This REALLY SAD for me AS A PERSON. I will advocate that women should be trained to handle person safety equipment like pepper spray, tazers and any other PSE that can be hidden in a bag or wallet and can be deployed with speed. Senseless deaths like this should NEVER HAPPEN. This things are on Jumia and other online stores. http://www./candid-pepper-spray-personal-safety-product-psp-116446.html

Dear All, lets us use this space to provide necessary information on issues that require immediate response or events happening in your neighborhood due to the fuel crisis. So lets say, there is a woman giving birth in your neighborhood but there is no car to move her to the hospital, it does not have to be your wife or sister. There is a fire and there is fuel in your car to get help or no fuel in your generator to power your generator and so your phone is down. Any thing that you need to have publicized for you. ANYTHING YOU CANNOT DO BECAUSE OF THE FUEL SCARCITY. Lets help you escalate it.

Family / Re: Can One Slap His Wife In This Case? by Totfulguy: 8:40am On May 08, 2015
ademega:
I am not in any way in support of raising a finger at a woman. I consider it barbaric .In fact, only a mentally disabled man will beat and beat his wife at the slightest provocation .

Having said the above , and with a thread a nairalander opened yesterday about her friend that was always receiving the beating of her life from her husband, the story of my step brother came to my mind .

Before my brother got married,he was this gentle, quiet, caring, loving and hard working type. He got married to this beautiful and also easy going lady. We were all happy about the union and expecting a kind of union that will be a model for us his younger ones.

There was this evening we received an unusual call from the wife saying my brother has been giving her the beating of her life since morning . That he has nearly killed her. Immediately she dropped the call, her mum called again that if anything should happen to her daughter that my mum and the whole family would be responsible and in for it. Her younger sister called again, calling my brother unprintable names and giving different kinds of warnings, if anything should happen to her sister.

This destabilsed us in the house. We were confused. Nobody has ever reported my brother in the house before, hence it was strange. We called my brother but he didn't even pick .

To cut the long story short, my brother eventually came home after three days to actually explain what happened.
He said since he got married to the popularly believed gentle, innocent girl, it has been horror for him. He said he has been trying to protect that good quality popularly believed by the family, and that was the reason why he has not reported her newly discovered characters to anyone and was hoping that she would change sooner .

He said for the past two years, that his wife slapped or beat him on the slightest provocation. He showed us old and new wounds all over his body. He said he has been enduring it all these while . He further said he noticed his wife was becoming stronger and happy with her actions because every time she would introduce new styles of beating him.

He said on this faithful day, there was an argument and before he could say one or two words, one, two slaps don land gidigba for his face. She didn't stop there, but went further to use her high heel shoes on him. Not yet done she went further to bite him severally ( the hand bite almost resulted in Whitlow). We saw with our eyes all the injuries inflicted on him . In fact, my younger brother had to ask him if his legs and hands were tied together while all these were going on. He said he was just smiling and trying to hold her together .

After all these, he said he had to talked to himself: for how long would these continue? He said his wife was doing all these just because she knows his position towards beating a lady, and before they got married he had one time or the other condemned men that do beat their wives and even called them animals.

The wife having realised this, was now doing the beating and expecting the husband to keep to his words and be strong in his conviction .

He said on this particular day, when his wife had finished doing her worst, he went to her ( not in anger but intentionally) and told her that what he was about to do is necessary at this point . That he wanted to prove one thing, which is , not that he doesn't have the power to beat but he has vowed not to in his life and seeing the type of woman she is, he has to prove this point today.

He first begged for forgiveness from God and her, and then, immediately, he landed two hot slaps on her face which caught her unawares and her jaw dropped.

Immediately he did this ,she went straight to pick up her phone and started calling her relatives and telling them lies that he has nearly finished her with beating .

In this case , what is your judgement ?

I no fit laugh! This is so funny. Sorry to sound one-sided, but the story has coherence and consistency. But what did she expect? I am SURE the beating has subsided.

Romance / Re: How Bad Breath Is Ruining My Relationships, Social Life And Self Esteem. by Totfulguy: 11:21am On Apr 14, 2015
SSBN:
As i type these words my heart is heavy and gloomy, filled with sadness. I reckon its a good idea to share my experience (especially those with similar problems).

I am A 30 YEAR OLD man, good looking (i needn't say this i know), financially well off relative to most average young men and certainly not lacking in intellectual capacity.

