I think Cremation makes more sense...you get to save land that would otherwise have been 'condemned' as cemetaries.

I wonder why churches - that preach about eternal life and leaving our 'carnal' and 'earthly' bodies behind - should be concerned about what happens to the discarded bodies.
Business › Re: PHCN Has A New Way Of Extorting Money From Prepaid Customers? by texazzpete(m): 8:40am On Jul 07, 2012
dedeike: What PHCN is doing is in line with the multi year tariff order 2 (MYTO 2). It is designed to make our electricity tariffs cost reflective and attractive for private sector investments. It's part of the Transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The idea is that the old rate of N7.00/ kwh is far below the actual cost of production thus forcing govt to subsidize heavily and scaring away private investors from investing as it is difficult to recoup investments at the prevailing fixed tariff. On june 1, govt increased the tariffs upwards to N11.00 for R2 customers.

At this juncture, it is important to clarify the categorization of customers under the MYTO reforms. Poor rural dwellers/ low income areas who consume less than 50 kwh a month are categorized as R1. The middle class which is where majority of Nigerians fall under are categorized as R2. While the high brow districts like Maitama or Asokoro in Abuja or Bannana Island in Lagos are categorized as R3.

It is important to note that govt still set aside 100 billion to subsidize this tariffs for R1 and R2 consumers in 2012 and 2013. Instead of the initial N7/kwh paid by all under the old tariff order, R1 will now pay less at 4 kwh. R2 will pay N11.kwh while R3 will pay as much as N32 kwh. The R1 consumers will be exempted from all fixed charges and meter maintenance while R2 and 3 will pay a fixed charge of N500 monthly. This they say is production charges for generating power to the grid. Its like a sort of service charge which must be paid as far as you re connected to the national grid. The NERC maintains that fixed charges are paid all over the world and that of Nigeria ranks among the lowest.
These are part of the ongoing reforms in the power sector and from all indications, it's yielding fruits as many big companies are now indicating interest to participate in our distribution process because of the new tariffs.
Are you sure you're normal?!
Power sector reforms cannot be said to be 'yielding fruit' because 'big companies' are indicating interest. It can only be said to be yielding fruit when the average citizen gets at least 20 hours of power daily. Everything else is the same hot air and lies this corrupt and incompetent Government has been feeding us.

Oya, explain away the fixed charge of N500 even with the price increase.

na your choice of game no good, or na android no good?
Quick answer? Na you English teacher no good.

Dead Trigger is a fantastic looking game with boring, repetitive mediocre gameplay. That's totally unrelated to the fact that my 320dpi Galaxy S3 (and also my previous HTC One X) is not compatible with many apps I truly want. From GTA 3 to NBA Jam to Need for Speed and a few others, updates are required to the apps to support my device. Some XDA guys have been able to increase compatibility by using a tweak to change DPI to 240 or so, but i'm not keen on such an inelegant workaround.

I recall early adopters of the Galaxy Note had that issue too.

The sad part is that you actually think you're a Christian. In actual fact you're an idol worshipper...choosing to worship and elevate the words and behaviour of your Pastor over the clear steers from God in the Bible.

You will likely end up roasting the same hell you think you're warning people against.

Christianity Etc › Re: Stephanie Henshaw - Chris Okotie's Ex-Wife - On Their Divorce by texazzpete(m): 10:30pm On Jul 03, 2012
stagger: This woman should shut up.

The same God she is calling clearly said that if a man marries a woman who is divorced (in her case, twice divorced), he has committed adultery. The same goes for her.

Can a man mock God? How can she be calling God when the very union she shared with Chris Okotie is a sin before God? Did she not read the following passages in God's Word:

Hebrews 13:4

(Verse 4) Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

(verse 9)Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders (verse 10)nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (Verse 11) And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

She needs to have her head examined, and Chris Okotie himself should go before God and beg for mercy; the anointing has left him a long time and the tragedy is that he does not know it.
And the same Bible said "Judge not, lest ye be judged". Just STFU, you thrice accursed m0r0n!

