stupor: I'll speak the truth at all times because that's what the scriptures say !
I think I remember the same Scriptures told us to "Judge not, lest ye be judged". Yet here you are, basking in your 15 minutes of fame, happily condemning another man (who you do not know, whose psyche or present condition you do not know). You sit there all supercilious and proud, gleefully casting aspersions on the fellow and branding him a 'nuisance to the public'. Who the heck are you to say that of a man who did not display any iota of violence and unruly behaviour while you were there? He was not driving, or fighting or anything of the sort.

The least you could have done was to give the seller his bag with all his extremely valuable original credentials for safe keeping so they will not get stolen with the bag or completely ruined by water.
Sadly, you represent the face of the modern Nigerian Christian who has long since forsaken the Gospel of love Jesus preached.

chucky234: You were one of the first people to buy SGS3 in Nigeria but I was one of the few people that imported the SGS3 into Nigeria,do you see how stu:pid you are?
Galaxy S3 was released May 29th in Europe...I bought mine in Central London less than a week later. I didn't have to wait to 'import' it. I exported myself grin
But this argument is immaterial, isn't it? I had my GS3 before you and I've used a GS3 longer than you have. So STFU.

chucky234: You claimed to have used all iphones,SGS3 and One X without evidence, but I said I have used them and you can find evidence on the NL phone ad section.
I started the 'iPhone killer apps section' thread...you know, the one that has been stickied in the Phone section since forever. That thread has since surpassed 100 pages of solid discussion before It was reposted anew in line with Nairaland's rules. The initial post I made showed Playstation emulators running on the first generation iPhone from 2007. On Nairaland I was well known as one of the most fervent proponents of the iPhone in the early years.
When I bought my One X, it was still yet to reach Nigeria in large quantities. I posted a Photo of it in the 'Android, Anyone' section. Anyone can easily verify that.
WHen I sold my One X and got the Galaxy S III, I announced it on the Android thread...and everyone who knows me knows I have loads of similar gadgets.

Bottom line is, I have extensive hands-on experience with most of the tech i talk about...and unlike you I can easily comprehend written English.

chucky234: I have been importing high-tech phones for over five years and has been one of the consistence sellers on NL for the past three whole years,I just bought 20 pieces of the Samsung galaxy pocket from Samsung at the rate of N18,900 per unit then decided ti sell them out to NLanders for N17,000 per unit.
I have sold laptops on NL at unbelievable prices that's because I was the West Africa sales manager for an American tech company for three years and you foolishly think my appointment was a fluke.
So tell me what makes you think you know jack about tech
So you sell gadgets. Big deal. So do nearly 5000 other sellers in Ikeja computer village. It doesn't make you knowledgeable in that subject matter at all!
I may not be all-knowing about tech, but I can easily see from your comments that you're hopelessly behind and absolutely clueless on how to separate manufacturer spin from real-world performance.

chucky234: You keep talking about 2gb RAM and GPU and CPU, benchmark and yet claimed to know shit about tech,I still repeat that the One X is a better phone. If you mention benchmark PI then take the One S as it flop both the One X and S3 in that regard.
There's a reason the One S is not the HTC flagship device. It has better CPU performance than the One X but falls measurably behind the Galaxy S III's Exynos chip. As far as GPU performance is concerned, Galaxy S III (Exynos Mali 400) > One X (Tegra 3) > One S (Adreno 225)

As I said before, you don't know what you're talking about.

chucky234: All your empty ideas were copied from the internet where junkies analyzed phones they never thave the opportunity to use,my argument are solely based on user experience.
So reviewers at TheVerge, CNET, Engadget, Anandtech et al didn't have the opportunity to use the GSIII and the One X? Hilarious.
Shebi you said you have access to the phones na? Oya, run all the standard benchmark suites (vellamo, Sunspider, Antutu etc) and report your findings here. I'll show you that your rhetoric is as empty as your skull.

chucky234: Sure, the S III has a bigger battery (2100mAh), but
the Exynos chipset clearly lacks the extra
power-saving core of Tegra 3 while the One X has a power-saving fifth core to backup its battery which guarantee a long usage duration.
The polycarbonate boby of the HTC One X eclipsed the glossy plastic body of the S3, the HTC sense UI is amazing.
The music experience on the One X with the Dr. Dre beat audio earpiece is unrivalled not even the Samsung TouchWiz can beat the Sense UI, the 3D performance of the One S is also better than the One X and S3.