I have a condition BAD BREATH. I noticed this when my erstwhile girlfriend covers her nose with her fingers when i come close, when we have sex she insists on me hitting her from behind. She tried very hard to make it seem natural so as not to hurt my feelings but there is so much you can hide. Our relationship of course did not last because i was too stupid to figure out why. This was an on and off occurrence hence perhaps my failure to pin point the problem.

Of late the condition has worsened. It is made worse by the fact even your closest friend WILL NOT tell you about your bad breath. Each time i speak within minutes who ever I'm speaking to puts his/her hands over their nose and mouth.

There is this girl I just met. Obviously chemistry was not lacking hence we struck a connect pretty soon, but however since she started paying me visits i noticed as well she consistently tries to distance herself, even when I hug her face points downwards.

Now as of this writing i was paid a visit by my In-law (Dude who married my sister just this past December). I noticed the eye and bodily contacts between both. I'm here in my room but she's right there with him in the living room. Taking off her jean she is dressed in a provocative easy wear, one that accentuates her soft full legs and cute ass.

Mere staying with me revolts now. To buy time for privacy she requests for mundane things life ''Efirin'' leave (used for pepper soup), knowing all too well i will have to drive pretty far. Coming back home i parked outside (Which i don't usually do and walked into my apartment and lo and behold there she was sitting side my side with him, all grins and smiles.

Startled by my unexpected entry, i could see the irritation on her face. Right now as i type these words she is in the living room with my In-law, food is ready she demands she eats, serves him first and later asks with careless abandon if ''i will eat''. IN MY OWN HOUSE.

To say i am hurt and sad is an understatement, being a LEO, i am naturally a very sensitive but this hits me like a big blow; sad, self esteem reduced, i feel so sad.

Conclusion:

I know i am not the only one with this problem, there are thousands of guys like me having the same problem. You wouldn't wish this feeling of hurt and pain for your worst enemy, trust me.

I only wish God will somehow remove this problem for me. I have taken all medications, therapies and mouth wash but all to no avail.

Health / Re: 10 Months After Giving Birth, She Has Not Seen Her Menses, Pls Advise by Totfulguy: 4:06pm On Apr 07, 2015
nickxtra:
Experience mothers in the house, please I need your candid advice on this serious issue of my wife, though nursing a baby of 10 months plus now, has not seen her period since she put to bed over 10 months. About 3 month after her delivery, we had intimacy and some weeks later, she said she felt as if she was pregant. This early pregnancy got us worried which I even shared on this thread some time past, but based on advices from good people, including from Nairalanders and a Nurse she visited, we were advised to keep the pregnancy. On an occassion, I had to ask her how was she feeling with the baby, thinking that she should be preparing to register for pre-natal, but her response was that she does feel as if there is a baby in her. I immediately asked her to go for a pregnancy test , which she did and came with a negative result. I was shocked bcause I was expecting a positive result. Now she said that on enquiry to know could be the problem and she has not seen her period months after putting to bed, she was told or counseled by the Doctor that delayed menstrual period is normal in some women, particularly nursing mothers who are breasfeeding. This situation worries me and I need to know from experienced mothers in the house what could be the likely cause of the delayed menses and if it possible for her to take in without her period. What could be the solution to this? I need answers seriously, to enable me get adequate solution for it. Thanks

I do not think it is a problem. My wife went on for about nine months with her menstrual period. We had our Angel via CS and she needed a while to get better. I will advise that that you don't worry about it as she will ultimately return to her previous cycle. I dont think there is any need to worry or start any form of medical intervention. But just for comfort...you may want to see a Doctor, but even if you dont, she will be fine. By now you would possibly have come to terms with the difficulty associated with looking after a child, so you may want to give her some break and allow her time to heal physically before putting her in the "family way" again. I personally had an "accidental discharge" not long after we had our Angel (even though we had a miscarriage on that occasion). Out of concern for her welfare, I wish I had given her sometime. But we are fine now. So dont worry about it...she will be fine.

Politics / Re: Post-Election: "I See Death Of 'Great' Politician In Nigeria" - TB Joshua by Totfulguy: 12:38pm On Mar 30, 2015
Makweembo:
Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua has warned of the death of a prominent politician due to ‘heated up’ politics in the wake of the closely fought Nigerian elections.

“I am seeing Nigerians heating up politics,” the cleric told his congregation at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) on Sunday 29th March 2015.

“Wednesday and Thursday of this coming week and next week, make sure you fast and pray,” Joshua stated just before the close of his church service at 7pm in a message broadcast live via Christian television station Emmanuel TV.

“They will heat up politics and a great man among the politicians will likely lose his life… I am seeing this kind of thing happening in the night,” he stated, calling on congregants to take heed of his message and maintain ‘an attitude of prayer’ on the days specified in order to ‘save souls’.

