@ theblesing and omololu - d guy is saying d fact
But who say the guy is not saying the truth?  In fact, you don't understand  where I and Omololu are coming from.

We mean his English grammar/writing skills are disgraceful for a graduate in that capacity.  Therefore, he shouldn't have any legs to stand on here and condemn Unilag 'First Class' graduates as he can't even hold two sentences together himself.

According to the Bible, one has to first of all remove the log in your own eyes to be able to see clearly in order to remove the pin in another man's eyes and that's the truth.  He shouldn't condemn them, when his own education is shady!

So, that's where I and Omololu are coming from, ok! Glad someone saw what I saw and shouted too!
RomanceRe: As A Student How Much Can I Give My Girl Friend Monthly by Theblessed(f): 12:36pm On Feb 03, 2010
Tell your friend to seek a beautiful but inexpensive girl that truly loves and cares about him and not a wallet snatcher else, this would ruin him.

Why can't she find a job?  And if a student, what's wrong in managing the little he is giving her plus the pocket money from her own family? What a greedy woman? A typical Nigerian greed! Always want more and more and more and more!!!!. We never get enough!  It's in our blood! Shame how we pass on this evil to our children!

Your friend should tell her to go to work or bagger out!! You see, if she is a creative woman, she would invest those 5,000 Naira she gets each month in something to sell in the open markets on w/ends and stop causing stress for your friend.

Your friend should now wake up and think with his upstairs instead of downstairs, got it? Good then!!!

I am also a graduate,All these first class it"s look some how to me,Is not easily to got first class in a school strict with exam, with a senior lecture"s,If they go school like U.I i bet those first class student wil fall into 2nd class upper or Lower, this is unsound.i don"t  belive UNILAG and reading like U.I UNI ILORIN & co
Boy, did you say you're a graduate? From which University and what did you study?

Hmmm! But I must say this, it's so irritating seeing a University graduate with very bad grammar, indeed!

In fact, you would have been forgiven if you hadn't told us you're a graduate or go pidgin instead. Your grammar/sentence composing skills needs some help here.  I'm sorry if I had hurt but that's the truth as I could not stomach it myself.

Yes, I understand English language is not our mother tongue but as a graduate, a lot is expected here.
Hope you do something about it.  If I may suggest, regular reading could help - read anything you see/observe the style/manner they are written/presented e.g. books, novels, Newspapers/Magazines etc and read regularly sure, it would be ok.

Cheers!

MAKING A FIRST CLASS IN UNILAG DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME. . . AT LEAST IV WORKED WITH SOME OF THEIR ENGINEERS AND THEY ARE LIKE BLAAA. . .I THINK UNILAG IS JUST A FUN SPOT WERE WE PICK UP CHICKS AFTER WORK AND MAKE LOVE TO THEM THATS ALL. . . HOW MANY OF THEIR GRADUATES ARE MAKING IMPACTS IN TODAY'S SOCIETY? APART FORM THE ENTERTAINMENT SCENE, I HARDLY SEE THEM IN OTHER FIELDS. BUT THEN, THE SCHOOLS I RESPECT THEIR FIRST CLASS GRADUATES ARE. . .
1) NSUKKA (UNN)

2) IFE (OAU)

3) IBADAN (UI)

4) ABU
MY OPINION THOUGH  grin grin grin
Guy, I agree with you to a degree!  Reason being, the backgrounds and history of these Universities - a British established Educational system you have to respect as it operates on the basis of, "If you work it, you earn it". Hard work, that's the British way!!! You can not get it if you don't work it and if you do, someone reports you  sorry, your a-rse will be up! You can not get it through the back door, period! Tell me, how could you get it cheap? By the time you finish writing one bloody Essay, and attend lectures/sign the attendance register each time you attend lectures (Argh!! 90% attendance o o remember plus your continuous assessment and end of year examinations before you could pass your course, chei!), you'd have known how difficult it is to SPELL Education grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin ;

Yes to a degree, the above Universities I think still maintains their original culture but I doubt, there are still pockets of corruption in all their Depts/Schools. So, they can not escape the damages caused to our Educational System as a result of corruption and lack of leadership!

As of the so called Unilag and their kind, I sorry for that College because, it's an American product, isn't ithuh??  Like father like son!  Everyone knows, American Educational system is so Shady! One can buy their degrees or pay someone to attend classes or examination for them, if they can't do it themselves. That's why, to whom it may concern, there's always a query regarding their Qualifications and Certificates. Too dodgy!!!!!

While you are free to say anything you like, I think your opening statement is contemptuous, even as the whole post is defeatist. Granted that our educational system has been bastardized, I think the few that struggle through the system to get the best of it deserve some respect.

