I hope so too. We need our players in good leagues as good as possible, so as to help their development
Can't Nigeria develop its own league? Why do Africans have to rely on western countries. What was the point of getting independence?
Sorry for my venting.

Not just Arsene Wanger. I am sure there are a good number of sons of Africa accross the continent who are capable to do the job. But the only obstacle they will face is the fact that Africans discriminate against black. Africans would rather see a white man manage a national team than a fellow black.

You will never know sorrow in your life my bro,we Africans esp. Nigerians always derive pleasure from disparaging our very own even if it was apparent that the white men were our greatest enemy, you can see how white officiated against Africans esp Cameroon in the on going women's WC.

I watched the match in question and Benin rep. really deserved the winning, they played good football,Morocco held them one all draw which led to penalties, then what's the fuss about it
Thank you very much bro

In their entire Afcon history, BENIN is yet to win a game in 90mins or even 120 mins of football.

They have played 13 Afcon games in their history.

Won None, Drawn 5 and lost 8 times.

Four of those five draws were at this ongoing Afcon and it has done enough to land them in the Quarter finals against all bloody odds.

Football does defy logic several times .
Well said bro

They will.not admit a child that one of the parents are not catholic as you need to prove that and also baptismal card of your child
Hotstepper, sorry to overstep as this has been addressed before on nairaland.
The catholic school boards accross Canada have different rules. Take the case of London, Ontario for instance. You have a French Catholic school board and an English catholic school board in this city. Each one of those school boards has its own set of rules.
Anyone can enroll their child in a French catholic school in London. A baptismal certificate isn't required by the French Catholic school board. However, to enroll a child in an English catholic school in London, the parent will need to provide a baptismal certificate.

In short, there isn't one set of rules for all Catholic schools even within the same city. Also, Keep in mind that there can be more than 1 English Catholic school board or French Catholic school board in a given city.

So, the best thing to do would be to identify all the catholic school boards in a city and then to call each one of them to inquire if a baptismal certificate is needed

Bro, I once was in your shoe, and I had to take a decision to save my life and family, by moving out. You either quit that job or request for a transfer or even change of office. Mine was a neighbor, married just like me. It went to the extend that we were virtually hooked with each other. The last time, I could remember was right in her shop, and it wasn't up to 15 or 20 minutes there about, her husband came in. But seen a neighbor around, he did not suspect anything. Since then, both the guilt feelings, and fear of been caught, I had to advice myself. I quietly moved my family and cut off every form of communication. Sometimes, you could reminiscence those scene in your mind, but bro, its a dangerous game to play.
In a nutshell, my advice is either quit the job, or seek for a transfer. Then try and reduce your communication with her. Wetin dey sweet dey kill ó

I don't think ladies are getting the point.

There are many ladies without extra baggage of another man's child looking for husbands. Why should a young man consider a single mother when he can easily get a girl to marry that does come with extra expense that a child from a previous relationship bring.

To compound issues, the society now frowns at polygamy so the single mothers are forced to look for unmarried men.

My advice is if you are a single mum just know that you are at a disadvantage compared to other ladies searching for husbands and wisely grab a man you fancy who looks your way or be prepared to go into polygamy.

Life is not fair to many people, being a single mum might not be your fault but a man looks for the best woman he can get when searching for a wife.
To each his own. I ,along with many other men, would have no issue in marrying single moms.

And your assertion that Nigerians aren't being treated differently is equally baseless and unfounded.
When two parties are in a discussion and one makes a claim that the other disputes, the one who makes the claim typically has a burden of proof to justify or substantiate that claim.

You are among those people feeding Nigerians with claims you are unable to prove.

With regards to China, Nigerians are often denied entry because It is a sad fact that amongst foreign nationals in China, Nigerians commit the most number of crimes. Furthermore, an unspecified number of Nigerians have been caught with fake visas, bogus passports and documents at POE. This has led to a situation where Nigerian travelers are often seen as potential criminals hence are scrutinized more stringently by immigration officers. So, it's fair to say that the reputation of a teeny weeny number of country men have put us in the quagmire we find ourselves.

