Some Nigerians are dull fellows with low critical thinking ability and the crab mentality. They don't mind the house caving in with them as their perceived or imagined enemy is destroyed. I have never known you to be pro-Tinubu but see the way they are calling you names now because you disagree with them. We are just a pathetic people. Tomorrow they will call for solidarity when the shoe pinches them!

Young people who are in their formative years use this forum and if you think roasting of women is normal in the sight of these youngsters who pick their cues for acceptable codes of behaviours from places like this, I do not think so. I chanced in on this topic as I barely have the time for these shenanigans, so I will equally find it deplorable if any lady makes sweeping statements about men.

I just wonder about men who go about maligning women, is it that these guys are from motherless babies home? Like what the hell! For Pete's sake there are terrible people from each gender so need stereotyping on the basis of gender.

CrimeRe: Bolanle Raheem: ASP Vandi Pleads Not Guilty For Alleged Murder Of Lagos Lawyer by teepain: 4:30am On Jan 17, 2023
Hizzojay:
I knew it will come to this. I was equaling discussing with someone, sometime back, about this scenario of this man pleading “not guilty”. And of cos, he is not guilty of “murder”.

The State Attorney is very stupid for charging him with only one charge; “murder”. Which obviously the accuse will win this case against him. “Murder” wasn’t the best charge that would have been charged against him, but, “Manslaughter”.

“Murder” are always argued to have been premeditated before it was actualized. The prosecution won’t be able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the accuse planned the crime before he actioned it out on the poor lady.

Nigerian judiciary are just some useless sets of idiots. His lawyer obviously saw the loophole and requested he pleaded “not guilty” cos he knew he’ll be able to defend him.

The preferred allegations would have been “1st degree, 2nd degree and perhaps 3rd degree Manslaughter”. This, he wouldn’t have been able to plead “not guilty” to.
The prosecution is very much in order by charging him for murder. What they have done is to aim at the sky and whatever happens they are sure of landing on the tree. So they went for the crime with the greatest penalty knowing fully well that the least judgement they will get is manslaughter. Lagos State Government has actually won a lot of cases like this. Other state governments are not as active as LASG on issues like this and I wonder why.
CrimeRe: Bolanle Raheem: ASP Vandi Pleads Not Guilty For Alleged Murder Of Lagos Lawyer by teepain: 4:23am On Jan 17, 2023
It is good that this guy is being prosecuted. However, I must commend the LASG for prosecuting this guy. I am aware that the State Governments have great roles to play in circumstances like these and this is not the first that the LASG has done this, at least from my observation.

One wonders why other State Governments act as though they are helpless when such unfortunate incidences occur in their domains.

No one can accuse the DSS in this case of any media trial. As a matter of fact, the DSS spokesperson has not spoken much about the case at all. It is the newspapers and the people supporting the CBN Governor that have been in the News most of the times.

I just hope that justice prevails, if Emefiele committed any crime let him face the law and if he is innocent, may God protect him.
TravelRe: The Hypocrisy Of Anti Japa People On Nairaland. by teepain:

What the Bleep is wrong with Nigerians sef. U japa or not japa, if u re not productive, u will remain useless nd poor for life no matter ur location. Even in the US, UK,, Canada e.t.c. We have many jobless, poor and homeless people there. Why always painting ur country black in every given opportunity? U free to japa or stay but jst shut d Bleep up. Nobody is forcing u to leave or stay. Allow to that choose to stay have peace.
That part of your post in emphasis (emphasis mine) is the key that people need to unlock their productivity.

There are benefits and disadvantages associated with most stuffs and same is applicable to 'japaing' or 'not japaing'.

Some people who make their money from remote jobs earning forex may not be keen to 'japa' because it is beautiful to earn in $ dollars and spend in Naira.

Some others have thriving businesses that have grown big enough so much so that going start all over abroad may not make much sense to them. For example, there are people who send their kids money from Nigeria to America or UK for upkeeps. At least, I had a boss who did that until the son graduated and I know of a few people who still do that.