I would gladly trade you in for such paltry gift. sit down and do some thinking. that's the problem with majority in Africa - thinking! thinking capacity is way less than zero! ask yourselves questions. the moment you realise that this shenanigans are out for their own gains, the better for you. these guys are capitalists - capitalising on every given opportunity to eke out wealth for themselves. this jalopy is way less than $6000, I'm sure it's not any where near $2000. have you considered the road worthiness of this wild cat-trap? whosoever manufactures this contraption in first world countries will be sued grin. but it's always GOOD ENOUGH for Africa. Yes! bring it on, no matter how sub-standard it is, Africans will celebrate it. they'll patronise you because they are the world's most miserable people and ready to take whatever garbage you sell to them. how long shall we continue like this? manufacturing this jalopy is no rocket science. if Africans organise themselves, even JSS3 integrated science students/jets club group can do better than this flimsy locomotive you are busy gloating about. saying that its the best for Africans because they have no good roads is more like adding salt to injury. meaning ..there's no need to embark on projects to develop our roads because the kind of tractors we deserve are here abi? and you are busy blabbing on NL supporting them na wa o! guy you dumb sha.
All this long post...and it becomes obvious that you have a serious problem...you struggle with comprehending simple English!

You say the vehicle is worth less than $2000. The article clearly states the prototype you see in that picture cost the guy $15,000+ to build. The $6000 is just a projected price he hopes to achieve when he automates and improves the process. Saying the vehicle is a jalopy and is not 'road-worthy' just from a photo is incredibly m0r0nic.
Perhaps that's why the man has had the balls to take his destiny into his own hands and make a difference instead of being a broke, imbecilic Nairaland commenter like yourself.

All through your long sermon, I wanted you to show me where it said this fellow was going to put a pistol to Kenyans head to make them buy the car. If he makes a vehicle that nobody wants, he won't sell, simple as that. Anyone who can afford $6000 is smart enough to evaluate the value of the vehicle prior to purchase. You'd better pray you r imbecility is not hard-coded into your DNA so you don't pass on the strain of doltishness to your offspring.

I don't know why Billyonaire is swallowing panadol for another man's headache. The PDP candidate is soldiering on with the election, he certainly doesn't see it as a fatal setback to his ambitions. Why are you whining here?

As Dayokanu has repeatedly tried to educate you, everywhere electoral votes and endorsements are sought with fervour. That's why religious leaders would be courted by Obama and Romney, exactly why Governors make political statements, exactly why influential blacks, rabbis and hispanic leaders are being courted. There is no law barring anyone who can sway votes from making pronouncements.

Tell me, was it then 'illegal' and 'unconstitutional' for GEJ to campaign for votes for Dickson of Bayelsa and Ohakim of imo state? You complain about the Oba's statement on the Oracle potentially scaring voters...is that any worse than a sitting President hinting heavily that a state would receive more federal attention for projects if a PDP governor is in charge?

4llerbuntu: Google finally released the latest version of its Maps app to Google Play today. Originally announced at a Google Maps event in early June, this update allows users to select and save a region of a map from more than 150 countries for offline use. In the new Maps version, users can save up to six large metro areas for offline use.

To utilize this, simply bring up the area of choice and select "Make available offline" from the menu to verify what you'd like to save. Maps then estimates the file size a user would be taking on and asks for confirmation before saving it. Google even notes that if you have GPS enabled on the device, "the blue dot will still work without a data connection so you know where you are, and if your device has a compass, you can orient yourself without 3G or WiFi connectivity."

The new Maps update for Android also includes an improved Compass Mode for Street View. Users will need Android 3.0 or higher, a gyroscope sensor, and version 1.8.1 of Street View on Google Maps to utilize this function.
Still crap from Google and several generations behind Nokia maps. Imagine my fury when i found out that you STILL can't navigate without a data connection!!