LMAO! Another sheep who bought Nvidia's BS. As far as battery life is concerned, the tegra 3 powered One X is by far the weakest of all the flagship devices. Go read the Anandtech review...the Snapdragon S4 North American variant absolutely destroys the Tegra 3 variant in battery life terms. The Galaxy S III has a bigger battery with a more efficient SoC so it delivers a much better battery life.

It's not hard to see why. The GS III's Exynos chip is manufactured using a 32nm process, compared to the S4's 28nm process. tegra 3 comes in at a larger 40nm process. I'm sure I do not need to explain the correlation between manufacturing process and heat generation and hence battery life to you, o great techie cheesy

The One X looks better than the GS III, but then we're discussing PERFORMANCE here, aren't we? Any advantages of looks the One X has over the GSIII are negated by the lack of expandable storage options and the non-removable battery.

Finally, the 3D performance of the One S is the worst of the bunch (Adreno 225). the Tegra 3 in the One X is quite good, but it is substantially outclassed by the quad core Mali-400 in the Galaxy S III. Heck, the GSIII's GPU even beats out the GPU in the iPhone 4S...and that was way better than Tegra 3 on its own.

In Summary, you do not know what you're talking about you newbie. Selling phones is no substitute for actually understanding what you read on the Internet. Please refrain from arguing with me or 4llerbuntu and you will learn.

jedisco: Its good you seem very confident. Well I'm interested in two things from your post.

1. How do you define the word powerful on a mobile phone? Is it based on the specs and paper benchmarks or on the ease and speed of usage as it relates to your use?
Would you consider a laggy dual core 100mb ram device more powerful than a single core 50mb device which is smooth?
Would you consider a smartphone with a higher battery capacity to have better battery backup than another smartphone with a lower battery capacity but longer battery life?

Does the power of a phone solely depend on the processing capacity?

To me, the use of quad core and large rams on android although good, is akin to attaching a loaded bus (android os) to a ferarri. Yes it may still function well but once in a while, the resource hungry bug shows its face. Now compare that to putting some load in the ferarri, its bound to move fast without occasional hitches.
I would prefer a smooth os like ios or wp running on good hardware to android running on excellent hardware.

I'm asking cos I believe that for a smartphone user who is crazy about taking pics, the most powerful phone is Nokia 808.
For a person who does not want a very large screen phone that works smoothly with little or no help, the most powerful phone is iphone 4s.
For a person who is social-crazy, a good internet user who still wants cheap internet rates, the most powerful device is one of the BBs.

2. Coming to the issue of apps. Since the last time android users after 7 pages were unable to give useful apps not present on symbian out of their 450,000 (apart from current absence of online video call), I became very weary about this app stuff. Especially since the symbian guys were giving cogent reasons and some useful apps. My conclusion is that majority of those apps are cheap repeations, viruses or spam.

Moreover, I've gone though threads of favourite android, symbian and bb apps and I begin to wonder where all the thousand apps are.

So I've come to a conclusion that once a certain point is reached in the number of apps, most things left are just recurring decimals. The only exception maybe some games. I take this point to be the 100,000 mark which wp has reached.

Moreover, wp market place has more apps for any given phone than symbian. So thesame rule should apply here

Although I don't use a windows phone, I've been to wp market place and I think I'm quite impressed with the number, quality and speed of growth (which BTW is faster than that of android)

Lastly, app developers (especially HD game developers) are willing to support windows.

In conclusion, I think the issues of apps when comparing android to windows does not hold water.
All this lengthy rhetoric...and for what? To argue a non-existent case?

Bottom line is, in terms of raw processing power and 3D graphics rendering, the SoC in the Galaxy S3 far outstrips anything in Windows Phone, surpasses the chipset in the iPhone 4S and blows away anything in any Nokia phone.

Attempts to say that the Symbian app ecosystem is anywhere nearly as rich as Android or iOS is just laughable. Most of the big name devs tend to shun Symbian these days...heck, why root for an OS that even it's principal sponsor (nokia) has no desire to use in high end devices anymore?