For some other people, the idea of moving to a much more functional society makes sense to them.

The motivating factors for individuals differ. Individuals should figure out what works for them.

But like you said, people should learn to be productive wherever they are: whether home or abroad.

You will find many people on this forum wasting their time posting scores of nonsense posts daily, when they could have figured out how to be more useful to themselves and their society.

So when folks spend all day on different social media fora discussing what nots, how are they suppose to make money? Well, except if they spend that time for content creation or any other online money making venture then it may make some sense.

Saraki became senate president in his second time as a senator (from 2015-2019) he was in the Senate from (2011 to 2015) as a floor member. As a first time senator, Oshiomole would not be able to serve as the Senate president, he will only be eligible by 2027 and that is if he remains in the Senate.

The replies to this original post are sickening and they betray the oppressive tendencies of many Nigerians. Now, I understand that an average Nigerian only complains about oppression if he or she is not one of the oppressors!

Harry deciding to leave his royal duties was a personal decision and why folks are pained about that decision is mind-numbing. His decision to speak up should never be queried as he is a free man who inherited the free spirit of the mum.

Your statement in bold fonts refers. No need to educate them on that, let them continue to do that. When the consequences come, they will realize their folly.

By the Grace of God, some of us have traveled and are still traveling without throwing mud at our home country.

People can travel without mudslinging their country of birth. Nigerian leaders haven't particularly done well but have the citizens been better behaved?

If you have any relative schooling in the UK now ask them how Nigerians are misbehaving right now. My young cousin was telling me how some Nigerians who just got to the UK made a care agency to lose its clients because some Nigerians would go to care homes with Alcohol for the night. No sense of professionalism.

This is not entirely true. Even while Shina was in APC, Quilox has been sanctioned in the past a number of times so this is not about any political witch-hunt. This is a routine action when residents complain and the club will still be opened. This is quite unlike the situation where the Government goes to demolish citizens' buildings indiscriminately.

You would be shocked at the true number of the Nairalanders there but most people have learnt to be more circumspect and they enjoy staying incognito. Don't be deceived with nonsense like; don't make excuses, the government can't help everybody bla bla bla. Forget it. Nigerians are extremely hard working people. Enable the environment with constant power, roads, and other pro development policies and see this country grow.
Yes government has a role to play but the citizens too need to play their roles. Nigeria has not always been bad at least. So what happened, when Nigeria was good? When there was free education up to the University level? Well, what happened was that Nigerians started gaming the system. They started giving birth with reckless abandon believing that Nigerian government will always provide and cater for the children.

I'm where I am today because I don't make or give excuses but you see Nigerian government? bunch of comedians...
Well this should be every Nigerian's goal, to be where ever they want with or without the government while staying clean. At least, you did and if you can any other person should be able to.

otipoju, its not everyone that can grab IT easily. Some, it can take years before they even understand Jack. My advise is, learn what you love to do and can understand easily so you can be a pro.
Almost anyone who can operate a phone can learn some IT and make money from there. IT is one of the shortest routes to making it out there. Again with IT, it is possible to do remote jobs unlike some other work that might require the worker's physical presence. People need to understand that some areas of ICT are easier to understand than others. For example, there are data analysts who aren't programmers but they make their own bucks too using tools like PowerBI and excel; although their growth may be limited. And there are UI/UX designers who make some tidy sums.

This is the undiluted truth. No matter how strongly anyone feels about any aspirant, democracy is a game of number. If you like call the presidential aspirants whatever name you like, whether it is 'blu bala blu', 'agbado cassava', 'Atiku' or 'Peter Obi', it does not matter as long as any of them is declared as winner of the election through election by the majority that is the end. Nigerian youths should stop being foolish by calling these guys names; they are made already and an electoral loss to any one of them will not change that fact. My own is that whoever wins, I will remain prosperous.
