Politics › Is the new pump price a true reflection of unsubsidised crude oil products. by Toks2008(op): 11:51pm On Jun 02, 2023*. Modified: 10:00am On Jun 03, 2023 |
Any efficient and responsible government should subsidise essential products for the citizens but unfortunately, the deep corrupt practises in Nigeria has made it so hard for the government to continue with the subsidy regime hence the need for us to pay for the ineptitude and corruption of the government. It is on record that about an average of N18billion is spent to subsidise about 60 million litres consumed daily by Nigerians. From a layman's view, to arrive at the amount the Govt spends to subsidise a litre, a simple arithmetic will be to divide 18billion by 60million litres That will be about N300 spent to subsidise 1litre. It was reported by the former minister of finance that the marketers usually inflate the sum so let's believe that with proper accountability the actual amount spent by the Govt on subsidy can't be more than N200 per litre. Add N200 to the former price and we will arrive at a healthy new price of N380 or at most N400 to cater for fluctuations. To corroborate my layman's view, a report from PENGASSAN before the new government was sworn in stated that fuel should not cost more than N400 after subsidy removal so why is the new price above N500? https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/590678-petrol-to-sell-at-n400-per-litre-after-subsidy-removal-pengassan.html

Politics › Re: Fuel Subsidy Removal: Tinubu Should Remember His Stand In 2012 - Ajaero by Toks2008(m): 1:09pm On Jun 01, 2023 |
post=123488634: Any advocate on fuel subsidy should convince the Nigerian people why President Tinubu should embark on a present illegality that gulped $10 billion of our scarce or unavailable resources in 2022 alone.
Those claiming to defend the right or welfare of workers should convince the Nigerian people that $10 billion injected into the economy yearly will not jumpstart the economy enough as to create massive jobs and even increase the same minimum wage they complain about.
Anything to move our Darling country forward is all we want at .
God bless the sane, honest and hardworking people of our land. Y'all will eat the fruit of the land.
We Rise
It will end in praise for us all in due season. Nigeria will be great in our lifetime. You fall my hand. Have you every asked yourself if it is true that the said amount was actually paid as subsidy... Every OPEC nation subsidises for their citizens... It is part of the government responsibilities. But corruption is the problem in Nigeria I was expecting Tinubu to first n foremost probe the subsidy payment perhaps he just might realize how corrupt the handlers have been.

It was even reported that the subsidy removal was not in the written speech of Tinubu.

Politics › Re: NMDPRA: We’re Ready To Issue Petrol Import Licence To Interested Companies by Toks2008(m): 7:00pm On May 31, 2023 |
Wodu89: The bigger enemy isn't subsidy , but lack of management and control of subsidy payments because of infalted invoices.
The citizenry looses alot with the removal of subsidy payments because in this clime, salaries do not increase readily, meaning purchasing power becomes more and more difficult with this economic overhaul.
Maintaining the subsidy is to the benefit of the average citizen. It's managing the invoicing system that's the problem. We can have metered and regulated suslbsidy payment in place with FG placing caps on subsidy payment and then hedging the excesses against Government backed bonds, so short term economic traction is cushioned by long-term macrofinances of the court ey.
If invoicing and lack of accountability is the issue with feul subsidy, then why don't we grant licensing that pays subsidy payments based on metered importation allowance?
When would Nigeria let thinking people lead ? When !
The same 2012 problem is repeating itself. Sensationalism. Assuming that the subsidy only implies people stealing,.forgetting or not even considering it's benefits.
The average minimum wage of a worker can't mean anything in a post subsidized feul economy.
Increase in food prices, Housing, transportation, lifestyle all at once without corresponding rise in salary payments is nothing short of a disaster. Be it Peter Obi, Tinubu, Atiku subsidy removal must be planned and strategized before actualized
In the end, the bigger enemy is the Hausa Fulani hegemony who setup cabals in all state instructions to run them down so private ones are setup to mop up the national treasury. Nigerian refineries and Dangote is typical
If Hausa and Fulani allowed our refineries worked like NLNG, we wouldn't be talking subsidy removal or Dangote
The focus must be maintained. For Nigeria to work, Hausa Fulani hegemony has to die You get sense jare |

All the accolades and praises been heaped on Tinubu today for removing fuel subsidy could have been given to gej if only he had the balls and courage to stick to his guns and maintain his stand then . What accolades? What praises? Stockholm syndrome has finished many Nigerians. We are made to suffer for the corruption and ineptitude of our govts and you are talking bout accolades... That is where you got it all wrong. If I'm giving an appointment today TO SERVE THE PEOPLE, I will gladly do it BUT WITHOUT ANY FORM OF PARTISANSHIP TO ANYBODY BUT THE PEOPLE. absoluteSuccess: This is what differentiates democracy from any other forms of government.
That sentimental attachment takes something beyond the ordinary to break.
Would the world have rediscovered democracy had George Washington opt to be king during the declaration of Independence?
"I will not defeat king George III to become king George I" he might have said.
The world indeed owes a lot to men of such repute who were not carried away by the transient allures of power. Where is the democracy? Obviously not in Nigeria |

YAKUBU has single handedly massacred the democratic future of this country.
Tinubu will never be the president of majority of Nigerians.
Buhari will be remembered as a failure. We all had hoped that he will at least remedy his tainted name by giving Nigerians credible elections but he failed.
Indeed some defeats that were more triumphant than victories.
Any one who supports Tinubu's victory has a reprobate nature and such should be avoided.

Acidosis: Any industry these Lekki divas invade, they destroy it with nud.e and nudi.ty.
This is the same way they ruined the real estate industry. Right now, you can hardly sell a Lekki property to a big man without showing your full bre.easts or butt on Instagram. Many end up giving sex to sell houses in Lekki, making the industry extremely difficult for men and sane people.
Nonsense!
Some of us follow great chefs on IG. Very well dressed and decent women who just want to teach, showcase their craft, and make money but these children of Delilah have come to do what they do best.
How can a professional chef who loves to cook have more photos of nud.ity than her craft. What sort of nonsense is that?? When I saw her house, I knew that there is more to what she does and nobody should tell me crap. In Nigeria, how many 27 year old ladies don achieve that with pure hardwork? As I will always add... I'm not judging, it is her life but I actually lost my respect for her when I saw her bday video. Habba, is her mum not an African woman? She too do abeg. |