I make bold to say that you can bribe your way to getting any grade, but not First Class. Having First class requires you to have A in more than 70% of your courses, from year 1 to year 4/5. Are you saying you can bribe all your lecturers, in every course, from year 1 to 4? I'm sure Nigerian system is not bad to the extent that 70% of the lecturers take bribe. Even with bribe, only few lecturers will give you A. People bribe not to fail, maybe to have a C, rather than failing and repeating a class or overstaying in school.

As regards First Class struggling outside, that is arrant balderdash. A First Class graduate that is worth his certificate will not struggle(baring any spiritual angle, like trial from God) and I'm sure more than 90% of them are worth their certificates.

I know tens of First Class graduates and have them as friends, and I'm not aware of anyone of them that couldn't find job. One of them has contributed to this thread and he is a big boy in one of the leading oil MNCs in US.
Hey guy, I refer to samir101ng comments on Yesterday at 12:16:31 AM

The guy is saying the truth ok!  I support him 110% and he can say it all over again.  It's disgraceful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have never in my life seen a University produce this number of 'First Class' graduates. To start with, Nigerian Universities haven't got the resources (finance, libraries, current and quality books, state of Art technology and enough/available computers in each School/Depts of these Universities to support this level of academic intelligence/wizardry among these graduates they claimed to have merited First Class.  Also, with their ASUU Trade mark, when did they get the time to teach these First Classhuhhuh  Hmmmm!!!  THERE'S A LOT TO QUERY and A LOT TO ANSWER TO, here! Shame!

In fact, to the blind and deaf person in the street, this act is overtly suspicious!  As we all know, no University in the World had ever done so but I ask, where else would this happen if not in Trashy Nigerian Educational system.

It can only happen in Nigeria, were elsehuhhuh

You can't sit down there telling me, there are Universities that had ever done so.  And if you do, I challenge you to point at them, let's check out their backgrounds? BRING THEM ON!!! Let's check them out! If any, it would only be  3rd World Universities - where else!

Goes to show what POVERTY AND LACK OF RESOURCES IN OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM can cause - manipulation of Degree results and it's only Shady people that would support this evil.  Shame!

So stop attacking the brother and own up to the truth that is right under your nose that way, we can change our Country for the best!

God bless you, Justice Opeyemi Oke! This is a marvellous and fantastic ruling. Whether they paid out or not, is irrelevant because they will eventually pay - no matter how long it took them to do so.  At least, the ruling has shown Nigerians they have rights they can claim on.

Hope, other Justices take a leaf from you and this ruling and thus, enlighten our people further, on their rights as well as the boundaries those intoxicated by power in our country must not cross.  Human Rights are violated every day by these people without anyone paying for it i.e punishing them and compensating their victims appropriately as a way to relief pain and alleviate suffering/poverty for the victim.

Hope, all the three Armed Forces including Nigerian Police learn their lessons from this!

Thanks M'am!!!! wink wink wink wink wink
EducationRe: 87 Students Bag First Class In UNILAG by Theblessed(f): 4:48am On Jan 29, 2010
Hmmmm! Give me a break! Nigerian Degrees? Believe you me 90% of those First Class degrees are all fraud.

Imagine, a friend's relative now living in New York got a "First" from that University without even lifting a finger let alone a foot and not to talk of burning a lantern - they paid their way through. How come, I hear some ask? Half way though their courses, they won American Lottery and had to leave before it expires that's how and that's the nature of Nigerian degrees, should I be asked.

You see, one can buy it from anywhere in the world so long as you have the money. Shame, everyone is aware of this corruption/fraud - favours, bottom power, money power that are so inherent and long absorbing our Educational system but, nothing is done about it. Shame, Shame, Shame!!!!

Thus, the reason Nigerian degrees are trashed in the bin in the West 'cos they are not credible - Nigerian students are sent back to classrooms to get brushed up before actually embarking on the very course they came to study, and that can be very costly and frustrating for most of them.

And, who is to blame? Glad we all know, who! Therefore, a 'First' in such environment does not really prove ones academic wizardry. In fact, I have huge respect for those with a 'third' as I believe they actually 'Read and did all the hard work themselves' than anyone with a silly 'First'.

So, anyone with a First from these Universities should hide away if I were them 'cos them/their 'First Class Degrees' are nothing but fraud and thus, lack credibility. Therefore, should not mention about it anywhere/in the midst of intelligent people, I must advice yet, I congratulate a few that got theirs through hard work!

Hell, no! And why would loving parents ever do that? Is it because of frustration or what?

Well, I must warn parents who do so to better watch out as the seed they sow will germinate soon to haunt them - eventually children will grow up and you won't know what hit you.