I think you really need to educate yourself on current high end Android devices. the days of leveling the 'laggy' accusation at top drawer Android phones are over. Windows phone may be smooth while whisking through the UI but actual app performance will fall way behind the GS3 or the One X. We see this bear out it browser benchmarks, time to open apps, open large files etc. Definitely there's no comparison when it comes to 3D gaming. I have never had a slowdown on my GS3...

please stop confusing 'best' with 'powerful'. The pureview 808 is the best camera phone but it isn't nearly the most powerful camera phone. I haven't used one before but most of the reviews talk about slow browsers, UI freezing and slow app opening times. Is that your definition of 'powerful'?

SGS3 OS 4.0 and One X OS 4.1,for you to even mention OS shows how clueless you are above tech.
Check the official comparism above before you continue to display your deluded clueless moronic brain in public
BUHAHAHAHAHA!

See this small boy. I have used every single significant mobile OS out there...and I am vastly more knowledgeable than you in tech matters. I was one of the first in Nigeria to own a Galaxy S3...I used to own a HTC One X which I sold off to a friend. I've owned and used every single iPhone since the original version and I have used a Windows Phone 7.5 device for well over a month.

Do not argue with me you mentally addled halfwit. I stopped reading your m0r0nic post when you claimed the HTC One X had an AMOLED screen grin

Pure and simply, the Galaxy S 3 is the most powerful Smartphone is existence. Its Exynos SoC easily crushes the Tegra 3 in both GPU and CPU benchmarks in the international versions. The US versions have the same Snapdragon processors as the One X but the GS3 doubles the RAM of the One X at 2GB.

Please find someone on your level to argue with. I'll easily crush you in any discussion on tech, hands down.

So hilarious to see these kids arguing among themselves.

Imagine folks comparing different phones and all someone could talk about is the hardware specs. Really?

Bottom line is, the GS3 is the most powerful phone on the planet now, and it's OS (Android 4.0) has a very vibrant ecosystem...it's a very solid buy.

The Lumia 900 is a gorgeous phone with a slick OS. It's not nearly as powerful as the GS3 and there are much fewer apps than the GS3 so that makes the GS3 a more sensible purchase.

But...contrary to what these kids here will tell you, the Lumia 900 is not a bad phone. It's an excellent , slick phone that owners love. there's a reason why the Lumia 900 has a higher satisfaction rating on Amazon Wireless than practically any other phone out there.

Let me not get started on security and corruption. By FAR GEJ's greatest achievement is that under his watch, a few hundred billion naira budgeted for 2011 subsidy payment ended up costing the taxpayer over N2tr.

US security services regularly haul in people who make demeaning or threatening statements on the web for questioning (or more). The Nigerian constitution is tailored after the US one, so why not do the same thing?

Lets just be civil and truthful.
The US SS will not haul in anyone for making derogatory statements about Obama. There's a reason why Palin can easily call Obama a 'socialist' and a 'failed president', there's a reason why the congressman that called Obama a 'liar' on TV was not arrested or 'investigated'. All the scorn he got was for showing disrespect to the office of the President of the US.

When the Dixie Chicks lambasted President Bush on British soil, they were not arrested or probed. There was public backlash and loads of death threats from 'patriotic Americans', so much so that even the FBI were protecting them at a point.

2. Leaving your kids at home while you go out and AFTER you've fed them and put them to bed...i fail to see how that would lead to 'starvation' or 'dehydration'...especially when you plan to return home that day.

3. I have no business with how they ran their home, you dolt! All i care about is that innocents are dead because of recklessness, in thoroughly avoidable circumstances. How is speeding and not wearing seatbelts related to running their homes? Every damn person in my car wears a seatbelt even if we're just taking a short jaunt to church.

dedeike: This pastor politician is just loosing it on a daily basis. Imagine a situation where a pastor is now suing for his grossly damaged reputation by a media house.
How will his followers be feeling in the light of this? Isn't it ridiculous, to say the least, that a " Man of God" now runs to court to save his reputation?
Bakare is not displaying maturity in his opposition to constituted authority. Christains tenets enjoins us not to be sore loosers.
For AIT, I don't have any sympathy for you guys. You have been confronted with nemesis for all the falsehood you feed Nigerians.
This time around, you can't hide under the cloak of govt persecution.
So demanding a retraction of falsehood aired on AIT is being a 'sore loser'?

