If Gbadebo's claims are true, INEC officials should be jailed for tampering with the commission's results.

And if his claims are not true what should happen to him? I personally believe that I would allow the court process to run its course before I say anything on this presidential issue. But pulling figures from the air wouldn't serve any good purpose.

1. No experience in politics or civil service. His own is even worse than that of Minister Kemi they appointed to handle our economic policy with no prior experience of the dynamics of African and Nigerian economies.
2. Some of his media posts have been polarising. I can make the argument that it is his social media handler. However, it is on him for appointing a non-Yoruba social media handler that is either a bigot or someone that enjoys posting recklessly.
3. He can't speak Yoruba. How is he going to connect to the grassroots? This might not be a big deal, but unfortunately, Nigerians are still very tribal.

It is so disappointing, it would have been interesting for the future of Lagos politics to have a worthy contender against APC.

Point of correction, Kemi Adeosun had experience as Ogun State's Commissioner of Finance before she was appointed as a Minister.

I will be voting for Babajide Sanwo-Olu but I wish Gbadebo Chinedu good luck at the polls. I see no reason why I shouldn't vote for Sanwo-Olu, he is young and he has performed well. According to the Americans, "no need fixing it when it ain't broken".

why is everyone putting pressure on inec like these? I think this is the most credible election I have seen so far for LP to win Nasarawa state and has a responsible votes in kaduna and adamawa. But everyone is still shouting rigging with everything on ground. Truly most people are tired of APC but the greediness of A.A not allowing power to shift to the south which lead to obi joining LP gave power back to APC without stress.

Though Inec on there part failed Nigerians by not transmitting results from the PU but that does not mean the election was rigged

God bless you. If AA, Obi and Kwankwanso had stayed together with the G5 governors this election would have been over by now. But, now they didn't listen to the voices of wisdom and they are losing they want to set the country on fire. No need to advise any misguided youth. Once, INEC declares anyone the winner let them go on the streets and the law enforcement officers will be there to do their job.

Just now I look through my window saw two young Kogites discussing about the election. you will see the bitterness in them. What were they saying? That they knew who they voted for;Obi. But their vote was given to Tinubu. "We don't want him and we are tired of them. we cannot allow that to stand" in their voice. I was just looking at them through my window. it was so pathetic. How did the 2 Kogites know that their votes were given to Tinubu? How did they identify their votes from the many votes that INEC announced. Are they saying that because they voted Obi, they assumed that every other person did? Or could it be that they were so close to to the polling booth to see who every other person voted for?

At this juncture, it is almost becoming statistically impossible for Atiku to win. Tinubu already won Jigawa and Kwara states even though Atiku won in Akwa Ibom. The big Northern states are almost done with the exception of Kaduna. So there aren't many Northern states where Atiku can see those huge votes again and so far so good it appears that he is not pulling his weight much in the south because of Obi. If Atiku, Obi and Kwankwanso had remained together in PDP, PDP would have been winning this election by now.

People don't seem to understand that in undermining the Supreme Court, this President has set a very dangerous precedent that goes to the very roots of the country's legitimacy as a constitutional entity. Other Presidents are likely to do same in future.

We are going to be plunged into stagflation by this. The policy will not address the inflation, it will affect the country’s production and cause unemployment to further increase.

The CBN fiscal and monetary policies are naive. Economists in our higher education don’t give a damn, they are yet to settle their debt. Nigerians didn’t stand by ASUU, and that intellectual defense line, has no incentive to coherently give a comment. ICAN is spent as well. The current leadership of the institute wants ICAN to be like ANAN , and they are all about giving the certificate for money. They currently have a proposal to allow those GL 14 and above in the civil service accounting roles to pay #1.4 Million, to skip over 90% of the institutes exams and get the certificate. Rather, than maintain rigorous and integrity and hope for a competent administration, they’d prefer to impair the quality of the institute so they can be here and there in a public sector that currently don’t serve Nigerians. The public sector should defend us against the private sector and against international economic adversaries. It should require success in the most rigorous and intellectually exerting experience to hold such position, but it’s not so here. We cannot have CFAs or really grounded ACAs in the sectors and our currency will continue to deteriorate, but even now, the last standing indigenous institutions are willing to trade their credibility for a seat at the table of the powerful incompetent and clueless lots. There is perhaps none, not already infected, to provide coherent advise to the clueless administration.

