ishiamu:Haba this line of thought is an all time low! PDP like APC, MTN is a body corporate having a legal personality which makes it possible for it to sue and be sued . It is a matter of fact that when a Chelsea FC wins the league with players that has just joined the club from other clubs, the win is that of Chelsea and the trophy is the club's. It is a fact that PDP destroyed Nigeria for 16 years and some of the key players are now in APC however the fact that a player didn't perform in a club does not mean that he can never perform in another club. Whether or not a player performs would depend on the philosophy of the club, the coach, the corporate vision and mission as well as other factors. Whether APC performs or not will be judged after 4 years and the electorates can then give a judgment of PASS or FAIL at the polls! You guys should stop demarketing PDP for 2019 is around the corner. Who would vote for a party that claims not to be responsible for the actions of her members when in fact they are her agents?! |
Mee234:From the original post we can deduce that the groom was not aware of the practice of shoe removal. And on the spot, he could have sensed something wrong or diabolical in the request hence his refusal. Do not be deceived not all churches are of Christ these days! |
mazeltov:The very few examples you highlighted underscore the inclination of PDP towards hypocrisy. Obuah never condemned the PDP senators who escorted the Senate President to CCT for his trial for corruption. I maintain that PDP has not discovered why they lost the last elections. I pray that a new set of leaders who can lead PDP aright emerge in the interest of democratic pluralism. |
Raiders:Are you suggesting that NCC should overrule itself on a fine that was in existence prior to when MTN wilfully violated the agreed terms to which all operators were parties? If this is done to help MTN how would you compensate other operators who complied with NCC's directives? How do you intend to compensate families whose loved ones are kidnapped (some of them killed in the process) because your beloved MTN refused to comply with the directive of a regulator? It will be interesting to read your perspectives on these few points that I have raised so that we can holistically look at the issue |
Episteme2:Does the PDP as a party not want to warm its way into the hearts of Nigerians. I think the party is going about the wrong way and that they haven't learnt their lessons from their last electoral loss, which should have suggested to them that Nigerians have become wiser. How do you explain the position of PDP on Amechi vis-a-vis the party's position on the following: 1. That Saraki should not be tried and while being tried he must remain Senate President (in fact, a couple of them served as his body guards to his trial) 2. That Buruji Kashamu should not be extradited 3. That the trial of former NSA, Sambo Dasuki is witch hunting 4. That Akpabio can remain minority leader despite the several allegations hanging on his neck If the party holds the positions above on the basis of presumption of innocence, why are they not extending the same courtesy to Amechi, especially when the issue was in court. It is trite that you can not approbrate and reprobate at the same time. How more unprincipled will the present PDP get. Pray, does it not smack of crass stupidity and Political tomfoolery to preempt the court of law: Ministers do not enjoy immunity (and I very much doubt if a minister undergoing trial will enjoy the the escort services of fellow ministers as was witnessed with the senators), I will therefore encourage the PDP to bring any documentary evidence of financial mismanagement to the relevant agencies and make it available for the public to ensure follow up rather this resort to political gangsterism. |
Mogidi:How come GEJ won in 2011 even with the allegation of child voters in the election of that year? PDP ruined itself and until the party realized that, then it may be difficult to repair the UMBRELLA. So far so good, the party has blamed everyone and everything for its fortunes but sadly the party hasn't blamed itself! |
ijustdey:This is pretty sad and it reminds of Dele Udo, a promising Nigerian athlete who was killed in cold blood, reportedly by some trigger happy policeman way back. It is an accident waiting to happen when we leave the police force with touts and nitwits. The brainy ones among the police are very few right now, as a matter of urgency our govt needs to reposition d d force to attract great minds. RIP to the fallen heroine |
TonyeBarcanista:Very apt response. If we, the masses, unite against these thieves looting our common patrimony then Nigeria will be on the path of greatness. The thieves come from north, south and they are never divided in their pursuit of looting our common wealth. All thieves from Yoruba, South South, South East and Northern Nigeria should be brought to book. The 'polithievians' do not show us mercy when looting us; they deserve no mercy. |
lawanson44:You can critique the government and even the President. But while you do it, be guided not to run foul of the laws of the land. Inciting violence and bodily harm against the President is not a wise thing to do, a word is enough for the wise. Stay blessed! |
adeyemi2015:When I heard Akpabio made that statement I was shocked to the marrow. Bad governance does not deserve being partisan, at the end of the day all the people bear the brunt regardless of party affiliations. |
engrsyer:The last time I checked the youths we had in the past like like Dimeji Bankole, Salisu Buhari et all disappointed us. Let us make competence the prerequisite for appointments and not age. I tell you for a fact, that we the youths of today need to change our value system before we can provide effective leadership. God bless us all. |
INTROVERT:While we may not know the definite reason for waiting 4 months before releasing this list we can only hazard some guesses. And just maybe he needed the security agencies to clear some of the nominees. He might have requested the agencies to confirm the veracity of some of the allegations levelled against some of the would be ministers. |
@op, your observations are well thought out let me add that the Chinese are the ones who practise this 'help your kith and kins to the U.S' the most. As a matter of fact, I have noticed that if care is not taken they may overrun the original Yankees. All around UC Davis and San Francisco you find them in droves either studying or working. However to adopt this style for Nigerians, we must: 1. Improve the level of trust we have in each other because a lot of people have gotten into some deep shit trying to help a brother 2. Nigerians must endeavour to set up businesses rather than taking up paid employment cos that way u might find it easier to employ other Nigerians. 3. We must equally desist from the fast lane cos America is an unforgiving system when it comes to criminals, once you have a a criminal record, your chances of living a good life are slim not to talk of helping someone else. |
