Yes and It is to God's glory. I do not take credit for these. I am pained by the increment because I pick my bills (you probably dont understand what that is. It means paying for the things you enjoy. You will get there cool). N145 is not paltry. My daughters school fee per term is 230k (Thats probably the sum of what you paid for your non-UME course) Judging by the way you are talking, you dont have responsibilities and probably have no plans. Am proud to be a "nigga". Very proud. My companies are not for sale because we are delivering value both for our staff and client. I am 35 years old. Thats my real age. Im on my bed,abt to start preparing for work...God punish strike and NLC!!i rather make the sacrifice and suffer hardship now,so my kids can enjoy in the future..Besides,Transport fare remains the same in benin despite fuel price increment..

You are just probably a single, mummy's boy who is being fed by parents. If you have been fueling your car at 4,200 for 50 liters, and all of a sudden you are doling out N7,250 for the same 50 liters, you will not say what you are saying. People should 'suffer now so their children will enjoy'. Does your government not have the wit to create other sources of wealth in a country that is so endowed? When I hear this 'suffer now enjoy later' non.sense I just sorry for the ignorance in people. Are the children and family of those increasing the price of fuel suffering along with you? Gibberish!

Business took me down to lagos on quick notice. After the hustles and hassles, I came home to meet bbae in the red zone. Apparently the thing arrived when I did. I was angry but well no be today we beginn chop am. Bae reminded me dat I promise her a big bowl of ice cream since west ham won my team yesterday after I boasted. I warned her and reminded her what sugar does to her. Yet she was adamant (long throat) and accused me of trying to dodge repaying a lost bet. Anyway I bought the biggest size I saw at shoprite. Do youu believe that this lady licked everything and never bothered to offer me any. I kept quiet because I knew in a few hours my God will fight for me.

All through the night nothing, I went out early this morning only to be called to return immediately by her wailing. I came home and met her in great pains and tried my best to conssole her while hiding a smirk of "ntooooor". Anyway she asked me to go buy her sanitary pad. Stupidly and without thinking it through. Out I went.

I met a lot of people at the drug store, I lingered outside hoping they will disperse before I go in. Minutes passed and more people entered and none left. Bae started calling and wondering what's taking all the time. I summoned courage and entered. All eyes all of a sudden fell on that tall bros. The yeye nurse or whatver left everyone and asked me loudly " oga wat do u want" . I almost collapsed but yet I had to say it . " I want pad". Everybody suddenly looked at me. The sales girl in shock asked me again " you say wetin ?". And I told her I wanted to buy pad. I was so filled with shame, thinking the worst was over, till when the useless, foolish nurse faced me. Looked at a whole me up and down and asked. " OGA DO YOU HAVE HEAVY FLOW OR NORMAL"

This woke up the devils in that store. They all burst out laughing . I almost collapsed and seeing that I have lost all dignity I told her " I have heavy flow". I answered on the assumption that the lady was kidding with me. When she wanted to explain the thick and slim pad issh was when I barked in anger that she should give me one of each kind . People kept chuckling at themselves despite my embarrasment. I bought three types of pad and hurried out.

It is clear that I will never visit that shop nor street in a long while. All because bae has longer throat.

Nice one. Next time just wear a wedding ring so it will seem you are married. Flash the ring hard so they will all see it and wont feel the urge to ask embarrassing questions. Pele!

I just prepared a quick Spaghetti for my daughter (now 3+). Actually after preparing the meal I felt hungry myself. But because I told her to always ask if she wanted anything, I approached her and this discussion ensued.

Me: Angel please can I eat a bit of your spaghetti

My Daughter: No you cant eat it.

Me: Why? You should share your things.

My Daughter: No

Me: Why?

My Daughter: You cant eat it you don't have mouth.

My people, the hunger just vanished. I laughed my heart out.

"Man" as used in this context is gender-neutral or you may say generic. It can also refer to women. So the front-pager is not wrong. Man, Men and Mankind can be used to refer to both gender. I hope this helps.
Nairaland / General / Re: 150 Females Raped, 31 Babies Abandoned In Lagos... by Totfulguy: 4:06am On Apr 27, 2016
Venerable612:
No fewer than 150 females were raped, while 31 babies were abandoned on the streets of Lagos in the last one year.

The Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, said this at a press briefing in Ikeja on Tuesday.

Akinbile-Yussuf explained that 150 reported cases of sexual and physical abuse were officially recorded, while five pregnant schoolchildren were assisted to access adequate ante-natal and delivery services and were also integrated back into school.