To become an economic adviser to the CBN governor, it’s not even a question of competence. It’s all, a question of interest.

The CBN must be a government institution for the people. All through the Buhari administration, it wasn’t.

The CBN made billionaires out of bureau de change operators. It may have been the naive viewpoint that the Naira falling extremely hard against the dollar would incentivize folks to produce more for export and so improve the country’s GDP and increase the demand for Naira- thereby strengthening the Naira, but then again as Friedman said, we don’t judge such policies by their intentions but by their results. Nigeria and Nigerians has gained nothing and has lost now and also lost in the long run.

It’s the same with these monetary policies. And why it’s because such policies are naive. It looks like someone making national economic decision just by reading an introductory economic text with no idea, that other economic actors or adversaries are capable of responding and undermining your intentions. Except, the policies are grounded, rigid in implementation, flexible in responding to the adversaries reactions, framed with anticipation of such adversaries responses; except, even the best intended policies will fail.

The corrupt politicians have access to dollars. CBN don’t think dollars can be used to engineer electoral malpractice?? Tinubu or Atiku or Obi will emerge. The lots have an interest in the continuation of the old currency. Emefiele is assured there will be a reversal, but political intents drives him, to make an impact in the short term and at what cost?? Putting the rest of us, pawns in economic jeopardy.

It didn't take them a week to print the billions of naira which Obaseki attacked the finance minister for, which they all denied before they accepted the fact that they actually printed more naira notes. No sane leader would see the way money was changing hands during the primaries that won't do what Buhari is doing now. The economy wouid be run down should tinubu or atiku win. See dollar rains during primaries. With that, anyone can wonder what they'd turn Nigeria into, should they get there.

Let me assume without conceding that your assertions are true. This assumption is made in good conscience as I do not have facts to negate or support your claims. But be that as it may, anyone supporting this policy because they think it would hurt is only being stupid and I say this advisedly.

First, with this Emefiele's policy what he has done is to magnify the the poverty that has pervaded Nigeria before now. This is so because the ordinary man has been denied purchasing power. Without the purchasing power, you are magnifying whatever monetary inducement any politician will offer the masses. Because the CBN has made the Naira scarce, it has equally made it more valuable. So, in ordinary times where the masses may be induced by say "N5000" hypothetically, the poor man would be induced by say "N2000" because of the scarcity that has shored up the value.

Second, like I did explain to someone on another forum; politicians are not limited to using cash inducement alone. They use packed groundnut oil, foodstuffs, and other gift items which they can still use if push comes to shove hence this policy is not likely yo curb vote buying.

Third, because the wealth creation ability of a nation and in fact any entity including does not depend on the absolute amount that the entity owns at a point in time but on the velocity of money, described as the rate at which money changes hands. What CBN has done to this economy cannot be reversed in the next 5 years.

The fact that Emefiele and Buhari are using this policy to fight perceived political enemies shows their lack of capacities and it explains why the country is the way it is at the moment. If they could not devise better thought plans to curb vote buying in the last 7 years and this is all they could come up with, I just sympathize with Nigerian masses!

This is by far the worst CBN Governor EVER.

One of the major problems of Emefiele's appointment is his lack of capacity. In most countries, you do not appoint a non-economist as a CBN governor. Every decision the CBN governor makes, has both macro-economic and micro-economic implications. With the contrived cash crunch, Emefiele has set this country's economy back by about 5 years. With that singular cash policy, the Nigerian economy was literally "paused". Flow of money, either paper or electronic, drives commerce and trade and commercial activities in Nigeria has been very slow lately because of the cash crunch.

Pray, how do you enforce cashless without stable infrastructures such as network? I had to bail out my cousin whose child needed medical intervention. Guy, effected a transfer of #72000, he was debited but the hospital was not credited and they refused to attend to his daughter. Abroad where you made reference to, I have never swiped my card for transactions and get an issuer inoperative or issuer unavailable stupid message.