The Ugandan lady in question isn't more qualified than my mate. I know this for a fact because I have close associates at the Canadian school.

Let's be objective in our criticisms, sir. Have a good one.
You are asking me to be objective but your post is still far from been objective.

According to your post, the Ugandan lady isn't more qualified than your mate as per your associate in the Canadian school. To be objective, you should at least share more light as to who exactly this associate of yours is and how did he come to this conclusion. This is why I brought up the issue of the tribunal dealing with discrimination in Canada. They never left any stone unturned to prove a point. But in your friend case, it is still hearsay that you want us to swallow as fact.

Furthermore, if you want to be objective, you should provide data comparing the ratio of Nigerian travelers who had been denied entries against those of travelers from each country of the world. Numerical data should be the facts and not some biased stories written on Nairaland

Why do you people lie so much? the minute your skin is seen in any predominantly white country, you stand a high risk of being profiled. You will be singled out and searched because of your skin color. Many Westerns think Africa is a country not even a continent, they don't care if your Ghanaian or Nigerian as long as you're black, you're from Africa to them . If you put a White Southy beside a black Southy, even when the black one is far more qualified to teach, an Asian will pick a White man and pay him more than he'll pay the black one. You can continue deceiving yourself, I believe it's a free world and you're entitled to your views
Thank you so much for the bolded.
Nigeria is basically the only African country many people know in North America.
I identified myself as French Canadian ( no, I am not white wink ) . However, many places I go in the States people think I am Nigerian. I never felt mistreated in anyway because of the fact I am been perceived as a Nigerian. I have said it on my earlier post, we are just been perceived as black people regardless of one nationality.

It is unfortunate that Nigerians love feeding themselves will lies that everyone hate them

If you had read my write-up with an unbiased mind, you would've noticed at no point in it did I make any conclusions. Rather I posited a question. Perhaps you were too much in a hurry to rebuff my write-up you completely missed the point.

You spoke about following discrimination cases in Canada and whatnot. Sir, at no point did I allude to racism as being the reason for my mate's refusal into China? Aren't Ugandas black was the question I asked. The question points to the fact that racism wasn't a factor at least in my mate's case. You should read with an open mind so you don't appear like one that lacks comprehensive abilities. Have a good day, Sir.
Those are the questions you have asked earlier:

Why was the Nigerian guy denied entry into China while the Ugandan lady was let in? Aren't they both blacks? So, the imperative question begging for answer is why are we often treated differently ?

Now, my questions to you: Who told you Nigerians are often treated differently? Do you have any numerical data to back this up or your only basis are unsubstantiated stories like the one your friend had told you?

You didn't allude to racism as being the reason for your mate entry's refusal into China. I only brought up the discrimination issue to suggest that it is easy to come up with an erroneous conclusion when you dont have all the facts. I am sure people of all nationalities have been denied entry in China. The lady from Uganda may have been more qualified than your mate. Your mate may have hidden the truth to you.

Now back to my question, how do you know Nigerians are often treated differently?

Same to you : You should read with an open mind so you don't appear like one that lacks comprehensive abilities

What if the OP didn't know Nigerians weren't allowed to work in Mongolia until he landed at the airport presumably at Ulaanbaatar? Should the gentleman be blamed for that anomaly? The question we should be asking ourselves is: Why are Nigerians barred from taking up employments in Mongolia? This year, a mate of mine in 9ja applied for an English teaching at a Canadian funded private primary and secondary school in Guangdong ( don't want to mention the city for some reasons), did several Skype interviews, and passed pretty well. The school got him all the necessary documents from the ministry of labour and employment here, all documents duly signed (red seal of approval ). He went to Abuja for his interview and he passed. Got his working visa, booked a flight and off to China he went. On landing at the Baiyun airport in Guangzhou, homeboy was turned back with no reason(s) given. He said all the immigration officer told him was he wasn't going to let him in! A week later, a Ugandan girl who was employed by the same school was let through at the same airport without any hassles whatever. Do Ugandans speak better English than Nigerians? Hell No! Why was the Nigerian guy denied entry into China while the Ugandan lady was let in? Aren't they both blacks ? So, the imperative question begging for answer is why are we often treated differently?
Again your conclusion on the bolded is completely baseless. You have no tangible facts but just hearsay. Your mate had told you his side of the story which may not even be accurate to begin with.