“Also, a total of 57,350 schoolchildren benefitted from individual and group counselling sessions to curb truancy, gangsterism and other social vices. About 150 reported cases of sexual abuse and physical abuse were treated. Five pregnant schoolchildren were assisted to access adequate antenatal and delivery services. They were also integrated back into school,” she added.

The commissioner further stated that 85 suspected rapists and paedophiles had been taken to court while the cases were still pending.

She said 31 babies, comprising 19 females and 12 males, abandoned by their parents, were rescued in the last one year on the streets of Lagos.

“The Child Protection Unit is responsible for the rescue and referral of all abandoned babies and children in the state to orphanages and homes. It also carries out child audit on the registered orphanages to decongest the homes and discourage institutionalisation. A total of 31 babies —19 females and 12 males — were rescued during the period under review,” she said.

She explained that 74 babies were released for adoption, while 81 adoptions were legalised through the family courts.

Akinbile-Yussuf said the government took 1,340 beggars, the destitute and the mentally-challenged off the streets of Lagos.

“A total of 590 rehabilitees were released and re-united with their relations for re-integration.

“The state government provides medical and vocational facilities to help in turning the lives of beggars around. About 147 rehabilitees are currently undergoing vocational training at the Lagos State Rehabilitation and Training Centre, Majidun,” she said.

The commissioner added that the state handled 634 juvenile cases in the last one year, out of which 26 juveniles were repatriated to their countries after due consultation with their embassies.

In the same vein, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Lola Akande, said the ministry in the last one year treated about 589 cases ranging from sexual abuse, physical abuse and child labour cases.

She said the ministry also received 382 cases of domestic violence out of which 234 were successfully treated, which among others include physical and emotional pains, harm, injury, humiliation and degradation, permanent and partial disability, separation, divorce and needless loss of lives.

Akande asked members of the society to come up with useful information on sexual violence against women and men, as well as other social vices including any suspected illegal baby factory.

Crime / Re: 13 Killed During Cult Clashes In Kogi by Totfulguy: 9:29am On Apr 26, 2016
mediang:
PALPABLE fear enveloped Idah, headquarters of Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State, as no fewer than 13 persons were killed during clashes by rival cult groups in the town.

At the end of the clashes, which was said to have started on Friday and lasted till Sunday morning, two women and 11 men were either shot dead or sustain injuries as a result of machete cut.

It was gathred that trouble started on Friday night when some group of boys invaded the town and shot one Danjuma Amodu, popularly called Murphy.
The boy was said to have been gunned down while relaxing in front of his family house at GRA by the cult group members, who also butchered his body.

When the news of Amodu’s death filtered through the town, some fully armed men believed to be members of his group were said to bave mobilised for reprisal and held the town hostage for several hours.
Nigerian Tribune further learnt that the men drove in a Volkswagen Golf car and shot sporadically for several hours, while they searched various spots for their targets.

The gunmen were reported to have blocked the road between Ibro Junction and Bishop road Junction between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. from where they proceeded to a drinking joint at Igalaogba looking for their targets.
Sources said the owner of the joint, Haruna Achema and his wife were shot and left critically injured, while one customer was shot dead by the cult group
At least eight persons were said to have been killed at Idah waterside, while another woman was reportedly hit by stray bullet as she was attempting to escape from the scene of the attack.

However, a detachment of military personnel had been deployed in the town and were patrolling major streets to ensure safety of lives and properties.
Confirming the development, the state Police Commissioner, Mr Yakubu Usman, said men of the command were already on the trail of the perpetrators, while promising to fish them out.

All I get are fraudulent deductions from my airtime for arbitrary and unsolicited subscription for services I have no need of nor ever requested. This is the peak of robbery short of pointing a gun to my cheek or forehead and collecting my money. I have recently been auto-subscribed on a "diabetes tips" service I NEVER solicited. I will post a screenshot of the said deduction and advice Globacom to stop this fraud. I cannot leave my contact on this medium (which as a hint is 08***183278) but if Glo is a sensitive network they will find a way to reach me and undo the damage if the ever will. I know I am not alone in this.

Tinubu didn't see this coming neither did any of us, except a few of us blessed with foresight. We have never had it this rough in the history of our great nation, who would have thought that the change we all clamored for is fast becoming a nightmare right before our eyes? Before the APC primaries there were whispers everywhere that 'The Lion of Bourdillon' should contest the election, many see him as a credible challenge to the power struggle but no the man had other plans and the outcome of that grand plan is fast becoming a nightmare... No sane person would expect Tinubu not to support Buhari to the end knowing fully well that he engineered his victory in the first place. But as it is 'The Lion of Bourdillon' is loosing his friends and loosing them fast, only recently he celebrated his birthday but little did we know that the turn up was far below what was witnessed last year and yes he left Lagos for Abuja that same night(confirmed report) if Tinubu had contested the election win or loose we definitely won't be facing the uncertainties and confusion we are currently facing, let's pray that our hope for change doesn't result to hopelessness.

