I have been dating this girl for almost a year now and things have been going smooth with us until recently. I just don't know were the desperation for marriage came from. Now we barely have a normal conversation without the marriage issue coming up.

Though I don't have a steady job per say, I am a business man and am able to make myself a good some of money every week which isn't so bad. She is also working and makes around 60k every month. I have been telling her to relax a little bit so we can plan properly and get ourselves ready for the life time journey together, but she won't listen.

Her own is that in her place once a girl has graduated from school everyone is expecting her to get married. She will even bring up issues of the young girls getting married in her church and she is the only single were she works even though she is actually the youngest in her office.

She is just 24 years of age and almost 25 so she keeps saying she set a deadline for herself to get married before 25. The worse part is that sometimes she tries to threaten me that so many guys are asking for her hand in marriage but she doesn't want them, its me she wants.

This whole desperation is getting on my nerve and I really don't want to rush into marriage because her people want her to get married. So am thinking of calling the relationship off so that she can go and marry one of those men she said is asking her hand in marriage and I will wish her all the best.

Just so you know, am not trying to be tribalistic here, she is Yoruba and said that's how things are done in their culture so I don't know if that's true or she is just making all that up.

Congratulations! U seem like someone who has priorities and understand life. U think with a cleat head. Never allow anyone pressure you. Free her if she doesn't understand time n seasons.

Let me tell you guys a brief story.
When i was in secondary school, i was the best student in my class. I was so good that I represented my school in any competition held.

Going to university, i still had that flare. I was still very serious. I read like a mad person , but due to some factors , my gp was really bad in yr 2 and 3. Regardless of the fact that I studied hard. Other years were good but it was unfortunate i came out with a 2.2 degree. If a degrees were to be given according to your level of seriousness, I would have made a first class.

However, i came out of school thinking that atleast its not like 2.2 is a bad result, It’s average. I tried looking for a job, but everywhere says minimum 2.1. I had to settle for a teaching job which i still do now. I have given up on looking for job because everyone says the same thing. 2.2 has made me believe i am no longer intelligent. People in my family, my friends , my colleagues at work all believe that i am intelligent. But my degree tells me otherwise.

Now here is what saddens me. A friend of mine whom i knew i was better than academically back in school posted a picture of a car given to him by his employer. He came out with a 2.1 (p:s he got that job without knowing anyone in the company,he saw it online and applied).Everyone in the department knew how he always passed his exams. Although i am genuinely happy for him, but I am sad for myself. Do employers think that we 2.2 graduates are totally worthless? Coming out with 2.1 is a nice achievement and many people who got it worked really hard for it but many factors can make a bright student come out with 2.2. I have been teaching for three years now and I sometimes ask myself, would I continue like this? I don’t want to be like some of my colleagues who are way older than i am and still teaching. I am 25.

An advice to people in universities. Do any thing you can to come out with a 2.1. Don’t let that no job thing fool you. Read , cheat or buy 2.1, but do whatever it takes to come out with it. Get it first then listen to the no job story because your story can actually change with it. As for 2.2, there is actually no job unless you have somebody somewhere.

Bro, the sun and the moon must shine each in its time. Time and chance bro. Success in life isn't about degrees or certificates...I will not deny that it might help but believe me, you are worried for nothing. Keep trying, keep praying...time and chance bro. God will make u smile soon. Cheers.

Firstly, you need to understand that this man is in DIRECT confrontation with Bola Ahmed Tinubu and by extension the Leadership of APC in Lagos. Akinwunmi is more or less in battle with LAGOS!!!

1. By now, the witches and wizard of the various Markets, Ogbonis and the entire paraphenalia of Lagos Principalities and Power have decided his fate in conjunction with Esu Laolu Ogiri Oko himself.

2. I am so totally sure that Akinwunmi Ambode and his band of fools don't even have a fleeting idea where the MEMBERSHIP REGISTERS OF LAGOS APC are at this material time. By now, the members who are going to be ELIGIBLE for voting at the party primaries would have been carefully selected, consulted, accredited at home and given all necessary instructions. None of you guys on nairaland would be there.

3. On the day eventually set for the primaries, Akinwunmi Ambode will be extremely lucky to get into the venue with more than 20 of his members. The security will be water tight, even his DSS details will struggle to get into the venue.
4. Akinwunmi Ambode will not get up to 10% of whatever vote cast at that primaries for the Guber candidate.

5. By now, the members of the LSHA have perfected the impeachment plans of Ambode to be executed with lightning speed immediately after the primaries. Ambode, his lawyers and Followers will still be occupied with reading the impeachment notice trying to absorb it when the impeachment will be approved in the House and the Chief Judege swearing in Madam Idiat Adebule as Governor to complete the term.

6. Without immunity and security, Ambode will be delivered into the hands of the militant arm of the party aka MC Oluomo & Co. He willl become endangered even inside his own bedroom.

7. By 29 May 2019, Ambode will be struggling between his personal safety and the multiple curses and afflictions that the people mentioned in No. 1 above have poured on him. He will not even himself remember that he was ever Governor in this Lagos.

Have you ever wondered why Ambode privatized a lot of Government owned businesses(funding them with government money after privatizing)?