You didn't get the Chinese official version and yet you are making a conclusion on this case. You don't know anything about the lady from Uganda. You dont know if she was recommended by the president of Uganda. You have no inside information regarding this case.

I have followed hundreds of discrimination cases in Canada. One thing I have learned is that so long as you have no inside information as to why a white person was hired instead of a black person, don't jump into conclusion that racism was at play. You should get the facts first from everyone involved. But in this case, your friend told you his. Your friend may have hidden his dirty laundry but chose to present only the clean sheets to you..

A good number of Nigerians on this site enjoy feeding themselves with the idea that humanity is conspiring against Nigerians. So, any time a Nigerian is been denied entry in a country, it becomes a tangible fact to them to prove their "conspiracy" theory. Nairaland is full of those baseless arguments.

I am having a hard time to reconsile the 2 faces of a Nigerian. On one hand, I see a Nigerian as someone who can achieve the impossible. A Nigerian can master his courage to the extent of walking the Sahara desert and crossing the red sea to reach his goal. This type of courage is inspirational and can only be found in very places on the planet.

On the other hand, that same courageous Nigerian is a wimp who cries every time thinking the entire world hate him based on his own opinion.

To answer your question as to why Nigerians have been treated differently, I would say that you have been treated just like the rest of the world. But you love feeding yourself with inaccurate, unsubtentiate stories. You believe in stories which you don't have any tangible facts about but just hearsay.

Stop feeding yourselves with those half baked true. No one hate Nigerians.

Please do you know if I will need the FRSC letter in Ontario.
If you have been driving for at least 3 years, yes you will need the FRSC letter in Ontario.
Else, if your driving record is less than 3 years, the FRSC letter become irrelevant.

Last year I took a Nigerian couple to get their driver's licenses at Service Ontario.
The wife was about 4 weeks short of reaching her 3 years driving record mark.
The clerk at Service Ontario explained to her that she had a choice of returning after 4 weeks so that the FRSC letter could be taken into consideration. Else, Service Ontario wasn't going to consider the FRSC letter. The lady had to return to Service Ontario after reaching her 3 year Nigerian driving anniversary

***** Edit: cheromel indicated that he was able to use his FRSC letter in Toronto with 26 months driving record. It may be that the rule had changed.

I have European academic degrees, and I got the visa from a European country, so it was assumed I was a European. However on discovering I was Nigerian, they completely threw in the trash the fact that I was an invited academic researcher with advanced degrees, all they saw was my Nigerian passport

I was given apologies, after the whole soap opera, but the humiliation was not something to forget. I thought deeply; If I was using Togo, Chad, Ivory coast, Kenya, Uganda or any other African passport, wouldn't I have been spared from that humiliating experience? however that green passport was my downdoing.

Fyi, I was profiled by an immigration officer who apparently spoke Igbo rather fluently (I found it weird coming from an Asian grin ) ... the man stopped when I told him I am not Igbo and I didn't understand a word of what he was saying.
There we go again, Nigerians with their victims mentality. What made you think if you were holding a different African passport you would have been treated differently? People of all nationalities have been denied entries all over the world for any reason and some time for no reason at all.

I have been on Nairaland for 10 years and I am impressed by the wealth of knowledge on this site that had made me fall in love of Nigeria and its people. Nigeria has some of the best and most innovative minds I have ever come across.

However, one thing I don't agree with is the fact that some Nigerians think the entire world is against or after them. We are all black. Therefore we all go through the same hardship in this world as black people.

I may agree if someone say he/she had been profiled because of his skin color. However, I always fail to understand how anyone can even think that a motorist was pulled over by police in the west because that motorist is Nigerian. How can the police even know the nationality of a person before pulling him over.

My dear Nigerians, it is time to stop this whining.