Google "The Lion OF Bourdillon" and see what comes up.

Politics / Re: Lagosians Groan As Using Ojota Foot-bridge Becomes Difficult by Totfulguy: 5:22pm On Apr 12, 2016
DONSMITH123:
Some pedestrians on Tuesday called for ease in using the Ojota overhead foot-bridge in Lagos state, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

The pedestrians complained as they got stranded while trying to cross the overhead foot-bridge by surging and uncontrollable users.

A NAN correspondent, who was at the bus stop at about 7am, reports that many people from both sides of the road were trying to cross the bridge at the same time.

NAN observed that majority of the crowd are those crossing from Ogudu axis to take public bus to stadium or Lagos Island areas.

Police men and bouncers were also seen on both sides of the expressway, including the centre, preventing people from crossing the available way.

When the crowd became uncontrollable, large number of them moved to the expressway, while the bouncers stopped upcoming vehicles for them to cross to Ikeja side of the road.

Some of the pedestrians who spoke to NAN expressed sadness over the time spent trying to cross the bridge without an alternative route.

Mr Idika Mbonu, a trader at Yaba market, told NAN that he came to the bus stop from Ogudu end of Ojota at about 6.45am stranded.

Mbonu stressed that as of 7.32am he was yet to cross the bridge that was less than five minutes walk.

Mbonu said, “This crowd of pedestrians is unprecedented in the history of crossing Ojota Bridge. When I came here, I thought something else had happened with the mammoth crowd.

“I was trying to find my way to the bridge, yet the crowd going and coming through the bridge was scary. At a time, the entrance was blocked as no one could go through.

“I saw police and bouncers on the road preventing people from crossing the expressway; I have to be patient before I could cross.”

Ms Esther James, a student of Yaba College of Science and Technology, who was there for some time said the crowd at the bridge was unacceptable, stressing the need for a wider bridge that could accommodate a large number of people at the same time.

“We have called on the Lagos State Government to build a new bridge that can accommodate the physically challenged, pregnant women, load carriers and the elderly.

“The government is trying to enforce the use of the bridge, which is okay, but look at the crowd today. This bridge was not meant for this crowd,” said Mrs Evelyn Dagodoro, a civil servant.

http://www.punchng.com/lagosians-groan-as-using-ojota-foot-bridge-becomes-difficult/

They had better used that bridge. How many people have died of using that bridge compared to the risk of getting crushed trying to cross the expressway?

gerarahiamehn:
It started February 26th when she asked for catfish pepper soup.

After buying it, she tasted it, frowned and pushed it aside, said it's tasteless...then started nagging me of not being a caring husband. That's not true!

Next time, on the road...she told me stop and buy her ice cream, then again gala, then again pop corn!!! I complained of her strange eating habit. She got angry and threw everything away. Again, I'm not caring!!

Last Sunday, she disgraced me...yes, disgraced me, because she I took her a family meeting. They served her rice but she still went to beg an old woman to share her pounded yam with her!!!!

Someone said pregnant ladies act strange but this one is madness! I've called her mom to come take care of her daughter by herself.

Or I'd leave one day and won't come back!

Oga you are a first timer. Your wife is not mad. Her body is undergoing changes that even she is not having full grasp of. You need to man up and support her at this moment. You put her in the position she is. You could actually drive her mad if you keep acting like you sound (you actually sound like a bitch, no insult meant. When a man is all talkative and acting recklessly he losses the respect of his wife).

I might as well tell you, this is just the first phase. As she makes progress in her pregnancy, you have to expect more "madness". And when she gives birth and you have to wake up and be giving the baby water, and carry the baby all night, wake up because the baby wont sleep and is crying all night. So you need to "collect" yourself and HANDLE (not "MANAGE", which you seem to be doing) the situation. You need to love her much more and learn to see things from her side, not your side only as you seem to be doing. You can win her respect and love by the way you handle her now.

Look forward to fun moments with the baby (whom I think is a girl...thank me later) and pet her much more. The one way you can make your wife give you more space is to indulge her to the excess. Pet her more, and love her more. When she is relaxed, she will have less of your time. But when she is feeling funny and you appear to be jiving, you are in trouble. Am speaking as the husband of a pregnant wife expecting his second child. A word is enough for wise.