Keep doing it if I were you but time will tell!
RomanceRe: Will You Marry A Call Girl For Any Reason? by Theblessed(f): 11:22pm On Jan 23, 2010
To start with, we have all sinned and fall short of God's glory!.  Besides, all sins are equal and bears equal punishment - he who has never sinned, let them cast the first stone, period!

Be you a prostitute o o , murder o o , an arm robber o o, a 419 o o, a rapist o o, a liar o o , a false witness o o, dis-respecting your parents o o or whatever, once you break the TEN COMMANDMENT you are a sinner so don't judge others! Whatever led her into that kind of lifestyle we might not know but it must have a lot to do with necessity and poverty! We all have to survive somehow!

So, go ahead and marry your women, irrespective of what anyone think or says - It's your life so, do what you please with it! You see, that's why, Oyibo people seem to have much easier life than we do.  We live our lives worrying about what others might think of us but, I say who cares if you drop dead here, no one!  And there you are worrying about what people might say, their gossips and sniggering about you and your Mrs please, don't worry about these people! Bear this in mind, good or bad people will talk about you.  It's human nature!

Therefore go live your happy life, sooner or latter when things gets better, the same people will come creeping and a-se leaking their way to you, seeking favours.

As for your family, stand your ground and tell them eye ball to eye ball, that you are in-love with this woman, she is your choice and your choice only. If they love you and want your happiness, they must love your dog too else, they should forget about you, simple!  Obviously, your family would prefer to keep you than lose you.

This is why Oyibo life is quite different from ours.  When they are in-love with someone (sinner or righteous?) just forget it! And for our people, they would usually say na juju i tek holam! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
This is usually because, we lack understanding of the needs of our family members and the simple things that makes one happy.  After all, what do we strive in life for? At the end of the day, is it not to be loved and be happy? To be respected, to be listened to, to feel that we are the centre of our partners life. What else could we possibly want in a relationship? That's what we mean when speak about love!  To that I say, if you are in-love buddy, go for it!

Based on their experiences, I think prostitutes are conversant in their interactions with men and seem to understand them more therefore, would make good wives than most of us as they'd seen it all.  And to crown this, your woman, has also shown her fertility - she is capable of bearing you, children which is what marriage is mainly all about and I believe, most Nigerian girls can't even swear by that nowadays.  Most have damaged their wombs through frequent abortions and men who unfortunately married them, end up worrying why their young wives are unable to conceive. So boy, take your lot and run!!!!

Go ahead, marry the woman you're in-love with and look after your young family.

Good luck!

Christianity EtcRe: Should Our First Fruit Go To The Pastor's Pocket? by Theblessed(f): 5:54am On Jan 20, 2010
No, this is fraud!  The Pastor got it wrong! It is true that God commanded these words to Ezekiel, but it all boiled down to the circumstances at the time.  The people of Israel were doing detestable things against God e.g idol worshipping, desecrating God's temple, breaking his covenant whilst worshipping and serving him. The only group who were faithful and kept God's decrees where the Levites who were priests and were allowed to enter God's sanctuary to offer sacrifices to him.  Even so, God gave them conditions in which to serve him:
[li] They were to wear linen clothes and not woollen garments while ministering etc.  Does your pastor do so?[/li]

[li]To wear linen turbans and undergarments.  Does your pastor wear turban?[/li]

[li]To take off the clothes they have been ministering in, leave them in the sacred room and put on other clothes before mingling with the people.  Does the pastor do that? [/li]

[li]The priests must not shave their heads nor let it grow long but trim it.  That am sure he would do.[/li]

[li]The priests must not marry widows or divorced women, they must marry only virgins of the Israelites decent or widows of priests. Did he also do that?

Well, if he didn't I suggest you give your first fruit to God and not to man.  Make it clear in the note accompanying your first seed what you meant the money for e.g. 'This first seed of the year is for Gods work only.' It's between him and God what he does with it and no more your problems![/li]
You see how some of these pastors are abusing people any how they like using the word of God.  But I worry for many who could not read their Bibles and interpret the word of God based on circumstances at the time whilst  comparing with the current times. These people should know we are not all idiots - some of us can query things you know!

So, follow the example of Abraham and give 10% of your earning (and not all your money, please) as the Lord has blessed you this month.  Remember, Abraham promised God that he would give him 10% of all he blessed him with therefore, do the same and ignore your greedy pastor.  If I were you, I would change Church!

Yeah, those that are destined to go in the chaos will go, and that's their destiny.  One only has to look at Haite - imagine the devastation caused by the natural disaster there?  Those that are caught up in that chaos are destined that way, and that's life.  Everyone would die one day!
If only Nigerians would throw away the fear of dying and give the demon a show-down, they would realise that he too is scared animal because in a chase, a hunted animal would give up everything for his dear life.

Fear of the unknown is a big limitation to our progress.

