Haha, ignorance is not an excuse kindly read the constitution and educate yourself.
Thank you sir, the non-ignorant one. The court will soon make a pronouncement and I will remind you of this post. Some of you are so uncouth, lousy and uncultured that it is not too difficult to envisage the kind of lives you live.

My brother the law is an ass. This line of thought was explored when they PMB was looking for how to nail Saraki who holds a dual citizenship. It was because there is a lacuna in our constitution that Saraki escaped. Aodoanka the former Attorney General of the federation and many other learned Silks have argued this issue in the past.

Oh, yes. He made it public. Go over the cross-examination of the LP witness (the US immigration expert) and you would deduce that much.

I think our law disqualifies anyone with dual citizenship
Unfortunately our constitution seems not to disqualify people with dual citizenship, where the person is a Nigerian by birth. As a matter of fact, it was because of that lacuna that Hamzat was emboldened to make that disclosure of dual citizenship prior to the election.
CareerRe: Understanding The Japa Syndrome And What It Portends For Nigeria by teepain: 7:40pm On Jun 22, 2023
Well the factors that have compelled the UK to loosen her border for Nigerians in particular and Africans in general are diverse. Researches have shown that two of the chief causes that were discovered as being responsible are BREXIT and COVID-19.

Prior to Brexit, the majority of non UK citizens that worked with NHS were EU nationals. With the Brexit situation, the migration laws and labour laws changed coupled with the fact that the Europeans that worked with NHS were leaving the UK because of the uncertainty attached to Brexit, a shortfall in the healthcare personnel arose. When you throw in the mix, the humanitarian crisis occasioned by COVID-19 in the face of already overworked NHS staffers, it became imperative for the UK to open her borders to more non-EU nationals especially from low wage countries like Nigeria.

D only good thing is dat d people abroad send back money.... D money can help drive our economy....

We are not using our resources both human and natural resources to develop our nation.... D literal meaning of Japa is to go and never come back..... Back then we go abroad study and come back to develop our nation... D country was still good then... But now it's d other way around

People have no intention of returning in 20 yrs time from now you'll start seeing a lot of Nigerian names especially in d UK..

So Mr Peter obi is very wrong on dis.. He is only supporting it because his wards are direct beneficiaries
I agree with your submission and I will only add the following:

1. The average Nigerian japarian, these days, is migrating mostly for economic reasons and gets employed mostly in low skilled jobs (care giver jobs, comes to mind) in the West. Making it difficult to transfer his expertise to Nigeria for any use.

2. The few that travel via the student visa route to the UK are mostly adults and only took that route to access visa and not for educational development. This explains why many of them farm out their assignments and dissertations to be written by 3rd parties. This implies that Nigeria shouldn't expect any knowledge transfer from this set of people.
CareerRe: Robot Customer Care Staff Spotted In A VI Bank (pic/video) by teepain: 8:15pm On Jun 20, 2023
N3TRAL:
AI must be programmed to comprehend Nigerian accent before it can work in Nigeria effectively.

The demeanor of the robot showed that it couldn't understand what the woman was asking. Without an alternative option of touch, the robot would malfunction 9 out of 10 times anywhere outside North America or Western Europe.
You don't need to programme AI to understand the Nigerian accent. You only need to train the AI model with different Nigerian accents and it would learn to comprehend. Perhaps training the robot with Nigerian accents is what you meant though.
PoliticsRe: Ogah to Obi, others: Support Tinubu & Put Nigeria first, You may win next time by teepain: 3:45pm On Jun 20, 2023
Angelfrost:
Yeah... But it is intelligent and mentally sound of Amobi Ogah to ask someone going through legit due process in court to withdraw a valid case because it is not in the interest of the sitting president!!!
This your submission is different from what the lawmaker said which I quote below:

“And that is why I always say, whoever that is on that seat, give the person that support until either court says otherwise or God says otherwise”

From the quote immediately above there is no where the lawmaker suggested that Obi should withdraw his case from the tribunal.
BusinessRe: Naira Float: Dangote, Abdulsamad Rabiu Lost $5.85bn, Say Bloomberg Index by teepain: 2:25pm On Jun 16, 2023
SmartyPants:
Every Nigerian lost a certain percentage of their net worth following the devaluation. It's just basic - your naira wealth would have been calculated using the official rate of 460 thereaouts - now that that rate is gone, your naira denominated wealth will be evaluated at about 750 to the dollar.
Well, in the past too when the official rate was 460 Naira to a dollar too, the whole of the country was losing too because CBN was subsidizing it by spending the national purse to defend the naira against the dollar. So, either way something must give. However, we have choice of allowing individuals to lose as against allowing the whole country's economy to lose.

When the news broke out here on nairaland about the demolition, majority of these Christian bigots and fools lamenting and abusing the governor now were happy and applauded the action because they too harbour hatreds for Ganduje. In fact, some even suggested that the governor should go ahead and erase all Ganduje legacies even though they are not from the State to know what politics is being played by the demolition.
But now that the reason the governor gave for the demolition is not appealing to them, these same idiots have turned against him.
It's better if people stop dabbling in what they have no knowledge about.
I observed that too. Some people are ready to cut their noses to spite their faces.