So what if he is a 'Man of God'? He should not got to the courts again because of that? Who should he run to to save his reputation? You?

Why would a family take minors to a party that ended in the early hours of the morning? Why was the driver speeding? Why were the passengers not wearing seatbelts?

Very avoidable deaths...

kingoflag: “Did God go to sleep on us?” a participant in Saturday night’s festivities, Inno Chima, said Sunday as he stood on the sidewalk outside the hospital.
No. Common sense and regard for safety went to sleep on them.

Yes, GEJ plans to stop crude oil theft...by appointing one of the most successful Crude oil bunkerers and millitants as the man in charge of the waterways security!

Sometimes this man shocks me with his clueless comments!

You say people engaged in the act should hang their head in shame...yet in your budget this year you allocated more money to those people who were engaged in this act than to the entire Ministry of Health! This, despite increasing infant mortality rates, soaring HIV infection rate and now a resurgency in polio infections in the North.

Incompetence indeed!
Computers › Re: Inye: Made In Nigeria Tablet PC- How Far Can it Go? by texazzpete(m): 11:13am On Jul 24, 2012
AjanleKoko: Judging from the comments on here, it's pretty obvious that the tablet can't compete in the market. More likely it will go the way of other products that were better engineered and marketed, such as the Blackberry Playbook. Even the likes of Huawei and ZTE have pushed tablets (and failed) in the Nigerian market.

The reason is very simple: the target market (aspirational gadget users) will never buy this. I'd recommend the following for our budding entrepreneur.

1. Find a more accessible target market. I think his best bet is the education sector. Most schools are now big on computing.
2. Work on bringing the cost down. India has developed a $35 Android tab, for their educational sector. He should look at a cost somewhere between $100 and $150, all-in. He can get that easily in China, there are readymade products he can customize.
3. Use direct marketing. Trying to spend money targeting the consumer market with this product is not going to give him any traction. If he targets the plethora of private schools in Lagos alone, he might ship up to 10,000 units.
4. Bundle with a killer app/apps. The tablet on its own can't sell. If he's targeting education, it should be a bunch of educational apps that are exclusively available on his device. Even the device OEMs are going this route.
5. Tie up with a bank for finance. If the likes of HP and Samsung can do this (the old days of laptop financing), he should at least find a micro-finance institution that can back him. They can sell a package to schools that would include 3-6 months financing, upgrade options, etc.

6. The guy should hire a top notch technology marketing consultant. Someone like me grin
That's the point. he's a Nigerian...he got the tablet for around that $120 - 150 margin. He intends to sell at a massively inflated price to maximize profit. Asking him to slash prices will not work...his 'winning' strategy is to brand this chinese clone as a 'Nigerian' tablet to grab sales from gullible Nigerians and parastatals/government agencies.

but then again, Nigerians were m0r0nic enough to buy the cheap Starcomms 'MyPad' chinese clone for 70K from starcomms...
You guys are so clever!!! Where are the Ipad, Nexus, Galaxy and almost every other thing in this world manufactured..in the US? in Finland? Instead of supporting your own, you are here making judgements as if you have ever done anything worth recognition. As for me, I certainly would buy the tablet, if it is cheaper but as good as any other tablet. Especially if it comes with a warranty valid in Nigeria, and can be fixed by a trained technician in Nigeria.
I certainly see how scores of Nigerians can benefit from this low-cost, made-for-Nigeria tablet computer. Go ahead and buy your 75 dollar tablet and see if it can even connect to the Internet
You're so unintelligent.

All those devices are DESIGNED to the last nut and bolt in the US or South Korea by Apple and Samsung respectively. Then the finalized designs are given to hi-tech chinese manufacturers to assemble or manufacture for sale.

You want to compare that with tablets and phones designed and made by 5-10 employee 'factories' who have no stringent QA proceedures laid down and do not care for the quality of the finished product.

Keep parroting that intensely m0r0nic "all other devices are made in China" and remain mired in deep ignorance.

There's a reason why iPhones have the tag "Designed in California, Assembled in China" written on them.