A United Nigeria has not benefited me in any way therefore, won't miss

anything from it!  In fact, without this façade of Unity (the so called

one Nigeria) that never was, a divided Nigeria will be a big blessing

as it would encourage serious rivalry and competition among the

three hence rapid development and growth we are all talking about,

will be happening under our own eyes in our respective regions.

In fact, the best thing that could ever happen to Nigeria than the misery

we're all going through at the moment.

N.I.Gboi:
welcome back cheesy. was actually wondering where u have been.
you made some good points here but i do not totally agree with them.
in  the first bolded part, i take it that u are referring to taking up arms or dieing for your country. all over the world, several revolutions have taken place, but first a breaking point has to be reached. it took hundreds of years before the masses actually reached breaking point. the nigerian case must not be bloody. we don't have to take up arms to turn this nation around.
come to think of it, how many 'oyibo' men will agree  to go to the high hills for the sake of their countries?

second bolded part, u have always been talking about gender inequality, why do u have to wait for the men to start it first? i believe we are equals, so it won't matter who starts, will it?

for the last bolded part, there is too much of talk going on about the evils of Nigeria and that will not solve the problem. It won't even reduce it.
Oh, didn't know you've been waiting for me! Ask those who know me here, not the type that shy away from issues, got it? Ok!

I scanned through one of your post alleging that I have issues with Nigerian men, I want to make this clear to you now, so that you don't keep going on and on and on!

Firstly, I don't have any specific issue with Nigerian men rather, the bone I have with them or should I say African men as a whole are socially and culturally based, tinged with political factors though, politics is not my forte, as a Nigerian that loves her country, am bound to be involved here, too.

Yes, socially, EQUITY, JUSTICE and FAIRNESS is a thing of the past in Nigeria. I don't think Nigerians had ever known or ever experienced these ideologies first hand and in its full gear, to have the oomph to make a change in these aspects as one can not miss what they haven't got, right? Just as our Democracy is non-existent so are these three and if available and accessible, Nigerian women are the last to enjoy it even though, everyone is entitled to them irrespective of age, sex, gender, race, ethnicity, tribe, religion and disability, right? So, why do African men (let me just focus on Nigerians) think its their God given right to use, enjoy and abuse these Rights without any consideration of their women?

You will have Nigerian men shot you down via abuse, intimidation and control and sometimes physical harassments.  For example, last month here on N/L the story was that a young lady was dismissed from her job for having a baby out of wedlock.  How fair is this? You mentioned that I am also fuming about gender inequalities - what does that look to you? If a woman is sacked from her job, her only source of income to feed herself and family, where's the hopes for women in this country. Since am fuming about gender inequalities, tell me, if an unmarried man doing the same job had had a child out of wedlock would he still be sacked?

Again, not quite long ago, in Northern Nigeria, a woman was despoiled by one cranky slowpoke of a man and found herself pregnant by the whole experience and the courts their ordered that she should be flogged and stone to death, why, how unfair and archaic in this 21st Century? And we supposed to be One Nigerian here and have one Constitution, abi? Or are we being One Nigeria when it suited us? Why should women in the North be treated differently from anyone in the South? This episode took international outcry and interventions by Governments and Charity Organisations to save the life of that woman and her children as they managed to sneak her out of the country. What kind of a Country is this? You get despoiled, made pregnant and eventually got killed or imprisoned and the man walks free boy, is that your justice? If that woman was your sister would you tolerate this kind of justice for her or sit on your back side and watch her go to the gallows for a sin she did not commit. Search your hearts all of you!

Look, if its good enough for the goose, it's damn good enough for the gander, ok!

Nigerian women deserve much, much better and we demand it. As long as Western women got theirs after many years of struggles, Nigerian women will get theirs, eventually. Thank God the Terrestrial tv's and Satellites Dishes are all beaming into our lounges/sitting rooms everyday thereby diluting every hard core and authentic cultures globally, even China can not swear by its might in this area now, as they are going through the dilemma - so it's not gonna be long! cool cool cool cool cool

Also politically, you alleged that I am referring to taking up arms to achieve progress, development and unity in my country and if that is the case, why not? If that's what it would take to stop this nightmare of poverty experience by Nigerians up and down the country and caused by deep rooted fraud, corruption, embezzlement fuelled by insatiable greed, you name it - why shouldn't Nigerians take action to that effect when everything else is not working? All avenues have been exhausted, what are you guys waiting for?

I hear you ask, why can't Nigerian women take the initiative since they want equality? Well, you guys have not shown us that we are equals yet, until you do so then you'd realise what we can do! If you guys would do away with cowardice and take the bull by the horns perhaps, like the Marcoses of the Philippines, these so called Nigerian elites with no shame and remorse would begin to fear for their own dear lives, their children and grand children's lives as many Nigerian children are dying and perishing everyday from the effects of their actions - poverty.