Earlier in the service, Joshua reminded congregants of a prophetic message he had shared last year concerning a ‘dark cloud’ hovering over Nigeria. “Well, we can see God’s hand; God is beginning to remove the cloud,” he declared to the delight of attendees.

Explaining what the ‘cloud’ represented, Joshua stated that it meant a situation whereby two political parties would declare themselves as election winners, leading to a state of ‘lawlessness’.

“Whoever wins the race, let us put Nigeria first – the nation first,” he stressed. “The dark cloud I saw last year was two declarations - but I can see the finger of God. Thank you for your prayers.”

The controversial cleric also implored Nigerians to shun violence and consider the nation and its future first. “There is a difference between your faith and politics,” he told his audience and television viewers.

“Don’t play politics as if it is your faith. ‘Do or die’ is not politics. Politics is a game. When you lose, you say, ‘Thank You, Jesus’; when you win, you say, ‘Thank You, Jesus’.”

He specifically called on Nigerians, especially the youth, to resist the temptation to be ‘used’ by the political class to incite violence or cause bloodshed. “Take care of yourself and don’t allow yourself to be used,” he warned.

“Your future and the future of this nation – Jesus will ask you to give account. What we are doing now is for generations yet unborn. Don’t trade this future for money, thuggery or corruption.”

Joshua also predicted the capture of an international terrorist. “A criminal they have been looking for, for many years, who has been terrorising the world - I am seeing him being caught and displayed to the world on international media,” he announced.

SOURCE: http://www.nigerianeye.com/2015/03/nigeriadecides-nigerians-should-pray.html

Nonsense! I see the death of Senior Politician in America within 24 months. If Judge Bush Senior or Jimmy Catter dies of Age-related conditions does that make me a great prophet? If Shagari (God forbid) or any other politician dies does it make him a great prophet? Let him give name, location and time. Ancient prophets gave details of what is to happen and not vague guesses!

It is a reflection of her nostalgia for her "Aristo". She is either in or she goes back to wherever she came from. Eeeeew!!!

tunes2k10:
@Freest, Jacob placed a curse(in Gen 49:5-7) on Simeon & Levi (which transcended down their generations) all because they stood for their sister, Dinah (in Gen 34:25-31). No matter what your dad has done or doing, humble he with mature words of wisdom spoken softly because if you push him to anger or increase the existing anger and he place a curse on you, it will be on you (because he fathered you).

You dare not leave your father's house without his full blessings (i guess you are the first born). Even if your father is a wicked man, wizard or the most terrible man in the world, there is a great power he has over you in the fulfillment of your destiny, plead with him to proclaim blessings upon you and not curses, you noted that he said he will not miss you (that is a curse if you don't know).

If i were you, i will send him a text apologizing and when i return home this evening, i will go on my kneel to beg him to forgive me for my acts this morning.

Also talk to your mum and try to lift her spirit up instead of looking for a way to hurt your dad (or indirectly hurt yourself). Find a way to mediate (they see that their son is growing into a man), never you take sides. They are adults and have lived/known each other for almost 30years and for them to have gone this far that means they have come through it this far.

When I hear stuff like this, I see a man who has been sold to and entangled in a web of superstitious notions that have determined his future already...(You sound like a potential spouse abuser) Are you saying if the man were strangling the woman to death...the OP should just watch because "there is a great power he has over you in the fulfillment of your destiny,". (And please dont tell me was not strangling her because those women who got killed eventually where first of all slapped around by "cursed men" who have no respect for women). God would never tie the destiny of a child who is defending the defenseless...his mother, to a father who is abusive. Get that BS out of your mind. Am not asking the OP to beat the man up. But dont let this kind of post stop you from defending your mum. You could save her life if your father knows there is someone who has her back.

Don't know exactly what to call it; rude awakening or shocker of my life!! I stumbled on photocopies of my husband's pension's scheme form, Life Insurance form and will.

As I went through the forms, I saw that my I am not my husband's next of Kin or beneficiary!! His younger brother is!! It hurts to realise that for a house that Ђåvε̲ made more than 60percent contribution to, per adventure something happens tomorrow, I will be left at the mercy of my brother in laws!!!

I haven't confronted him yet because I don't know how to. But I intend starting a secret saving account for myself because as at now, he access to all my bank accounts. I have also decided to stop contributing a dime to the house because I don't Ђåvε̲ any stake in it!

Are my thoughts in order? Please I need suggestions...what do I do? Married men why on earth would your wife not be your next of kin?