The way you handled the situation was the best way to have handled. If you had allowed sentiments to becloud your judgement, he will break somebody's head one day, then you will be faulted for going against HR policy on such issues. It can be sabotaging if we place bad attitudes above productivity. Some people might have seen you as harsh then but now even the boy will have realized you did him a lot of good and now he is better for it. Your kind of attributes is what Nigeria needs - objectivity
By the way, where did you learn of the quote on your signature, "The height that great men achieve.......". It was one of the quotes my late mentor made us to memorize and recite alongside "Four score and twenty years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation conceived in liberty ...". I don't want to believe that we had the same mentor!

I totally agree with you. Not leaving them to learn from their mistake was the OPM guy's undoing. You can't vilify Chicken Republic for enforcing work place rule then expect to be treated differently by the same boys.
You are spot on. I had the misfortune of dealing with a similar issue in the past. It turned out that a young man (production staff) had fought with a colleague who provoked him. I liked this guy because he was hardworking although he had a bit of street toughness. The HRM recommended their sack based on the staff handbook and I had to sign off because refusing to do so would have set a precedence and the gentleman wouldn't have learnt his lessons. Before he was served his letter, I had a one-on-one with him and told him he would be getting his letter but shouldn't take it personal and I made suggestions to him on how he could become a better person. We have been in touch and the guy is doing pretty well and he remains grateful.

So many things were wrong from the onset.

The first time I heard that some security guards were sacked because they danced on duty, as an employer I felt the action was justified. How do you dance on a duty that required alertness and focus? But due to sentiments and victim mentality, many people castigated Chicken Republic and called them all sort of unprintable names. The OPM guy also jumped on the clout, justifying the silly attitude of the boys, as a MOG, he ought to have chastised them but he made it look like they were victimized and rewarded their irresponsible actions. He is now the newest victim of the boys, they have brought negative attention to him, to the point of him so provoked, he is laying curses on them. He didn't tell them the truth about their bad work ethics, those boys became privileged and thought their actions were right. They feel they have attained star status and would not want to return home even when the man said he could not afford their upkeep in Cyprus anymore. Since they have become stars, let their fans donate money for their upkeep. The lesson here is, never justify bad behavior, it's a monster that comes back to bite the enabler.
You are a reasonable fellow. Most Nigerians lack discipline and they hate enforcement of rules. An employer of labour fired her hired hands for dancing whilst on duty and then some people turned these boys to emergency celebrities and therefore failed to allow the boys to learn from their mistake.

The OPM Pastor got onto the fray riding on the back of the social media frenzy. Now the boys have shown that they haven't learn from the earlier lessons by trying to use social media to 'blackmail' the Pastor like they once did to Chicken republic.

Before gold becomes valuable it goes through fire in the furnace. It is important to learn from one's mistakes to become better. As long as the lesson is not life threatening it can only make one stronger. Pity parties do more damage than good.

OGHENAOGIE:
if tinubu supported Yari he would lose... U think those senators are babies that president ll order them around or tinubu ll give PDP senators order on whom to vote..
He didn't have to order them around all he needed to do was to lobby them. The Nigerian President is a powerful office bordering almost on imperialism due to our kind of political arrangement. Hence, when a sitting Nigerian President lobbies a lawmaker, the lawmaker is most likely to defer to the President except for few.

Saraki got away with what he did in 2015 because Buhari did not express a strong preference but when he (PMB) did in 2019, he had his party's candidates.

Even Akpabio wouldn't say this. If Tinubu had supported Yari or any other contestant Akpabio would have been toast. The contenders that stepped down did so at the behest of Tinubu. If they didn't step down and they aligned with Yari, it would have been tight.

Obi won Lagos and Osun, two key Yoruba states in the presidential election and you somehow think the reward for those Yorubas that joined Igbos to vote against one of their own (Tinubu) should be hitting them back. It is asinine talks like this one that will make people to be wary of you people. Retaliate now, them no dey telli person.

Simply put, Zonal Intervention Projects (ZIPs), also known as Constituency Projects (CPs), are projects that are conceptualised and executed on behalf of legislators in their respective constituencies by contractors. They are capital-intensive projects that are executed across Nigeria supposedly under the watch of the members of the two houses of the National Assembly.
QED.
Bro this your post is relevant and applicable to only the federal law makers the senators and house of representatives members. Desmond Elliot is a state lawmaker and the state does not have such provision to the best of my knowledge. Although I agree with you that he isn't pulling his weight.

I don't think PO would have won.
Read that comment again. I wasn't theorizing on who could or couldn't win. My submission was that since the presidential election was a 3 horse race, any one who emerged as winner should have been expected to have the least percentage of winning votes compared to when we had 2 front runners.
PoliticsRe: President-Elect Bola Tinubu Casts His Vote (Photos) by teepain: 12:24pm On Mar 18, 2023

I am not talking about absolute voter numbers.

I'm referring to % of votes.

He has the least % of votes.

That is to say BAT won ~37% of total votes.
No presidential candidate since 1999 has won below 40% of votes — including PMB in 2019.
Any one of the 3 leading candidate would have won with the least percentage because it was 3 horse race as against the usual 2 horse race that we have always had.

Statisense is wrong.
Election is the major factor.
For the initiates of statistics and data science, we know that correlation does not mean causality. Statisense should have established causality so that they can make it make sense. Besides they should have done a comparative analysis against another election year and then look at the time series effect to detect cyclical or seasonal effects.