Tell me, who in their right minds would like to see unclothed children with swollen stomach, oedematous hands/legs with dying eyes staring at them in hunger and helplessness, if not one with a heart of stone? Should I talk about our infrastructures?  Should I talk about our Hospitals? Oyibo toilets are even better than our hospitals and, that's why our President is abroad receiving quality healthcare, shame!! Our Schools, Colleges and Universities, nko?  Don't even go there.  Again, they are all well resourced and that's why all their children are being educated abroad and poor Nigerians are at home struggling, fighting and suffering in the hands of ASSU, how fantastic!

Are you still there? I wonder! If that's not enough I wonder what is and I must warn you, this is the anger of woman that loves her Country, if you don't know that, yet! Therefore, based on your inference if it would take revolutions to knock sense into the so called leaders of our country (past and present) and, for the sake/love of our country then, let's do it for a change and for the next generation! angry angry angry angry angry

Again, should there be revolution as you said, don't you reckon they'd be the first to leave the Country with their families just as the the Marcos of Philippines did, and where would they be running to this time, if not the West for some of them and Middle East for most? They can run but they won't hide because, Nigerians in Diaspora will deal with them, anywhere they go. Therefore, revolution is necessary for Nigeria to get out of this nightmare because, enough is enough of these abuses of our people and country!

And now, for those who support all these atrocities in our Country, your negativities are all welcome! Cheers!

Nigerian Men ain't cowards.Any one that say so properly does not know the true meaning of the word coward.let me freely educate such a person.the word coward means - somebody lacking courage: somebody regarded as fearful and uncourageous. Now you do know the true meaning of the word coward can you truely say that NAIJA men are cowards if Yes then you don't know Nigeria or It's just people around you that are cowards.Thank you for reading am out!ENJOY
B  a  l  o  n  e  y!

If Nigerian men are not cowards what are they, then?  Siddon dey look, hey?  Siddon dey look for the Ethiopians or the Egyptians or who to do the dirty job for them?  Or for we women to carry Klashnikoff to Abuja while they watch, eh? I wonder who's on the throne at Abuja, na woman?

You came here to educate us about the meaning of the word coward when you do not understand the meaning, yourself.

Yes, it means lacking in courage and, what is courage?  The ability to do something - or ability to do something that frightens one. Oh, did I hear frightens? It also, means lacking the strength to do something in the face of pain and grief. Obviously, pain and grief are frightening experiences, ain't they?

So, what are you talking about?

Now, tell me (aside, those already in the Military because, they are conditioned to do so!) how many Nigerian men would volunteer to go to high hills and mountains in order to strengthen our Country?  Count them?  I mean, going to Abuja to challenge the powers that be - certainly, that would be a frightening nightmare for most of them!!!!

Until you are able to answer these questions then, you'd know who should be doing the dirty job!  Let them show the initiative and see whether Nigerian women would support them or not, before you start defending the indefensible, as such acts can only promulgate and have promulgated stagnation in every aspect of our lives in this Country.

Please, help build Nigeria by criticizing the evil in it - that way you contribute in your own small ways to change in our blessed Country.  The problem with some of you is that, you worry about your image and how other people would perceive you on here but, that has a lot to do with confidence, I understand! To that I say, don't worry about receiving negative remarks about your views because, that's what Democracy is all about.     If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen!

People will always criticise you, good or bad and they don't have to like you, do they? Or do you like everyone on here on N/L, yourself??  Obviously, not - so don't expect everyone to like you then, because, it's natural for people to dislike/hate.  Please, chew on this and help make a change with your fingers and vocals if you can because, you are a human being and you must be heard.

Personally, I will not obey a husband that cheats on me or lies to me, period.  Anyway, with me he won't have a second chance and, that's it.

Yes, the Bible says ''Women should submit to their husbands' but it did not say we should submit to a foolish and selfish one and least of them all, one that cheats and lies to us. No, no and no! It did not say that!

Therefore, it's up to men to realize their roles and play their own side of the bargain honestly and sincerely then, women will reciprocate. Until then, stop moaning!

I hate cheats and could murder them! Only feel for ladies who find themselves at the receiving end of this selfish behaviour.  I can not cope, for my man is mine and mine alone, no one else!

So, you already know that?  Why do you guys treat us as 2nd Citizens?  You watch Nigerian men publicly and verbally abusing, intimidating and controlling women as if we have no Souls and our skin don't bleed.

Since you know that, isn't it time you start acting it and educating your brothers to that effect, for the sake of unity? Or do we have to remind you that we exist and own this country as much as you?