While I appreciate the work that Fashola did in Lagos i would appreciate if he is excused from this list pending the investigation of the alleged corruption by the agencies empowered to investigate such. However, while I appreciate the whistleblowers' role being played by CACOL in this case, I do not understand why it is difficult for CACOL to campaign for Bukola Saraki to step down as the Senate president while undergoing trial for alleged corruption as well. |
maestroferddi:I advise you not to put your life on the line for some of these criminal politicians, I personally wouldn't do that! Having assumed the improbability of Diezani stealing the alleged amount, what would you do or say if she ends up pleading guilty to the offence. Recall that right here in Nigeria, Ibori pleaded not guilty to the same offences to which he pleaded guilty in the UK. |
tayo52:Hello @tayo52 can you provide the details of the guy in charge of brewery waste in Ibadan. I earnestly await your response. Thanks. |
ARKdiscloser7:Perhaps Saraki is devil personified, that may explain why they were stoning him. This guy's actions in Societe Generale Bank led to the death of a lot of depositors; destinies were cut short. It is a pity! |
warrior01:Your previous post on this thread suggests that you are a reasonable person. I do not recall that GEJ was vilified by anybody in his 100 days in office. Matter of factly, he enjoyed the support of nearly all till electioneering time. Perhaps, our people need to learn to support anyone in power until election time because when they fail we all fail. Those who wish the current government failure are just plainly stupid, unpatriotic and imbecilic. It is tantamount to wishing away 4 years of one's life. God bless you. |
Nonybb:Not everybody can and will like PMB, opposition is a very necessary ingredient for a vibrant democracy. However, opposition only ridicules itself when they cannot criticize the PMB government objectively and intelligently. For the avoidance of doubt all livestock farmers know that the number of your animals can increase in the following: 1. Your existing animals can give birth leading to an increase 2. You can acquire additional animals, between the last head count and the most current head account, for fattening operations or for increasing your herd size through mating 3. You can be given additional animals (even though, chances of this is remote in a commercial operation, it cannot be ruled out) In summary, I support the criticism of the current administration, and any other one at that, but the criticism should be intelligent. |
Bhanjea:God bless you for this piece. The more people attack this PMB without basis the more the man becomes popular. Even PDP party stalwarts didn't accuse the man of being corrupt in the heat of the last presidential campaign; trust me, if PDP had any evidence suggestive of corruption against PMB they would have unleashed it on him. |
4stylz:If you can't show some empathy you can at least keep quiet; stop the stereotyping please. May evil never befall you and your household IJN. Amen. |
Firefire:Very sensible comment. Firefire, u nailed this particular one. You will be shocked that even the suffering masses are so set in their ways that they would wish away this anti corruption fight if they could! But the war on corruption is a must, if Nigeria must move forward. Lecturers exploit their students, Policemen extort money from the people who pay their salaries, market women and men create undue artificial scarcity to the detriment of their fellow masses. I can go on and on, it is pathetic! |
Dygeasy:Matter of fact, the wife of the President can leverage her position to attract funding from multilateral and other donor agencies such as UNIDO, UN Women, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to finance her pet projects; especially when the projects focus on women and youths. We just need to continually think out of the box! |
This is grossly unfair! Why and how can the people strip these 2 men naked? At least they have been stealing goats and Rams since 1900. They should have started with the people that stole Rams and goats since 1900 otherwise this is SELECTIVE JUSTICE! |
What I know, by deductive reasoning, is that FFK is a grossly irresponsible man! And I say it advisedly, considering the fact that he went online sometimes ago to throw jabs at Bianca Ojukwu and make jest of their sex escapades. Who does that in this age? Kissing and telling! Disgusting fellow. |
This Dokpesi Guy does not cut it at all, why owe your workers when the company has not filed for bankruptcy!? I recall the other time when Nigerian masses donated their hard earned money to resuscitate the supposedly burnt AIT/Raypower entity. Nigerians (yours truly inclusive) were simply taken for a ride, but I hope the scales have since fallen off our eyes. The workers should head to the court on this issue, it is unfair. |
PassingShot:Don't mind them. Odi people would never pray for their enemy to see the wrath of a sitting Nigerian President. Who is Tompolo when we are talking about the C-in-C. I pray for peace in the Niger Delta because if some people incite violence there, the innocent would be the worst hit |
chukwudi44:I am not whining here. People on Nairaland were commenting on the proceedings of court and you guys were querying the rationale behind investigating an allegation of doctoring the senate's rule. Let the court adjudicate on this matter; it will enrich our jurisprudence! |
Why would people not leave this illustrious Igbo son alone. The man merits the office of the NNPC GMD so what the heck. |
anonimi:If he probed them, history will have vindicated him and the nigerian masses would have been on his side. Besides, if he was scared of stepping on toes he didn't have to be president. If you don't like the hazards of a job you shouldn't take it. |
PRYCE:I consider it idiotic for the PDP people not to have approached the court if they have verifiable evidence that PMB forged his WAEC result to become the President. Until the PDP does that I will keep seeing them as an enemy of Nigeria and Nigerians. You cannot have information on a crime as grievous as forgery by a political leader and not proceed to the court. |
Gondonu:And if Buhari's certificate case was not followed with speed with GEJ as the president, who should be blamed? |
