a bunch of self-serving people. Well, the entire UN wasn't wrong when they declared the Jewish State, but their fear of terror backlash as well as OIL is making them suuccumb to the blackmail of these Jihadists. I provided proof why I thought the archeological evidence was flawed.Your refernce was only to John the Baptist. There are several archeological findings in that land that points solely to Jews. Davidylan mentioned the wailing wall. That predates anything non-jewish that is on that land. What conspiracy theory, did you actually read my piece?Again this is a symptom of selective amnesia. Why limit your archeological evidence to this single "find"? How about the numerous others? What about the Herodium? Or do you expect us to start namning all these finds? Surprised you said that because I notice a lot of Christian undertones in your response, you quoted extensively from the bible.Extensively? The only time I've quoted from the Bible is in response to Afam who keeps wearing "I am a practicing christian" on his shoulder. Why are you so concerned about my quoting the Bible and yet you ignore the fact that the Hama Charter to kill ALL Jews is attributed to the statement by the founder of Islam - Mohammed. Again, a case of selective amnesia. You have turned Mariory into a Prophet as you all keep ignoring this basic issue. |