That was daft! I'm tired of reading painstakingly through sexist tripes like that.
Being boisterous behind a computer screen from the confines of your home or office, while seated on your calabash yansh.  What's stopping you as a woman from vacating your seat?  You too can do something about it unless you mean to tell me that women are inferior to men.
Now, you want us to go to war front but won't accept we are equals.

So, by wanting us to do something, has it finally occurred to you that men and women are equal and that we have equal rights as youhuh And that we should be treated with respect just as you? Well, to get us vacating our seats according to you and, challenge the powers at Abuja, we are challenging you guys now to imprint these Rights in the Nigerian Constitution then, you will know what Nigerian women can do. Try it! Don't be scared!!

I know you guys won't do it 'cos you're frightened we would take over the Universe and, we will because, there's no man in the house! Show me? Where are they?  Y  o  uhuh??  You bet your luck!

Glad, you've finally accepted that you guys have been undermining our rights for so long, frightened people!

The poster has stir the bee's nest and has got the usual Nigerian attitude of see no evil and hear no evil and attack the messenger.
Who can honestly dispute what the poster said and backed it up with a moving picture?

Planning in Nigeria is non existence and Lagos is just one of many junks, we called city,  except for few place where the rich lives as said by the poster, surrounded by a prison like fences and gates.
The poster should go to Ibadan and see pre colonial brown looking roofing sheets still hanging and sewage running openly on the street.
Or go to Aba and see how people lives side by side with stinking mountain of refuse dumps.

If you have been in Lagos for most of the day, outside. Just use a white hand towel to wipe your face and look at the result. It will be covered in pure thick black smug from unroad worthy autos and industrial pollution and that is exactly what people are breathing day in day out into their lungs- far worse than smoking.

Just like the poster said, I have also witness a man with cutlass cutting the grass as the plane taxi along the tarmac at the MMA just a year ago. How can that happen in the 21st century? How much does a lawn mower cost?

My people use to says that "a king who always hate to be told the truth will one day enter the village square with excrement of his on his clothe because no one dare tell him the truth".

God bless you for upholding the truth for the sake of your beloved Country!

This is a life story, happened to someone close. her parent being very poor, I mean very poor force their daughter into marrying a lecturer who is mid 40s. Note: the girl is just 18yrs old. Now after the marriage the girl now discovered that her husband cannot perform and the so call husband asked her to meet other men outside to put her on the family, of which she has done the first one. Now the girl is tired, she want to quit the husband and the parent are threatening hell and fire. She now come to me for advice. I want your opinion so that I can properly guide her. embarassed embarassed shocked
Goes to show the damage poverty can cause! angry angry angry Imagine parents forcefully gave their young daughter away into a doomed marriage?

Pack your bag and go home to your parents and blatantly refuse to stay in that marriage unless, over your dead-body! That way, your parents would see sense.  Imagine, this man fleeting you from one man to the other? In so doing, most definitely you are going to contract HiV-Aids or other serious disease that are rampant in Nigeria, and who would take the blame? Losing your young life for the sake of obedience to parents?

Get me right, it's good to obey your parents but obedience can ruin your life sometimes as in this case, if you don't watch it.

I suggest, you talk it over with your parents once again, make them aware of the implications of this kind of marriage/arrangement - how your life is at risk and if they are still adamant over your needs and views, pack your bag and leave home for good. Don't bother with them and don't tell anyone where you are, except your very close relatives/friends who have your interests at heart and who could keep a secret or two and while you're away, make no contacts with anyone until you succeed.

Finally, ensure you give him back his dowry as soon as you get the money, chikina! Better to have your freedom and make your own choices/mistakes than be imposed upon!

Good luck and be careful with the tigers out there because, there are many of them! wink wink wink

Now, we can all see why poverty is evil! angry angry angry angry angry

No, don't be afraid! Fear is a spirit and that spirit needs to be broken.  And its this fear that has kept Nigeria undeveloped till now.  In order to achieve any thing in this country, we have to take the bulls by the horn and smash it.  Enough, is enough!!!

Imagine, over 50 years of Independence nothing has been achieved up till now, for this great and blessed Country and we have had our Liquid Gold for over 55years now so, what are we afraid of? Dying??

Hence, the cowardice the guy is talking about as there is no courageous man in Nigeria - they only show up their strength/power where women issues are and I leave you to draw your own conclusion about them. They want we women to do their duty jobs for them - we won't.  All we want is our Equal Rights and we will get it!

I think I'd rather write my name on  Gold PLAQUE, instead of on a gold plague. what do u think?
Go on, go on, say that again buddy!  Teach them how to have a better and decent life. We don't know what it is. We are a Country of hustlers and we only understand a life on the hustling lane - hustling and struggling till you drop.  Onye nwuo ozuruike (When one give up the ghost they rest), Okwa onye nwuo, ya achisa owa (Isn't it when you die, you give it all up?). Perhaps a taste of a better life would change all that our negative thinking.  Go on buddy, say it again so that we can hang our heads in shame when we realise what we are missing in lifecry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry.