Britney, I am married and my wife is my next of kin. However, there are reason why some men make their brothers their next of kin and, in some instances this is excusable. Below are possible scenarios where a man would make his brother a next of kin.
1. Tradition: In our part of the (I assume your husband is from the southwest, southeast, south-south of Nigeria) tradition its is expected that the man's interest will best be protected by a member of the family. It is also assumed that the brother is the closest part of the nuclear family and is therefore in the best position to keep the "family name" in the event of the demise of the brother. This is actually a baseless tradition.
2. Circumstances: If you have the luck (or a lack of it) of marrying a treacherous woman, who does not share true family ideals and who does appreciate the value of working as a team with you, you will most like not want to have her as next of kin. It can also be vice versa.
3. Friends: It is also possible that your the company a man keeps could influence his attitude and posture when it comes to who his next of kin would be. He may be getting insinuations from friends who are advising him wrongly. It is unfortunate, that some of us allow others to tell us about the ones we should know better.
My suggestion: My take on this is that you need to thread cautiously. A lot is involved in this situation that you should weigh carefully before taking the decision to confront him or hold your own. I know that a lot will be running through your mind at this point-you may be thinking of your children (if any), yourself and tomorrow. But I will advise that you try to hold your own. It will be easy if you have a means of earning an income. Three things are clear...
1.There is a need for you keep your marriage safe and sane (If the conditions are right and there is no threat to life or livelihood)
2.There is need for you to keep something aside for your future. Actually even if you were your husbands next of kin, you would still need to keep something aside for yourself and kids because life itself is uncertain. I encourage my wife to do the same and I do not pry into her income or savings...that is her privacy.
3.It will matter how you handle the situation as it will affect your relationship with your husband. Again, you have to thread carefully. There is a lot on my mind and I could talk more if I were to speak one-on-one with you. I WISH YOU THE BEST!

Politics / Suicide Bombers Or "Murder Bombers"? by Totfulguy: 5:16pm On Mar 03, 2015
I think its high time we started changing our naming conventions for the current phenomena of perceived "suicide bombers" in Nigeria. Put in context, a suicide bomber is someone who, as a result of personal resolution, has decided to kill other people while giving his life in the process. This definition conveys the thought of a conscious and intentional effort at martyrdom.
The question is, how many of the little girls, boys, women and men who are deployed for the purpose terror operation really desire to die in the course of what they believe in? What do they know? Until we are able to decipher the difference between intention and coercion, we will almost always feel hate in our hearts for the hundreds of helpless people who are murdered by terrorists for their selfish end. I wish we could just pause a moment and give this a second thought.

I'm guessing your baby is already learning for example that the remote control is for the TV not the fan, and he probably is learning how to operate it, just by watching you use the TV remote. Why do you remotely think that he is not learning sex?. He probably doesn't know 'details' of sex because he is innocent but he is learning that people 'climb' each other and trust me you won't want that. I once taught in a school where a one year baby fingered a fellow classmate (creche class) , the child didn't know the gravity of his actions, but already he was labeled a sex offender in the minds of people and ended up being a disgrace to his parents, just because he saw daddy and mummy do it

Very sad!

Op, its a surprise that you are more concerned about loosing concentration during intercourse than on the effect such practice is having on your child.

I don't think you should even have sex with your husband when your child is asleep on the same bed. Not to talk of the child being awake and seeing this time and time again
I know the child is young and might not fully be aware of his environment but you shouldn't rule out the psychological effect these images would have on the mind of the child
Its like letting your baby watch porn

One thing I never rule out is the crucial roles the environment plays in the development of a child
You may feel like the child doesn't understand anything at this stage, but just like in the case of language learning, his brain is assimilating and storing up information in a fast process.

Whenever you want to do a "quicky" with your husband, its best you make sure the kid is asleep or better still, you put him in the care of someone else, probably a maid or any other person in the house.

Thanks

Spot on! I know what I saw as a child when grown ups around me were doing their "quickies". On many occassions I used to pretend to be asleep because something in me said they did not want me to see them. I also recalled that I used to wish they could do the same to/with me. I am over 30 and married, but I know what early exposure to adult themes/content/experience has done to me and to my marriage. I am not blaming those who exposed me to these things for my actions and I take absolute responsibility for my action.

But I believe that "a man's (in this case a child's) mind stretched to a new idea, never goes back to its original dimensions". I have a beautiful daughter and I do my quickies under very controlled environments where I am 100% sure that she is asleep or attended to by another person. Parents should be careful what they expose the toddlers or children to.