Imagine, your car break down in any Nigerian Motor way, are you crazyhuh? undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided Better put it on fire and throw away the key before you catch the next Coach to the nearest town/city else, don't blame me!!! smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley

And, with this attitude where we rubbish peoples views/opinions about developments and changes we need in this country, Nigeria is going no where with its back until, her peoples thinking is in tandem with modern times.  We can not achieve any thing unless we all agree and call 'a spade, a spade' and mean it as well as be prepared to work together to create a better and quality life for our people, of which some of us would have to sacrifice their lives for - and I ask, which Nigerian man would do so?

You see, some people blames it on illiteracy but don't think so - education and exposure has nothing to do with this because, Nigeria has the highest number of educated and well travelled elite in the whole of Africa rather, we need serious social and cultural changes and that would do Nigeria a lot of good.

LiteratureRe: A Letter To Imam Farouk (laugh N Forget your Sorrow) by Theblessed(f): 1:58pm On Jan 13, 2010
fummylolah:
Dear Farouk,

How are you? I really hope that all is well with you.
I'm sure that all should be well because in spite of your present
predicament you are still entitled to three full meals with
complements of juice and assorted drinks (even those who didn't
attempt to bomb planes live on less than $1 a day in 9ja). When you
are finally convicted, you will still be fed on government expense.
You'll be allowed to play games and participate in sporting
activities. If you so desire, you'll be allowed to pursue the Master's
Degree that you abandoned. (By the way I struggled to pay the fees for
my Masters). My father was never a bank chief (not even a community or
micro finance bank).
I am struggling to understand your (in) action. Growing up you must
have had all and I mean ALL of the things that many of your mates
only wished and hoped for. A BMX, Raleigh or Chopper bicycle. Nintendo
games and accompanying cartridges, PS2, PS3, XBox, PSP, most
definitely a car or cars (I can bet you never entered molue, danfo,
okada, keke marwa or
BRT) with driver and possibly bodyguard or at least police escort.
You've had foreign Ivy League education and to top it all up Farouk;
you lived in a 4Mpounds house. Gbogbo bigz boiz. Haba Farouk, minini
(hausa), ogini (ibo), kilode (yoruba),huh

My guy, upon graduation you would have served only if you wanted to
and possibly in your janded abode. One hungry hustler would just have
been collecting your allowee (less than what you spend on boxer
shorts). At the end of the service year, they would just issue a
directive to the deegee of corpers to send (did I say send) bring your
discharge certificate to your house in Lag or Abj. Even if you
decided to wear khaki and obey the clarion call, 'under the sun and in
the rain', you would only have gone for parade when you so desired.
You are not likely to have gone on endurance trek because you've never
had to endure. While in camp many 'ordinary'
corpershuns would have tried to attach themselves to you so that after
service they could have used your influence to open doors that will
better their lives.
After service, jobs were waiting for you (that's if you decided to
work). If you wanted a bank job, ba wahala. You wouldn't have started
from entry level, you may have settled for GM, DGM or AGM. If you
wanted to go into politics (many of your type are in the hallowed
chambers) they would have asked the chairman of the party in your
state to bring the form to your house only for you to append your
signature they'll be the ones to fill in the other information. Any
other candidate for the post you are interested in would have been
settled. When you are finally sworn in, you wouldn't have to move or
second any motions just raise your hands in favour or against when Mr.
Speaker or Senate president call for a vote. You would have been
chairman of one committee and member of others even though you won't
be doing anything. Any of the heads of the agencies upon which you
'perform'
oversight functions would have been summoned by your committee in
order to give your constituents the impression that you are working.
You would have initiated a probe, set up a subcommittee, given them
terms of reference, you would have received the report of the
committee and presented it on the floor of the chamber that you belong
to. That would have been the end and megabucks would have been voted
for such frivolities.
You would have been a member of many elite clubs, you'll be playing
Tiger Wuuds game, and you'd have one of the most expensive horses to
play polo. 9ja's version of HELLO magazine would have done a feature
on you and your horse.
OL boy, after much persuasion your popsie would have arranged the
daughter of one of his friends for you as your ameriya (new wife).
Your wedding would have drawn the crème de la crème of society; the
weekly soft sells would have carried headlines like WHAT SOCIETY WOMEN
WORE AT FAROUK and FAROUKATT's wedin fatiha, with the rider, how they
met, and the details of their jewelry. They would have told us about
how you proposed to her when you took her for a weekend trip in that
mid east country that our countrymen now take out time to go to it
sounds like doo-bye. We would have read about how a former president
or head of state was the chairman of your wedding, the reception would
have taken place at the international conference centre; it would have
been aired on network TV on Sunday nite. (Even though you don't watch
local TV).
Farouk! Are you still there? Don't worry I'll soon finish. Ehen shebi
you were in jand before, then the country of Kofi's and Kwame's, you
entered eko o'ni baje, then 'Hamstadam', then Yankee. Why did you
enter 9ja, you should have avoided here. Suppose your popsie had been
at the airport, he would have finally found you (at least he would
have considered you a prodigal son).
I don't know the full details of your
travel schedule but you had a number of visas on your paali
(passport). You need to know how much dry fasting and prayer some
people do to raise money to get a passport before proceeding to prayer
camp or redemption city on Lagos Ibadan xpressway to receive laying on
of hands for breakthrough for visas. Some of these people go along
with their passports too and insist that a man of God MUST lay hands
on the passport, anoint it with olive oil and wrap it with white
handkerchief so that the day the oyinbo visa officer receives their
application God will touch his heart and he will issue them a visa.
Farouk let me tell you something some still do not get the visa and
for those who do, they have to reach out to family and friends to
raise funds for ticket, some are only able to raise the money when
the visa has almost expired. Even me when I want to travel I'm always
looking for cheap season tickets, I'll start calling my friends who
work in airlines even the ones I had quarreled with. You come get visa
and ticket money yanfu yanfu you come dey carry banger and knockout
enter aeroplane.
Ah okay I remember it was xmas day so you wanted to do fireworks with
other people's life. Or was it because you boarded a Delta airlines
planes that the Niger Delta spirit descended on you. See Farouk let me
tell you something even those guys have embraced amnesty they are just
waiting for HIM (Your kinsman) to come back so they can conclude the
agenda for the region. Ask Ateke, Tompo and Girl-Loaf, they don't
kidnap oyinbo again neither do they throw banger or bisco on oil
installations. They've all repented.
Why is it now that you have decided to rebrand Nigeria? Oh so you
think you can do a better job than a whole Prof who rebranded a drug
agency and saved millions of lives that have now being re-christened
good people great nation. How can you throw spanner in the works just
like that? You dis boy sef.
Anyway sha as for me, my countrymen and women we wish you whatever you
wish yourself, as you may have realized you are On Your Own - O.Y.O.
Even your popsie cannot come near you so wetin be my own?
But Farouk wait first where you going to forfeit all of the perks as a
rich man's son? You were a complete aje-butter and you wanted to kaput
just like that??
Some have cap but have no head, some have head but they have no cap.
You definitely lost you head.
I have enclosed a self addressed envelope so you don't have to worry
about stamp and envelope. I await a quick response to my letter or
else I will board a plane and,

P.S, personally i jst fink u'r a "naughty person".
Thanks for making my day with this rib-cracking humour! Na im be dey  thing wey we dey talk in Nigeria say, rich man's pikin no dey get brain as they are so, so cocooned from life's realities.  Glad reality has finally hit him as we are left with buckets of water to clean up Nigeria's image he'd so, so damaged on Christmas Day.

He action,  has caused more sufferings for Nigerians than ever before.  He is the Jonah in Nigerian ship and our God has eliminated him so that we could have calm and peace we so deserve.

Thanks for the best medicine in the world - LAUGHTER! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Cowards?  You got it! Any man in the house? Naaaaaaaaaaa! I doubt it! grin grin grin grin No, there's no man in the house as they haven't got the stomach to challenge the powers at Abuja and, who would take the initiative?  Meeeeeeee! Who else? grin grin grin grin grin grin grin Some don't even know where Abuja is and haven't been there before, won't even bother to find out let alone to have a show down with the powers that be. Otio o o o!

But if it was women issues - women asking for Equal Rights and respect, damn! Stop them! You see, they'd all be up in arms intimidating, controlling, abusing and crushing all our efforts in that respect.
No matter how hard we try to communicate sense to them, they still think we are trying to  take over the Universe and rule them, instead of finding a way to bring a change in our culture and country.

You see, insecurity is the disease Nigerian men would have to get over with, as our men are nothing but mouth, mouth, mouth when it comes to dealing with challenges - in fact, a bunch of women wrappers confused of how to go about reclaiming back their own country! sad sad sad sad

And now, awaiting all the abuses - bring them on!

He was fully funded by the UK Sports council during his competing years which means all his living expenses were taken care of. Also in the article it doesn't make any mention of a job and so I am led to believe that he was probably surviving on benefits (disability and income benefit which could amount to up to £150 a week not including housing benefit and council tax which he probably also claimed for) and receiving free NHS care for his health issues. So who was using who?  huh Who got the best end of the deal out of it all?
